Ghosts We Unmask
Not yet published
Expected 19 Nov 26An abandoned house. A recent murder. And a ghost story brought to life …
Always a magnet for trouble, Michelle Watson befriends a newcomer who has unknowingly purchased one of Maple Springs’ most notorious farms. A murder on the property grounds only seems to solidify the townspeople's suspicions.
Pulled in by her twin sister’s curiosity, Chelsea Watson agrees to help as rumors grow louder. Logical and level-headed, she looks for explanations that make sense, even as the strange events at Bennett Farms test her confidence.
To separate fact from fiction, the twins and their friends do what no one else will: spend the night at the alleged haunted house. As coincidences mount, Chelsea and Michelle realize the situation may be far more dangerous than they anticipated.
Is someone using the ghost story to hide a darker secret? Or does Hazel still have unfinished business at Bennett Farms?
With their friend’s future on the line, the twins must uncover the truth before she loses everything she’s worked for, or worse, … before Hazel and Bennett Farms claim another victim.
The Watson Twins Mysteries are comprised of two series. Mini Mysteries (novellas) and Mysteries (novels). Each of our books has a complete mystery, so they can be read alone, but our characters and relationships progress as the series continues, so you may get mild spoilers if you read out of order.
Here is our recommended reading order.
Hours We Regret (Mini Mystery 1)
Chaos We Unravel (Mini Mystery 2)
Transactions We Expose (Full Mystery 1)
Coffee We Spill (Mini Mystery 3)
Skeletons We Find (Full Mystery 2)
Ghosts We Unmask (Mini Mystery 4)

September 16, 2026Another enjoyable story in the Chelsea Michelle mystery series! I appreciated the faith themes and the discussion about superstitions. If you want a semi-spooky read this fall, pick this one up as soon as it's released!

I really love these Watson twins mini mysteries! The connection between the twins as well as the banter among their friends is so much fun. They are Christian books and often pray or quote scripture throughout the books as well as looking at different aspects throughout with a Christian perspective. While the full stories in the series are actually quite long, these mini stories are quite refreshing and only take a few hours to read.

Ghosts We Unmask might be my new favorite of this series! I loved the Scooby-Doo vibes, the day after I finished the book it was raining and gross so I had a Scooby-Doo marathon with the kids, it was totally called for and made this book even better. Maybe watch a few before reading??? Grab some Scooby-Snacks? Really sets the mood.
This series is comprised of mini mysteries and full length books. They go togther and while each book is a self contained mystery the lives of the characters do continue through out so they need to be read in order. Reading order can be found on the authors website.
This is the creepiest book in the series by far. I may have thought twice about getting out of bed in the middle of the night to use the bathroom... but I am a big wuss about these sorts of things so take that as you will. Either way, rest assured, Scooby-Doo style there is no "ghost".
I will say it agian Rom-Com mixed with Cozy Mystery might be a new favorite genre for me. You come for the mystery but you stay for the relationships. These are also Christian books and I enjoyed the scripture and talk of God and fears/prayers, more so than I have in previous books.
It is so hard to write reviews of mysteries because you do not want to give anything away! Ghosts has me so so so excited for the next book in this series, which is going to be a full length. I seriously can not wait, you can just tell some big things have been set up in the characters lives... and love lives. The Chealsea Michelle mysteries have turned into favorites for me and I wish I could gush more but everything I have to say would be spoilery!
The authors generously gifted a copy of the book to my ever growing horde of books taking over my house. My opinions, like my book horde, are large, uncontrollable and mine.

Truly can’t get enough of this series. The new characters keep coming and I love them all! This was on the spooky side, and though I’m not much of a detective, I did not see that ending coming. Fun fun!

This book was pure fun. As a reader who grew up on Scooby Do, there were loads of great memories thrown in and all the pranks, as well as the classic Chelsea Michelle shenanigans. Thoroughly enjoyed this story!

The newest Watson Twins Mystery continues to be every thing I LOVE about cozy mysteries!!! This is a mini-mystery so it’s novella length ~ I read this in less than 24 hours because I couldn’t put it down 😂
The mystery honestly surprised me, the culprit was not who I was expecting!
The friend group is in top form and I just love them more each story. There is a bit of romance but it’s clean.
The faith aspect is spot on, as always, and I really liked the conversations they had about trusting God and whether superstitions have a place in a Christian’s life (*spoiler alert* They don’t and I loved the points the friends made) If you’re a bit thrown by the title, just know that it’s very clear from the start that nobody actually believes in ghosts. The whole thing was handled really well!
This continues to be one of my top favorite cozy mystery series and I cannot wait for the next mystery!

Another delightful mystery, sure to be loved by any Scooby Doo fan! There are multiple references to the original Scooby Doo show that brought a smile to my face. I love this series and this book is a wonderful addition to it. I do recommend reading this series in order, although each mystery is solved, there is an underlying mystery/arc that continues in each book. I’m always excited to read a Chelsea Michelle book because I know it’ll put a smile on my face and bring joy to my heart. And the mysteries will keep you guessing with plenty of twists, turns, and red herrings! I was completely off on who I thought was responsible in this one, and that doesn’t happen often. I read an advance copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions in this review are honest and my own. Don’t miss this one, definitely recommend!

Another book, another mystery for the Watson Twins! 🔎📚 These girls just can’t seem to stay away from a good mystery!
This time, they’re investigating a haunted house! 👻🏚️ And if you’re a Scooby-Doo fan, you’ll love all the fun little nods throughout the story—from the Scooby quotes to the Scooby Snacks! 🐾🍪 It definitely gave me those classic mystery-solving vibes!
But one of my favorite things about this story was the way it includes Biblical discussions about superstitions and the things we don’t need to fear as Christians. Even in the middle of a spooky mystery, the focus continually comes back to Christ and what the Bible says. ✝️📖
This mini mystery was such a fun, quick read and the perfect spooky-season read! 🎃🍂 I loved getting to read it early as an ARC, and I can’t wait for everyone else to read it!

Another great book from the pen of Chelsea Michelle, aka Amanda Tero Matthews and A.M. Heath. I received an advance copy for editing/review purposes. Once again, I wasn't able to figure out the mystery before it was revealed.

Chelsea and Michelle have done it again with another lovable Watson Twins book! I don’t know if their writing is getting better or my familiarisation of the characters has grown over the series but I’m really enjoying the members of the Dinner Detectives, and feel so at home and familiar every time I pick up a new instalment. I love the dynamics between the characters and I’m also enjoying some of the more faith based content that is coming through in the stories - alot of which I can relate to. Loved the setting of this book and the adventure that they go on and I think it’s the perfect segway into the next full mystery in the series - which I can’t wait for!

This latest edition of the Watson Twins mysteries is written in the classic Scooby Doo style. What a clever idea! I grew up with Scooby & the Mystery Inc. Gang, as so many of us did, so I was instantly intrigued. Chelsea, Michelle, and the rest of the Dinner Detectives do their best to uncover the secret of the local haunted house. Ghosts We Unmask is a fun story about friends helping and encouraging each other with a side of high jinks. It is interesting to see friendships and faith grow as the characters move from book to book. I didn't guess whodunit, but it was thoroughly entertaining!

I considered skipping this one, as I am not a fan of ghosts, but when the authors clarified this wasn’t a supernatural story, I decided to give it a try. The title does already give the ending away – ghosts are unmasked.
I appreciated the conversation about “Christian superstition” – very thought provoking!
The characters didn’t shine through quite as strongly in this story. I felt a lot of what was happening was repetitive. However, at this point I feel like they’re my friends, so I’ll stick around anyway. ;)
I’m curious to see how things develop in the next book.

I always enjoy the twins and their antics. This story will be the perfect read for October. It grabbed my attention from the first minute. But I'm dying to read the next book!!!

A nice read that moved quickly and featured all the characters from the Watson Twins mysteries. Just as a caveat, part of the story touches on stalking, though not a lot and it gets resolved.
At the beginning of the story, we see Michelle in her element, showing why people love her so much as her high emotions cause her to take a stranger under her wing. The stranger has just bought a "haunted" house to flip, but before she can do that, the Dinner Detectives have to stay overnight in it. Just the right amount of creepiness in the “haunted” house kept the story moving.
Another unresolved question – we never found out who slashed Michelle’s tire in another mystery. Now something happens to Chelsea that never is resolved.
I look forward to the next book about boyfriends. Is Chelsea right to view Michelle’s boyfriend with as much suspicion as she does? Will Michelle succeed in setting up a boyfriend for Chelsea?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.75 read
As both a beta reader and ARC reader, I really enjoyed Ghosts We Unmask. This is another strong installment in a fantastic YA mystery series, and it continues to build on the relationships we’ve come to love, especially between twins Michelle and Chelsea.
The haunted house made the perfect backdrop for an engaging mystery. And Michelle’s tendency to find herself in unusual situations made a compelling story. I especially liked that the mystery surrounding the person stalking her is still unresolved. It left me eager to see what happens next. My only reason it’s not quite a 5-star read is that the middle section slowed a little, with quite a bit of dialogue, although that did deepen the already established relationships.
Overall, this is an enjoyable, believable YA mystery with memorable characters, strong friendships, humour, suspense and a compelling overarching mystery. If you’ve been following Michelle and Chelsea’s adventures, this latest book won’t disappoint, and the ending will leave you looking forward to the next one.

This is a fun and exciting mystery to the continuing story of the Watson twins, with a Scooby-Doo twist. The story builds on the mystery that runs throughout the whole series as well as strengthens the bond of friendship between characters, plus has plenty of funny moments and dialogue and action reminiscent of a Scooby-Doo mystery. Definitely a fun read!
