Underdogs: A Musical

Rate this book
"Fame" meets "Schmigadoon!" meets "Glee" in this new musical featuring original songs and hilarious parodies of some of your favorite musical theater classics. Starring Alan Cumming, Bebe Neuwirth, Gaten Matarazzo, and a full cast.

Break out your character shoes, grab your sheet music, and hop on the next flight to Newark, New Jersey, because audition day is here at the most prestigious performing arts high school in the Newark Airport High!

This year, four first-year students—Maya, Evelyn, Bryce, and Darren—are determined to make their mark by being cast in the mainstage show Les Disposablés (or Les Dis for short, because who has time for all those syllables when you're racing to dance class?). But standing between them and center stage is a formidable Mr. Jeremy, this year's mainstage director. Suddenly, our rising stars find themselves in an unfamiliar role for the very first time... Underdogs.

Will raw talent and determination be enough to help our foursome rise above the competition (and the airport noise)? Find out in A Musical, a celebration of friendship, ambition, and the power of finding your voice.

Stay tuned after the credits to listen to your favorite songs from A Musical! - “Betrayed” - “Roll The Dice” - “Fridge is Closed Tight” - “Put it All Together” - “Heck Week” - “Big City Airport Town” - “Day of the Show” - “Les Diz Medley” - “Life on Newarkonia” - “This is Our Song"

If you enjoy musicals this is worth a listen. If you don’t like musicals you will hate this. It was a fun listen although predictable and a little cheesy but I appreciate what they tried to do here. I would enjoy this genre of audiobooks if more were created

I enjoyed the full cast. The story was really good, too. This shows how one teacher can make a difference in her students' lives. While another one ( he truly isn't a teacher) is out for himself! I liked how everything was a play on NYC and Broadway. I found that funny.

What a fun listen!! It reminded me of old radio programs. My kids even enjoyed listening. The story was predictable, but still fun.

What a fun delight! It’s a Broadway show in the spirit of old radio dramas. A sweet story with great talent and a ton or energy.

Very kookie - strange, but good. Excellent as far as a musical goes and loved the name changes!
