Vincent and his wife, Annabel, move with their 10-year-old daughter, Shelly, to a new home, a massive building atop a hill that has been empty for some time. They are soon settled, but then Annabel discovers a diary belonging to a young girl, Hayley, who lived there previously. As she reads it, she becomes horrified when she learns of the things that took place here, and it is at this time, Shelly starts acting strange. An invisible friend comes into her life who depserately needs Shelly to find a special book for her. Shelly agrees and then a series of inexplicable events start occuring, all involving Shelly. Her parents soon realise they need more than a doctor.
Terry is tired. Now that Agatha has recovered from her ordeal, Terry is losing faith in his ability to track down and stop Baal once and for all. And then he receives a call from Vincent and agrees to visit one last time. It doesn't take long for Terry to understand what is going on and makes a decision. This is going to end one way or the other. For good or bad.

“Resolution” - All good (and bad) things come to and end. Also if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

★★★★☆

This was the final book in the “The Demons Among Us” series and what an ending! Am I sad? Yes. Do I think this is the perfect ending? Also Yes. This book was another wild ride and Justin knows how to take “facing your demons” to a whole new level. What a journey this has been, now excuse me while I make sure that the only demon in my house is my cat.

Not a bad finale...

Resolution, book 5 in the Demons Among Us series, brings us the a conclusive battle between Terry & Agatha and Ba'al for the soul of a 10 year old girl's soul, along with other souls Ba'al had possessed. The book is a bit of a slow burn initially, like the other Demons Among Us books, but the action picks up rapidly once it kicks off. Expect examples of extreme behavior by the possessed girl. I greatly enjoyed this book, but the Deus ex Machina type ending isn't really my style. Overall, 4/5 stars, highly recommended for fans of demonic horror and supernatural horror!

The final installment of the Demons Among Us series and I am HEARTBROKEN!!

This book follows Shelly and her parents as they move to a new house, which has a dark and brutal history that comes crawling back to haunt the new homeowners. Justin has done it yet again with another unsettling and terrifying tale of possession and exorcism, leaving readers with jaws on the floor.

From the beginning of this series and the beginning of Resolution, Justin pulled readers in with his eerie and immersive writing, leaving us on the edge of our seats, never knowing what horrors were waiting around the corner. Resolution was fast paced and brutal. This installment had a lot more than just demonic possession and gave readers an epic backstory and conclusion!

The ending of Resolution, and the ending of this series, in my opinion is perfect. Was I shocked? Absolutely. Did I Cry? Like a baby! I'm absolutely heartbroken and devastated, yet completely satisfied with how things wrapped up. What a wonderful ending and a wonderful journey it was!

I'll miss the Demon Among Us series, but what a fun journey it was! Justin Boote has such a fantastic and creative mind which is so clearly evident in Resolution! I couldn't put it down, absolutely hooked from the get go! My fellow horror girlies need to check out this series, especially those fans of possession horror, I promise an emotional and enjoyable time is to be had!

Thank you so much to Justin Boot for an advance copy of Resolution. All opinions are mine and have been left voluntarily.

This is it: the final volume in The Demons Among Us series! And what a finale it is: a powerful ending to one man's battle against the demon who destroyed his family - took his little sister when he was a child, and messed up with his wife as an adult. Yet he persevered through it all, and now here we are, a new case of demonic possession, another little girl has fallen victim to the Demon Baal, and it's only a matter of time till the help of a demonologist-slash-exorcist is needed to put things back in order. That exorcist is Terry, a mountain of a man, supported by his wife Agatha, his faith and his God, determined to send Baal back to hell once and for all!

Surprisingly, I found that the book could easily be read as a standalone, despite it being the end of a series. More than half of it tells the core demonic possession story, a complicated tale precisely plotted, involving demon worshippers, a haunted house, a book of spells and summonings, and in fact two little girls and their - oh so different- families! Poor Terry is obviously facing his toughest case yet. And the titular resolution apparently promises to bring things to a head - and wow, does the book deliver!

Anyone who enjoys possession stories should give this a look. It's spot on on everything, it doesn't skimp on the scares, and tops it all with a moving, tongue-in-cheek epilogue!

Vincent Hawshore, his wife Annabel and their 10-year-old daughter Shelly move into their new, renovated home. Vincent got a good deal on the house; it’s been abandoned for over a year. The family isn’t superstitious, so they’re not bothered by the rumors of the old house being haunted.

Annabel finds a diary that belonged to the previous owners, she discovers more about the past than she was ready for. Elvis the cat refuses certain rooms (if the cat says no–you say no. This is basic survival.)

Shelly begins to change as well. She’s quieter, colder, like something is slowly dimming her light.

Time to call our favorite demonologist, Terry, and his wife Agatha to come and have a look.

This is the final book in the Demons series, and I am so impressed by how J. Boote wrapped up this story. This one was so exciting, fast-paced, horrific, and I devoured it. Brilliant ending to the series in my opinion.

J. Boote scares you, emotionally damages you, and somehow turnes it into a good time.

If you like supernatural horror that lingers, read this series.

Books 1–4 are out. Resolution drops March 27.

Resolution is the final installment of the Demon Among Us series written by Justin Boote. What a wild ride it has been! From the terrifying possessions to the thrilling conclusion, Justin has had me in a chokehold. I have had a special spot in my heart for possessions since watching The Exorcist when I was 10, and the Conjuring movies over the last few years.

The book follows a family that moves into their new home, unaware of its horrific past. Annabel, the wife, finds a journal of the young girl who lived in the house before them. It details the eerie progression that led to her death. When Shelly, the 10-year-old daughter, begins to act differently, they reach out to a demonologist - Terry and his wife Agatha. Bahl has come back stronger than ever.

This book had me on the edge of my seat. It also ripped out my heart! Well done, Justin!! Thanks for that emotional damage! lol!

Thanks to Justin Boote for gifting me an eARC of Resolution. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Justin Boote hits it out of the park again with Resolution. This story is a masterclass in atmosphere and building a sense of inescapable dread. He has a unique talent for anchoring high-tension horror in raw, human emotion, making the scares feel incredibly personal and all the more unsettling. The pacing is relentless, and the prose is sharp. Once the story starts to turn, there is no letting go until the final, haunting page. If you enjoy horror that stays with you long after you’ve finished the book, Resolution is a must read. Highly recommend!!

ARC Review

Resolution by Justin Boote is the final instalment in the Demons Among Us series. Boote has a knack for pulling readers into the psyche of his characters, making you feel every bit of their desperation.
What I enjoyed most was the twist at the end I didn't see coming. The writing is sharp and doesn't shy away from the darker corners of possession. The overall impact of this series will stay with me for a long time!

Resolution: The Demons Among Us by Justin Boote wraps up the series in a way I didn’t see coming at all. The ending genuinely surprised me—everything I thought I had figured out got flipped, and it landed in a way that stuck with me. Boote ties up the chaos and darkness of the series while still keeping that uneasy edge I loved from the start. I’m honestly sad it’s over—these books pulled me in hard, and this finale was a wild, emotional send-off.

ANOTHER five star book without a doubt. . . this series is amazing!!
The characters in the book are relatable and in this final book he blends in Terry and Agatha to tie the story up and make everything complete. An edge of your seat read. . . I just can't get enough of what this author writes. The books could be read separately but definitely in order brings them all together perfectly.

Mac and Don are working on a house renovation. But there’s something about the place that’s giving Mac the absolute creeps.
This story sees Terry return again to do battle with Bahl. There pacing was great and I felt compelled to keep on reading. I had to know what happened. I shed a tear at the ending I loved this series and the ending is perfect!

Perfect ending of a series full of dread and the worst of the worst from the demonic world. There arent many books out there that really conjure the grotesque aspects of demonic possesion but this is one of them. Brilliant and terrifying.

Resolution (The Demons Among Us Book #5) by Justin Boote

Cutting right to the chase, Boote dives into the first chapter with pulse-pounding suspense, sharp humor, and masterful buildup that hooks you instantly. If scary movies didn’t teach us anything, it’s that a family moving to a new house because of the husband’s job can never end well: think The Amityville Horror mixed with Beetlejuice vibes, but cranked up to eleven with Boote’s signature chills.
In this gripping conclusion to the series, a family’s fresh start in a seemingly idyllic new home unravels into a nightmare of supernatural terror, buried secrets, and otherworldly chaos that tests their sanity and survival.
I devoured this in one sitting; I couldn’t stop turning pages! Bravo, Justin!!! What a razor-sharp, satisfying ending to an already spooky series. If you love haunted house horrors with heart, wit, and genuine scares, Resolution delivers a perfect payoff. I highly recommend all five books in the series!!
