The Reckoning Duet #2
The Ashes of Summer
He was supposed to protect her.
Instead, she was taken..
Summer is gone—torn from Jacob and dragged into a nightmare she doesn’t understand. Trapped in a place where every promise hides a threat and every act of defiance has consequences, survival becomes a matter of endurance… and obedience.
They want her broken.
Back in Rosefield, Jacob Darnell will stop at nothing to bring her home. Every answer uncovers another lie. Every lead exposes a truth that was never meant to be found. And the closer he gets to Summer… the closer he gets to a past capable of destroying everything she thought she knew.
Because love like his isn’t gentle.
It’s relentless.
It’s unforgiving.
And it will burn everything in its path.
Every reckoning burns.
This one leaves ashes.
The Ashes of Summer is Book Two in The Reckoning Duet — a dark romance thriller featuring
• Possessive anti-hero sheriff
• Kidnapping & captivity
• Touch-her-and-die obsession
• Found alliances
• Buried family secrets
• Moral grey hero
• High-stakes violence
• Emotional devastation
• A love that refuses to die
For readers of intense, psychologically dark romance where protection blurs into possession and survival comes at a cost.

I’m drawn to the raw, messy sides of human emotion—obsession, trauma, desire, and the thin line between love and ruin. My work blends small-town grit with morally grey characters and slow-burn tension, the kind of stories that stay with you long after you close the book.
My debut novel, The Fall of Summer, introduces the haunting world of Rosefield, Montana, kicking off The Reckoning Duet. I love exploring power shifts, emotional conflict, and the kind of romance that isn’t pretty—but hits hard.
When I’m not writing, I’m researching, plotting future books, or connecting with readers who share my love of darker, more intense stories. Book Two, The Ashes of Summer, is currently in progress.

I have been anxiously waiting for this book since the Fall of Summer and so glad and lucky I was able to get an ARC copy. The story picks up where Summer was taken and Jacob needs to find her. I love that Summer isn't a victim but a bad ass woman. And Jacob is willing to throw everything away if it means he gets Summer back. This book is dark, intense, emotional, and packed with danger. I highly recommend this book!! But always check TWs before reading :)

ARC copy i luckily received from the author... views are my own.
Well what a bloody roller coaster that was! I mean what the hell? I was hooked from the first page and it continued with twists and turns you didn't see coming. Man it's dark such much packed into this book but all at the right pace.
Firstly what an absolute bad ass fighter Summer is i adore her is even after all she went through but she never gave up because you know why??? BECAUSE THE SHERIFF IS COMING!!
And Jacob our morally grey anti-hero, the guy is absolutely nuts but won't let anyone or anything get in his way to find the woman he loves. However, many obstacles he may face!
This Duet gives Haunting and Hunting Adeline vibes and I and I am so here for it.... Rebecca absolutely smashed this Duet 🙌

WOW, what a book!! A total page-turner that will put you through the ringer of emotions.
When I was asked to ARC read this book after reading the 1st one earlier in the month (The Fall of Summer), I jumped at the chance as that book was amazing, so I was curious to see what the next instalment held & OMG it didn't disappoint!
You pick the story up right from the end of book 1, so you hit the ground running with the anxiety, the fear, the obsession & the anger/revenge, that will get under you skin & transport you into the pages - & that's all within the 1st couple of chapters!
The rest of the book rachet's up all the feels of compassion, the isolation, the violence & physiological trauma that will prompt either eye twitches, but most definitely a few goosebumps prickling along your arms involuntary & all of this is wrapped in a world that is so detailed in it's descriptive narrative that you can literally feel like you are in the scene, tasting & smelling the environment, not just seeing it.
Overall, a gripping & compelling book, that appealed not only to my dark romance roots but also it got my newer thriller girlie excited - brilliant, top tier read that I can't recommend enough.

This book was darker than book one but I couldn’t put it down. It was intense with lots of twists and turns. I had all the emotions reading this book but really enjoyed it. Perfect ending to the duet.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this arc.

I was very lucky to have been given the opportunity to have read this book as an ARC and these are my own words.
The Sheriff is coming… and honestly, I was NOT ready.
Rebecca Dale really said, “You thought the first book was intense? Hold my coffee.” Because The Ashes of Summer completely destroyed me in the best possible way.
From the very beginning, I was completely hooked. The tension, the danger, the emotion… every chapter had me needing to know what was going to happen next. I genuinely struggled to put this ARC down because there was ALWAYS something happening, and just when I thought I had figured things out… nope. Another twist. 😭
What I loved most was the character development. Summer is not written as a helpless victim. She is strong, resilient and determined, and watching her navigate everything thrown at her, it made me admire her so much more. And Jacob… well. Jacob is Jacob. 😂 The possessiveness, the obsession, the absolute touch-her-and-you-die energy had me screaming at the pages.
The emotional side of this book hit HARD. I laughed, I panicked, I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room, and yes… there may have been a few tears. 🥹 The twists genuinely caught me off guard, and there were several moments where I just had to sit there and process what I had read.
Rebecca has somehow managed to make the second book even more intense, more emotional and more addictive than the first. The secrets, betrayals, violence, obsession and love all collide in a way that had me completely invested from beginning to end.
And that ending?! EXCUSE ME?! 😭
The two books that I have read has officially cemented Rebecca Dale as an author I will be watching very closely because I NEED to know what she does next.
If you love dark romance, morally grey men, possessive/protective MMCs, suspense, emotional devastation, twists and a heroine who can absolutely hold her own, please put both of these books on your TBR.
5 stars. Absolutely deserved.
Would I recommend it? 100%.
Would I emotionally recover? Absolutely not. 😂🖤
Rebecca, thank you for the emotional damage. I loved every second of it. 🖤

This one was definitely darker than the first book. There was so much going on, and once Summer was taken, the whole story felt a lot more intense.
I felt so bad for Summer because she was put through so much, and some of the scenes were honestly hard to read. At the same time, I was completely invested in Jacob trying to get her back. He really does go to another level in this book. The whole protector side of him turns into something much darker, and he basically stops caring about the rules or what anyone thinks.
I also really liked the family secrets coming out because they added another layer to the story. There were things Summer didn’t know about her past, and finding out the truth changed so much.
There’s kidnapping, revenge, violence, betrayal and obviously a very obsessive romance. Jacob is definitely not your typical hero, and some of his choices are questionable to say the least 😂 but that’s what makes him fit this kind of dark romance so well.
This book made me get very emotionally. It’s messy, brutal and intense, but I couldn’t stop reading because I needed to know how everything was going to end.
If you like dark romance with morally grey men, obsession, danger and a lot of emotional damage, definitely give this duet a try. 🖤

I am not sure where to start!! I was lucky enough to be an arc reader for both, the fall of summer & part 2 the ashes of summer.
I feel like in the first book of this beautiful work of art, I had a lot of mixed emotions throughout the book I didn’t know who I liked or didn’t, that book pulled me in so many directions in a good kind of way.
As finishing book one I felt a empty void, and I was like how is this going to piece together and come together, what happened to the characters I needed more!
We returned… in book 2 I enjoined the second one! There was no confusion summer was a badass in the second book and I felt that author wrote these characters in such a way, that will forever live in my heart and mind. This book had me up day and night I was reading so much I even read this one on my downtime at work. I ate this book up!! The characters and the familiarity of the town and the continuation just made me feel right back at home.
Rebecca has done it again.
This doesn’t contain spoilers, once I see more reviews come out I will update and talk more about it!! But this gem is not released to public yet!

I was given a copy of the ARC from the author. These are all my opinions.
I was GRIPPED from the minute I started reading until the end!
This is the second in the duet, the first being The Fall of Summer. Which was actually the first dark romance that I bought and Rebecca was the first indie author I ever supported! So so grateful to be brought on this journey with her.
Now, be warned, The Ashes is far more dark than The Fall. Pitch black at times. Check your triggers. The story starts exactly where The Fall ended. We truly see Jacob in his redemption arc in this book.
I love Rebecca’s writing style and the pacing of the book was perfect. You will be taken on a rollercoaster with twists and turns that you won’t see coming, which I always love in a book. I laughed, I cried, I screamed for Summer. She was a f**king badass throughout everything that happens to her.
The way she starts to appreciate and see Jacob and his actions as love because of what she is experiencing melted my black heart a little bit. They tried to break her but her love for Jacob kept her strong.
It is hinted at throughout the book that Jackson Moore (the villain in this duet) has his own back story that has made him how he is and I am really interested to hear this. I am always intrigued on the psychology behind how a monster is created and he is getting his own book so we will get to find this out.
Special mention to Constance. My god I love that woman 🖤

Oh boy what a ride I’ve been waiting for this book and was so lucky 🍀 to be an arc reader and I’m so glad I was. The story continues at the point where Sumner has been taken and Jacob must find her and bring the whole of Jackson’s vile operation down. A good few plot twists and thing I didn’t see coming such a dam good read I’ve got the first book as a hard copy and this one will definitely be added.

Omg! This was amazing. Love the character development, not once did Rebecca make Summer a victim, she’s a warrior. This book had me laughing to crying and feeling everything in between. Not going to give any spoilers but this is definitely my top read of the year along with Fall of Summer. You won’t regret reading these books.

The Ashes of Summer — Rebecca Dale | ARC Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5 stars
After the cliffhanger at the end of The Fall of Summer, I was VERY ready to get my hands on this ARC — and thankfully, this time Rebecca Dale actually gave me an ending. 😂
One of my favourite parts of this book was getting to see a completely different side to Jacob.
The controlling asshole from book one hasn't disappeared entirely — don't worry, he's still in there 😂 — but we get to see a much softer, more human side to him this time around. And when that other side does make an appearance, let's just say he's generally directing it towards much more deserving people!
Summer, though... ❤️
After everything this woman had already been through, she somehow faces even more unimaginable circumstances and yet her strength throughout never disappears. Even when she had opportunities to run, leave or simply save herself, she was still thinking about the people around her and wanting to help them too.
The friendships and loyalty between the characters were another huge highlight for me. I loved watching those relationships develop and seeing just how far people were willing to go for one another.
Much like The Fall of Summer, the first half feels like the build-up. The pieces are being put into place, relationships are developing and you're waiting to see where everything is heading.
Then you hit around 50% and...
GO GO GO. 😂
The action ramps up, everything starts happening and suddenly I was flying through the pages because I needed to know how it was all going to end.
And that ending was probably one of my favourite parts. ❤️
After everything these characters have been through, we finally get to see them stripped of all the labels they've carried — not people in authority, not victims, not the roles they've been forced into — just people being people.
It felt human, comforting and such a lovely way to leave their story.
4.5⭐️
A brilliant conclusion that gave me the action and suspense I wanted while also allowing me to see these characters in a completely different light. ❤️

After finishing The Fall of Summer, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect going into The Ashes of Summer. The first book was unlike most of the dark romances I’ve read, and while I liked it, I was still sitting there afterward thinking, “Okay… how exactly do I feel about all of this?” The Ashes of Summer definitely helped answer that.
This one picks up with Summer gone and Jacob absolutely losing his mind trying to find her. And if you thought Jacob was obsessive and possessive before… apparently that was him exercising restraint. There is basically no line this man will not cross when it comes to Summer.
What I really liked about this book was finally getting answers to so many of the questions and twists from the first one. Once again, nothing is quite what it seems, and the deeper we get into Summer’s family, Rosefield, and everything that has been hidden from her, the messier it gets.
I also really liked watching Summer change. After everything she has been through, she isn't the same woman we met at the beginning of the first book. She has to figure out how to survive, who she can trust, and what she's actually capable of when she's pushed far enough.
And Jacob… listen. That man is still a walking red flag carrying approximately 47 additional red flags in his pockets. I’m not going to pretend anything about their relationship is healthy, but this is a dark romance. We knew what neighborhood we were moving into.
Overall, I think this was a stronger and more satisfying read for me because I was already invested in these characters and finally got to see how everything came together. There were twists I didn't expect, plenty of moments where I questioned who could actually be trusted, and enough chaos to keep me turning the pages.
This duet was definitely darker and different from the dark romances I normally read, and I’m still not entirely sure what that says about me considering I kept reading. But I enjoyed the ride, and The Ashes of Summer gave me the payoff I needed after that first book.

Oh my gosh!! When I say this book had me in a chokehold, I mean I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next, I went through all the emotions with Summer and all the rage with Jacob. This was such a wild ride for the conclusion of this duet and I absolutely loved it! How Dale manages to take the vilest of characters and make them into actual people beneath the monsters, into people that you start to care about and develop feelings for, I have no idea, but she does it through some crazy magic. I can’t get over amazing and perfect this conclusion was for Jacob and Summer’s story. The plot twists were insane and ones that I never saw coming. If you’re looking for one heck of a ride with plenty of suspense, twists & turns, and surprising character developments, The Ashes of Summer will not disappoint! I’m looking forward to Jackson’s story and learning as much as I can about him and how his brain develops him into the character he is by time he comes across Summer.
Favorite Quotes:
“This isn’t a fairytale. It’s a reckoning.”
“Everything burns if you keep the fire going long enough.”
“Baby, there’s no man, animal, or God that could keep me away from you now.”
“You’re perfect. You’ve been through hell and come out the other side. You’re mine. And every time I look at you, I love you more and more.”
“They’ve finally seen the man beneath all the rage – the one who’d burn himself down before he let anybody he loves suffer.”

I devoured the first book in the “Reckoning Duet” and eagerly awaited the second. In short, I wasn’t disappointed. “The Fall of Summer” was intense, and I had a real love-hate relationship with Jacob, but this book far surpasses it in tension and action. Rebecca Dale may be a new author, but her narrative style immediately captivates readers. The plot is full of twists and secrets, heartwrenching emotions, danger, suspense, violence, kidnapping, human trafficking, fade-out SA, and a whole cast of villains and likable characters. Summer has grown tremendously through her experiences over the course of the story, and Jacob, too, is possessive and unhinged after the end of the first book. There were even a few moments when I felt sympathy for the villain, aka Jackson. I was also pleasantly surprised by Summer’s two friends.
This duet absolutely must be read in order, and I recommend taking the trigger warnings into account.
After Jacob was forced to watch helplessly as Jackson escaped with Summer by helicopter, he moves heaven and earth to find them again, even if it means pushing past his limits and breaking the law.
Meanwhile, Summer is held captive by Jackson, who wants to transform her into a different woman and reveals dark secrets about her father that shatter Summer’s worldview and memories. But she refuses to give up on herself, even if it comes at a cost.
All in all, a gripping and emotionally charged dark romance featuring a possessive, morally gray, and unhinged hero, a badass heroine, great character development, suspense, action, danger, twists, and spice—one I’m happy to recommend.
I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

The conclusion to the reckoning duet was phenomenal and what an appropriate name for the duet! This book took me on a wild ride and Rebecca Dale had me feeling all the feels! Am I emotionally compromised after reading this? Yes! Do I regret it? Absolutely not!
I don't think any of us were prepared for Sheriff Jacob Darnell and what he was willing to do to get Summer back. The twists and turns this book took were all unexpected! The morally grey Sheriff stepped up through it all.
Summer experienced the worst of humanity and still came out SWINGING. Babe, you are everyone's HERO for what you endured. Baddie to the end! I loved her character! I especially loved her besties Adelaide and Constance. They are the definition of ride or die... And CONSTANCE? Unexpected! 👀 I see you babes!
The tension, the unknowns, the danger, the RECKONING! It was exceptionally well written and honestly, I need about 10 business days to process this some more 😂

Perfect ending to a perfect duet.
𝙹𝚊𝚌𝚘𝚋 𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚎𝚕𝚕. No, wait… 𝑆ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑓𝑓 𝐽𝑎𝑐𝑜𝑏 𝐷𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑙𝑙 came back with a vengeance, and boy, did he DELIVER.
There is absolutely nothing like a 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎 𝚖𝚊𝚗 who will literally burn everything to the ground to get his girl back, and that is exactly what happened here.
This book is extremely intense and 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘, 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 and should be approached with the utmost caution. 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑙𝑦, 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑔𝑔𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑏𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑎 𝑏𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑜 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑑.
𝑅𝑒𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑐𝑎 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝑎𝑛 𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑗𝑜𝑏 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑑𝑢𝑒𝑡. In book one, we fell in love with Jacob & Summer, which made the absolute carnage of book two hit that much harder.
So many things were revealed. 𝚃𝚠𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚜 𝙸 𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚞𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚕𝚢 𝚍𝚒𝚍 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚜𝚎𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚐. Traumatic events that nobody should ever have to experience. And ultimately, a full-circle moment that, thankfully, had a positive outcome. 𝙵𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚝. 👀
Jacob was ruthless, obsessive and completely determined to get to Summer, and I ate up every second of it.
I absolutely LOVED these books. The duet delivered on the darkness, the intensity, the twists, the angst and the emotional devastation.

The Ashes of Summer is the action packed conclusion of the Reckoning Duet. I was anxious to see what Summer’s fate would be after that killer cliffhanger from book 1…I was stressed!
While The Fall of Summer was distinctly a dark romance, The Ashes of Summer felt more like a thriller. It is darker as well, so be sure to check those TWs as they are different than book 1.
Summer, Constance, and Adalaide stole the show! Their strength and growth was a strong point of the series for me…I love badass FMCs.
The Ashes of Summer does a nice job of wrapping up the cliffhangers and loose ends from book 1 for a satisfying conclusion. I really appreciated how Rebecca Dale handled the victims in the story.
Finally, if you love morally grey men who will burn down the world for their women, Jacob is your man!

I received an ARC of this book and it has taken me longer than I care to admit to write this review. Not because I didn't love it. Because I loved it so much that words have genuinely failed me until now.
The Ashes Of Summer is book two of the Reckoning Duet and Rebecca Dale has delivered something truly spectacular. As a massive fan of this author I went in with high expectations and she did not just meet them — she obliterated them completely.
This book left me speechless in the best possible way. The kind of read that sits with you long after the last page. The kind that makes you stare at the ceiling processing everything you just experienced before you can even think about moving on.
Every reckoning burns. This one leaves ashes. And those words could not be more perfect because that is exactly what this book does to you.
Rebecca Dale is an author who operates on a completely different level and this duet proves it beyond any doubt. If you have not started the Reckoning Duet then please do so immediately.
One of the best books I have read this year. Hands down. No competition. 🖤🔥
5 stars. No notes. Absolutely none.

I waited for what felt like an eternity for this read and it was just as amazing as The Fall Of Summer. This book starts off where book one left off with Summer (Fmc) being taken against her will and Jacob (Mmc) trying to find her. This read is a bit on the darker side so please read your triggers. I loved the plot twists within this read but be prepared because you'll be on an emotional roller coaster with no way off. The world building within this series truly stood out with how descriptive it was written, it immersed me within a matter of chapters. I absolutely loved this read and would highly recommend you add it to your tbr. I got this arc via the author and this is my voluntary review.

I know I don't have a lot of followers or people asking me about what books they should read next, so am telling you that you need to read The Reckoning duet!
I thought book 1 was good, man book 2 is even better. I was mad, sad, happy, crying, pissed 😤, disgusted ,and every other feeling I could have, I had it.
Jacob has to get to Summer, the women his is in love with. Summer was taken by Jackson, a guy who is in the business of trafficking women.
Jacob
Morally gray
Touch her and ☠️
Burn 🔥 the world down for her
Anger 😡 issues
Age gap
Summer
Fast learner
Strong FMC
Has 2 of the world's best friends( Constance is my girl)
Jackson lost his love and was trying to turn Summer into her. He is a very intense character, he had me flinching when he yelled in my head..lol.
Maybe your like me and judge books by there cover and was like nah or your like I don't like cop storys. Please look passed that and read this duet.
Thanks to Rebecca , for letting me read your ARC. I can't wait to read more by you. Also i'm curious about Jackson's story 😶🌫️😬

Wow, wow wowwwww!!!
I love the character development the character arc specifically with Jacob, ending up with such an emotional tie to this man after how book 1 starts is such a journey and just adore him.
This book takes you throughout, it's dark, it's gritty, it's emotional and heartfelt. Yes it's dark romance, it's thriller and it covers such emotional topics and you really connect with the characters.
You cannot put this book down, I literally finished within 24 hours and that was with working as well!
Super proud of Rebecca what an incredible duet.
Some hot takes:
Jacob is just an obsessed dedicated Hun and I love him
Jackson is a damaged boy that needs therapy and a safe word
Constance is a badass and she's my fave
And summers lil sassy era shooting people is a slay

Good conclusion to the first. However I don’t understand the need to create sympathy for a sex trafficking rapist? The author mentioned how the next book is about Jackson and how he became the monster he is, and I disagree with that as it will just create sympathisers for him and that is not needed.
Also the ending would have been better if she got to pursue her dream of wanting to go to college and move out of the town that she thought nearly killed her.

The Ashes of Summer by Rebecca Dale
Well… this one took me THROUGH IT.
Picking up where book one left us, The Ashes of Summer is darker, more intense and definitely more hard-hitting. Please check the TWs before reading, because this one doesn’t hold back.
It’s a quick, addictive read, but wow, did it put me through ALL the emotions. Anxiety, sadness, tears, anger… and eventually some happiness too. My poor emotions didn’t know what was happening!
Summer is an absolute survivor. She’s strong, resilient and refuses to be broken. And Jacob? That man will stop at NOTHING to get his woman back. Together, these two are a force to be reckoned with.
And can we talk about the found family?! I loved this part of the story so much. Constance especially had me laughing with her sass — she was such a brilliant addition and brought some much-needed humour to the heavier moments.
Overall, a very enjoyable read that had me completely invested. Darker than book one, emotional, intense and full of characters you can’t help but root for.
Thank you for the ARC. This is my honest review.

The Ashes of Summer
please read the trigger warnings before reading any book!
This is the second book in the series and I have happily waiting to post my review for the ARC I received.
Jacob and Summer go through it in this book, that is putting it mildly. Which is why I could not put this book down, I had to see what was going to happen next. That’s how you know it’s good writing! The way this man burned down everything on his path to get to his woman! Wow!!! There was so much character growth and change for both main characters. Though it was heartbreaking at times and hard to read, in the end, it was totally worth it. When I tell you this book is an emotional roller coaster, trust me , it is . I absolutely love Jacob and Summer , their story is all the emotions
I really hope there is a book 3 :)

I was given the ARC through the author.
I was so excited to read this book. I had so many questions. After reading the Fall of Summer. The questions have been answered and more.
I hated Jacob in the first book. But after reading this book. He has a special place in my hart.
I have great respect for Summer. She became such a tough women. Never losing hope.
Don't forget her best friends. They are badass women. Especially Constance, you go girl.
This book made me scream. Cheer for Summer and Jacob. But also surprised by her best friends. Sometimes I wanted to crawl in the book. To beat Jackson.

I received this book from the author and wanted to leave a voluntary review. I am so thankful because this duet had me in a chokehold!
Waiting after The Fall of Summer was an absolute nightmare, but the second I got my hands on the sequel, it was worth the wait. To say that I handled this book well would be a complete lie. I was a wreck. The roller coaster of emotions definitely left me sitting after each chapter just to process and handle what was going on.
I highly recommend this series, I truly can’t ever get enough of our beloved sheriff.

This is the follow up to The Fall of Summer and it was an amazing read. It starts off where book one left off with FMC, Summer. being taken against her will and MMC, Jacob. trying to find her. It’s full of tension, suspense, twists, and great world building. The characters are well written and go through so much character growth and changes in this book. It’s beautifully written and will leave you on the edge of your seat as you make your way through the emotional rollercoaster that is this book.

What a nice conclusion to Summer and Jacob love story.
I was all in from the first book and this second one is even better. It's really keeping you on the edge of your seat.
If you thought Jacob was evil, wait until you meet Jackson and his men. A monster fighting another monster, it's pure chaos and violence.
This duet is captivating, well written and has plenty of little twists. Overall, it's a 4.5 stars read!
