This is an alternate cover edition for B00QXD9Z72

Sometimes the Hell you fear isn’t a place at all. Sometimes it’s the life you’re living. A life filled with darkness, isolation, guilt and remorse - for a sin you’re convinced you committed, yet can’t remember. A life filled with shallow relationships – because the risk of opening your heart is more frightening than living with your inner demons.

On the surface, Angel Lawson is a poised, confident photographer and successful gallery owner. But underneath, she lives her days in constant fear of exposure, and her nights tormented by nightmares. She has spent years building impenetrable walls to keep the demons at bay.

And then she meets the powerful, persistent billionaire, Ethan Wilde… the one man who sees past the barriers and bravado to her brokenness. Ethan is as intense as he is sinfully sexy. A man so irretrievably captivated, he is determined to possess her – mind, body and soul. But can he help her heal it?

Can Angel risk leaving her ‘safe’ life behind, or is the choice no longer hers?

Ethan Wilde is used to getting what he wants… and what he wants is Angel.

Kendra Leigh fell in love with words and reading as a young child. She was at her happiest when Enid Blyton whisked her away up into the magical lands at the top of the Faraway Tree with Moon-face and the rest of the gang.

Now, of course, she has more of a fondness for chocolate, cheese and hot men in suits – not necessarily in that order.

Kendra devotes her life to her devilishly handsome partner, scandalously beautiful daughter and cute as hell Shih-Tzu. She believes in love at first sight, and as well as writing and reading, Kendra has a passion for great movies and brilliantly written TV.

She enjoys writing emotional romantic suspense stories with strong female leads and men that will go to any lengths to fight for the women they fall for. Her books have a perfect blend of darkness and light.

Title: Bound For Hell (Bound Trilogy, #1)

Author: Kendra Leigh

Release Date:  March 6th 2015

Genre: Erotic Romance

Series Reading Order

Bound For Hell
Bound For Salvation
Bound For Nirvana

OK, so this another erotic romance trilogy with a billionaire in a penthouse but it’s a really good one with a modern day Cinderella theme. It’s dreamily romantic with plenty of emotional drama and eroticism with the perfect hero to root for in Ethan Wilde and a sweetheart of a heroine that we can easily identify with in Angelica Lawson.

It’s not insta-love but it sure is insta-lust as the very first chapter smoulders with erotic heat. Ethan and Angel spot each other across a crowded restaurant and their attraction is undeniable and incendiary and they just can’t resist that erotic pull between them which leads to a highly charged, super hot encounter in a closet. They don’t even speak and Angel beats a hasty retreat accidentally leaving behind a diamond pendant (see the Cinderella theme?) and that is all Ethan has to trace her as she disappears into the night.

Oh, Ethan Wilde – be still my beating heart. This is one incredibly hot, mega-possessive and very sexual billionaire. He can’t get Angel out of his head and sets about pursuing her in earnest. Ethan is American but has lived in London for a long time so he has a British accent – he’s actually very wordy with a vast vocabulary and very gentlemanly and this all adds to his appeal. He’s a man that knows what he wants and what he wants is Angel. He’s falling hard and fast for her and that is bringing out his possessiveness and protectiveness and he can hardly stand to be apart from her. I developed a serious crush on Ethan – not only is he very sexy and protective of his new girlfriend, he’s also very caring and doesn’t appear to be carrying much emotional baggage himself. Or does he?

 photo angelica quote_zpswy5jdmwv.jpg

Angel, at the beginning of the book, is very much the single girl about town in New York City. She revels in her independence and doesn’t think that she needs a man in her life, only casual hook-ups, but nothing can prepare her for how hard she’s about to fall for Ethan. Angel has a troubled past having been brought up by a very cold-hearted father after her mother died and I really did feel for her. She’s carrying around a huge amount of guilt for something for which she’s been blamed by her rat bastard of a father and she’s struggling to move on from this. Ethan seethes at this and his attempts to get her to talk and reassure her that she wasn’t to blame really were profoundly emotional. Every girl needs an Ethan!

 photo hell is no place_zpses7sbz7e.jpg

As this is the first part of an erotic romance trilogy, there’s a lot of scene setting here as we get to know the main characters. I had a bit of a soft spot for Angel’s best friend Jia who’s snarky, bitchy, sassy but fiercely loyal. Also, Jackson, Ethan’s right hand man – I just adored him too. There’s no cliffhanger at the end of this one but it’s clear that the story is only just beginning. Angel definitely has a stalker and that’s terrifying Ethan and, although we got to know a lot about Angel, Ethan is still a bit of a closed book. There’s a few hints at troubles in his past but they’re not yet expanded on and I suspect this will be the theme for the books to come.

 photo dirty girl quote_zpsxvshaxjn.jpg

So, Bound For Hell, is the opener for what promises to be a memorable erotic romance trilogy. It’s very much an emotional roller-coaster as these two fall fast and hard for each other and attempt to overcome their personal difficulties together. . It all felt so incredibly real to me – nobody is perfect, everybody has flaws, they disagree, they scream and yell at each other, fight like cat and dog and indulge in lots of seriously hot make-up sex! There’s great emotional intensity to the sex scenes which will have you all sighing happily.

Dreamily romantic and erotically charged, Bound For Hell is a highly accomplished debut from Kendra Leigh and the beginning of what promises to be a fantastic new and suspenseful love story. Part two, Bound For Salvation, is due for release in June and I can’t wait! Bring. It. On.

4.5 SEXY ASS Stars****

I get emails every day asking for reviews and honestly I just don't have the time to review every single book out there, I have a family and a job so I'm a choosy reader and this is no disrespect to any author who has tried to reach out to me I just choose the books and authors I love saying that sometimes I take a chance and chose a new unknown author to read and I after reading this synopsis it grabbed my attention so I went forth and read it, being slightly dubious to start with but hecks yeah this was AMAZING for a debut book/series this author will definitely go far making me realise I should definitely pick these books up more often.

Onto the Review
This is a gem of a story that I would explain as heavenly erotic mixed with a good amount of romance and sensuality. You have Angel who has a talent for photography and knows what she's looking for concerning her career, she is in her element and thrives behind the lense.

 photo camera gif_zps83eu3sh8.gif

Then you have a wealthy STRONG DOMINANT and SEXY MAN Ethan who is in business and earns a wealthy amount daily, he's English but is currently living in the US. I suppose these two are goal orientated and thrive to live by working and then concerning Angelica has hook ups, one night stands but nothing that makes her feel or get connected closely to anyone, she wants just that and is happy the way it is. Except one night there is an inst-lust moment where Angel sees Ethan and likewaise the other way round they can not resist the effect each of them has on each other, so this becomes a passionate soak your panties half hour where they loose themselves in each other, yet Angel runs from the scene leaving Ethan wanting more.

Let me explain a little about Angelica, she comes from a troubled close off past and a upbringing where she was very much ALONE a form of neglect in many ways where she only knew pain and didn't have much to look forward to yet as I read her inner thoughts I saw how naïve and insecure she was and how she put a wall up to protect herself from going through that again even if she wants love I suppose she just doesn't know how to find it, and at the same time she lets the people who hurt her in time and time again because she knows no different. Except I also found that she has a personality where she just attracts happiness and has some good friends that give her enough love to live day to day, so when she see's love right in front of her she does nothing but run.

 photo 12DA7733-2BC6-4E82-A1A8-DA9F89D0A7D4_zpsfgyosbgd.jpg

Ethan though is a man not to be reckoned with, when he see's what he wants he goes after it and angel is who he wants there is an instant-love here and their Chemistry is off the charts but once they embark on a relationship and see where this takes them you can expect a lot of bedroom action or more like a lot of fireworks, you as a reader will have a lot of pleasure from reading this especially concerning Ethan who is Dominant in his actions he's protective of Angel and will do anything to keep her safe and maybe a little over he top still because of the emotional aspect of the story those scenes became more Intense and down right DIRTY to say the least.

 photo kissgif_zps6e212f45.gif

But this has an intriguing plot that also keep me on my toes throughout, secrets that unfold but also they are getting to know each other and are finding out about their pasts and how they grew to be who they are now.

 photo 3B962180-6F68-45C2-B92D-7317D55339B5_zpszw2foeol.jpg

Angel has a darker past that I personally feel we're just learning the beginning of, I feel that this is the start of a journey of maybe a little self discovery she has been very much alone as I have stated earlier so there is an essence that she needs to learn how to lean on Ethan to warm her heart and not feel cold and closed off from the people who care around her, maybe also see what's right in front of her eyes.

 photo 8C3254CC-22B2-4C39-BA08-7B3F3239DC72_zpsmdrqhorh.jpg

Ethan becomes very protective of Angel and does seem to be controlling at the beginning then I could see why it was needed, I am thinking that Ethan has a lot of secrets that we need to find out too, this is book 1 of 3 so we will see this unfold gradually. There is that Angst feel at parts but if your wary of that I wouldn't say it was problematic but more keeping you going to try and uncover the puzzle that is THEM.

 photo 2FD56DDB-B99E-4464-93BC-AF223AE2C392_zpsbsolotz1.jpg

Overall this was a joy to read and I'm so happy I took the chance to read it, I will also say that for a new author the writing was so good, I understood what was happening I suppose at times there was a little too much detail into things but overall I see his author going far and I see good things for this couple overall this was a sexy, heartfelt, suspenseful and romantic read.

PS if your concerned about a cliff hanger this book ends on a happy note.

Ethan and Angel see each other through a crowded restaurant and can't keep their eyes off each other. It's instant lust that they just have to address. She ends up running off leaving her diamond slipper necklace behind.

Ever read a book that starts off sooo good that you can't wait to finish it only for it to take a left turn about halfway through? Well, that was definitely this book for me. Even the cheesy Cinderella references didn't bother me.

description

What did bother me was when Ethan became super possessive and controlling and the author started channeling Fifty Shades of Grey right down to the elevator good bye scene. It didn't help that the amount of sex scenes were amped up and some of the descriptions were just over the top.

But there is just something about Ethan and Angel together that makes me want to know more. Something that gives me hope that they can work through their lack of experience to make their relationship work.

And the Ponyo incident was a killer!

There's a lot of loose ends, naturally, since there are two more books in this trilogy. *Fingers crossed* that the next ones are better.

Re-read ((1/1/2020) : Pure enjoyment…AGAIN !

Bound for Hell is Kendra Leigh debut novel and book one of The Bound Trilogy. She is such a gifted writer!

How I loved this first book in the series. In some way it made me think of one of my top favorite series Up in the Air by R.K Lilley. There were some similarities that pulled at my heart, a hero to die for, totally devoted to his other half, an ultra-possessive Alpha giving everything he have and more. Ethan didn’t fear to expose his real feelings from the very beginning, making clear that Angela was everything to him. I loved the profoundness of his words and his unconditional love and how he showed his suffering towards her for the events she went through with her hateful father and the constant moral abuse she endured during her childhood.

I also liked Angel. She was headstrong and I enjoyed watching her growth with the love and support of her man.

The sex scenes between these two were blazing HOT. The characters felt real and the author made me love them from the very first page.

An absolute delight to read and I highly recommend it!

When I first started reading Bound for Hell, it didn't immediately capture my attention and I was thinking it would only be a four star read. Yeah, that lasted until I got like ten percent into the book and then something happened that just completely sucked me in, made my heart ache, made me feel helpless, and made me seethe with rage. It changed my view point of this book and that moment, and every one after it, made the story worthy of five stars. I absolutely loved this amazing book!

Ethan Wilde, as if his name wasn't sexy enough already, is just utterly irresistible! He's rich, gorgeous, caring, protective, dominant, and possessive. And as if that wasn't enough already--he's American, but he has an English accent!!! You get the best of both worlds with Ethan Wilde: on one hand you have the passionate, shows-and-expresses-his-emotions American and on the other you have the sexy accent! He's so much more than just his accent, good looks, and wealth though; he is just so wonderful with Angel and he had me swooning a lot! I loved the man--he's d*mn near perfect--but oh, that man made me angry because he is hiding something and it's going to blow up in his face when whatever he's hiding is revealed. I'm sure he'll be sweeping you off your feet though when you meet him!

Angel Lawson. What can say about Angel Lawson except my heart just completely broke for her? Her past, and even sometimes her present, tore me up. She's been through so much that she didn't need to and it just makes me furious and want to seriously smack some sense into certain characters. It's not hard to see why Ethan fell for her or why she inspires the urge to protect in other people. Angel is kind and sweet and the last thing she wants to do is hurt someone. She tries to be positive and see the good in people even when it's not always wise. I'm not blind to fact that she has some serious issues that she needs deal with before the end of this trilogy, but I still loved her character.

Bound for Hell is full of beauty, heartache, laughter, tears, secrets, lies, and sex! Really, really HOT sex!! It's going to take you on wild, mysterious, danger-and-heat filled ride, so brace yourself! It's just an excellent book and I loved it!

Bound for Hell is only told from Angel's point of view and there are still many questions that I can't wait to have answered, but also am little anxious to learn about in Bound for Salvation! ~ Paige, 5 stars

~~~
I flowed through this book on waves of highs and lows. The highs were wonderful! A random, passionate fling in a store room. So hot! A sexy as hell rich man with an English accent. Perfection! A woman who is strong willed and talks back. Sassy! I loved the relationship Ethan and Angel developed, it was beautiful and strong and oh-my-god sexy.
The backdrop of characters had a huge impact on the highs of this story. Jackson, Ethan's dependable right hand man. Loved him! Jia, Angel’s best friend, adored her! Even Angel's family was well written, and I hated them so much for the way they treated her.
The downs for me were scattered through the book, and just kept me from riding high the whole way. Ethan is so possessive, and while Angel talks back and appears feisty, she just lets him steamroll over her. The ‘instalove’ is always a little difficult to deal with, especially from characters who swear they don't commit. Then the jealousy level between them was off the charts, and a little annoying to deal with. It's difficult to fully trust a love that doesn't have mutual respect and trust.
Overall it was well worth the ride, however, and I turned straight to book two so that I could see what happens next. ~ George, 3.5 stars
Bound for Hell
I give this book 5 charming stars.....
This ARC was given by Kendra Leigh in exchange for an honest review.
A modern day Cinderella story, yet Cinderella does not lose her glass slipper at a ball; she loses her diamond pendant in a linen closet while having amazing sex with a complete stranger, Prince Charming.
Angelica (Angel) Lawson evades her brutal past by never committing to a relationship. She only does hook-ups and refuses to commit to nothing more than a good fuck. She came close to being in a long-term relationship once, but betrayal ruined any hope for Angel to give relationships a fair chance. It doesn't help that her father is a complete arse and treats her with no respect, and her younger twin brothers also show no emotional connection to her either. Hence why Angel has no problem making arrangements that only involve sex.
Angel leads the life of a very successful photographer, gallery owner, and a stunningly beautiful woman. She only trusts her best friend, Jia, and her beloved goldfish, Ponya. While out celebrating her best friend's birthday, she becomes memerizied by a beautiful Adonis. Not only is she captivated by his stunning good looks, but she too captures his attention as well. After what seems like hours of hot intense staring contests, Angel makes the decision to relieve her sexual tension by doing something she never imagined before. She leads the beautiful stranger to a linen closet for a quick fuck. He is immediately hushed to silence and the sexual attraction and need is undeniable, so she has the best sex of her life with a stranger in the closet of a restaurant. She bolts out of the closet immediately after they are finished and is relieved to know she will never see the beautiful stranger again. Never say never, because she eventually finds out how determined and powerful this beautiful stranger truly can be in and out of the bedroom.
Ethan Wilde is the soon to be CEO of Wilde Inc. He demands whatever he wants and wherever he wants it, however he can't deny the instant attraction of a beautiful woman from across the restaurant. After the mind blowing sex in the closet, he is shocked to find she quickly disappears. After identifying the mystery woman, he pursues her with flowers and phone calls. He becomes her Prince Charming by returning her irreplaceable diamond pendant (that was lost during the closet escapade) that is her only memory of her lost mother. Neither Ethan, nor Angel have ever had a relationship which makes their need for one another unexplainable. Will her turbulent past and nonexistent relationship with her family keep her from committing to the only man she can't seem to live without? Will his powerful and successful life lead her into danger?
This well written story will embrace your heart and keep it beating with suspense. Kendra Leigh includes hot love scenes, instant attraction, and mystery to keep you turning the pages. I could not put this book down and look forward to the rest of the trilogy. Thankfully, there is no cliffhanger to leave me anxious and angry for book two. However, not knowing the ending to this modern day fairytale leaves plenty to be wanted. I look forward to more books from Kendra Leigh.
I can say that it has been a long time since I have read a book where I could not predict where it was going to go but this book I feel like I have no clue where it is going or what is going to happen...Ethen and Angel's story has friendship, family issues, betrayal, grief, loyalty, secrets, hope , really hot sex and love. It doesn't end on a cliff-hanger it does just end but currently reading the second book , I can say there is much more coming..
4 STARS! ★★★★
**This review covers the entire trilogy series.**
Let me preface my review by saying that very rarely you would find me reading and reviewing an erotica series, let alone one that has a sexy billionaire hero. I've been let down by this trope one too many times in the past so I've tried to avoid them like the plague. However when one of my trusted book buddy suggested and loved this series, I decided to take a chance on it. And hey, I could always use some extra guilty pleasure read in my free time ;)
All I can is holy WOW. When I started the first book, I didn't think I would devoured this entire series in one sitting. There were a few things in this read that shouldn't work for me but surprisingly, it didn't bother me too much. I wouldn't have believed that this is a debut author's work because the writing sucked me in easily and the story flowed so well. The MCs had more depth that I initially thought and it was interesting to see how they developed over the series.
The Bound trilogy is a sensual-filled journey with a modern infusion of a Cinderella theme. We have Angelica 'Angel' Lawson; the damsel in distress who's a photographer with a troubled past ever since her mother passed away and living with a father who neglected her growing up. Then in comes Ethan Wilde; Prince Charming in the form of a sexy, powerful billionaire with a (swoony) British accent. A chance encounter fueled with insta-lust was the spark that set things in motion for them. It was a sexually-charged read as they battle out their attraction for each other yet knowing being with each other could be their undoing.
Despite the rather cliche-sounding plot, I really enjoyed being surprised by how many twists were there throughout the entire trilogy. Especially with the 3rd and final book that really packed a punch there with several surprises I did NOT see coming. Both Angel and Ethan had to overcome several hurdles both as an individual and a couple and I thought it was nice to see how their relationship developed over the course of the trilogy. Also I felt there was a nice balance of emotional scenes overlapping with the steamy scenes plus some humor laced in at times to even out the angsty moments.
Overall this was definitely a series that served well as my guilty pleasure reading and I was glad that I took up to chance to read it. The only aspect that deterred me from rating it higher was that I could have done with slightly less sex scenes and cut down of certain repetitive phrases. But other than that, I thought this was a great debut series from this author and will keep an eye for her future work!
Angel has herself “Bound to Hell”, that hell is her past. She cannot let go of the blame she carries over her mothers’ death. Her father and brother blame her and have since treated her like an outcast. Never feeling love from her family makes her keep people at arms length, not wanting to trust them since anyone she has ever trusted with her heart has broken it.
That was until Ethan Wilde. It only took one glance across a restaurant to stir something inside of Angel; “the intensity of his gaze was so enticing it seemed to lure me to him like magic-as though somehow we were bound by an undetectable wire yanking at my awareness.”
Needing to act on the only thing she knows Angel engages in what she does best, a physical tryst with no strings attached. She has never wanted anything beyond sexual needs, but this encounter was different. This stranger threw her for a loop and engrained himself into her mind; she could not shake the thought of this romp in the storage closet.
Ethan not only cast a spell on Angel, but had fallen under one as well. He needed more of this woman like he needed air to breathe. She cannot seem to shake him either not knowing at the time that he was New York’s most eligible bachelor who just happens to be a billionaire.
"I was drawn to this man in a way I couldn't comprehend, as though he were a missing part of me which I'd unwittingly been searching for. And for the first time in my entire existence, I began to breathe."
Can Ethan control his jealousy? Can Angel bury her past? Can these two survive all of outside challenges facing their relationship?
This was an entertaining debut novel from Kendra. She dug deep into these two deeply emotional characters and I am glad to know this is a trilogy because I know this is just the tip of the iceberg for these two.
BOUND FOR HELL is an intensely erotic, instant attraction romance between two people looking for seemingly different things. Angel is from a wealthy family that is exceptionally dysfunctional. Loosing her mother young, she has a contentious and destructive relationship with her father and one of her brothers. Angel works hard to prove her value to herself and her family by establishing her own business and making a name for herself in the art world without the emotional or financial support of her family. Angel's difficult relationships have lead her to believe that quick unemotional encounters with men with no mind for future attachments is the best way to live her life. That is until fate brings Ethan Wilde into her life.
Ethan is successful and wealthy and needs nothing from Angel other than to have her for himself. Ethan isn't afraid of what a relationship with Angel could be, but he has his work cut out for him gaining Angel's trust. Ethan is there for Angel after a particularly nasty encounter with her father and provides a comfort that she didn't even realize she needed. Ethan offers Angel something that she is afraid to take. After living a life protecting herself from further heartbreak it is extremely difficult for her to take a risk. If you are a fan of the sexy, dominant, billionaire reads Ethan Wilde has all of the qualities that you will need.
BOUND FOR HELL is full of steaminess and the physical side of their relationship happens right away so there is major insta-lust. This is the first book in a trilogy so there is a cliffhanger at the end.
It took me 2 days to chug through this one. Insta-soul deep lurrrrve, unrelatable characters, weird family dynamics and a crazy bff who says "bitch" at the end of every sentence made this very hard to get through. The only redeeming quality was imagining the "hero" say those filthy, yet proper things in his English accent during the sexy times. I may have actually lol'd.
ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review
This is the debut of author Kendra Leigh and the first book in the Bound Trilogy.
From the onset this book just grabbed me and especially when the two main characters Angel and Ethan first meet with eye contact across a crowed restaurant. The build-up of tension and intense passion was oozing from the kindle that I almost thought I was there observing in the flesh. I knew then I was in for a deep and luscious read!
Angelica (Angel) is a self-established photographer and has worked hard to build up her business without the support of her standoffish family of her father and twin brothers. After a tragedy when she was a child, her family have treated her as an outcast so from that young age she has grown up with no love and little reason to rely or trust on others. Therefore she does not do relationships, especially after her one attempt that ended when her boyfriend turned out to be married. So now when she has an itch to scratch she has casual hook ups. Recently that has been Jean-Paul, a younger man who is now showing he is feeling more for her and becoming obsessed. Angel now feels she needs to tread more carefully with who she hooks up with, that is until the stranger in the restaurant when all her carefully laid out cautions get tossed to the side when she leads the man to that storage cupboard.
Ethan Wilde is scorching hot and an instant hit for me. Billionaire, controlling, caring but ultimately sex on legs. The sensuality I felt oozing from him was a big draw and I applaud the author for her cleverly spun words that made that happen. Ethan is a flip of the coin to what Angel has gone through, his family could not be any closer and he has always felt the love and support of his family. With a mega billion company to run of which he was soon to take over the CEO from his father, his time was much in demand, so relationships for him were not a priority but after one intensely passionate moment with Angel, he just knew he had to have more.
I love d the instant attraction and passion that was established for this pairing but I also loved how Angel fought against it and not in the way most other whiney females do in books. No she knew what she needed to do but in the end she knew what she had to do and grab a chance at happiness. It wasn’t an angst filled read and the relationship was quickly elevated to pure devotion and plenty of steamy passion! However it was the undercurrent of a suspenseful and intriguing side story that delivered that and which is yet to be resolved in the next books of the trilogy. I liked that the book did not end on a cliff-hanger and more of a happy for now ending.
There was one element of the book that did grind on my nerves and that was Angel’s best friend Jia. I just couldn’t warm to her and I found myself rolling my eyes whenever her dialogue was on the page. The way she spoke was, I guess supposed to come across as if she was kick-ass but to me it was annoying, especially when she kept referring to Angel as ‘b***h'. Now I know friends do call each other in jest but this was every conversation she had with Angel and it annoyed the heck out of me. I hope the author removes this from the future conversations as otherwise it will continue to spoil my enjoyment of this series as I LOVED everything else in this book.
Overall a fabulous five star read (and would have been a five star PLUS if Jia had not been in it!) full of love, laughter, tears, mystery, secrets and PASSION. Oh yes the passion. Brilliant!
This book blew my mind. Sucked me in from page one, and kept me on the edge.
I absolutely LOVED Ethan. He is the perfect specimen of a man. He's smart, successful, and sexy has hell. Best part? He's a genuine good guy.
Angel is a photographer with her own gallery, trying to run from the past she can't forget, thanks to her father and brothers. Her only means of escape are getting lost in her work and meaningless, no-strings-attached sex.
Until a chance encounter at a restaurant forces her to re-evaluate everything she thinks she believes.
Ethan and Angel had chemistry from the moment they laid eyes on each other. Literally, no words needed and you could feel the heat between them. They are off the charts sexy together. This book is full of absolute panty-melting scenes. But that's not all. There is a ton of emotion and some suspense (which I LOVE!) as well.
Kendra does a fantastic job displaying Angels emotions. Angel is a very sweet character, who at times seems like a bit of a doormat, but only when it comes to her family. She's also a bit naive, only in an endearing sort of way.
Ethan is kind, considerate, did I mention sexy as hell? He's also persistent when it comes to Angel. But as we get deeper into the story, I get the feeling theres a little more to Mr. Wilde than Kendra lets on in book 1.
That being said, this is the first in the series, so there is a bit of a cliffhanger. Overall, I very thoroughly enjoyed every part of this book and am anxiously awaiting book 2!
*There are minor spoilers in this review. Please proceed with caution.
When I initially agreed to review Bound for Hell I can honestly say I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Now days it seems like a lot of the books start to blend together. So I'll be completely honest in saying I didn't know what to expect. But anything I could've ever imagined feeling for this books, times that by a million and it still wouldn't be enough. Let's just say this. I freaking loved this book.
Angel. What a horrible family this poor woman has. She doesn't deserve any of the crap her father and her brother throw at her. At all. I'm so intrigued to find out what's the deal with them and why they treat her the way they do. I love the fact that I'm left guessing. And then there's Ethan.
Whoa...if that intro for them wasn't crazy hot enough, the rest of the book will make you want to take at least 3-4 cold showers. Ethan is pretty damn amazing but you can see there are secrets to him as well. I can't wait to find out what it is, and I definitely can't wait to see what happens between the two of them.
I'm grateful I had the chance to read Bound for Hell. I truly hope you'll give this series a try. I would have been missing a hell of a lot if I hadn't!
Received an ARC for honest review
If you are a fan of the crossfire series you will enjoy this series.
Where do I begin? I would say it is a 4.5 stars. I know it is going to be a trilogy and there should be some things left hanging but I feel that all the things were left hanging, nothing that was brought up was finished.
We have Jia's change, Angel's family, Ethan's secret, and J.P. That is a lot to leave hanging, I understand you need to leave things out there for a trilogy. I feel the ending was ended just so it could pick up in a second book.
I can honestly say it has been a long time since I have read a book or watched a movie where I could not predict where it was going to go but this book I feel like I have no clue where it is going or what is going to happen. I think that someone close is going to betray Ethan and Angel but that did not happen, I mean besides the fact that her family blames her. Then I was thinking there must be a secret coming from her mother's life as to why the father acts the way he does towards her. So we shall wait for book to see where this is going.
REVIEW - 5 STAR
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Angel, was terrified of relationships, her idea of a relationship was just sexual, she would love them and leave them so to speak. Although a stunning looking woman Angel will not commit to any man. She works hard, plays hard but none of the guys mean anything to her.
One night everything changes she catches the eye of Ethan Wilde and her heart races, she is immensely sexually attracted to him by his terrific looks and amazing body, and by the way he looks at her in return it is clear he feels the exact same. Angel ends up sleeping with Ethan, she decided before hand that he is probably a love them and leave them kinda guy, but is she right? Could Ethan want more?
Well that is all the information I am prepared to disclose relating to the actual story for fear of spoiling it, but, I will tell you this is sexually explosive, the sex scenes are explicit, it's not just hot it's on fire, the Author writes so beautifully you cannot help but be swept away in this terrific story.
Kendra Leigh’s “Bound for Hell” is the first racy book in the Bound trilogy. It’s sort of along the lines of Meredith Wild’s Hacker series or Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series. Ethan, the leading man, is very sexalicious (much less of an ass than some of the other broken billionaires out there). It is chock full of amazing sex scenes. This definitely goes on the read one-handed list! I can’t wait to read the rest of Angel and Ethan’s story.
A great first book of three. I really like the female character, Angelica. Has had a broken/damaged childhood. Despite of all that she is still strong and deals with her shit. I need to know more in the second book. And the male character, Ethan is to me still a mystery. And I like that. Hopefully more will be revealed in the sequel. Can't wait and want more cause it's so good and their relationship is what drives this book.
Overall Rating: 4.25 Rockin’ ★★★★
This book is a cross between Cinderella and Fifty Shades of Gray. You have your mistreated princess, two evil brothers and a wicked father. Then there is Prince Charming trying to win his Cinders love and save her from her cruel family. This Charming also just happens to be a billionaire bad boy that takes no prisoners and anyone that tries to hurt his Cinder will answer to him.
In this first book in the Bound Trilogy, author Kendra Leigh tells a story of untold mental cruelty towards an innocent, by those that should have protected and cared for a broken child. Treated like a step-daughter from the tender age of six, Angel Lawson has accepted her father and brothers’ accusations and taunts about her worthlessness, and how she killed her mother! Growing up in this kind of environment is debilitating, especially when you are made to feel invisible and unloved. The lesson she has learned is keep your heart guarded, protect yourself by not letting anyone get close and keep relationships to sex only with no commitments. That is until her eyes connect with a man that she knows will change her life forever, Ethan Wilde.
The explosion of chemistry between the two is so intense that neither can deny the need for the other. Will Ethan be the one that helps her heal? Ethan Wilde is not only wealthy, incredibly handsome, and one of the most eligible bachelors in New York, he is also from a nurturing family. His family had always been supportive and loving. When he meets the woman of his dreams it is difficult for him to understand the life that she has known and the heart wrenching horror of living with so much guilt! You will laugh with Ethan and Angel, cry with them as they try to heal and feel abhorrence towards evil that some people take joy in administering. Jump on the Angel and Ethan ride and find out if they get their HEA!
Hero: Ethan Wilde 4.25 stars
Heroine: Angel Lawson 4.25 stars
Steam: 4.25 stars
Plot: 4.25 stars
Cliffhanger: Yes
4 Sweet Steamy Stars!
This was truly a erotic romance with a swoon worthy hero and a very sweet heroine. Yes, it's a story with a billionaire but this heroine is no virgin. Angelica, the heroine, is a photographer with a successful gallery. She only does casual sex. Angel comes from a family of men, to include younger twin brothers and a father that show no affection towards her. She is not close with them due to something that happened in the past that changed their lives and they've blamed her for since.
One evening, while out with friends, Angel see's a extremely handsome man. There's immediate attraction which they act on that ends with a sexy encounter in a storage closet. Ladies, let me introduce you to Mr. Ethan Wylde! He is one sexy, possessive alpha male and, oh yeah,he's a billionaire! These two have chemistry that's undeniable. After the steamy encounter, Angel regrets her acting on her lustful attraction and runs for cover. Too bad or thankfully, Ethan isn't the kind of guy to not pursue.
I really enjoyed this story. Yes, there were times I couldn't relate to the heroine and the way she allowed and defended her family and their poor treatment of her and I found myself frustrated. However, I can only imagine how lonely she felt and craved for any kind of affection. Ethan definitely delivered. He was was endearing, affectionate, attentive and very possessive of Angel. Although at times, I was like whoa, what??? I kind of understood his actions, which I hate to admit by the way. I really liked this hero. He was exceptionally perfect but there were a few clues leading to some possible imperfections for the next book.
All in all, this was a very enjoyable read with lots of steam and a sexy hero. Congratulations Kendra Leigh on your debut novel. I look forward to reading the rest of this trilogy.
Well - it didn't take me a minute to be dragged into this book - no hope of putting it down to take a break. Angel is amazing - dealing with problems from a young girl and bullied emotionally by a father who doesn't deserve the title and a nasty, pigheaded brother, she Has another brother who is not so bad, but doesn't help much. She doesn't trust relationships and so she just has sex on a casual basis so she doesn't get involved.
On a night out with friends, she meets Ethan - the hottest, sexiest man she has ever come across and wow!!! The connection between them is explosive. She still treats it as a one off - but Ethan wants more and pursues her. The results are hot and hilarious at times.
There are so many problems that throw themselves in their paths. Mysteries on both sides, which you know are going to affect their relationship. Watching how they deal with things takes your breath away at times and you don't know who is real friend or foe. The end of book 1 came too quick - I was left thinking I should have got all the books together, but I will just go back and read it over again and stay in touch with Angel and Ethan - what is it that is going to come to light and will cause more troubles for them to overcome??? Kendra Leigh - you have a sure-fire 5 star winner here and we can't get enough quick enough so pleeese hurry with Bound for Salvation. Love this book so very much. Review written by Maggie Smith.xxoo
Angelica (Angel) Lawson has been living with guilt her whole life. Trapped by demons of her past, she shuts herself off from love. Physical connection is as far as she will go. When she meets Ethan Wilde, she finds someone that sees through her defences.
This novel blew me away! I found the instant connection between the two characters like something out of a movie. You can almost imagine the sparks flying. There are some tender moments between the two and of course LOTS of heat! And I mean Kindle melting heat! The story kept me wanting more and there were moments when I laughed ( a certain scene with a DVD), moments when I cried and when I was so angry I couldn’t see straight!
Angel is a flawed yet strong character. Her family show no emotion toward her which I think is why she shuts herself off from allowing others in. I look forward to seeing how her character progresses in the next novel.
Ethan is an enigma. His love and passion for Angel is clear from the word go but he also seems to be hiding a secret. It is not known what it is exactly but I hope all will be revealed soon!
Kendra Leigh is a fantastic writer and this debut novel from her is amazing. I cannot wait to read the next novel in this series!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this novel and it is FIVE HOT STARS from me!
Angelica Lawson
Ethan Wilde
Let me just start out by saying, I really loved this series. I happen to be very partial towards books with very strong heroines, and the books in this trilogy didn't disappoint! Angelica has had to face many obstacles from the people many of us hold dear to our hearts. Having said this, when she meets Ethan Wilde, her life of earning the acceptance of others is completely thrown out the window. With his charismatic and accomplished persona, Angelica is able to come out of her shell and work through her problems with a man that has demons of his own to conquer.
Kendra Leigh has quickly become an author for me to keep an eye out for because the way she builds her characters and suspenseful plots, I am eager for the next roller coaster ride she takes readers on in her future works.
Until next time my wonderful readers,
Wow, 5 stars!
I cannot believe this is a debut novel, the writing is simply superb, and the story just flows like a dream. I always know how much I enjoy a book by how much I'd want to relish and treasure every word, every sentence. By whether I would want to revisit every sentence just to prolong the reading, and yet at the same time anxious to read to the next sentence. And this is exactly how I've been behaving when I was reading this book. And the editing is wonderful as well. I love the characters, I love Angel and I love Ethan. They feel real - not like a type at all. I mean yes Ethan is alpha and possessive, but he's not without flaws and he has his childish moments as well, and Angel - she was broken and troubled, but she's not all just naive and pure and innocent, she too is not just a type. I love that there is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, that frustrates me here in this book. Too many times an author just tries to inject angst into a situation that just renders it artificial and superfluous, and for us readers, frustrating as hell. It angers me so much to read the childish mis-communications and unbelievably incoherent thought processes the h/H generates in those books in order to produce angst. Nothing like these happened here, praise the Lord! I just cannot get enough of this book, I'm going to treasure every word in this series.
This debut novel encompasses all that is good for this genre and opens us up to an emotional enthralling story of two souls brought together.
Angel, flawed through tragic circumstances and at odds with her family who blame her for a past she cannot change, nor should she be blamed for.
Ethan a successful, sort after batchelor who’s very presence seems to mesmerise women round him, however he can only see Angel after a hot yet brief encounter.
This story is fast paced, pulling you in from the get go.
There are similarities to Bared to You, but that is absolutely not a criticism, the similarities are very much in a good way and what I mean by this is, that I am invested in Angel and Ethan’s story as I was in Gideon and Eva’s and yet there is plenty about this story that is so much more than that. I mean this as a compliment to the writing of Kendra Leigh, I believe she brings a great deal to the table and has a great future in writing.
So much happens in book 1 and it has left me chomping at the bit for more.
Angel finds herself drawn to a stranger, while celebrating her friend's birthday. His looks cause all sorts of tingles through out Angel's body. As she glances at him, she seems to have the same effect on him. When she lets her self go, she finds herself with this sexy man in a storage room, having the best hot sex she's ever known and when it's over she runs to a cab and away from him.
Ethen is entranced with the woman in Eden's that night. With all the sexual tension in the air and between them, he finds himself in the storage room with the sexy stranger. Being with her, taking her, was the hottest sex he has ever had. When she runs from Eden's to a cab to escape him, he makes it his mission to find out who she is, because he wants her.
Ethen and Angel's story has friendship, family issues, betrayal, grief, loyalty, secrets, hope and most of all, love.
I love the way these two characters interact with each other, pushing each other, finding each other and themselves.
Angel is beautiful and broken. The way her family treats her is appalling. When her tragic story comes out its heart breaking. Ethan & Angel's attraction for each other is like no other. They burn up the pages with their sexual encounters. Just when they find a comfortable rhythm to their relationship Ethan has to travel on business. This brings up all kinds of insecurities on both ends. Danger is lurking and Angel is the target. There are underlining hints that Ethan has secrets, but nothing has surfaced as of yet. Overall the book was even-keeled, I was hoping for more drama on Ethan's end but I think that is coming in the next book. Lot's of hot sex scenes. Fabulous ending- you wouldn't necessarily know there were 2 more books coming so it won't drive you crazy to wait until June when book 2 is due out.
I was given a copy of this book by the Author for an honest review.
BOUND FOR HELL is a sensual love story. I really enjoyed this story and cannot wait for more. It has mystery and a broken love interest that needs to be put back together. I really liked the character of Ethan Wilde, he is such a great guy and keeping Angel safe. I wish I had my own Ethan. The characters and story line is well-developed. The love scenes were very hot. Trying to review this book and trying to not let any spoilers out is very hard. I just want to tell you about the whole book, but I can’t. I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens next. I give BOUND FOR HELL 4/ 5 stars. I recommend that you read this book when it comes available.
ARC REVIEW. ***SPOILERS***
This story was wonderful. These characters are so entwined with each other. Angel has such a complicated backstory. Her family is just awful to her. She has not had anyone that cared for her since her mother died. She finds it very hard to open up and let anyone in. When she meets Ethan, she is immediately drawn to him. She is feeling things she has never felt before, and it scares her. When Ethan has to go to London on business, Angel gets all kinds of bad thoughts in her head and starts pushing Ethan away. But when Ethan comes home, he is determined to make her understand that his life doesn't work without her.
I am anxiously awaiting book 2!
