Ayda Hanagan’s life took a whole new road to hell when she agreed to lay down beside Babylon’s very own devil in disguise, Drew Tucker. With an evolving love and the world she once knew now gone forever, Ayda’s toes were no longer dancing on the edge of the flames. She’d jumped straight into the fire, dragging her younger brother, Tate, along for the ride. No matter which way they both turned, Harleys and leather were their new reality, and they had to get used to the fact that acts of war and bad blood were never far away.
All that seemed so easy for Ayda to push aside when she was resting in the arms of the man she never expected to love, but when lust, need and sex became as important to her as the air she breathed, it was only going to be a matter of time before reality decided to slap her around the face harder than ever before.
Lost in the screwed-up perfection of their new fairytale, Drew and Ayda thought they could handle anything life threw at them. For every cop, whore or enemy that tried to tear them apart, they found strength in each other and a new weapon to fight back with. Only not all assassins wore their patches on their chest, and before they could even see the eyes of the wolves in the shadows waiting to bring them to their knees, they were all out of places to run.
With everything they'd ever believed in suddenly at risk, fear was no longer an option and Drew and Ayda soon found themselves in the middle of a war that looked impossible to get out of alive. In order to survive, they had to learn how to fight together.
Without restriction. Without thought. Without mercy.
Even if that meant sacrificing everything they’d worked for, including each other.
WITHOUT FOREVER... Releasing June 18th. Are you ready to say goodbye to Drew and Ayda?
Victoria L. James is a teenage girl stuck inside a thirty-something-year-old’s body. A Corona and nacho appreciator with a ridiculous obsession for all things Rocky Balboa, she currently lives in Yorkshire, England, with her husband and two baby boys. Having had a strong passion for words and stories going as far back as she can remember, she credits her love of literature to her Grandma Bess who taught her that you don’t need a lot of money to travel to different worlds, experience new places, and live a thousand lives.
I finished Without Mercy and honestly, I had to sit for a while to sort out the many emotions that this story brought me. Words literally have escaped me when I think about how to write this review. I find it astonishing that this was coauthored because I could never, in a million years, be able to pinpoint who wrote what scene or chapter. Victoria L. James and L.J. Stock have such similar writing styles yet they each bring something that could only be described as magical to this story. Not only is the writing style impressive, they have a talent of drawing out a huge range of emotions from their readers. I rarely am brought to tears while reading, it happens but not very often. In Without Mercy, the authors had me falling apart for different reasons on three occasions. I was so wrecked during those times I had to put the kindle down and walk away so I could gather myself. I won’t say what those scenes were, or give any hint as to what occurred because you must experience this book on your own but I found I had gained some valuable lessons from Drew, Ayda and yes even Tate’s journey. Ayda was still adjusting to her new life at the hut with the MC gang. They had accepted her into the fold, well the whores who were hanging around didn’t like her but the men respected her not only as Drew’s woman but as Ayda herself. Kenny had taken Tate under his wing and the feeling of being an inexperienced single mom to her younger brother was less of a burden than it had been before. With not having to worry about paying the bills and keep a roof over their heads, she was now free to keep the hut going, laundry clean and food in the men’s belly’s while she found new ways to try and draw Drew out of his shell. With all of that going the number one thing she had left to figure out was, is living her dream with Drew really fair to Tate? Her younger brother was getting sucked farther and farther into the MC mentality and forgetting his dreams of college and high school football. She had sacrificed so much of her life after her parents died to provide and raise Tate, she isn’t sure if she can sacrifice Drew and the gang in order to keep Tate on the right path. Drew was still leading the charge for revenge of those who were responsible for Pete’s death. He knew he had done things that would make a normal person sick and haunted with nightmares forever, but to him this was life, his life. With new threats emerging in town, a dysfunctional relationship with the head of police that could prohibit him from protecting what needs to be protected, he is also faced with the balance of how much does he let Ayda in on club business. If he isn’t careful he is going to wake up alone one morning and realize his need to protect her is actually what pushed her out the door. It was a stunning turn of events that made all of the pieces fall in place for Drew and Ayda, leading them to find that lost link that had been there all the time, yet hidden due to their own stubbornness. I won’t give any hints, but trust me when I say, those few chapters left me in excruciating heartbreak as I watched them and had no clue how this would end. You read romance books and they use the word love, but these two authors showed you what love is all about. That realistic kind of love that comes from so deep in your heart you don’t even recognize yourself any more. They also showed us about trust and the fine balance that it takes to maintain it. Acceptance was another message that I gained from this book. Love and loss is a promise in life, acceptance of that is something you must work to obtain. They both had to have their own form of acceptance to the new world they have created and how they acquired that was beyond anything I could have imagined. In conclusion, I think the most heartbreaking part for me was the last page, as their story had come to an end in this chapter of life. Knowing they will move on and we possibly won’t be there to watch, yes this is a pathetic plea to the authors to not bring this series to an end, was like saying goodbye to a loved one and knowing you might not see them again. I not only fell in love with Drew and Ayda and the rest of the gang, they became part of my heart that I will carry for a very long time.
I have been eagerly awaiting book 2 in the Babylon Series and I wasn't disappointed! James & Stock have done a fantastic job with this sequel. Usually I find with a series that the books lose momentum and the stories fade away. Not this one! They have definitely cranked the action up a few notches and I loved it. I had many heart in mouth moments and I couldn't stop turning the pages. Some of the chapters were brilliantly written, so vivid, I felt like I was right there in the thick of the action. Well done, ladies! Can't wait to read the next installment of Drew & Ayda.
I had been waiting for this book for like Ages....!! And fortunately I wasn't disappointed at all..
I just don't know how to review this book. I have so many emotions taken over me after finishing this book. The authors Victoria James and L J Stock have once again done a great job in constructing this world of Drew, Ayda, Tate and the evil forces surrounding them.
Starting right where Without Consequence left off, Drew has one single motive to protect what's his! He wants to tell his enemies that they can't hurt what's his. They can't hurt Ayda. If they did, they'll die.
While Ayda is still adjusting in the world where Drew and his MC gang brothers belong. It's not a beautiful life for her, not a typical happily ever after. She is still judging her position and how her choices effect Tate. Tate is her younger brother and she had always been the sensitive, caring single-mother for him. So she doesn't want her kid brother to be too much involved in this MC life and leave his college, career aside. Ayda's personality in this book has been more strong and groomed according to me.
Mostly series don't appeal me very much because they sometimes drag out and the story is just lengthened out..but this one was not like that.. The story wast strong, and fast paced. The authors managed to take the story to a new high peak of terror, emotions, angst, feelings and action in the second book as well. And yes there was that perfect amount of Romance element i love. :)
The writing was so impressive that I felt like I am present there in Drew and Ayda's World. Witnessing everything myself. This book had me on the edge of my seat throughout the time. And i couldn't stop turning pages. yeah I finished it in like 1 and a half day :P
I am always glad to read Victoria James and L J Stock's books. Thankfully, it was provided for an honest review by the author <3 Thanks a lot. I Recommend this series to every one. Book one: Without Consequence Book two: Without Mercy
I've been thinking non-stop about this book since I finished reading/editing it and I still haven't quite managed to scrape my jaw off the floor.
Just when I thought these authors had reached their peak with Without Consequence, they went and blew this one out of the park.
I honestly don't even know where to start trying to review this book. If you're going to start reading it, make sure you have a good bit of time free because once you start, you aren't going to want to put it down. It drags you in by the throat right from the start and keeps you turning the pages right until the end. I was lucky enough to be asked to edit it, and as somebody who is usually wordy as hell and gobby to boot, it's a little alarming that I'm still completely speechless.
Once again, Babylon has stolen my heart. It's swiftly becoming one of my happy places, despite some of the stuff that goes down there. I fell in love with Ayda and Drew all over again, and with the characters surrounding them. It's rare to find authors who create such wonderfully well-rounded supporting characters. Deeks is MINE and I'm willing to fight for him! The MC characters are gaining more and more life of their own with each book and it's so easy to love them.
The climax of the book is so well written that it packs a serious punch that will knock the wind right out of you and make you feel like you're right there with them. I don't want to post anything remotely spoilery so I'm keeping schtum about that section of the book, but I can say that it's absolutely perfectly written and fantastically executed. They pull no punches and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I half expected to look up from reading and find myself still in the middle of it all.
I could waffle on all day about how much I loved this book, but I probably shouldn't. Needless to say, though, Babylon is a place I will be delighted to head back to again and again, and I look forward to more five star reads from these talented authors.
** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **
** Without Mercy is the second instalment of the Babylon Series **
Without Mercy takes us yet again on Ayda and Drew’s journey.
Starting where Without Consequence left off, Drew is out for one very simple thing…..REVENGE.
He wants to hurt those that were so willing to hurt both Ayda and her brother Tate.
Without any thought or feeling, Drew makes sure that the enemy gets his message. He kills some of the enemies men and leaves a young girl alive so she can go back and give them the message that Drew so desperately wants them to know.
The message…….You hurt what belongs to me, you will die.
But at what consequence?
While for the meantime revenge has been found, there is something lurking in the shadows making Drew and the rest of the crew of the Hounds MC nervous. Drew knows it will only be a matter of time before trouble is headed their way.
But at what cost?
The enemy knows what they need to do……They want blood. But more to the point, they want the Hounds blood. It’s a careful plan, a plan that Drew and his men simply do not see coming.
Who will pay for the act of revenge that Drew took out? What will ultimately happen to Drew? Will the Hounds ever be safe? Will Ayda be left in the firing line? Will the Hounds be no longer?
Without Mercy is nothing short of absolute brilliance. From beginning to end we couldn’t put it down. Every page turned we were taken on a journey. A journey of hurt and pain. A journey of revenge and loyalty. A journey of love and hope. But what made this so unique, was the way both the authors were able to make us feel the emotion throughout the novel. We laughed, and we cried. We held our breath. We were simply moved.
And why?
Because Without Mercy is raw, gritty, dark, heart-breaking, hard and at times quite confronting. But it is also light-hearted, funny and heart-warming. It’s simply a mixture of everything.
To both Victoria L. James and L.J. Stock, thank you both so very much for giving us a spectacular read. Without Mercy was written with such depth and so descriptive it was like we were there with each of the characters. The emotion that you both were able to bring out in Without Mercy for us was nothing short of amazing. We were so drawn in that we were not able to put it down. If we as readers/bloggers could give this novel more than a 5 star rating we definitely would. Without Mercy is one of the best novels we have ever been fortunate to read.
Without Mercy should be a MUST on everyone’s TBR list.
“I wasn’t sure what was happening as she slowly started to tremble, and then, without warning, she burst into tears, her head burying in her hands as ‘sorry’ came out in a frequency only dogs could decipher.”
“He’d watched too many westerns and starred in few too many imaginary gunfights growing up. The chief was too easy to mess with.”
“You might want to prepare yourself for me dressing you up in bubble wrap from now on. Three guard dogs everywhere you go. No venturing out after dark. Maybe a collar…”
“’Shush woman. I’m good. Never felt better. I’m a lion remember?’ My attempt at a fake roar sounded more like a dying cat.”
“He pulled me closer, being careful to avoid the injuries on my back versus the injuries on his chest. It was like an awkward game of body Jenga, trying to pull at the pieces that wouldn’t send us tumbling down.”
My Review:
Without Mercy picks up where Without Consequences ended, and it starts off with a bang due to a rather chilling scene for Drew and his pack. I still find him rather frightening, although his character has grown on me, as due to Ayda’s influence, he is not as dark or angry by the end of Without Mercy. This volume contained considerable action, steam, and suspense, as well as a bit of heartbreak, awakenings, and lots of drama. The authors seemed to really hit their groove in this installment, and the story sizzled with sensual scenes, as well as heartfelt discussions and interesting discoveries as the couple establishes and builds their relationship. The plot was inventive, multi-layered, suspenseful, and well crafted. The characters were complicated, deeply flawed, unpredictable, and unendingly fascinating. And even more unexpected humorous observations and witty banter – yum. I do believe I am hooked. More, please.
Drew and Ayda's relationship was never going to be easy. We realised this when we opened book one, Without Consequence. Without Mercy took their relationship to whole other level. You see emotion at it's rawest as you follow them into each chapter. Chapters that you can't help but feel sucked in by every word, every tear and blood that was shed. I don't want to give too much away but what I will say is this... A jealous Drew Freakin Tucker is out of this world, hot!
Victoria and LJ have a beautiful connection and I hope they continue to carry on in their collaborations. They have the amazing ability to draw you in and keep you glued there until the very end. It's a rare talent to find and I feel so privileged to have gotten my hands on a copy early. To say I had waited too long for this is an understatement. So thank you both.
Personally, I'd love to see a Tate spin-off. Without Consequence saw him as a child who through no fault of his own, had to grow up far too quickly. As did his sister, Ayda. Without Mercy showed us a different side to Tate. He was no longer the annoying brother who took it upon himself to annoy the hell out of his sister as he did in the first book. Ok, maybe he is still a little, but I kinda like that about it. But despite all of that he became a man. So most definitely I would love to see him grow and show us a side of him that we catch a glimpse of throughout Without Mercy.
Plus, I think he would look stinking hot in leather.
A huge well done on another heartfelt, jaw-dropping (and panty), gut-wrenchingly brilliant piece of work. Now, how long until book three?
I jut finished Without Mercy and I loved it! This is a continuance so Without Consequences must be ready first but trust me will love it just as I do. It's a biker book so I'm all there. It's a raw, dirty and gritty tale that had me at the edge of my seat more so in this one than the last. That's to be expected since this one is about the war with the Emperors. Drew and Ayda are still an stubborn yet awesome couple. They compliment each other well. They both have their fears in this relationship because it sure was hell not an easy ride for them but it turned out the way that it was supposed to. I enjoyed the secondary characters too and wonder what's going to come next. There are some potential stories about them that I would love to read so we will have to see!! Love this duo!!
What can you say about a book that utterly and totally consumes you in one sitting,I'm lost for words at how good this book this. They both know write so amazingly well they put you right there in the room with these characters, every single one of them. Heartache, sobs, shouting,LOL and a whole lotta love just a few of the emotions from this book. I love you.Pull the trigger, darlin. One of the best lines ever in a book Just buy this book.Do it now.you to will love these characters and the authors that bought them to life. I'll be collecting my Freddos later ladies;)
" I love you, pull the trigger darlin" best line ever!!!!! After all the voice messages and whatsapp's I've finished without mercy seriously I have no idea when a book left me feeling like it did Victoria and LJ have outdone themselves on this one just facking AMAZING!!!! If I could give this 10 stars I would, you people need to read this be prepared for ugly snot crying, heart thumping moments, and utter fack yes moments!!!!
Book 2 continues the story of Drew and Ayda. Being the leader of the MC, when another crew tries to move in and take what’s his…He deals with them, as the title says, without mercy. I toroughly loved the way Drew embraces his darkness while letting the light of Ayda grow within him. They take each other as they are without trying to change each other and that is fantastic to read. I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was insane! Probably one of the best books I have ever read! It was so emotional...so raw! I was holding my breath, pulling my hair, and crying while reading Without Mercy. I recommend it 100 million percent!!! James and Stock are the dream team!!!!
I loved it! Even more of Drew and Ada. Finishing the last book I thought the next book would be another romance in the club, however, this is a continuation of Ayda and Drew's story.
More danger and hotness as Ayda and Drew try and find a balance In their relationship when enemies and trouble crawl out from the woodwork.
It's not a peaceful life in an MC and this is a journey Ayda is coming to realise and Drew too has to accept that Ayda loves him regardless of the danger and trouble being with him brings. .
Without mercy is a journey of love in an MC setting with a family feel that has made me fall in love with the characters and the club even more.
If you love MC romance you should definitely add this to your must reads, start at the beginning without consequence and enjoy the ride.
Looking forward to more of Ayda, Drew and The MC in Without Truth.
Without Mercy is book 2 in the Babylon Series, this is a continuation of Ayda and Drew’s story. Based on the title you would not know this is a MC book, but it is. I loved the first book, Without Consequences and fell in love with this MC and these two characters. I have been anxiously awaiting this book so I could see where Ayda and Drew’s relationship went and how the Babylon MC would make out with the danger to them and to their small town. This book it is gritty, dangerous and filled with badass Bikers, but I love that this story also is about finding true love. The best thing is there is no cheating. I started this book at 10:00 pm and thought I would read a few chapters then pick it back up in the morning. That did not work. I ended up staying up half the night finishing it because I could not put it down. There is so much growth, learning and acceptance by the characters in this book. The story is well written and thought out. The characters are developed well and I could not help but to fall in love with them even more than the first book.
Drew’s character is one that you will fall in love with. How can you not when he is strong, fierce, loyal and honest. Not only to his club but to the woman that turned his world around. Drew’s club and the town they reside are in danger. He has to keep them safe but also needs to keep Ayda and her little brother Tate safe as well. Drew is a man that is confused. He has a hard time accepting and coming to terms with his feelings and needs for Ayda. He feels the MC life is not a place for this good soul, but he needs her with him. In order to keep everyone safe he needs to bring out a certain side of himself that he is sure will send Ayda away. So before she leaves him he starts to push her away and shut her out. It is easy to see how Drew feels about her by his actions, thoughts and needs. Even though he can’t say the words there is no doubt at all how much he loves her. Drew is constantly seeking her out, touching her, feeling her and wanting her.
I just loved Ayda. This female character is fierce. She’s a fighter and accepting of Drew’s status in the MC. She supports him 100%. Never questions his actions. She is caring, soft and loving when he needs it. Her life and that of her brother in the MC has changed drastically. She has to start letting her brother go and to make his own decisions in the MC. When the club is facing danger at its worst, she wants Drew to promise to come back to her. She does not want everything that is going on to change the man she fell in love with. Ayda has found a family within the Babylon MC and she doesn’t want to lose it. When Drew continually pushes and shuts her out, she fights for their relationship and her family. There is a scene in the story I loved where Ayda takes a stand with Drew and in front of the MC. That becomes a defining moment in their relationship, one where she solidifies her life in the MC and her love for Drew.
The danger they are facing threatens to take them all out, but this fight will have new allies and a weapon that their enemies can’t win against, love. There is a come to Jesus moment for Drew, and he realizes what is truly important. With the finale battle at hand, enemies will show their turn faces, betrayals and death will come knocking at the doors of Bablyon. Who will survive this final battle? Will Drew and Ayda have their HEA? I seriously loved this story and it’s one that every MC fan will want to pick up.
I have just finished reading Without Mercy and unfortunately I am not going to be able to share Drew Tucker with y’all. I know it’s a shame but I’m sorry I just CANNOT DO IT, HE IS TOO FREAKIN HOT FOR YOU ALL TO HANDLE. So I’ll just keep him.
OK, Ok, if only!
The too gorgeous ladies that are Victoria L James & LJ Stock were so nervous releasing Without Consequence and Without Mercy, no amount of pep talking could convince them how amazing this story of Drew and Ayda in Babylon is. And in all honesty Without Consequence was fabulous, but Without Mercy is more!
So I am going to try my damdest to explain it to you all and then you too will go and grab this experience and let them know how good it is too.
Ayda is one smart cookie, learning to bring up her younger brother by herself taught her to be brave, bold and selfless, this shone through in book 1 but in book 2 not only did this intensify she also grew in her commitment to Drew, his men and the club. But as with all things good they often come at a price.
Was it a price she was willing to pay?
“And you have your own charisma and charm, I like to call this charm,” he said through an obvious grin, giving my ass a squeeze.
Drew, Drew, Drew, I don’t want to but I know I must share him with you. He is Hot, with a capital H, but he is also a closed off, brooding, smoldering, ever so slightly chauvinistic hunk of MC President.
Lifting a hand, he dipped his head and crooked a single finger at me before he whispered, “Then come here, darling’. Ain’t no point running from something you ain’t ever gonna escape.” ~Drew~
*sings* I’m coming………. Oh wait, sorry I got distracted by his Texan drawl.
He was there to protect his club, his men but most of all Ayda, and all this responsiblility is weighing heavily on his shoulders. He has never been in love, never wanted to be in love, and here is Ayda and suddenly life is overwhelmingly complicated for him to fully understand his feelings and how to deal with those alongside what he sees as his responsibilities as President to the MC.
She had no idea what she did to me. She had no idea of the light she’d brought into my dark. ~Drew~
When the “price” they must pay comes, it was one of the scariest, sickeningly real scenes I have read and the dread in the pit of my stomach was very real. Hats off to these two authors for capturing all the horror of the situation Drew and Ayda find themselves in.
Without Mercy has sealed Victoria L James & LJ Stock’s position in my eyes as true talent in the indie world and I wish them every success with this series and future books.
Without Mercy is Book #2 in The Babylon Series co- written by Victoria L James and L.J.Stock, and I will say that these two Authors are absolutely BRILLIANT together.
This book picks up right where Without Consequences leaves off and the flow is phenomenal. Im not going to give away much of this story because I feel that everyone needs to experience this book in its full entirety.
Ayda Hanagan has settled into club life at the "Hut", she is accepted by all the members of the Hounds MC, relieved that she doesn't have all the financial burdens has lessened the strain that she's lived with since her parents death and raising her brother Tate. What has her worried now is if this is the right life for Tate who seems to be adapting quite well with all the members of the MC. With Kenny taking Tate under his wing things seem to be working out, but... When circumstances happen Tate is brought into the mix to help alleviate problems occurring with a teenage copy-cat gang and Ayda is forced to make very tough decisions.
Drew Tucker (President of the Hounds MC) is once again having to make life altering decisions to protect his club and the safety of his woman Ayda. Drew and Ayda have gotten to a point in there relationship where they feel they can handle anything life throws at them, but... Will sacrificing everything they have both worked for be enough?
These two authors worked seamlessly together there was so many different emotional parts in this story I had to stop at some parts and "Take deep breathes", but the writing was absolutely brilliant. I felt like I was right there living what was going on and you will see which part I mean when you read it, its very graphic and gritty but done perfectly.
Everything Drew and Ayda believed in was at risk. They were forced to work together against their rivals. Fear was no longer an option, they were in the middle of a war looking impossible to get out alive. Together can they survive the impossible?
I will leave you with this one line that tore at my soul this is one of the times where I felt everything as if I were there with these two and yes even picturing that sexy Texan drawl of Drew's too.
"I love you. Pull the trigger, Darling"
Well that's all I'm going to say. I highly recommend this book and if I could give it more than 5 Stars I most definitely would this story will stay with me for a very long time and I'm hoping there will be more from this series.
What can I say? This book was amazing! I fell in love with these characters all over again. Usually in a series, the first book is always the best but I have to say the second book ended up being just as good if not better. I cried, laughed, gasped, got angry and still wanted more. These two authors have exceeded everything I expected and then some. They left me begging for more and with the worst book hangover ever! Please hurry and write the third book, ladies!!!
Without Mercy absolutely loved it ,Drew , Ayda Tate and all the hounds Love them all.i do have a soft spot for one of the hounds men and it's not Drew. I felt every emotions possible and more , love how these two Author's Victoria_LJames and L_J_Stock pull you in from the very beginning to the very end .can't wait to read more from these two very talented ladies .❤
I never cry at books. Not cos I'm a hard ass or cold hearted... No, no, no. I cry at adverts, films, greetings cards and X Factor sob stories. I am, in fact, a sap.
Without Mercy, however, had me on the verge of tears twice, so for that alone it deserves applause.
But of course it's not just that that earned its five stars from me. Hell no.
I waited patiently for the release after reading it's prequel, Without Consequence, which when I first heard was an MC romance, I'll be honest, I didn't expect to enjoy. Of course I did enjoy it, because the talent that this duo share as individual writers becomes a force to be reckoned with once collaboration happens.
I fell in love with the life of the Hounds pretty quickly and became interested in the twists and turns that the characters were dragged along. I finished the book with satisfied surprise because I genuinely didn't think it would be my cup of tea.
So, on hearing there would be a sequel, I was pleased, not just for myself as a reader, but pleased that these two ladies were writing together for a second time. I knew there'd be a little bit of magic being woven in cyber space and that excited me.
I bought the kindle version on release day, and Without Mercy has continued to excite me with every turn of the virtual page.
We are literally thrown back into The Hut, albeit to interrupt a rather raunchy session between Drew (dreamy sigh) and Ayda - rather embarrassing... sorry guys, and sent whizzing and spinning with emotion and trauma from beginning to end.
James and Stock have a gift each. They are superb wordsmiths, able to select perfectly precise vocabulary that means you are there. You are there in Babylon with Deeks and Kenny, Tate and Slater. You are there when Drew looks at Ayda the way he does, and you feel how she reacts to him: every hair on her arm is your hair. You are there when Ayda is scared for her life and you feel the fear creeping up your own back because this book is incredibly written.
This book blew me away. THAT is why it deserves applause, and that's why it deserves five stars.
Drew Tucker is a lot of things...most of the things that he is or shall I say was in his past have now changed to good. What cause this change in Drew the President of the Hounds of Babylon MC was only one thing Ayda Hanagan. For once was now is or so the saying goes because Drew has never be able to have someone capture his heart and soul.
Now Without Mercy the Book Two of the Babylon Series has a dual meaning in couple ways....
Without never knowing what hit this man Ayda has come into his world, into his hut, into his band of brothers along with her own brother Tate and turn him and the Hounds around.
Although let's not worry that these guys aren't the stuff that they are made of in Without Consequences because they are and believe me that has not change. There is however a new issue that the Hounds have to face and that impostors going around pretending that they are part of the Hounds starting up trouble in the town of Babylon. Well you know that Drew is going to have no parts of that and so the process will being.
Peace has a price to be paid and with Ayda and Drew now at the stands of their relationship along comes the past back to haunt them. Angst and rage have now enter into their world and not by each others hand by a sore that was once previously in Drew's past and Ayda's present will try to fester them apart.
Now here's were the title comes into play.....When it comes to Ayda, Drew is never Without Mercy to the love that he has for this woman. Mercy has brought Drew to his feet for this woman of his and nothing will ever stand in his way.
To show Mercy to those who have come back and tried to destroy Drew and Ayda they will be Without Mercy because Drew will never, ever give Mercy to those who have try to take what is his.
Authors Victoria L. James & L.J. Stock have written an emotional tale of blood, sweat and tears with Babylon and for me after I read book one it left me for weeks thinking about it. I am hopefully that we will see more of this series continue because I am not done with these guys yet~
I actually had to gather myself after reading this book. This was so phenomenal that that not only am I reluctant to pick up another book; I really am not ready to face reality and just want to stay with my friends in Babylon.
This book had so many surprises in it that it caught me off guard every step of the way. Without Mercy had me smiling and holding back tears. I even chewed some of my nails down during the really intense moments too!
Without Mercy is book two in the Babylon Series and was an amazing second book! Book 1 was fantastic and I wasn’t sure how the authors were going to live up to book one but Without Mercy totally blew me away. The intensity of the story did not die down but actually grew stronger and got a little darker at times. Drew and Ayda have such a tumultuous relationship that you never know where it is going to take them. I loved seeing their relationship change in this book.
Almost all the characters from book one made an appearance in this book. I loved this because there was no need for introductions so we got to know them deeper which brought all the characters to life that much more.
If you are looking for a book with edge, snark, twists, suspense, with light and dark tones, look no further. If you are still unsure, just read the first page and see if you are able to put it down. My guess is the next time you put it down is when you finish the book!
This is the second book in the Babylon series about the Hounds of Babylon MC. It continues the story of the president, Drew and Ayda.
Ayda is now learning to be a kick ass biker chick and understanding the world that Drew has brought her and her brother Tate into. But whilst Ayda feels she is the one needing to adjust so does Drew. He has never had this depth of feeling for anybody in his life, other than that of his dead brother Pete of course.
This was a very engrossing storyline and every chapter had something new to throw at the reader. Be it the passion between Ayda and Drew, or the budding romance of young Tate and his older girlfriend (who also was an hang around at the hut) There was also the tension with the local sheriff, a gang of teenagers making trouble for the Hounds, oh and the rival MC impeding on their turf. So lots happening, giving the reader a whole lot of action to get hooked into.
The last part of the book was very intense with a violent and bloody episode that at times had me skimming over the horrific and gritty bloodbath going on. Whilst reading what is happening involving Ayda and Drew, I was thinking this is along the lines of Romeo and Juliet, and then this was mentioned on the next page! Totally in sync with the authors!
Overall this was a sexy passionate read that was at times hard hitting, gritty and intense. The characters were likable and believable and I loved the camaraderie of the Hounds MC. Four Stars
This book has everything. Hot guy with a conscience? Check. Brave girl willing to do anything for her loved ones? Check. Steamy romance? Check (double!). Edge of your seat, nail biting suspense? A very black, shaky check.
Watching Ayda settle into the hut with the Hounds of Babylon was interesting and, at times, hilarious. She carved out a place for herself and stuck to it, only compromising when she knew it would be best for all involved. Drew, for his part, begins to understand the depth of Ayda's love for him, as well as his own for her. But problems lurk on every side for the two: a chief of police hell bent on making their lives miserable; a crazed ex that wants to destroy the Hounds; another motorcycle club wanting blood for blood; and then Ayda's younger brother Tate learning the joys (and absolute embarrassment) of first love. The last part of the book was so incredibly suspenseful that I had to walk away a few times, because I thought I would do the worst and peek ahead! Victoria and L.J. do a wonderful job at blending a thousand emotions into one scene, and it all seems so believable. You find yourself cheering for Ayda and Drew, and then for the rest of the Hounds, because stereotypes of blinded the little town of Babylon from seeing the true nature of these kind, passionate men.
Without Mercy (Babylon Series #2) by Victoria L. James and LJ Stock
An action packed thrilling love story. Highly Recommended!
This writer was provided with an ARC of this book in exchanged for an honest review. This writer can honestly say that Victoria L. James and LJ Stock have become two of my favorite writers. Having been first introduced to them with the Young Adult series “Road To Wonderland,” and now with the second book in the Babylon series, these authors are courageous, inventive and never to be missed.
Drew is the president of the Hounds of Babylon MC. He is ruthless, does what he needs to do in order to protect his MC, but most importantly, he is dedicated to the love and protection of his girlfriend Ayda.
Ayda became a parent to her brother Tate after the untimely deaths of her parents. The only person she loves as much is Drew. When Drew asks for permission to have Tate help with club business, she is understandably torn. How can she risk her only brother, even if it is to help her adopted family.
This is now one of my favorite series. If you have not already read book 1, “Without Consequence,” you have to because it is a mind blowing read also. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
These two authors have co-authored amazingly together once again!
Without Mercy is the second book in the Babylon Series and takes us on another journey through Ayda and Drew’s relationship.
Ayda and her younger brother Tate have fully immersed themselves in the biker lifestyle due to Ayda and Drew’s relationship. By now, they are used to the dealings and blood shed that goes on especially with Drew’s path to revenge on those that tried to hurt Ayda and Tate in the first book.
Every way Drew and Ayda turn, they face a new struggle but they manage to stick together and pump through whatever life throws their way. Drew is the oxygen to Ayda’s lungs and she needs him to survive. Serious danger is lurking in the shadows and this danger wants blood…and lots of it and it will stop at nothing until it succeeds. It’s a danger that no-one, even the MC, sees coming.
Lives will be torn apart and allegiances will be tested in this gritty, edgy, dramatic, suspenseful and emotional edge of your seat read.
I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Tanya.
The second book in the Babylon series did not disappoint and is once again, worth so many more than just the five stars that we are allowed to give it. I don't understand how 2 authors can be so in tune with each other but these 2 just blow me away. My review will not do this book the justice it deserves.
Without Mercy starts right where Without Consequences left off, so please go read the first book if you haven't. You will thank me later for that I promise. Drew and Ayda are still going strong and trying to make their new relationship work, while dealing with others that are out to hurt them and their club. With tension running high inside the club, it also is starting to cause a few problems between members. Loyalty and trust is being tested between Ayda and Drew as well as the club and trying to survive this ride as a whole is not going to be easy. So if you're in the mood for a phenomenal read, go grab this one up.
Absolutely amazing! When I really love the first book of a series I am always worried that I will be disappointed in the books that follow. Well, that was definitely not the case here. I just can not get over the way the storyline flowed, the writing which pulled at my heartstrings, and of course Drew and Ayda. Oh Drew…. Every time he called Ayda " Darlin' ", I got goosebumps and I now secretly wish my husband would call me Darlin' .
I had a really hard time closing the book after reading the last page. I really was not ready to let Drew and Ayda go on their way and I am now officially in a major book funk. I highly recommend this series and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Oh my god I don't even know where to start telling you how good this book is! It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me stay up late to read just one more chapter that was never just one more! People everywhere need this book in their lives!!!!
