Romance readers listen up! This is going to be your new favorite Summer read, I just know it! I’m not a romance or spicy reader, but I genuinely enjoyed this book. I was SO invested in this couple’s relationship; I thought their snappy banter was so funny & cute. And the chemistry between them? Wowza! Talk about a spicy book! The casual hangouts where these groups of friends poke fun at one another reminded me of my own friends. And the writing had me right there in the room playing poker or enjoying a night out with the characters! This story is light & fun, but definitely tugged on my heartstrings and really made me feel for the characters by the end. The only reason this book falls just below a 5 star rating for me is the length. I felt it could’ve been just a bit shorter or less detailed in certain areas. But overall I enjoyed reading this and I’m already looking forward to the next one!
Rick and Summer 😍 This book threw me right back into college. Study sessions, too much coffee, constant social contact, and that new love that makes you question everything. At times, I wanted to strangle Rick and Summer for not just saying what they were feeling, but then I remembered what it was like being 20 and navigating relationships while balancing school, friends, and life in general. Rick's friends are so much fun and I loved seeing the friend groups merge on St. Patrick's Day. Hoping to see more of that in the future!

Holy debut!! If this is how Simone is starting off her author journey, I’m already excited for what’s coming next—both in this series and beyond. This is absolutely one to add to your summer reading list.
If you’re a fan of The Deal or The Love Hypothesis, you’re going to LOVE this book. It has that same addictive mix of humor, tension, and heart—but with its own fresh voice. And yes, we love a math queen.
This story really pulled me back into my college days—the stress, the chaos, the feeling of trying to hold everything together while trying to figure out who you are. Summer, our FMC, is so easy to root for. She’s driven and controlled on the surface, but underneath that is someone just trying to stay afloat. Watching her navigate pressure from school, family, and her past felt very real.
And then there’s Rick. He’s charming in that effortless, slightly chaotic way, and what I loved most is how layered he is. He’s not just the “fun distraction,” he’s dealing with his own uncertainties about the future, which makes his connection with Summer feel balanced and genuine. Their dynamic is where this book really shines. It’s definitely a fast burn, but it still carries emotional weight, especially as they start to see the parts of each other they don’t show anyone else.
If I had to say anything, I would’ve loved just a bit more time with certain emotional moments—they hit, but I wanted to sit in them longer. Still, that didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the story overall.
Perfect Solution delivers messy hearts, humor, and a relationship that feels both chaotic and grounding at the same time. Definitely a standout debut.
