A Taste of Bliss

Rate this book
All Bliss Kaufman wanted was a sandwich and a nap after a grueling day beautifying this week’s bridal party. So when a bartender with a panty-melting grin offers her dinner and a ride on his motorcycle, Bliss swerves from her plans for one unexpected night with Talan McGregor. Just one. It was never supposed to go further. But once isn’t enough for Talan who returns demanding more--and his timing couldn’t be worse.

A life-changing diagnosis forces Bliss to abandon her carefully crafted plans. Even though she can make anyone beautiful with enough makeup and hair product, she can’t fix everything with her 50-pound bag of beauty tricks. Bliss is starting to think she might need Talan after all, but letting him in means cracking open her heart and embracing a life without a safety net.

After all, love is life’s greatest complication, and might just be worth the risk.

Blissfully Beautiful!!! In Adrian R. Hale's debut book, A Taste of Bliss, I was treated to a beautiful, emotional, heartbreaking and touching read. If you are familiar with the books I read and review, I love a book that brings out all the FEELS and this book had everything I craved and wanted. I love discovering new authors and Adrian R. Hale is definitely on my list of authors to watch out for because after reading her beautiful debut, I want to read more of her books.

#ATasteofBliss

A Taste of Bliss is one of those books that takes you on an emotional journey of a woman's journey of finding strength, love, happiness, and hope. When Bliss decides to venture out on her own and start her own make-up and hair services, she should be on cloud nine since this is something she always wanted to do. But her world would be shaken to the core when she learns that her mother is diagnosed with stage four cancer that is incurable and that her mom is given months to live. Heartbroken and devastated that her mother has a date with death, Bliss didn't know what to do but luckily for her she has an amazing support system of friends and a mother, who I can only describe as a resilient woman. Bliss's mother was an absolute gem. She accepted her illness and wanted to LIVE the rest of her remaining days with her daughter and trying to cross off her bucket list.

While Bliss was dealing with her mom's illness, Bliss met Talon, who showed her true happiness. Talon, was like the knight in shining armor who was able to sweep Bliss off her feet. He showed Bliss how to truly live and be free. Forget the expected because he showed her that sometimes the best things in life are unexpected. For Bliss, she never expected to fall in love so fast and have a man who sees how beautiful she is inside and out. Talon was what Bliss needed since he was able to be her support system. With the help of Talon, Bliss was able to help fulfill her mother's bucket list.

The simplicity of their romance drew me in. I loved Talon and Bliss instant romance because it worked for this story line. As much as I loved the chemistry of Bliss and Talon, I loved the secondary characters Willa, Bliss's friend and her mother, Lisa. Willa and Lisa completed this book and played vital roles into the book. Willa was the kind of friend that Bliss needed. She constantly reminded Bliss to live and take a chance and I absolutely loved that. But the character that I was drawn to the most was Lisa. I adore Lisa so much. My heart truly went out for her because she is really a hero. She showed us what real strength it is to accept death and embrace the life she was given. Though she may have been dealt with a shitty hand, Lisa didn't let cancer stop her from living. And I love that Lisa was able to spend time with her daughter and have those memories.

#AtasteofBliss1

A Taste of Bliss was one of those books that hit close to home for me. Three years ago, I was in the same situation as Bliss. And so the emotions and sadness that Bliss was dealing with was something I could relate to. Finding out a parent has cancer and is given a time frame is one of the most devastating thing I ever experienced. And Ms. Hale did an amazing job in portraying the raw and real emotions that Bliss and Lisa were dealing with. The vulnerability of her characters is what makes this book so beautiful. Ms. Hale did a fabulous job in writing a book that was so raw and captivating. A Taste of Bliss will pull all the heartstrings and have you emotionally invested with the book. This book is a must read. And I must congratulate Adrian on a fabulous debut book.

I absolutely love finding new authors who takes you on you an amazing journey that will be with you forever. A Taste of Bliss was that an so much more!

My heart went out to Bliss as she receives news that no one wants. But meeting the sexy motorcycle riding bartender Talan, gives her some distraction. I loved Talan in every way possible but always felt he was hiding something...and he was. Oh Bliss, I just wanted to give her a big hug! But when they were together, lets just say I'm surprised my kindle didn't melt! Ms. Hale can write a steamy sex scene! Whoa!

This book was so much more than a romance. There was loss, heartache, reunited love and living life like it was your last day. And one of my top reads not just of 2015, but ever! I wish I could go back and reads it all over again for the first time!

Congratulations on this fantastic debut! I cannot wait for what's next! (hopefully maybe more from Bliss and Talan??)

My Review

Oooooooooooookay ... brace yourselves for a whole lotta lovin'!  I really truly loved this story.  It has all the feels and for god's sake I UGLY CRIED...

O M G

yes it is totally Emma worthy

You know I hate spoilers soooooooo I don't have a TON to say, but I will say I loved it, you will love it.  Hale's writing is so good.  I literally had a film going in my head the entire time I read this.  The flow is awesome and the reading totally flew by for me.  I read this in a day and a half ... not even a weekend, just a Sunday and a regular back to work Monday for me.  Hale's characters have everything, and they seem like people you could physically meet.  I want to be Bliss's friend in real life.

Speaking of friends - HOLY SHIT YOU WILL LOVE WILLA!  I absolutely and totally loved her - she is funny and thoughtful and caring and just wow, loved her.

We all love an amazing male lead and Hale's Talan DOES NOT disappoint!  He is amazing.  He is flawed and real and everything we love in a male lead.  He surprised me throughout the story and I think you will fall in love with him.  He is so well written, just like the other characters.

I can't wait to read more from Hale.  I am completely stalking her online now waiting for the next release.

LOVED IT

You need to buy it right now!

I met Adrian at a book signing in Austin. It was fate that we crossed paths. After talking with her about her book I knew I'd love it. She didn't fail me. I absolutely loved it!
This is a love story about Bliss and Talan with real life thrown in.
It was really personal to me because I have been through some of what Bliss goes through in the book. I cried, I laughed, and I swooned. Talan is amazing. I want him! Do we have a copy machine that will spit out perfect men yet? Someone should invent that cause Talan will be the first, and probably last, one I print.

This is Adrian's debut novel and I look forward to everything she publishes after this!
Thank you Adrian for sharing this story with us!

After meeting the amazing Author of this book I figured her book would be great! She is so sweet and funny! But she completely blew me away with this amazing story! Bliss not only made me love her she made me respect those in the hair and makeup industry! Talan whom of course is a delicious piece of man - candy is completely amazing! loved every second of this book including the parts that threatened to rip my heart out! Adrian R. Hale writes a heartwarming tale of love that is unconditional! She has captured my heart with Bliss and Talan and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us later! Job well done Adrian! This is Adrian's debut novel and she did a fan-fucking-tastic job! I love that I can add her to my list of new authors to watch out for.

Bliss is in Sonoma doing make-up and hair for a wedding party at a winery. After a long-day she just wants some dinner and head home to San Francisco but after meeting the hot bartender at the tasting room/cafe her night takes a major turn. Talan, the hot and flirty bartender is mysterious and Bliss is intrigued but she is also confused.

Bliss has so much going on with her career, finances and her love life that she just doesn't have time to start a new relationship. And when something even more life-changing comes into play, she knows she definitely doesn't have time. But, the thing is, she can not stop thinking about Talan and apparently he hasn't stopped thinking about her either...

Talan is mysterious and sexy and wants Bliss. He will not just let her go even when she fights him on it. He wants to be there for her, support her and be with her. He may have some surprises up his sleeve and Bliss hates surprises but he helps her forget her problems even if it's temporary. Bliss just doesn't get why he would want to be with her at this point, her life is a mess. She feels selfish and doesn't want him to feel used but he doesn't see it that way and one of the reason why she thinks he is perfect.

Bliss has so much going on for her age. She is only 21 but very mature and independent. Can Bliss balance everything in her life so she can start a relationship with Talan? Will Talan give up the fight?

I loved the characters. Talan is sexy, mysterious, sweet and a giver. Bliss is strong, sweet and has a heart of gold. Together, they are so fun and they just click. Bliss's mom is kick-ass and her friends are supportive and pretty awesome.

It was also pretty cool that it started out in Sonoma and moved away the Bay Area. I live in Sonoma County and also lived in Campbell so it was fun to read about things happening in the bay.

Overall, it had everything I look for in a novel. The writing was beautiful. It had humor, heat, angst, surprises, and it was emotional. It was heartbreaking and heartwarming and I cried more than once. I can't wait for the next book!!

Quotes:

“If that’s what she likes. I actually prefer a woman to do what makes her feel best; on her back, on top, turned around. It all feels good, and better when she’s enjoying herself.” A wolfish smile lights up his face as he plays right along with the flirtation I’ve reintroduced.

How could he think this looked sweet? I look like Medusa and Courtney Love had a baby.

Morning is an ugly bitch even my considerable skills and extensive kit can do nothing to fix.

"I want all of you, Bliss. Body. Heart. Soul. I don't want to be the guy you f**k when you need an escape from reality. I want to be the guy you come to because this feels like home."

Bliss met Talan in the most unfortunate circumstance of her life. It was like, it wasn’t the right time to fall in love with so much on her plate – and yet everything just went according to what fate decided. It wasn’t easy for the both of them, but they made it worked. Talan was very understanding and supportive, he has a lot on his sleeves, well, including secrets, and he always has some surprise. Irony is, Bliss doesn’t like secrets.

You can’t help but love the both of them. Bliss being courageous and risking everything for her dreams. And let’s not forget, she’s a great daughter as well. Nevertheless, she still makes time with Talan, he never demands anyway.

More than just a romantic tale with all those steamy scenes, this book caught my heart because of the relationship Bliss had with her mother, and the effort she was making for her. It was somehow hard for her to do it, but because her mother wanted it, she tries her best in making her mom’s wishes come true.

It’s a story about love, about beginnings and endings, about doing things before it’s too late. It’s a story about letting go, even if it’s painful. It’s about saying goodbye.

Love, sometimes surprises. We may not expect it, it may not come in the best of times in our lives, but when it’s true – it’s going to stay, and the risk would always be worth it.

Talan may be getting a taste of Bliss but shit if I don’t want a taste of Talan.

Adrian Hale’s debut novel A Taste of Bliss is endearing, emotional and pretty sexy. I really loved Talan. I mean, what’s not to love?! Talan is the sweetest mancandy you could dream up. He’s honest, loyal, giving and willing to do anything for Bliss. I’m lacking anything bad to say about him. He feels a connection with Bliss immediately and wants to pursue it. He wants her at any cost – going through an emotional crisis? He’s there. Want someone to watch a movie with? He’s asking what you want to see. Need a breather from life? He takes you on a picnic. TALAN GETS A BAZILLION STARS.

Bliss is young. And at times, immature. Those are the times I wanted to smack her upside the head – I wanted her to grow up significantly. Quickly. LE SIGH. I was super proud of her for making the changes in her life that she needed, but she needed to roll with the punches just a little bit more. I’m cutting her a little bit of slack because of what’s going on with her mom. See, look! I have feelings.

So. I think we need to talk about the ending. THAT ENDING. GOD. Perhaps it ended on too real of a note for me and I should hike up my big girl panties and recognize and respect that. And I do. I didn’t dislike those scenes I just disliked that THAT was the end. I would have LOVED an epilogue. Or a couple of extra chapters – for me, I just needed a little bit more. Not in a “I really want more from the characters” way (although I did) but more in a “I need more so that the ending feels fully resolved” kind of way.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book and give it 3.50 stars – it’s a good read – it’ll make you smile and laugh (and perhaps even cry!). Emotion – CHECK. For Adrian’s first published novel I think it’s a great debut and I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next!

I quite liked this story. I was very moved by Lisa, Bliss' mother's storyline. Tragic and yet inspiring.

Talan was a sweetheart. Almost too perfect, but honestly, that's the way I like my heroes. It's nice to think there's a guy out there who can handle all our BS. I liked the layers to his personality and his life, and the way he was all in when it came to Bliss. My only problem is the amount of time he was absent from the story. I got a bit twitchy wondering when he was going to be back in the picture.

Bliss... Well, I liked her well enough. I thought she was pretty relatable, flawed, and real. She'd go flying off the handle, and then come to her senses. And Lord knows I'm a lot like her when it comes to overthinking things, and creating issues when there isn't really one there. Unlike her, I like to think I would let someone say their piece, defend themselves, in the event of a major misunderstanding, but who knows.

That particular misunderstanding was pretty predictable, although I did wonder what the real story was going to be. (Sorry if I'm vague, but I don't like to leave spoilers.)

My main problem with this story isn't really the story, it's the fact that it is not only first person, which--as those of you who follow my reviews know--is not my favorite, but it is also in present tense, which I find super distracting. I've only ever read one book in present tense that I didn't find so distracting--I hardly even noticed it, it was so well done. This one, for me, was not. As a reader, I was taken out of the bubble every time to dialog fell into past tense--which was often--and during the times when Bliss is flashing back to something that happened "off scene". So it felt bouncy and just not smooth.

Take that for what it's worth. For me, it's worth the loss of a whole star. But other readers who don't have problems with first person present tense may not mind it at all. Otherwise, the plot was well constructed, the characters all likeable and relate-able, and the writing--other than my issues framed above--was very well done.

A Taste of Bliss is Adrian R. Hale’s debut novel and I feel she has introduced herself into the author realm with a very solid release. This is a sugary-spice romance with a little edge. A Taste of Bliss is a fun and uplifting story to enjoy that left me with warm fuzzies. I appreciate the takeaway feelings and hidden messages that I can apply to my life. I want to give my mom a huge hug and visit some wineries!

Bliss is a great girl and I feel she is easy to relate to. Her spunky attitude and caring personality made it effortless to like her. Bliss is driven and independent but she needs to allow someone past her barriers. It has been far too long since she let herself fully relax and give control over to someone else for a change. Meeting an extremely handsome and flirty bartender at the end of a long day is exactly what Bliss needs.

Talan is a modern day Prince Charming and he plays this role very well. He is a guy any girl would be lucky to call her own and I was a little jealous of how amazing is to Bliss. Talan is very sweet, devoted, and honest… swoon-worthy! He is definitely what Bliss has been waiting for without realizing it because they compliment each other so well.

The storyline is whimsical and light but there are several intensely emotional aspects as well, such as the terminal battle Bliss’s mom is fighting against cancer. I felt myself tearing up plenty when Bliss and her mother shared a personal moment. The connection between Bliss and Talan was yummy; exactly what a lovely romance is all about. There is a steam factor without going overboard so anyone can enjoy this novel. Adrian R. Hale did very well with setting scenes and providing details but I could have used more back story as well as character development. I look forward to what this author creates next and experience her writing as it evolves.

Oh my gosh, I absolutely LOVED this book!

Adrian Hale's debut novel did not disappoint!

This isn't just a love story about Bliss and Talan. It is SO MUCH MORE! It was a journey. A journey that teaches Bliss that it's ok to take risks. That life is all about balance, you need to work hard play hard, and most importantly, love hard.

Bliss meets Talan at a winery after she's done hair and makeup for a wedding party there. He's a flirty bartender that she decides is worth one night of fun. Too bad Talan didn't get that memo. One night of Bliss and he was hooked. Too bad he met her at the absolute worst time.

Bliss's world gets rocked shortly after her foray with Talan and she has no time for romance or anything that could cause her to lose her focus.

Talan is nothing if not patient. He was continually what she needed. Pushing her out of her comfort zone and showing her that she has room in her heart for him after all.

This book went above and beyond my expectations. I was expecting a quick, fun love story. What I got was deeper. I got the feels. I got butterflies that you get when you fall in love. I got the sinking, heartbreaking feeling when something bad happens. I got that sick feeling you get when things go amiss. I got my heart completely broken. Then, I got the sheer bliss (see what I did there?) of happiness you feel when you find "that person" who will see you through the good and the bad.

Great job, Adrian!! I'm looking forward to Griffin's book and all your other future works!

A Taste of Bliss is Hale's debut novel and I do believe she entered the writing realm quite well.

Bliss is an independent, career minded woman who has built up walls and just doesn't see herself as having time for a relationship. She has her mind set on goals but just needs that someone to come along and believe in her.

Talan, all mysterious sexy, flirtatious bartender knows right away what he wants, and that is Bliss. This man will make you swoon, I think he had me in the first chapter.

This story has a pretty light feel to it, there are some emotional parts when Bliss finds out some news about her mother. It definitely makes you feel and maybe hug your own mother a little tighter. But with all this going on she just doesn't feel like she should drag Talan into the mess of her life. Talan on the other hand, feels very differently and tries to secure his place there. Who will win that battle and just where will it lead.

Hero: Talan 5 yummy Stars
Heroine: Bliss 4.5 Stars (points taken for being so stubborn)
Plot: 5 Stars
Heat level-4

The story was well written, definitely light and funny in some places but more raw and emotional in others. The heat factor is there too, I mean some pretty hot moments but it doesn't take away from the story at at all.

For a debut book, this was well written with a variety of feelings. There were some beautiful one liners like "My girl is beautiful in her sadness" and also "maybe I like your brand of terrible better than anyone else's perfection." For me the four stars come from the insta-crave feelings Talan and Bliss had for one another and some character backstories needing further development. For instance, Talan's brother references how cool Bliss is and for him not to mess this relationship up yet we don't learn an tradgic past example that Talan did indeed mess a good relationship up. I also feel a story or two of mom and Bliss was necessary prior to the bomb dropping in their relationship. (I don't want to spoil so please excuse the ambiguity.) Regardless this was a solid read that I can imagine will get a lot of reads and ratings in the upper 3 to low 4 star ratings here on goodreads.

A Taste of Bliss
* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A story of love, in more ways than one.
A Taste of Bliss was a sweet and heartfelt but a sexy and fun read.
Adrian Hale wrote a great debut novel. Her writing style was so easy to follow and addicting. I love Adrian's sense of humor and the characters in the book.
Once I started reading Bliss I didn't want to stop. I really enjoyed Talan (oh be still my heart), his brother (yay! He gets his own book!), Bliss and her best friends. This book will make you smile, sad, chuckle and want to love and live now.
If you're looking for a book that isn't too deep but still tugs at your heart, this is it. I recommend it and give it 4 strong stars!
Thanks Adrian for introducing me to Talan and Bliss!

Wow! What a beautiful story. It was just an amazing love story. It was so full of emotion that it was hard to put down. There were so many times I had tears in my eyes that I just made sure I had tissues nearby.

My heart goes out to Bliss. Being someone that recently lost my father due to illness, I could easily connect with her. Miss Hale described the emotions involved perfectly. I can't imagine trying to deal with that loss while allowing yourself to be vulnerable at the same time. Bliss wants to make as many memories for her mom as she can, showing her selflessness.

What's not to love about Talan though? He is such a wonderful, caring man. He wants to be with Bliss and is willing to support her during this difficult time in her life.

This book was so much more than I expected. You will not be disappointed if you one-click it today.

I'm always leary about reading an author's debut novel. I read a lot and I have expectations on how a story should flow. If it doesn't quite flow how I think it should, it just becomes a meh book for me. I was completely blown out of the water with this book. Sure the romance is super hot. But the story, punched me in the gut and made me relive some of my past that maybe I didn't know I needed to relive (no spoilers here...you're going to have to read to find out!). I loved all of the characters. I would've preferred a better flow into Talan's portion at the end. It felt a bit too choppy for me, but I think that's my only critique.
If you want a new romance author to read? Adrian Hale is your girl. Her first book truly showed off her writing chops. Definitely grab a copy of this one!

Amazing book from a newbie author!

I pretty much read it in two sittings - it was easy to get into, and captivating enough to keep me reading until it was finished.

I loved the voice of the main character - Bliss - and the way the story is told from her viewpoint. Interwoven into the story of romance between Bliss and bartender Talan, is another type of love story between a mother and a daughter. So, keep the tissues on standby, you're going to need them.

I eagerly await her next book hopefully coming out summer of 2015, as Ms. Hale has a new fan in me.

I was lucky enough to win a copy of this beautiful book.
I fell in love with Talan and pink haired Bliss, oh and let's not forget Finch.
Heartbreak and love comes in many forms, here we experience the joy and sadness between mother & daughter. A new and exciting relationship full of passion and second thoughts, Bliss has quite a lot on her mind but our guy wins the girl in the end. I went through all spectrum of emotions reading this book, happiness, excitement, sadness
and anger. This is a standalone book but I am so ready for Griffins story.

Adrian R Hale's debut, A Taste of Bliss, was a great introduction to a new author. I'm looking forward to the next book...and the next.

In A Taste of Bliss, we get Bliss and Talen's story. I really liked Bliss. I loved seeing her growth, she's independent and branching out of the comfortable. Matching her up with Talen...HOT! Talen is a mystery and his past slowly unveils, perfectly.

Bravo, Ms. Hale! A Taste of Bliss is a wonderful debut! I'm looking forward to your next story, can't wait for Drift Heat.

I received an ARC on this book, and after finishing the first chapter I was annoyed and thought I'd hate it.

By chapter 2 I was more confident, and by chapter 3 I was in love.

Adrian Hale puts a twist on your typical romance by not only throwing in some trauma and devastation, but my making the female lead (Bliss) one strong, independent woman!

I don't want to give too much away, but I would highly recommend buying this book when it launches on April 7th!

Talan is swoon worthy!! Just had to throw that out there before anything else. He makes you weak in the knees, I tell you. Bliss' story breaks your heart into a million pieces as it is one everyone fears. And Talan's fierce determination to be a part of her life makes him all that much more of the man of a girl's dreams.
I would give this one a 4 star rating as I felt fully involved in the story.

Bliss is a hair and make up artist for special occasions and weddings. Bliss had a job at a wedding at a winery. When she was done she went to the bar to order food an the bartender Talan flirts with her while she's ordering food. Talan owns the winery where he met Bliss. He goes above an beyond to swoon an wine an dine Bliss. Talan gives her unexpected excitement she didn't know she needed. This is a great book I enjoyed Talan swooning her an coming up with spontaneous dates.

I don't normally read romance novels, but I could hardly put this book down! This story had me laughing, crying and, of course, blushing. At a certain point I giggled with tears in my eyes. Bliss was a beautiful character that I found very relatable, which lead me to wish that I had her BFF Willa in my life. (Can we get a Willa novel? :D ) Can't wait to see what Adrian has for us next!

I expected A Taste of Bliss to be entirely about Bliss and Talan's romance, but it was a tear-jerking surprise to follow Bliss's journey as she supports her mother through terminal cancer. Bliss's emotions are real--I can relate to so many of them. It's a down to earth book with a great love story!

I love trying out new authors. I love the feeling of discovering new gems in the writing world and Adrian R. Hale is a treasure! Her debut novel, A Taste of Bliss , was a steamy yet sweet story of love and real life dilemmas.

“Maybe I like your brand of terrible better than anyone else’s perfection.”

This wasn’t the best time in Bliss Kaufman’s life. With a series of unfortunate circumstances brought by one of her life’s most important decisions, and finding out her mom’s condition, she was neck-deep in bad news. One good news, though, was the hot bartender she met at a bar...a very interested hot bartender. But does she really have the heart to drag him in her current messy life?

Bliss was a delightful character. She effortlessly snatched my heart with her genuineness and warmth. If she was real, I think every woman would like to be friends with her. I would love to, for sure. She’s always ready with a smile and armed with the right words to say.

He’s so easily able to alleviate my fears and explain away my doubts.

Talan McGregor was a panty-melting, hard-working, smooth-talking wine god. I just freaking love him. Everything about him enchants. His looks, his attitude, his charm, his composure, everything! He was a composed man and sure of what he wanted and knew exactly how to get it. Talan is over-the-top swoon-worthy!

I can’t settle for lukewarm when I’ve had blazing hot.

Adrian R. Hale’s writing prose is tantalizing. She smoothly delivers this rich story made more enchanting by her remarkably entertaining characters. Bliss and Talan’s characters perfectly complemented each other, leaving no room to thirst for more. The plot and the story’s progress didn’t bore. There were a lot of events in-between that filled the book with not just the message of happily-ever-afters but also familial love, friendship, and self-improvement. This sassy, steamy, and sweet read from Adrian R. Hale is a perfect spring read! I can’t wait to read more of her works!

Talan. That's who completely made this story for me. He is everything you would want in a book boyfriend and more. The hotness is a given...then you have his sexy and enticing personality, his loyalty and dedication, and his devotion to Bliss.

Bliss on the other hand-while most of the time she's an independent and strong young woman, you also have times when she acts a bit immature-and in the big conflict of the story, jumps to conclusions without bothering to find out the whole story (something I really hate in any character).

When the two of them are together, it is sweet and hot and just right. What split my attention in this book was the huge focus on Bliss' mom and the reaction she has, along with all that goes along with it. It felt like this part of the storyline dominated much more than the relationship between Bliss and Talan, and while I understand the issues it raises for Bliss and how she deals with it, to me it felt like that part became more important than Bliss and Talan...which for a romance story didn't make sense to me. The other thing that bugged me was everything about the fundraiser, which felt like it came together unbelievably fast in such a short time it kind of seemed unlikely that something of that scale could be done so quickly.

The steamy scenes were perfect, and the epilogue helped tie everything up with a nice dose of emotion. In the end, what made this book for me was Talan...simply Talan.
