Spade Spencer's life seems to be coming together. He's engaged to be married to the love of his life, Bria Murray, and he's an up and coming rapper who recently signed a major record deal. When Spade gets diagnosed with cancer, rather than lean on his fiancée for strength, he calls off the wedding, leaving Bria feeling alone and rejected.
In an effort to move on with her life, Bria pours her energy into running her new company, The Spa Factory. Kerryngton Kruse, CEO of the record label that signed Spade, begins to pursue Bria romantically. Bria finally allows herself to develop feelings for Kerryngton, only to discover that Spade has different plans. Caught in the middle of a love triangle, Bria must make the difficult decision between love and money. Does she follow her heart and marry the one she can't live without, or does she marry for security, in hopes that love will eventually follow?

For the Sake of Love, Spade Spencer calls off his engagement to Bria Murray a month before their wedding without telling her why. The night after their breakup she meets Kerryngton Kruse, music mogul, and unbeknownst to Bria, the head of Spade's label. Kerryngton pursues Bria relentlessly showering her with lavish gifts. Later Bria learns why Spade called the engagement off and that he still loves her. Torn between the two Bria searches her heart to find out who she wants to be with.
I enjoyed this novel it was a fast read and easy to get into.
I think I had a slight problem with the female lead, Bria, in that she went from the love of her life into another relationship in a month's time. Also, she didn't pay attention to the red flags or seem to listen to the people whose opinions mattered most to her.
I think I would have liked to read more about Spade and Kerryngton as individual characters.
I was disappointed with the ending. It seemed to leave part of the storyline underdeveloped.
Spade and Bria had a love story for the ages! Beyond the love story came beautiful life lessons. It showed the importance of learning to weather the storms in life as an individual and as a couple. With Spades news, it truly tested both of their wills and showed how resilient they could be and taught them both life long lessons. Then entered Kerryngton! Talk about lavish and sweeping. Bria's character really came alive while with Kerryngton and Kerryngton's bold personality and zest for life was one that sucked me into the story. I also loved the friendship between Nya, Bria, Chance and Spade as well as the relationship between Bria and her parents. These relationships were represented the true essences of healthy and loving relationships and what we all should strive for. I was glad to see Bria's character grow and open up as the story continued because she definitely needed it and I would've wished the ending was more incorporated in the story because it made for an awesome twist. Despite the twists and turns, the story truly proved that real love conquers all.
What the rushed ending. What is next.....I need an epilogue or something to tie things together.I enjoyed the morals of the main character but she did have me questioning things when life became a little challenging but it only made her more human.
Spade's reaction to the prognosis was a bit over the top. He owed Bria an explanation for his decision to break their engagement. I thought he was wrong in his expectation for her to just sit around waiting for him to regain his senses and that he was actually upset that she'd moved on! Ludicrous. Nya was kinda wishy washy about her stand on who Bria should be with. She was all team Spade but then hopped on the plan in an instant to go enjoy Kerryngton's London outing. I wasn't convinced Kerryngtons motives were ill towards Bria. Just because he's rich and goes after whay he wants does not mean he didn't love her. Nonetheless, I think he let her go too easily and haphazardly which shows he wasn't in it for the long haul. overall it was an ok book
I have always loved christian fiction that deals with real life issues, and this book does. You meet Spade and Bria, who are engaged to be married. A medical diagnosis changes all of that and takes this young couple through a lot of challenges. It was a very well written story and I enjoyed it.
The things people do for love. As you read you fine out kerryngton would do anything for the sake of love, just as Spade. A very surprised ending, but nonetheless a great read. I never saw that coming. I figured he would flip out and kill Bria or Spade, but wow!!! Great!!! Loved it!!'
