In 1067, William the Conqueror was changing the course of England’s history forever.
As the sister of a Saxon baron, Lady Elisande knew life would never again be the same, but she wasn’t prepared for this one knight.
Sir Henry de Vere was under orders to conquer and secure Rosewyn Manor by any means necessary—including marrying the baron’s daughter, who was rumored to be a rare beauty. Prepared to do his duty, the last thing he expected was to find a white flag of surrender, ordered by the courageous Saxon lady left behind.
Making the jump from corporate lawyer to romance author was a leap of faith that New York Times, #1 Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Meghan March will never regret. With over thirty titles published, she has sold millions of books in nearly a dozen languages to fellow romance-lovers around the world. A nomad at heart, she can currently be found in the woods of the Pacific Northwest, living her happily ever after with her real-life alpha hero.. Well well well… look who just strolled into historical romance and absolutely nailed it 👀💫
This is Meghan March’s first venture into the corsets and knights era, and instead of going heavy and intense, she gave us something light, charming, and completely addictive 🏰💖
From the very first page, I was hooked. The story flows so easily, and it’s the kind of read you breeze through with a smile on your face. No overwhelming angst—just a fun, romantic escape that hits all the right notes ✨📖
And the hero? Ohhh he was actually such a sweetheart 🥺🛡️ Yes, he’s a knight, but underneath all that armour is a genuinely kind, swoony man who had me soft the entire time. No brooding overload here, just pure, feel good romance energy 😍
The chemistry? Effortless and cute 💕 The vibe? Light, flirty, and easy to fall into 🌸 The whole book? A little romantic treat I didn’t want to end
What I loved most is that it still felt like Meghan March; engaging, addictive, and fun but with a softer, more playful historical twist.
If this is her starting point in historical romance, I am so ready for more. Give me all the knights, all the sweetness, and all the light-hearted romance 🙌📚
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved it—sweet, swoony, and such an easy, enjoyable read 💖
Definitely not my usual genre at all, but this author is one of my favs, I'd read anything she writes. When Henry comes to conquer the enemy's land and castle he never thought he would meet his wife, he actually cared for. Elisande was left alone as the lady of the land, she was waiting for the enemy even as cruel as she thought them to be. What she didn't expect was how caring Henry was and how quickly she would fall for him.
I spent nearly 20 years reading historical romance, and I FINALLY WROTE MY OWN!! I absolutely loved every second of writing this story about a conquering Norman knight and a courageous Saxon lady. It was always one of my favorite time periods, and it WAS SO MUCH FUN! I love it. I love it. I love it. I hope you do too!
I was very excited to read Meghan's first ever historical romance! I love the tales of knights and maidens and rescues by horseback and this did not disappoint! The story is vivid and I was instantly whisked off to the time of kings and princesses. So much love and excitement and suspense! Two thumbs up!
Meghan March writes at a very high level. Good story, interest characters and plenty of action, twists and turns. This was a cutsey little story. I expected a Meghan March book and that's not what I got. Plus all the books to come are novellas for $5. each. Not the author as use o be.
Meghan March is back!!! Loved this book! Excited to see new releases it’s been a longggg time since Meghan released new material and I’m here for it. Your fans are so happy you are back Meghan. Loved reading Henry and Eli’s love story. I want more from these two characters.
Very enjoyable and interesting. Possible not an historically correct novel, but total fiction, and very believable. Sir Henry seemed very galant and the heroine a very strong character too. Good descriptions and inter actions between characters Would love the characters to be developed further.
So good, but so short. I loved this book so much, and I miss Meghan when she isn't writing, but we all have life and lessons to deal with! I am so happy with this book, I will probably re-read it this weekend!
I do love a historical romance. This was a charming story, although so very short. I know it's a novella, yet it just was so short. I don't mind a novella if it is part of a series. For me, a longer story would have been better.
I have read about more than 27 of MM books and loved this adventure into historical romance.. This à feel good historical action book which did not drag on or have a slow burn Well done MM
This novella was all right. Easy light reading. The plot was pretty simple with one small moment that had some suspense. I did like the MCs Sir Henry and Elisande.
MM is a top shelf author for me. Buttttt, that was an awful short story. No character builds,no scenery descriptions. All seemed rushed. The ending was blunt. Very disappointing.
