Too Rough For Love (#1) Too Wild To Ride (#2) Too Fast For Hope (#3)
When the Steel Veins MC rolled in, Star's life was changed forever. Her only chance of surviving the vicious gang lies in the hands of a terrifying, yet dangerously handsome biker, Remy "Poet" Daniels.
But Remy's MC has twisted itself into something he doesn't even recognize anymore, and as long as the two remain with the club, he can't keep Star safe.
All alone and hunted, they are forced to overcome rival clubs, hit squads, corrupt cops and death itself.
Their old lives reduced to ashes, one young woman and an outlaw are forced to trust each other to survive. Can Star live in his violent world, or is Remy's love just too rough?
Author's Note- Hang on tight! This is a fast, brutal, explicitly sexy and heart-wrenching series. This thrill ride is NOT for the faint of heart!
Adair Rymer lives in New England and loves whiskey and her cat. She is always daydreaming of lovers and how to push the her own literary boundaries. She loves her motorcycle and her men filthy and is keen on a hot cup of Coca Tea.
And above all else, she loves the people who buy her books, who encourage her to continue living her passion.
I have not read anything by Adair Rymer so I had no expectations of what I was about to read. I found myself wanting to keep reading to find the ending. Star was living with her aunt and uncle and going to college. One afternoon changed her whole world upside down. Remy was riding with the Steel Veins MC club. He was a dark soul with an even darker past. Him and his brothers rode up to a gas station to settle a debt. Things went and worlds got changed. Remy saw Star while his brother and other were dealing with her aunt and uncle. He stared into her eyes and saw something there. He didn't know what but when things started going wrong he had a plan. When things ended in horror for everyone that day, Star found herself clutching to Remy in hopes of some salvation. But would Remy give her that or would he allow his brother to follow through with his threat?
Too Wild To Ride
Remy and Star had run from Muse's the night Rio was killed. Remy couldn't allow anyone to touch Star. He couldn't quite understand what she was doing to but she ended up saving him from a kill team that was sent after them. They went to rivals state where they could come up with a plan to hide from the kill team. Or so they thought. The plan the Remy had to try and end things didn't go as planned. It almost ended up completely in horror. Star did what she had to and was getting to be stronger and accepting of Remy and his dark side. It didn't frighten her so much now. While waiting thing out Remy had come up with another plan. But would an old friend help him or would this one end up worse then the first? Would Remy and Star grow closer together or would everything fall apart?
Too Fast For Hope
Remy's last plan didn't go to well. He was pretty messed up. Now Star had to find a way to get money to save him yet again. He told her an address But what would Star find there. Would it be enough to help Remy? During his recovery Remy was seeing changes in Star. He was seeing how stronger she was becoming. He had to find a way though to put a final end to this war. It would take time but he had to find a way. Then one day it came to him how he would do it. The plan was tricky and very dangerous. Would this be the end of him? Would this plan end his life or Star's? He hoped not. He had to take risks and trust in Star. When things went down He was not sure of how it would end. This was the end to all end. What would be the result? Would he live and have Star by his side? Would the only family Remy ever known still accept him after the betrayal?
This series is about doing what ones has to in order to survive. To draw on strengths that may not always be known. I am happy I was able to review this entire series.
Till next time - Sweets Books (All 3 written by Lisa - SBAH)
I loved this series! My favorite type of books, as of late, are MC books! Probably, or most definitely, thanks to SOA... This book was different than the other MC books I've read! Totally in a good way! It's very gritty, and the main characters, they grow so much... a life of violence, being forced to live by any means necessary and living while looking over your shoulder, may do that to anyone ;)
The story starts off so simple with Star living a semi-normal life (so it seems anyway) living with her aunt and uncle while attending college. She works at their family gas station. Her aunt and uncle are lazy and appear to be almost, if not totally, worthless... then Remy shows up with the Steel Veins and Star's life is flipped upside down.
She gets to live, because Remy "saves" her. Maybe she really saves him in the end, but I'll let you decide. This journey they take is crazy and in the best way!
Spoilers... I hate them. SO... I'll warn you, these quotes that I thought were, well amazing, hot, insightful, whatever, they're AWESOME... may give you more insight than you want if you don't enjoy spoilers
Star whispers, "tear me apart." ~ HOT
Star thinks "Sometimes love was being naked in a dirty strip club with a man you've just met."
Those are just the first two that I highlighted. I HIGHLY recommend these books if you don't mind a story that isn't all about flowers and rainbows! This book is more real than many I have read. What a fantastic read!
4.5 Stars I read the first installment of this book some time back and rated it a 3 because it was a cliff-hanger. This box set with all 3 installments is available on Kindle Unlimited so I picked it and I'm so glad I did. I loved the way the author wrote this story. Star is an incredibly strong heroine and Remy is the type of hero that makes you want him for your very own. Remy is a hard man who has lived a hard life but he still has that deep seated desire to do the right thing. He has morals even though he has killed and performed some really dastardly deeds. This author took me on a wild ride with Remy and Star, giving me lots of action and grit. But the best thing she delivered was a love so strong that Remy and Star could face anything the world threw at them. No cheating and a HEA.

Star is in the wrong place at the wrong time. A witness to a murder she finds herself in a situation with no way out. That is until the killer finds something in her worth saving. Remy sees something in her and risks everything he knows to save her. Now on the run for their lives, they stand a chance of being together if they can survive. Yeah I know, that was kind of vague but if you read the blurbs for each book really do cover what is going on.
I never watched SOA and I’ve only ever read one other, what I call, hard-core MC book so really I have no idea what kind of formula goes into one of these books. But, if there was a formula I would say Steel Veins has it. Brutal, harsh and passion filled I found myself both cringing and cheering with all the shenanigans that take place in this book. Now for a few words on what I thought about Steel Veins:
WOW! YIKES! THAT’S HOT! I’m never going to get that image out of my head. YES!
I really didn't know what to make of Star in the beginning. She didn't come off dumb to me but she seemed to absorb everything around her fairly quickly without falling apart. I know I would have been one of those screamers that would have gotten a bullet just to shut me up. She does go through some pretty horrific things that change her. But as the story progresses you realize she's more than just a survivor, she's a fighter and a smart one at that. Remy is more than he seems. There's a lot in his past that have made him become who he is. As each layer of his life is exposed, I found he myself drawn further in love with his character. Thankfully, the story is told completely in first person but from dueling points between Star and Remy so it was easy to see what was going on through their minds. The battles that they faced to stay alive and their smoking hot, sometimes volatile sex that ultimately bring them together kept me reeling.
Now for a disclaimer about things that may disturb a reader. Hope you like it violent because it certainly has quite a lot of it. Lots of fighting going on in this book but there's also revenge that is cringe worthy (Todd) and others I gagged through (Eyeballs). There's also a near rape scene. Thankfully it was just a near but still even coming that close to rape is disturbing. That factor alone has me bumping my Flame rating up. This book is not for the easily shocked or squeamish so if either of those things bother you, put this book down and find something fluffy to read.
I’m very thankful I got to review the entire boxed set in one shot. I don’t know if I could have handled all the cliffhangers author Adair Rymer supplied at the end of books 1 and 2 because they were fairly intense. Anyone who is into MC books or wants to try it out for the first time will find Steel Veins a great read. Definitely worth recommending.
I received this book from Stephanie's Book Reports in exchange for my honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.
Too Rough For Love This short novella is packed with hot and steamy scenes and action. From the very start there is action and suspense. When first meeting Star, she is trying to do her best to go to college and have a normal life. As soon as the bikers come into her aunts and uncles gas station, things go from okay to bad in an instance. She meets Remy and it’s an instant connection between the two. Although it’s unusual circumstances, Remy takes Star under his wing and cares for her in his own way. I liked getting to know Remy. He is the all time bad boy and he screams powerful and dangerous. The book has a lot of twists and turns and I was surprised how it ended. I am excitedly waiting to read the second book!
Too Wild to Ride Wow! This book is filled with tons of hot packed action! I was on the edge of my seat the entire ride hoping and praying for once that something would go right for Remy and Star. Unfortunately the both still have a lot to go through before they get a break. I have faith that they will soon find it! Even though they both have darkness inside of them, they both have a strong connection to each other. They found love with each other and at the same time they are each other’s salvations. And at the same time they try their best to redeem themselves from the horrible things they have done. Star has become such a strong woman and I admire her for not running away from everything. She sticks it out and helps Remy as much as she can. I am excited to see how book 3 goes and I hope and pray that things work out for this book couple.
Too Fast For Hope What a wild and crazy ride! Book 3 is just like the other two in regards to the action, suspense, and some hot and steamy scenes with Remy and Star. I felt sorry for the two at the beginning of the story. They both try so hard to go back into the normal world and they just couldn’t do it. I knew a part of them would be changed forever with the things they had to do. I was glad they stayed together and helped each other more than anything. Remy is on a mission and I thought he wanted to change things in his club for himself and for the brother he lost in book 3. A lot of things happen in book 3 but I was happy it all ended the way it did. I loved reading fast paced books and this one took it out of the ball park for me. I recommend reading this series if you like MC romance and with a bit of action as well.
I received this copy for a honest review. Amazing Hot Story couldn't be more surprise these stories get hotter and awesome by a minute. Star just a college student who want more for her life but soon she didn't know it was just a boring life and not much exciting. Remy didn't know that he was given a second chance but would do everything to make it right and get star the happiness they both deserve. All make through but their love stay strong till the end.
~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★✰✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~~
Steel Veins is not your typical MC romance. This book (or series of books) is very gritty and dark. The Steel Veins are 1%ers and their MC is getting darker and darker as the years roll on. Remy is the member who kidnaps Star and takes for the ride of her life. There are things that Star sees and does that move her out of her ho-hum life over to the adrenaline filled lifestyle of the 1%ers. The characters are well developed but not very likeable for the most part. But that's the way they like it.
The story is complex but is still easy to read and follow. The thought process behind what Remy has to do to survive is actually well thought out and thorough and is probably the biggest reason for me to continue to read this series. Each of the first two installments of this series ends with a cliffhanger so I'm glad I got all three at the same time (I really hate cliffhangers!). The end of the third installment does end in an HEA. But don't be expecting some fairy tale here 'cuz you ain't gonna get it. I thought the books were a little on the longish side and a bit dry even though there's a lot of things happening. Hard to explain. It just didn't grab me as much as I was hoping but I tend to like the fairy tale side of things in my books. So keep that in mind while reading this review.
Steel Veins is a cobllection of 3 books that contains all 3 books in the series, Too Rough For Love, Too Wild to Ride, and Too Fast for Hope. I was able to read this series for Kylie’s Fiction Addiction. The Steel Veins are a motorcycle club that Remy Daniels has been a part of for as long as he can remember. The club just isn’t the same as members are brought in quicker and easier than they use to be. The club isn’t protecting the community like they did in the past but bringing threats and crime into the community. It's a club he no longer recognizes. Star is going to college, staying with her aunt and uncle, and helping them out at their gas station. The Steel Veins come to collect a debt from her uncle and things go bad. Star is kidnapped, basically kept alive by Remy because he sees something in her that actually gives him hope but doesn’t want to let the others in the club know. Can Star trust Remy as she too felt an instant connection to him. Does she want to be involved in this world of the motorcycle club? This is not a light read by any means. It is one of brutality, explicit sex and not for the faint at heart. From the beginning to the end you will be on the edge of your seat with Remy and Star as they try to figure out a way to survive in the world of the Steel Veins. Remy wants to protect Star and she is his home and keeps him grounded. Star struggles from being the shy innocent girl she was to living in the world of violence with Remy. At parts I did feel that the book was a little rushed or choppy in transitions from one scene to the other and this is why I’m not able to give it a 5 star rating. I am glad to have had the opportunity to have read this book and will be looking for other works by this author.
This series is one of grittier MC series that i have read. It starts off with Star being kidnapped by the Steel Veins because she sees someone killed. The prez has the intentions of raping her but Remy does everything he can to prevent this which he does. Star seems to fall for Remy too fast in my opinion. I don't know how you can begin to fall in love with someone in a day when your life is at risk. Things get bad and Remy and Star run for their lives because the club wants him dead after he kills one of the brothers. There is definitely a lot of action and angst in the books. Remy is almost killed and Star does everything she can to save him. She kills for him. There isn't a lot of sex in the books but what's there is rough. There is no making love in these books. Remy and Star have a deep love for each other. Maybe because everything they go through to be together. There is a HEA. This was an enjoyable read and Adair Rymer is a very good writer. I thought the story flowed well.
I was gifted this box set to review for Kylie's Fiction Addiction. Very rarely do you find a series like this that doesn't have a fairytale vibe. I love the action and even the violence. The descriptive fast paced writing keeps your attention so much that sleep and personal needs are secondary to the story. Star is a college student living with her aunt and uncle while going to school. She finds herself hating her mundane life finding that it has no meaning for her. Remy is a part of a MC called the Steel Veins. He's detached himself from everything just going through the motions and never really connecting. That is, until he stumbles upon Star. This book series was hard to put down. It's a violent tale of how much you would fight for what and who you love. If you love action packed no holds barred adventure with rough descriptive violence and hotter than hot sex this is the book series for you.
Very good story, though sometimes unbelievable like all outlaw stories. A great story line and the fact Star fits into Remy's world but he can't find into his is an interesting read. I am a sucker for happily ever after with marriage and babies, but I understand that this isn't the type of book for that. Otherwise, a fantastic adventure of love and guns.
I am so glad I found Adair Rymer after the box set came out.
Great series, loved the way Adair allowed Remy to struggle with holding down a civilian job. I always think leaving a MC would be like leaving the military, dealing with the loss of structure is hard.
