ایک غیر معمولی دلچسپی کی حامل کتاب جو بچے کی نظر سے دنیا کو بالکل نئے انداز میں دکھا دیتی ہے۔ پاکستان کی تاریخ اور سماجی ارتقا کے ایک خاص دور کو ایک مخصوص مقام(ماڈل ٹاون) سے متشکل کیا گیا ہے۔ ندرتِ نظر کا کمال ہے کہ ناکامی بھی حسین دکھائی دنے لگتی ہے اور بعض اوقات ایک الگ طرح کی کامیابی محسوس ہوتی ہے۔اردو افسانے کے دلدادہ قارئین کے لیے عمدہ تحفہ۔

A few things that the private education system of Pakistan rids you off is the ability to appreciate and understand Urdu literature. I came across this book at a point in my life where this realisation was setting and Model Town was a great start to appreciate the beauty of urdu literature.

Model Town is real and raw. Breaking all barriers of societal norms and conservatism, model town explores adolescense, youth, sexuality and religion in an unhindered manner. Through its satirical nature, the book eases the reader into thinking about unexplored topics in one's head. This alone qualifies Model Town to be shelved along with great urdu literature novels. You find yourself laughing through its paragraphs and feel a sense of sadness as you finish it. I wish there was an English version of this book too, so that this eunavle to read urdu could also appreciate it. I highly recommend this book.
