Hated it. The reviews on good reads were amazing, then realized it was only 5 reviews. The story made no sense. Characters were not properly introduced. Everything annoyed me so I couldn’t finish it. Made it 25% of the way in. Everything was ominous the entire time, with the main character afraid of everyone and everything, but yet she stayed in the job, never spoke up. The people the rescue in the canyon in this first 25%—they say it’s a group of 6, with one missing. But they only introduce 4 names. It didn’t make sense, and it didn’t make sense why they were there stranded in the canyon. Just a book of confusing red flags and ominous story telling that was so cheesy.

✨ 3.5 stars ✨ I took my first trip to the Grand Canyon and this was my book selection for the trip! There were a couple of descriptive phrases that were used over and over throughout the book. They drive me absolutely crazy and took away from the story 🙃 that said, I enjoyed the story overall. Especially the ending! If you’re looking for a light, entertaining read where nature is the star then I recommend! I look forward to the second installment when it’s published and I think Ellsworth will only sharpen her writing the more she publishes.
