I was gifted this book by the author. This is the 2nd book I've read by the author Snook. This book had a valuable storyline, interesting characters & a sentimental message. This was a good standalone read.
In Snook’s latest literary effort, The Down Turn readers are introduced to characters Vivian and Timothy a couple has been faced with economic hardship and just as if things cannot get any worse their lives are changed forever. When Vivian becomes a single parent, she does what she needs to do to make ends meet. You will follow her as she tries to make a better life for herself and children but as well as find a life partner to ultimately have the happily ever after.
Readers will definitely be able to identify with the character and will be happy and sad for her throughout the pages. I truly enjoyed the way the author was able to convey feelings. The Down Turn definitely is filled with an assortment of emotions including those of strength, determination and courage. I found this novel to be emotionally accurate with great plot execution.
If you are a fan of drama with a realistic story line then I would definitely recommend the Down Turn by Snook to you. I give this book 4 stars and look forward to seeing what else is in story for this talented writer.
