Part of the Fairhaven Falls series. If you love a plot with a monster town, Fairhaven Falls is the best, a gargoyle and his journey to a HEA this book is for you. Can't wait for the next book.

Oh, Flora has her work cut out for her this time. She has decided Garrick the local gargoyle should not be alone . But she is up for the challenge. She's a force of nature for a reason. I love the saying on her track suits.
I loved Maris. I loved reading about her past , about Toby's grandparents and where they thought she should stand in society. I loved that she was able to quietly let them know her thoughts about their offer and Toby's future and still be able to keep her dignity. I loved that she talked about her plants and gardening like they were her children.Her including Toby in her business was fun.
Garrick has his own challenges. Including that he is not like Toby's grandparents when it comes to helping her. She keeps misinterpeting his intentions. I liked the aspects of his gargoyle life. Going to sleep when he had a problem to solve. And he had a few . But this is what he does, solves problem .
Toby was a sweetheart. Very polite and very observant. I loved that his request was fulfilled.He seemed to know more than he should.
Garrick was so good with him .
Aiden was there to help also, along with the town of Fairhaven Falls. Flora of course taking credit for Garrick and his Little Thorns HEA.
The worldbuilding was excellent. Challenges more than met. Steam to the eventual romance. And a smile on my face .

Guarded by My Gargoyle is another of those cozy, sweet Fairhaven Falls stories, and it’s always a pleasure returning.
First up for some Flora matchmaking is Garrick Stonehaven just returned to town and scheduled to have some work done on his grounds by the newest resident widow and single mum Maris Calder, who owns the plant nursery, and arrangements made curtesy of Flora.
Well at least she gets to meet her absent neighbor finally, and Oh boy when they do Garrick’s wings get to twitching and the word MINE has just been placed forefront in his mind.
Maris feels a few tingles herself but remains professional throughout their survey of the work needed to be done.
A lovely romance will begin to blossom as they work together, and her talented landscaping brings the life back to his neglected grounds, and into both their hearts.
Family dynamics, humor, drama, her little boy Toby who is a sweetheart, personal vulnerability, friendship, emotion, and passion woven together in a most fabulous and engaging read! HEA.

Maris and her son Toby moved to Fairhaven Falls and she opened a plant nursery and loves using native plants. Her neighbor, Garrick is the wealthy gargoyle owner of Stonehaven Construction. They are separated by a wall. Flora sets up a meeting between them to redo the gardens of his estate. He feels the pull between them and hires her. They build a relationship slowly and it is incredibly sweet. He isn't like the rich people that Maris knows and she is surprised by that, which only makes it easier for her to fall for him. I love the attention Garrick gives to Toby. I also love how previous characters from other books show up in this story.
I love all of the books written by Honey Phillips but the Fairhaven Falls series is my favorite one to read. It's like catching up with old friends. So happy to have visited there again and I am looking forward to the next one.

Perfect.
I love reading about Others, that are really larger than life. Orcs, Minotaurs, Gargoyles. We met Garrick in past Fairhaven stories, and I really looked forward to his story. Maris just wanted to build a life and business by herself. Prove that she didn't need anyone's advice, or call it a hobby. Garrick shut down when his Father stopped caring about the Manor house, after his Mother past. Flora once again uses her Witchy powers to get the two of them together, because she Knows that they are meant to be a mated pair. I really loved the slow burn of how she softens his hard edges, and he shows her that he can be open and warm for her. Her history with her late husband's parents is one of off handed support, while they loved her son Toby, they never really accepted her as the right wife for their son. It was a beautiful story and a perfect HEA ending. Trish. A

Just perfection - a truly lovely addition to the Fairhaven Falls series that filled my heart with such joy 🤩. Maris, a spectacular gardener, is sent by Flora(the best matchmaker in all the land) to help revive and restore Garrick’s property. Don’t know what I loved the most - being back with the much beloved townsfolk or the adoration of a child for a truly good male. Plus Maris and Garrick are the perfect blend of humor and heat all while tiptoeing around what everyone in town already knew 😁 Every time I think I read my favorite FF story (here’s looking at you Ben), I am proven wrong🥰.

Read this one in one sitting! I love a good single mom, he falls hard for them both love story and this didn’t disappoint! If you know the Fairhaven Falls series, of course Flora has some meddling to do but with good reason. She puts Maris on Garrick’s radar but, really, they do the rest. Of course they both have to overcome their own worries and fears but what person (or monster) doesn’t.
This was a great, low angst, just what I needed book! Looking forward to the next in the series already. Oh, you don’t have to have read any of the other books to enjoy this one. They all are great standalones; however, once you read one, I bet you’ll be looking for the rest of the series.

I love this book! First, it's another visit to Fairhaven Falls, my favorite monster town. Second, you get to meet more wonderful characters. Garrick is a gargoyle who has lost the people who matter most to him, and he's incredibly lonely. Maris, a widow with a small son, is his new neighbor. The way their relationship developed kept me hooked on the book until late into the night. (Yes, I'm tired, but so worth it!) This story grabbed my heart several times but then soothed it. This is another fantastic book by one of my favorites, Honey Phillips. I can guarantee I'll be reading this book again!

What a wonderful story with amazing characters. Maris, Garrick and Toby are a delight, the interactions between the three is beautiful and heartwarming. I loved the banter that Aiden kept throwing out and the way all of the town rallied around for Garrick.
Of course everything in Fairhaven Falls would not come about if it wasn't for one meddlesome individual who is the heart and soul of this town.
This is a cozy warm romantic story and it was such a pleasure to read. Amazing as always Honey!.

Another winner for the author!
This was a typical feel-good fairhaven falls story and the only reason I did not give it five stars was the attitude of Maris for a good portion of the book. Garrick was portrayed as a kind, caring individual. So I found myself getting annoyed with Maris's aggravation at his help. She was carrying baggage she needed to let go of! Another suitor would probably have walked away. But I can always count on a HEA and that's why I read Honey Phillip's many stories!

A delightful book!
Excursions to Fairhaven Falls, learning about those who live there is always fascinating. I love this story about Maris, Toby, and Garrick. I totally understand the desire to take charge and fix a problem, but sometimes it’s not the right solution. Garrick is learning the difference. This is a beautifully written romance, also encompassing a young boy who blossoms under the attention he receives. I love it!

Did Not Finish
September 25, 2026DNF 41%. I'm not 100% sure why I can't push through with this installment like I have done with others in the series. I like Maris, I kike Garrick, I like Toby. It's all very sweet. It is also very repetitive and I am kind of over people who are interested in each other inventing reasons not to date. It's an extremely common trope across all genres that include romance I know and normally I don't mind this much but today I don't feel like dealing with it so I'm not gonna.

One of my favourite scenes (minor spoiler) is when Garrick realizes just how much he needed family. Coming to understand his loneliness, although he never classified it as such, and making changes to how he looked at the world around him, started with wakening a little early and not knowing why. Stand out character: Toby. Innocence and hesitation are perfectly resonated with this little 5 year old who comes to idolize the one who makes him feel safe and secure.

Another great book by Honey. Loved being back in Fairhaven and seeing all of the residents especially Flora.
I adored Maris as a landscaper but my bank account isn't as thrilled. I've now got a longer plant wishlist then ever. Toby was a cute kid and it was great seeing him come out of his shell.
Have loved Garrick since he appeared in Robins book so nice seeing his HEA. Excited for the next story

Fairhaven Falls is a favorite series for me, and this new story did not disappoint! I love Garrick and Maris, and little Toby reminds me of my oldest son when he was young. Brought up some happy memories!
