The deeper the roots, the richer the ruin…

All Quincy Anderson wants is to enjoy a life of quiet, academic solitude hidden away from the world and the people she's never been able to understand. But it isn't long before the dark sins of her past―and her complicated family legacy―find her.

Enter Eden Ivers: charming, magnetic, and the only woman to ever capture Quincy's heart. As students, it was Eden who began unraveling the mysterious deaths and blood-soaked societies linked to their exclusive university, putting them both at the center of a dangerous game with no way to win.

Now years later, the two women are thrust back into one another's lives―and that deadly game neither fully escaped. But ignoring the spark between them isn't as easy as it used to be…and the grisly legacy Eden once so carelessly challenged still lays in wait, ready to claim them both.

Review of advance copy received from NetGalley

Thank you so much to Angela and the entire team at Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for sending me a widget and inviting me to read Vengeful Destruction early. As one of my most anticipated books of 2026, receiving this opportunity was a literal dream come true! All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

There are books you enjoy, books you love, and then there are books that become a part of you. Vengeful Destruction is one of those for me. Mark my words, this is the sapphic romance read of 2026!!

I can't believe this is the end, or is it?

Honestly, wow, I'm actually speechless; this world, these characters, there'll never be enough words to ever explain just how much I love them and how much they mean to me. Anyone who knows me knows how much I ADORE Sav's books; I'm a Sav's Angels after all.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, bury me with this universe, Sav's books, and most importantly, I am a Foxeglove Micah James fan, his biggest fan, actually. That is my sweet, tortured musician babyyyy right there, and I will protect him at all costs!! And, I am once again, just a girl standing in front of Sav and her publishers (figuratively) begging for his own book. More onto him a little later, because I do really have a lot more to say on him, but first, my sweet girls, Eden and Q.

Dare I say this is my favourite sapphic book, of all time? Do you know what I love more than two idiots in love? When there's a one-sided rivalry, and the person learns that their dislike/behaviour is just a cover up for how obsessed the other person is? Because there were times Quincy was so mean to Eden, which I didn't quite get, but Eden loved it, lol!! She was like a little lost puppy when it came to Quincy.

It's safe to say that my theories that I had and who Pythia was, was wrong lol, buttt and this is a big BUT, now knowing what I know, it makes sense; I was literally on the edge of my seat in sheer anticipation at the end. Just know that I always, ALWAYS had my suspicions about a certain person!! I will say that the twists and trying to keep up with all what was going on felt a little convoluted, with the whole Anderson curse, so I think I will have to go over some parts to make sense of it.

I absolutely loved Eden and Quincy, their lives and the side characters' lives are so loosely interconnected, because of their parents and relations. I loved that we got to see Sawyer, who I know is Boyd's pride and joy, and also meeting one of Elia and Caroline's children, Roman, too. Eden so sweet, and has it so bad for Quincy, God I loved it!! She is so much like her dad, Kierna, I can totally imagine him feeling a type of way that his only child feels like he's leaving him LOL that man has always had a flare of dramatics.

And my sweet girl, Quincy, who has felt like an outsider and so different, I just wanted to give her a big hug, even when sometimes I didn't quite understand why she did things the way she did, she does love for those closest to her so fiercely. She is so much like her dad, Kal, with so many of her softer traits from Elena too.

Of course, seeing all the kids again always brings me such immense joy, be it the bickering, or Asher and Foxe breaking out into a fight, and especially seeing how bad Foxe still has it over Aurora. My sweet boy Foxe, I love him with my entire being. God, just know if he is to get his own book, insufferable would be an understatement as to how I will be over it.

As excited as I am to see what Sav writes next, a part of me just isn't ready to let go of this world yet; I don't think I'll ever be. These characters have been with me for so long that it's hard to imagine not coming back to them again. They don't feel like characters anymore, they feel like people I've known for years. They've made me laugh, cry, and they completely have my heart and soul.

Somewhere along the way, this universe stopped being just a series I was reading and became something so much more. What Sav has created with this universe is so special. These books have been a constant in my life over the last few years, and every time I've come back to them, it's felt like coming home.

Saying goodbye feels a little impossible. If this really is the end, then what a beautiful way to close out a universe that has meant so much to me ever since I picked up my first Sav book in 2023. But if there's even the slightest chance there's more to come, just know I'll be seated. And if this truly is goodbye, thank you Sav for giving me a world I'll never stop thinking about 💖

Pre-read September 2025: to my sweet baby girl, Q— while I’m still obsessing over your brother’s book and fearing I’ll never recover from everything that went down, I honestly don’t know how I’m supposed to survive the wait for your sister’s story, which isn’t out for another four months 💔 And yet… I have a very strong (and very likely) guess about who your love interest might be. Ok, thanks for coming to my TED talk; I’ll be back when there’s a sexy cover reveal and blurb to see if I’m correct!

I can’t freaking wait to enter my Sav/sapphic era baby!!
