Sweet Chaos #3

Fly's Path

Sheridan
Evicted…
This is the third time I’ve been evicted, and instead of dealing with the problem, I do what I always do and walk away from it…well, more like fly away to one of my best friend’s wedding reception, which is being held at a motorcycle gang’s clubhouse. Being surrounded by sexy bikers isn’t usually a problem, except I’m not the type to kiss a man once…or twice and walk away.
Though I am the type to forget what I was doing and walk away from most anything, which is why I’m in this predicament. That kiss changed something in me. Maybe it’s finally time to start dating.
Fly
I’ve always known how dangerous a kiss could be, but until her, I didn’t know how addictive it could be, either. My brothers and I have enough going on with the club. Getting distracted by a beautiful woman isn’t a good idea right now. If things go wrong, she could get caught up in the crossfire…

Fly's Path is a no spice dark motorcycle club suspenseful romance, featuring steamy kisses with a decided lack of cursing and violence.

This was such a great addition to the Sweet Chaos series!

If you love protective MMCs, this series absolutely delivers. Every single book somehow manages to introduce another hero that steals my heart, both Vandal and Fly were no exception💛

I also really enjoyed the addition of the third POV. It made the story feel different from the previous books, and I completely fell in love with Vandal and Lola. Their relationship had me rooting for them from the very beginning and I sincerely hope we get to see more of them in future books!

One of my favorite things about this world is how interconnected everything is. There are so many familiar faces from both the Sweet Chaos and Sweet Atonement series, so I’d definitely recommend reading them in order to fully appreciate all the character crossovers and relationships.

And can we talk about Sheri’s friend group? I adore them. Watching each of their stories unfold throughout the series has been one of my favorite parts.

My final thoughts:
NOOOOOOO!! That ending could not have been the end! 😭😭 I immediately needed the next book. I have so many questions, and I honestly can’t wait to jump back into this world.

Fly and Sheridan are so fun. There are tons of Easter eggs in this book regarding old/new characters and I enjoyed every minute of it. I think my fav parts were all when Sheri and Fly were transparent and honest with each other. Neither of them really wanted to have miscommunication and it showed. Though, Sheri did leave out some important details….lol

There’s a 3rd pov in this book and it worked really well for me. The side story/character arc/love story was fantastic and I’m glad we got to learn a bit more about Vandal and what he’s been up to while fighting against drug deals and trafficking.

I highly recommend this book for those going through the series. Although there are some suspenseful elements, it honestly felt like a warm hug 😂 enjoy 🫶🏻🫶🏻

This group of friends is so much fun to read! Sheridan has not had an easy life and I loved seeing her endurance. She is prepared to overcome anything and everything. She is so strong and self-sufficient. She finds a safe space in the most unexpected of people. Fly is exactly what Sheridan needs and oh boy does he deliver. I loved how fiercely protective he was of her and how he cared about her over everything.

Like every book in this series, there's mystery and suspense elements. This is a true page-turner and I binged it in 1 day. It's such an easy read and I never want this series to end.

This is an ARC review.
I’ll always pick up a book by Rora Noir. And honestly, I liked this story of Fly and Sheridan, but it wasn’t my favorite. I found Sheridan to be excessively stubborn, to the point that I was getting irritated reading it. I found myself more invested in the subplot romance. I’d definitely read Vandal’s story. But I will say, I loved that Vex and Dahlia had a major part in this plot. And that plot was more cohesive than it normally feels like.

I would give this book 3.5 stars. It got better but in the beginning it was like stream of consciousness instead of prose. It was weird, like it was written in not all complete sentences. But it did clear up some things left open from the other books in the series.

➡️ This story is for readers who want: dark romance, morally gray men, possessive/protective heroes, "touch her and die" energy, insta-love, and meet-cutes that involve kissing.

➡️ The overall story definitely has some darker subject matter such as drugs and the trafficking of children for sexual exploitation, which is why it is a dark romance. Toxic relationships and violence are never glorified.

This romance gets going FAST. Sheridan meets Fly because she's basically dared to kiss a biker at a wedding reception—and that kiss is basically their entire first conversation. 😂 So if you're looking for a slow burn and weeks of getting to know each other before the romance begins, this is definitely not that book! 🔥

Sheridan has never been kissed before, and Fly is ALL IN almost immediately. There is a LOT of kissing, instant attraction, and a hero who is already thinking about marriage after their first date. It's very much "I met her, I kissed her, she's mine forever, don't touch her." 😉

The possessive-protective energy is STRONG throughout this world. Between the biker clubs, Italian mafias, and morally gray vigilantes, these men are very much "she's MINE" and "touch her and die" when it comes to their women. If that's your favorite kind of hero, you're going to eat this up.

There are actually two love stories woven into the book—the main romance between Fly and Sheridan and a secondary romance involving an undercover character and a college girl. Both romances are very much insta-love, so the romantic relationships move incredibly quickly.

➡️ One content note for my fellow no-spice readers: There is one brief, unexpected moment involving a tattoo in a private/underwear-covered area (butt cheek). There are no graphic details or sexual activity, but it does go beyond my personal "everything in the undies zone stays covered" no-spice criteria. It seemed intended as a fun "of all the coincidences—maybe these two really were meant to find each other" moment, but it definitely caught me by surprise based on the content level of the rest of the book.

Overall, I enjoyed the fast-paced romantic suspense and the intensity of the characters.

📚 Sweet Clean Reads Verdict:
If you love dark romance with morally gray, fiercely possessive heroes, immediate chemistry, lots of kissing, and "touch her and die" energy, this is one to check out! Just go in knowing that the story deals with some very heavy topics and has one unexpected content moment for strict no-spice readers.

This dark romance has all the swoon and feels. Heavy topics aren’t danced around but you’re plunged straight into them.

The Sons of Chaos Biker Club is working tirelessly to be a shield for the innocent. They target those who prey on the vulnerable. These bikers can be ruthless at the drop of a hat, but when it comes to their women and their brothers, they love hard and protect fiercely.

After being evicted yet again, Sheridan meets up with her friends to celebrate Dylan’s wedding. In this Cinderella style story, she gets swept up into the extravagance of her friends’ lives while secretly being a pauper, unbeknownst to them.

Enter Fly. 🏍️

Sheridan and Fly’s story is filled with chemistry, banter, swoon, and a whole lot of intensity as they fall for each other. And these biker men? They don’t know how to love lukewarmly. When they love, they love with full force, passion, and possessiveness.

In tandem, we get Vandal’s story as he works undercover to draw out a notorious drug dealer. What he doesn’t plan for is falling madly in love at first sight.

While the banter is hopelessly romantic and borderline cheesy, it just works! 😂 And I will say…the possessiveness and “my woman” sentiment was level 10. So if that’s your jam, you’re going to LOVE these men. 🔥

🏍️ Tropes:
❤️ Love at first sight
🏡 Found family
🏍️ Biker club
🔫 Vigilantes
💪 Protective MMC
🔥 Possessive MMC
👀 Instalove
🕵️ Undercover MMC
✨ Cinderella vibes
💞 Strong friendship bonds
⚔️ Justice/revenge

Genre: Dark Romance

⚠️ Content Warnings:
• Kisses only (with tension 🔥)
• No language
• Heavy topics discussed, including prostitution, child trafficking, drug and alcohol abuse, physical abuse, death, and killing mentioned lightly

Normally, when I’m reading books in a series, the first book is my favorite but I was proven wrong!!! Fly and Sheridan are now one of my favorite couples ever! I love angst but then it has to be wrapped up with love and I’m good and I felt all of it while reading this book! I was sobbing while reading parts of this! I have never felt so relatable to one of Rora Noir’s female main characters before! Sheridan kept so man secrets from her loved ones and it broke my heart to see her surrounded by so much love but not letting them in. It goes to show how your perception can be so off when you’re going through things but don’t worry, Her eyes are opened and she lets her people in.

I don't know where to start with Fly other than he is amazing! His bromance with Vex was everything! I LOVED seeing a new side of Vex and how he cares so much for his found family!

I messaged one of the authors that I have never felt so single in my life while reading a book 😂

You get to see a lot of characters from the other books/series as well! I don’t usually care for books with 3 POV’s but this one didn’t bother me at all! You get to see what Vandal is dealing with and his own love story!

If you’re looking for a dark romance that has no spice and no cursing, you have to check this book out!

Sometimes you read a book and it’s like watching TV a Movie, right? But - once in a while you read a book and it’s like you just went to hang out with friends…. This series and actually any of the books I have read by Rora Noir (or Aurora Darklight) do that. They scoop you into their world and you get to immerse yourself in them for a while. **sigh** and the the book ends - and leaves you just a bit devastated 🤯
Fly and Sheridan are made for each other. They just fit. He is solid and steady - a refuge for her. Sheridan loves deeply and holds everything close. They both have troubled pasts that they have to overcome but Fly is strong and intentional about creating safety for her. I think one of the reasons I love these so much is the way the romance is ‘fated mates’ without being fated mates. There is no one else for these protective MMCs and the FMCS are complex, intelligent and strong.
We get to see the beginnings of a second storyline in this one as well and I am hooked, worried, and my mind is blown 🤯
No Swearing, No Spice 🚫🤬🚫🌶️
This is a ‘dark romance’ so expect darker themes like physical harm, trafficking, drug use - but these are stories about the morally grey men who fight the darkness.

As with the other books in this series, I love the protective MMC, the close brotherhood in the motorcycle club and the reappearance of previous main characters (looking at you Vex and Dahlia!).

There were aspects of the story I loved - the premise of Sheridan being homeless while Fly is super rich especially. I would have loved to see that explored more and seen more deep conversations between the two of them, but I found there was so much other stuff going on in the book that that wasn’t really the case. Also, there were some threads that did jot feel properly tied up.

There are a lot of side characters in this book. Some we’ve seen before and some are newly introduced. I would have loved a character key at the beginning to see who belongs to which group. And because of this, and because there is an ongoing mystery plotline in the series, I would highly recommend you read them in order, and also read the Sweet Atonement series as the characters overlap.

If you love a motorcycle club romance with no swearing, no on page violence and not sexually explicit, consider picking up this series for sure!

Thank you to the author for an early complimentary copy of the book!

I loved the protective MMC vibes and how the Children of Chaos (biker club) always have each other's backs and take care of their own. Fly and Sheri were a sweet couple and I loved their dates and the fun they had together and how safe Sheri felt with him. I do wish they would have had a few more important conversations about themselves and their lives and jobs.

The found family element is definitely big in this book and I loved how well everyone took care of each other and wanted what's best for each other as well. Vex and Fly becoming friends was a fun addition that surprised me and made me smile. I did have a hard time keeping track of all the different characters and who they were and who was connected to who though.

You'll definitely want to read the previous books in the series before this one and its helpful to read Dark Love (and the others in the series as well) to fully understand what is happening in this book. There was a lot of the mystery left open at the end of the book so I'm curious to see where it goes in the next one.

This was me 🕵️‍♀️ coming at another Rora Noir/Aurora Darklight book looking for clues.

This book is for you if you like a whole world of characters all tied to each other. ✔️
This book is for you if you like multiple protective men fighting trafficking and drug dealers. ✔️
This book is for you if you’re okay with some things being left unresolved because, rest assured, it will come up again in another book. ✔️

This one was set up different than the other books in the Sweet Atonement and Sweet Chaos series’ in that there was a third POV. It didn’t really make the reading awkward though because of the undercover situation.

Personally, it bothered me how Vex handled the situation with one of the rescues toward the end. I know he’s hinted at what he’d do to “help” before in other books, but this time he said it outright. On a positive note, Vex had such great character development in this book.

That cliffhanger though. 😅

Will I reread this? YES.

This review will be different...

I don't really know how to sum up this book. I have a love hate relationship with it, if I am being honest. I loved the side characters, more than one romance, the community, protective friends, and the fight for justice. The romances were definitely a high for me. I love the dedication, loyalty, and protectiveness of these men.

I struggled with what felt like a long, drawn out, day to day style of writing. There wasn't really a clear plot or direction to the story for me. At the halfway point, I put it down and decided to try other books for a bit. When I returned, I was pulled in much quicker, but I still felt like I was just listening in on the day to day of their motorcycle club.

This story follows Fly and Sheridan after an amazing kiss has them both considering their futures a little differently. It also follows Vandal as he works undercover and falls for Lola, a university student. Both men have risky jobs, making them wonder how close they should get to the women they are falling for. But when these men lock on, they lock in! They just have to convince the women of their feelings.

I do worry some of the relationships start with protection or physical attraction as the foundation, but I trust they will build more depth over time.

I gave this a 3.5 rounded to a 4. I enjoyed the characters and romances enough that I plan to continue the series.

Side note; this ends on a cliffhanger.

***In an effort to not add on... check other reviews for content notes , or reach out to the author and they'll help you decide if this book is the right fit for you.

I received this book as a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Every book with the Chaos club *ahem gang* keeps getting better and better. This is my favorite of the releases so far! Standalone but will have tiny spoilers for other characters if you haven’t read the previous ones. And honestly you need to read the others first to catch ALL the things they weave into the story.
Romance and language clean.
I think one of the reasons loved this one so much was because yes the main love story (Fly and Sheridan) but then you get another side love story that I loved just as much at times, but also you get to see a whole new side to Vex and it’s fantastic! Seeing him “make friends” 😂😂 and also you get new introductions to future characters and a little nugget of someone new that will be interesting to find out who it actually is. 12/10 would totally recommend!

This book was delightful on several levels!! Their meet cute, the banter, all the feels - tension, attraction, her insecurity, his MINE vibes, all of it was just so good! That’s just one part of what made this book so fun. Add in a side character romance, more of Vex and Dahlia, the continued twisty mysteries, adventure, danger, and swoon - 👩‍🍳💋👌

Some favorite highlights:

🤭 Vex making friends (I’m still so giddy!!!)
💀 The levels of protection
🥰 Security in Fly’s arms
👏🏼 Team ups!!
😍 The love and deep feelings
😎 Motorcycle club bros having each other’s backs
🥹 Found family, so sweet!!

This book kept me entertained and was easy to read for hours at a time!

I adore these characters -- the friendship between the women is beautiful and loving, and that brotherhood beaten the man is fierce! I love how all these connections between the characters are being forged.

Speaking of, there are multiple budding romances going on in this book, even though Fly and Sheridan take center stage.

And Vex cracked me up when Sheridan starts crying. 😂

But that ENDING! How tall gonna leave us hanging like that! I'm already excited for the next one because I'm a knitter like Savie and I Fly plan to live vicariously through her story. But now we need that book ASAP!

⚠️ No cursing
🫑 Kisses only

As always, it was a pleasure ARC reading for you! 🙏🏻

Such an amazing book! I love this series so much! I love that this book could be a stand alone but connects to other series the authors wrote. It makes the story have so much depth.

Fly and Sheridan are such a great couple and have great backstories. I enjoyed learning more about them after having a peek of them in other books. Their love story is fabulous, right along with that meet cute!

This book is dual POV, with a bonus POV from another character, and is kisses only. It’s got lots of mystery that will pull you in and make you want to read more!

Thank you so much to Rora Noir for this ARC and happy release day!

My rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ (4.5 stars rounded up)

I was so glad to be back in this world! I will say that the only book that I read in this world previously was Dark Love so there is a lot that I missed in between, but it made me excited to go back and read all of the books. Fly and Sheridan were such fun characters. I loved seeing Vex and Dahlia and everyone else again. Each love story is wonderful and the overarching plots are so intense but so interesting, and especially after that ending, I can't wait to see what happens next!

great cliffy at the end!

I like fly a lot! Sheri was a bit mysterious i liked that about her!

their story was good but i felt she did a lot of running, and her pride was getting in the way. It was slightly annoying.

Loved how she got missed. the Viola and the vincenti family.

we also got Vandal’s pov and his story with Lola. it was a great break when the Fly and Sheri got deep.

i surprisingly loved Vex”Maverick” in this story. every scene with him had me laughing!

I love how she keeps it funny and brings lightness into it, even though it is handling some dark topics. Each character is just so good! I love these tough on the outside, extremely protective men of their woman, but equally love their awesome women!! Enjoy both series!!
