Someone stole a story. Now they’ll do anything to keep it.

A stolen manuscript. A charming bookshop. And a betrayal hiding in plain sight.

When Ellie Fitzgerald arrives in Quillhaven, she’s looking for a quiet reset, not a mystery wrapped in jealousy and ambition.

But when her uncle’s unpublished novel is stolen from his laptop, Ellie is pulled into a puzzle no one wants solved.

With two perceptive, clue-sniffing cats at her side and a steady, kind-eyed carpenter whose calm presence grounds her when doubts creep in, Ellie begins asking questions. Every visitor to the shop becomes a suspect. Every explanation feels just a little too polished.

With magic in the air, romance on the horizon, and danger tucked between dusty shelves, Ellie must solve the case before the final chapter is written.

Because in Quillhaven, every story matters… especially this one.

If you have never gotten lost in one of Quillhaven'stories, then you are missing a magical town, wonderful characters and the absolutely adorable Leo and Luna.

The magical town of Quillhaven has a new resident, Martin's niece, Ellie.
Ellie left Portland heartbroken and in need of a new life and a new beginning.
She came to Quillhaven to help her Uncle at Chapter and Chime Bookshop. She noticed that her Uncle Martin was typing away on his laptop but when she asked about it, he just said it was nothing.
Getting ready for an Author Event with Jessica Diaz and Ellie is trying to get her Uncle to get more involved in Social Media. He is reluctant to do so. On the day of the event, Martin's laptop is giving him problems and he has Trevor come to look at it.
Trevor worked his fingers and the laptop was as good as new.
Few weeks later, Martin's secret nothing is showing up on the internet under a woman's name and everyone commenting loves it.
Ellie, Martin and the adorable Leo and Luna are determined to find out how it got there.

Highly recommend this magical story.

Ellie arrives in Quillhaven to work in her uncle Martin's charming bookshop and start over after a bit of a heartbreak. She's expecting a quiet reset, not a mystery to be solved. But when someone steals Martin's unpublished manuscript, Ellie decides to investigate. So, she and the carpenter, Justin, who's been working in the bookshop, along with the cats, Leo and Luna, set out to find a thief. Meanwhile, the magic of Quillhaven fights back and on top of that, romance blossoms between Ellie and Justin.

I've really enjoyed this series and this book's no exception. It was well-written with likable, well-rounded characters and a fast-paced plot. This was a quick, fun read and an excellent addition to the series. I was drawn into the captivating story and kept hooked from start to finish. I love the small town setting with the deep connections of family, friendship, and community. The romance was sweet while the mystery was intriguing and fun to solve. I loved the book and am looking forward to the next one. I highly recommend both book and series.

Tessa Silver has done it again. Another cute, cozy, fantasy mystery in the marvelous town of Quillhaven.
Ellie arrives in Quillhaven after a messy breakup with her boyfriend in Portland. She moves into a small apartment above the Chapter and Crime bookshop which is owned by her Uncle Martin, who first appeared in the last book.
Martin is writing a book but somehow it is all of a sudden being posting chapter by chapter online. No one knows how that happened.
Lead by the magical cats Leo and Luna, Ellie starts investigating along with the carpenter Justin.
This is a quick, easy read with a cute little mystery. Several people from previous books appear. There are surprises, suspense, mystery and a growing romance.
Leo and Luna are at their sleuthing best and add humour.
I just love this series.

After a tough break up with her boyfriend, Ellie arrives in Quillhaven to help her Uncle Martin in his bookshop Chapter and Chime. She moves into the upstairs apartment and gets settled, then goes downstairs to join her uncle. This is a delightful book with two talking cats, Luna and Leo, who keep things lively. Luna is a gentle soul while all Leo thinks about is treats! Uncle Martin has been writing a book for two years and says he has two chapters left to finish. When the book starts appearing in segments on line, Ellie vows to find out who has stolen his book. She has four suspects and after repot he theft to the Chief of Police, starts investigating. A fun and somewhat quirky book you are sure to enjoy!

There is a story to tell in A Novel Theft and you will want a comfortable chair to sit in, while you read it. Sit back and enjoy. Ellie comes to Quillhaven to start fresh after a breakup. Her Uncle Martin, owns the bookstore, where she will be working and living over, in an apartment. Martin has a secret, he is writing a book, but doesn't want anyone to know. What if it isn't any good? Time will tell, after it's stolen. Quillhaven will allow you to feel the magic in every word and take you on a journey of hope.
I was given an ARC of this book by the author for an honest review.

I loved this book. It had a great story and great characters, as well. Leo and Luna never disappoint. Tessa always does a great job of writing with her books, and she never disappoints. This one kept me guessing about who actually did it. I love Tessa's books because her mysteries are not about death.

This is a book of new beginnings. Martin took over his parents bookstore. Ellie, his niece who just had a terrible breakup, moves to Quillhaven to work on the store. A thief steels 2 years worth of an unfinished book Martin has been writing.
All the Quillhaven community regulars are here. With some added characters Ellie and Martin set out to find the thief.

This is the story of a stolen novel belonging to the owner of a bookshop. He had just finished writing it when it suddenly shows up on a website with a different name attached to ownership. It magically starts scrambling.
