I’ve finally had enough time to process everything. Sadly no quotes this time cause knowing myself I’d put way too much😭, but the things said between these characters had me melting to the damn floor.💋🖤
Oh my lord, this was pure magic, I was hooked, I was sat. I’ve literally fallen past obsessive, I’m so addicted to this novel, & her writing in general.🖤 The emotions I’ve felt in this book, emotions I never thought I’d feel in such a long time, even the damn tears. These characters, the development they had, the sibling bond was so sweet and beautiful, OH MY LORD SEBASTIAN THOUGH.🥴🧎🏻♀️ Plus the hot bonus of having Ares too?⁉️‼️ Oh, hell yea, I’ve fallen so deep, I don’t think I’d ever want to leave.💋🖤 Oh, don’t even get me started with Leo & Theo, the chemistry between them, I was kicking my feet and giggling like a little kid eating ice cream on a sunny day. I swear I’ll never get over these characters. I worship these characters just as much as they worshiped each other.🥴🥴 This story was beyond amazing, the dynamic, you could feel it as if you were there. Kat, you did an incredible job, I’m so in love.💋🖤
Overall it was beautiful and worth the read despite the shocking plot twist, got me staring the wall literally, and I loved it.🖤 I love these characters, the story, the setting, they all hold a special place in my heart & soul. Kat I love you so much, I can’t wait for what will happen next. Babes, I’m desperate for the continuation of this novel.💋🖤

Watching her navigate such a treacherous world had me completely on edge — every chapter raised the stakes higher and higher.
What makes this Victorian romance even more captivating is that you don’t just get one love story — you get two. Enter Theo and Sebastian. Both are irresistibly compelling in completely different ways, and the emotional tension they bring to the story is everything. Katerina St. Clair has crafted these characters so vividly that they feel real, layered, and impossible not to fall in love with.
The world-building is phenomenal. The academy setting, the atmosphere, the intricate social dynamics — I could easily picture every character and every scene as if I were watching it unfold in front of me. The plot is filled with twists and layered elements that constantly leave you wondering what will happen next. I found myself anticipating every page, and more than once, I was left completely speechless.

HOLY MOLY!! WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN OMG 😭 first and foremost I wanna thank Katerina for allowing me to read this amazing book. Words cannot describe the emotions I went through reading this book. Kat you wrote an amazing story you have me needing book two now haha. The beginning of the book had me hooked! The world building is so beautiful you can tell that Katerina put so much in creating this world, not to mention the creatures that followed. The characters I fell in love with them, ughh one character gave me the ick and I’m glad he was only shown brief in the story unless he’ll be In book two. The sibling dynamic between Liam and Harper is so beautiful to me. The chemistry between the characters ughh i loved it so much especially between Liam and Theo 😍😍. The way the secrets unravel had me grasping for more because what do you mean there’s was a block!? UGH THE FACT THE ARES IS JUST 🥵😍 so is Sebastian but Ares 👀. The magic and blood magic just everything about this story is so beautiful, and a plot twist I wasn’t expecting in the end. The yearning and the worship 😮💨🥵 not to mention the raven story 😭 that tore me apart. Highly recommend reading this book if you’re looking for a dark fantasy romance that’s also set in the Victorian era 💕

It’s a rare experience to come across an author who possesses the ability to describe their story in a show / don’t tell way and have their readers on the edge of their seats throughout the entire journey. I was at war with myself between devouring this masterpiece within hours of receiving it and taking the time to absorb the world as though I were there myself.
As someone who loves stories from the Victorian era, I loved how instead of nobility, we have an MMC who has nothing to his name, and still offers the world to his love, even when it feels just out of arm's reach.
The switch in perspectives is done with such fluidity that I felt each character’s ache of pain, wave of frustration, and shimmer of joy.
Most importantly, the raven story is one that will forever be embedded into my mind, the message that it makes, and the agony you feel for the characters in reference… its one that will change my brain chemistry forever.

So firstly, I just want to say how much I loveeeee the sibling dynamic between Harper and Liam🥹❤️
But otherwise, this story was SOOOO good✨✨🤤this story is during the Victorian era (which I feel is super rare for stories now & I think Katerina does it sooo well here!) and follows a darker romance style! In this story, we have an MMC who come from nothing but has SO much to give. Normally, the MMC is my least favorite character, but Kat makes him so lovable and you just dream for him to have better!

I’m such a huge fan of Katerina’s worked and have devoured everything she’s written. I really wanted to take my time with this book knowing how well she keeps you hooked, buuut I’m fucking greedy and demolished this quicker than ever. I wish I could reread this for the first time 🥹
The world building alone is simply stunning. The twist and turns keep you questioning everything. Like, WHAT DO YOU MEAN!? *insert Jennifer Lawrence gif*.
I ADORE Sebastian but the minute Ares entered the chat… I JUST KNEW 👀
Can a girl love them both? I know I can!
The raven story was heartbreaking but beautifully written.
Katerina knows how to rip your heart out, shove it back in and have you asking for more.
