I've been pretty down on Marvel lately. They seem to be looking to make things as cheap as possible and not maintaining the quality they used to. However, Chip Zdarsky is one of the few writers there that I still trust and that trust was rewarded.

This is part of the lead up to the next big event, Armageddon, and one that Zdarsky is writing. It delves into all of the Super Soldiers that have been created over the years. Wolverine is out to help one specific one and the unknown Captain America, David Bolton, from Zdarsky's Cap run is in it too. Nuke returns as well. Zdarsky seems to have a good grasp of what he's planning to do with Armageddon and this mini convinced me to pick it up instead of pass on it.

Great stuff!

Colton is easily one of the best new characters introduced in the marvel universe in some time. His story in cap was great, and excellent here. Wolverine is used as a great placement of a old man trying to figure out if he's worth forgiveness. The Nuke storyline is solid, not great, but everything else in this mini really works to set up the Armegeddon event incoming. I really dug this.

I read the component issues for this collection. Zdarsky is doing a great job with this and the Cap series he's writing.
