EXTINCT - Sabertooth Ridge: A Prehistoric Survival Thriller

Rate this book
Something was buried in the ice. Now it’s awake.

Cole Maddox knows the mountains. As a wilderness guide, he respects the cold, the terrain, and the storms. But he has never seen anything like the facility hidden in the deep valley of the Timberline.

Hired to escort a team of investors and scientists into the frozen wild, Cole thinks it’s just another high-paying babysitting job. He’s wrong.

Inside the compound, a disgraced geneticist has achieved the impossible. He hasn’t just cloned a fossil; he has resurrected an apex predator that evolution tried to erase. A hunter designed for the ice. A killer that doesn't just stalk—it ambushes from above.

When a massive winter storm severs their communications and buries the facility, the power fails. The fences go down. And the Smilodon gets out.

Cut off from rescue and hunted by a beast that sees them as slow, soft prey, Cole must use every ounce of his survival skills to keep the group alive. But in this valley, humanity is no longer at the top of the food chain.

It was a good read

The story kept my attention from beginning to the end. There were characters you rooted for & those you thought they got what they deserved. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. Well thought out by the Author in my opinion at least. I would recommend this book.

Good

I liked the storyline and characters. The main character was a bit too robotic for me. I would have preferred Cole to be a little more human. He was very short and to the point, it would have been more interesting if he had shown some kind of feeling. All in all, it's a good story. I wish these could have the animals treated better.
