The Good Girls pick’s right up where The Book Daddy Left off with Holly, Ivy, River and of course Hunter, who are trying to navigate their shared relationships. Ivy and Holly find themselves split between responsibilities and celebrating Valentines Day with the men they love. Ivy struggles to get her bookstore up and running in time for Maple Brook Falls’ very first town wide book fundraiser.
River finds himself torn between his work duties and his budding relationship with the trio of his dreams. Meanwhile his family struggles to grasp the dynamics of his relationships.
Hunter on the other hand navigates his emotions towards all three people in his relationship, hoping he doesn’t implode the whole dynamic with one false move. Can daddy Hunter find a way to express his pent up feelings?
Will the group falter under all the stress and holiday demands or can they pull off a fundraiser like no other and still savor their relationship? Come find out in The Good Girls, A Maple Brook Falls Novel.
The Good Girls by K.M. Avery welcomes us back to Maple Brook Falls and that magical season when love is in the air, small-town gossip travels faster than Cupid armed with espresso, and nothing is quite as dangerous as the foursome of Hunter, Ivy, River, and Holly when it comes to protecting the people they love. But fair warning: make sure you've read The Book Daddy first, otherwise you'll be walking into this story like someone who showed up halfway through a group chat and immediately asked, “Wait… who's dating who?”
It's the season of love, and with Valentine's Day approaching, the girls want nothing more than to shower their guys with sugary sweetness and romantic chaos. But between getting Ivy's bookstore ready to open, Holly trying to keep her store afloat solo, and River struggling under the weight of a family unwilling to support his lifestyle choices, the day they've envisioned starts slipping further out of reach. One disaster after another sends the group hurdling through emotional and logistical hoops to pull off a town-wide fundraiser that could either revive the local economy or leave everyone stress-eating heart-shaped cookies in defeat. But when the town rallies around them in full force, the foursome may just discover that love and community can carry even the heaviest burdens.
The Good Girls brings back our favorite characters who, at this point, need absolutely no introduction. Avery already laid the groundwork in book one of the Maple Brook Falls series and wastes no time diving straight back into the delicious emotional mayhem. One of the strongest developments here is River's emotional and physical journey. Avery peels back the layers of his armor and allows us to see the vulnerability beneath the confidence, making him feel even more relatable and fully realized. Hunter remains a steady and vital piece of the dynamic, though we also get glimpses of a softer, more intimate side of him that deepens his connection to the group. Meanwhile, Holly and Ivy continue to serve as the emotional backbone of the foursome.
Together, these characters feel wonderfully human, stumbling over their own emotional shoelaces while trying to keep their hearts intact. Avery gives them room to make mistakes, grow, and occasionally spiral just enough to keep things entertaining, all without losing the bright rom-com sparkle that makes the series so addictive.
Avery transforms Maple Brook Falls into the Valentine's Day version of a Hallmark movie that missed its exit, swerved into reality, and somehow became better for it. The story is heartwarming, genuinely spicy, and packed with flirty banter that radiates relationship goals brighter than a candy heart left too close to a candle. Beneath the swooning and chaos is the kind of romance readers secretly wish could arrive gift-wrapped in a heart-shaped chocolate box with free overnight shipping.
But beneath it all, The Good Girls is a story that beats with the reminder that love isn't just a grand gesture; it's in the small things – a forgiven mistake, a shared meal, an honest conversation, and allowing yourself to be brave enough to face life, even if it isn't what others want for you.
So if you are looking for a story with a lot of spice, some full-of-heart characters, a town who won't let them forget how amazing they are, and a connection with each other that will tug at your heartstrings, add The Good Girls to your list for release on 6/15/2026.
Available for pre-order on Amazon.
Thank you to K.M. Avery for allowing me to Alpha/Beta/ARC for The Good Girls. As always, all opinions and reviews are of my own volition. I have not been promised any compensation by the author or publisher for a fair and honest review.
The Good Girls is the second book in Avery's Maple Brook Falls series. The Good Girls, another spicy, small town, holiday romance, picks up where The Book Daddy (Book 1) left off. These books should be enjoyed in order.
We met Hunter, Ivy, Holly and River in the first book. They're back again and this time it is almost Valentine's Day.
Ivy is focused not only on her novel, but also on her bookstore. The hope is that the opening will coincide with Maple Brook Falls’ first town-wide book fundraiser. This event is very important to the town and its future. It is an all-hands-on-deck situation.
River is doing his best to be there for his new partners but finds himself spread thin with his responsibilities to the family business. He's also trying to deal with his family's less than stellar opinion of his new relationship. His stress levels are quite high.
Holly continues to run her sweets shop, while also navigating her new polyamorous relationship. It is hard to be everywhere at once but she's hoping to bring in some help to help in the day to day affairs of her shop.
Hunter is the central person in their polyamorous relationship, as well as the key individual keeping Maple Brook Falls running. He also has to look after the homestead.
These four individuals all have a lot going on in their lives. They endeavor to fulfill their responsibilities, and still be present for their partners, especially with Valentine's Day right around the corner. This book revisits all four characters, their joys and their struggles. It also further explores the dynamic of their polyamorous relationship: Hunter is a dominant, Ivy is a submissive, and both Holly and River swing both ways.
While their sexual appetites may not be your cup of tea, there is no denying that these characters are relatable in their struggles. None of them is perfect, and their lives are messy, but they have the love and support of their partners who continue to hold them up and encourage them when times are challenging.
Once again, I enjoyed the small town charm this book offers. The characters definitely deliver in both the heat and heart departments. I believe there may be yet another installment to this series. It will be interesting to see what Avery next has in store for her characters.
First, a huge thank you to K.M. Avery for providing me with an ARC of The Good Girls. My apologies for the delay in sharing this review—between buying a home and moving, it’s been a hectic few weeks, but I finally had the chance to dive into this gripping story.
The Good Girls is a dark, twisty ride full of suspense, complex characters, and just the right amount of edge-of-your-seat tension. K.M. Avery delivers a story that keeps you guessing, blending psychological depth with shocking revelations in a way that feels both thrilling and emotionally resonant.
The characters are compelling and layered, especially the leads whose motivations and secrets kept me intrigued throughout. The relationships are intense, sometimes messy, and deeply human, giving the story a grounded emotional core amidst the darker plot twists.
While the pacing occasionally slows in some quieter moments, the tension quickly ramps back up, keeping me hooked until the very end. Avery’s writing style is immersive and engaging, drawing you into the suspenseful world she’s crafted with precision and care.
For readers who enjoy dark, suspenseful stories with morally complex characters, gripping twists, and a hauntingly compelling atmosphere, The Good Girls is a standout.
✨ A darkly compelling read with secrets, suspense, and characters you’ll be thinking about long after the final page.
The Good Girls is a sweet, steamy, and heartwarming continuation of the Maple Brook Falls series that feels like coming home to characters you’ve already grown to love.
Holly, Ivy, River, and Hunter are back, and this installment focuses more on relationship growth than dramatic twists. Watching them balance family expectations, work responsibilities, a town-wide fundraiser, and the complexities of their unconventional relationship made for an engaging and cozy read.
Hunter was easily one of my favorite parts of the story. Seeing him navigate his emotions while trying not to upset the delicate balance of the group added depth and vulnerability to his character. River’s struggles with family acceptance and Ivy’s determination to make her bookstore dream a reality also gave the story emotional weight beyond the romance.
While the pacing occasionally felt slower due to the focus on everyday life and relationship dynamics, the strong character connections kept me invested. Readers looking for high drama may want more conflict, but those who enjoy character-driven romance and found-family vibes will likely appreciate the quieter moments.
Overall, The Good Girls delivers plenty of heart, romance, and small-town charm. It’s a satisfying follow-up that lets readers spend more time with beloved characters while watching their relationships continue to grow and evolve.
The Good Girls was a fun, sweet, and spicy small-town romance filled with flirty banter, heartfelt moments, and plenty of relationship development.
This story picks up where The Book Daddy left off, following Ivy, Holly, Hunt, and River as they continue navigating their relationship while balancing work, family expectations, and the pressures of everyday life. I really enjoyed seeing their connections deepen throughout the story and how each character's feelings and struggles were explored.
I was invested in Ivy's journey to get her bookstore ready for the town's first book fundraiser. It was also great to see Hunt and River's relationship develop further. Their growing bond added emotional depth to the story, and I enjoyed seeing them become more comfortable expressing their feelings. The chemistry between all four characters was strong, making it easy to root for their happiness.
The Valentine's Day setting added an extra layer of sweetness, while the spice and romantic moments kept things entertaining. If you enjoy polyamorous romance, small-town settings, found family vibes, and a mix of sweet and steamy moments, this is definitely worth picking up.
Thank you to K. M. Avery for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was an amazing book it is the 2nd in the Maple Brooke Falls Series. This book picks up where the good daddy left off. I recommend that you do read these in order just to stay current. In this book it is almost Valentine's Day and Hunter, Ivy, Holly, and River are all back in this book. Ivy is focused on her novel and bookstore. River is trying to be present for their new partners, but managing the family business is making them feel spread thin. Holly still runs her amazing, sweet shop. While trying to get the swing of her new poly relationship. I feel she is kind of spread too thin as well. Then there is Hunter he is the main point of the poly relationship. He is the key individual keeping Maple Brook Falls running and thriving. He is also running the homestead. They all have a lot going on in their lives, they try to full fill their responsibilities and still be present for their relationship. Especially with the Love holiday coming up. Overall, I love these characters and their relationship. I love how they're not perfect and their lives are chaotic, but they manage together. I love how no matter what they support and love each other thru it. They are deliver in the heart and spice department as well.

🎀 Small Town Vibes 🎀 Dom/Sub 🎀 "Yes Daddy" 🎀 Found Family Vibes 🎀 Polyamorous Spice: 🌶🌶 Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Book 2 in the Maple Brooks Falls Series
Super lighthearted, fun, flirty, fast read. If you love spicy reads that feel cute and cosy with nothing too dark or heavy this ones for you. (Think super sweet Hallmark movie x spicy scenes)
This book follows straight on from The Book Daddy and we find out what happened next for Ivy, Holly, Hunt (Daddy) and River.
Holly and Ivy together are so much fun, they are like a pair of naughty school girls who cant help but get into trouble.
Hunt is so thoughtful; how he juggles all the needs of everyone around him and the town is a super power in itself.
I would have loved to sit in some scenes a little longer, there are a couple of really emotional scenes in the book that move on quite quickly so I didnt get the emotional connection thag I crave but it was still a good read. It was great to see how the relationship with Hunt and River developed but I would have loved more of their journey.
Releasing to the wild on the 15th! Back to Maple Brook Falls with our favorite foursome! Yes I still haven't learned if there's a term for that, google just says quad but I feel like there's an actual name 😅. This book gave me more smut than plot vibes, but I'm not complaining one bit 🥵! The ending isn't what I thought I'd see, but it was so cute! Now I have questions for book 3 😂. It was fun to see how all 4 of them have grown and changed, and how their little town has grown as well. I still have the same feeling towards Scott, he better not screw up Ivy & Hunter's family! I'm trying not to guve spoilers but Ivy's bookstore hurt my little bookloving heart 😭. Hunter's implied..jewelry that he gave them all! 😱 I seriously can't wait to see what our 4 lovers get up too next! Thank you @author_k.m.avery for the privilage to be part of your ARC team once again!

The Good Girl's is a heartwarming continuing on the Maple Brook Falls Series. This book was sweet, spicy and absolutely heartwarming in everyway. This story continues following Hunter, Ivy, Holly, and River picking up from book one The Book Daddy. This story follows them balancing work and life expectations and life in general. Ive been waiting for this book to follow Ivy's new bookstore opening with the towns first book fundraiser. I've enjoyed reading their growing bond between each other growing stronger throughout the series. With Valentine's day adding an extra sweetness into the mix, it made the perfect balance between Romance and spice. Highly Recommend!! I got this via the author and this is my voluntarily review.
The Good Girls by K.M. Avery welcomes us back to Maple Brook Falls where It's the season of love.
But for this foursome valentines day insn't quite the season of love they imagened, with so many personal and professional hurdles to climb can this foursome get the town to rally around them and help pull off a town wide fundraiser to help try to revive the local econamy.
Im not sure things get any easier for this foursome, but seeing them navigate work, personal life and their unconventional relationship has its highs and lows, with deeply meaniful and heartfelt moments, a rollercoaster of emotion and spice that will make you sweat.
Yet another fun, flirty and complicated chapter of this foursomes story in the town of maplebrook falls
Book 2 in the Maple Brook Falls series has us picking up right where book 1 leaves off. Please please check the blurb and tropes before jumping in because this is not your normal holiday romance story. This is a why choose/polygamy love fest where the characters will make you fall in love and have you questioning your moral compass. Hunter, Ivy, Holly, and River continue their relationship from book 1 and if i’m being honest, they have a better connection and more successful communication dynamic than more straight 2 people couples out in the real world. Each of them are navigating through their own struggles, Ivy with opening her book store in time to be part of the town fundraiser, Holly with her candy store that is having troubles, River and his family not being entirely supportive of his new relationship situation, and at the root of it all Hunter. There’s a lot on Hunter’s shoulders since he’s not only the core of the group but he’s also a huge part of the reason why the town is even operating and holding steady the way it is. It’s a lot of pressure for one person but he finds solace in the arms of his 3 loves.
As always, first and foremost Thank You to K. M. Avery for allowing me the opportunity to read your book!
This book started shortly after where The Book Daddy ended. I love the progression of their relationship and how they are all learning the dynamic of it! The struggles they have faced with family and the understanding of the group was well written, there was some fight from the families mostly because it was not something that is normally seen, but the understanding to be happy in the end was so refreshing. Hunter shows that he is willing and able to make all their dreams come true! And they all come together to support each other no matter what and they all have their part to play in making sure that they are happy in the end!
📚 OMG… I JUST FINISHED The Good Girls by K.M. Avery and I have THOUGHTS! 😳🔥
I was hooked! The chemistry, the tension, the drama….
There were definitely moments where I wanted to yell at the characters, moments where I was like awww and a few where I was Oh no! 😳
And the spice?! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ YES. PLEASE. 🔥
I loved the messy relationships, the emotional moments, and the small town vibe! This was such a fun, addictive read and exactly the kind of book that makes you forget you have responsibilities. 😂
If you’re looking for something with romance, drama, spice, questionable decisions, and characters you can’t stop thinking about, add this one to your TBR!
The Good Girls: A Maple Brook Falls Novel takes place after book one with Ivy, Hunt, Holly and River. This one was full of spice, found-family, flirty and a super quick read. The way these four navigate their new relationship is absolutely beautiful and I love that. The way Hunt, Holly and River all rallied to help Ivy get her shop up and ready in a short time was real and true. Aside from the fast-paced, this also showed the real and true feelings about what the four of them are going through and the feelings they have whether its everyday life or just needing some time to breathe.
I cannot wait to see what happens next and will happily read the next book in the series.
Where to start. I ate this book up!! I loved the 4 main characters, their friends, how their relationship flourished into something everyone can relate to wanting. I just love the candy shop, the book store and how supportive the town is. Can I say how jealous I am of the relationships between the main characters. I just adore how much they love each other and the thought they put into every situation. The spice was perfect!! Who wants to take me on a shopping spree and buy me all the things. I love reading about the ladies being spoiled like the little brats they are. I want more so really hoping there are more books in this series.
K.M. Avery did it again as if I didn’t get enough of Daddy Hunter and River in the first book this book just made me want another book even more. The chemistry between ivy, hunter and river is amazing. For me Holly is still debatable even though River is in love with her. But the chemistry between the 4 of them is off the charts. This time I had my feelings all over the place. I went from awww moments, to oh hell no that just happened, to omg I feel so bad. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out and really hope this story continues. I just love the way that K.M. Writes and she has quickly become a favorite indie author.
This read continues the relationship of Ivy, Hunter, Holly and River. The group is trying to get Ivy's book store up and running in time for the fundraiser. I really loved these four and how supportive they are as they navigate their relationship. Daddy is of course the ultimate Dom and River is fast learning the ropes. hollys nickname is trouble but she's trying to be a good girl And ivy is a good girl trying to be a bit naughty lol I can't wait for more of these 4! And to add it to my shelf
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This is a spicy romance that takes place in a cozy small town. I love that the Daddy/Dom dynamic felt caring rather than just controlling. This book has plenty of spice, and it's balanced well with an interesting plot.
Tropes: Good girl Small town Daddy/Dom Age gap Bisexuality Polygamy
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
I would recommend it to readers who enjoy spicy, cozy small town romances! Make sure to read 'Book Daddy', the first book of the series before this one.
Maple Brook Falls has officially stolen my heart. 💘
The Good Girls gave me everything I wanted—small-town charm, a relationship that feels real, plenty of spice, and characters who are messy, lovable, and doing their best. Watching Hunter, Ivy, Holly, and River navigate life, love, and all the chaos in between had me smiling the entire time.
This isn’t just a romance; it’s a story about found family, community, and showing up for the people you love. Sweet, spicy, heartfelt, and impossible not to root for.
If you loved The Book Daddy, this one is an absolute must-read. 🩷📚
Absolutely devoured this book - yet another amazing installment in the series. I love the dynamic between Ivy, Holly, River, and Hunt. They work so well together, and you can feel how deeply they all care for one another. Their relationships, the way they support each other, and the emotional moments between them made this story impossible to put down.
Thank you so much, K.M. Avery, for the opportunity to be an ARC reader. I'm already looking forward to every future book you publish.
4.5 stars This book was everything I didn’t know I needed. The relationship dynamic between Holly, Ivy, Hunter, and River is relationship goals. The trust and communication they have with each other is amazing! I loved how the whole town came together to in support of the family and thr community as a whole. I love the small town vibes and can’t wait to see what else is in store for Maple Brook Falls.
This is the second book in the Maple Brook Fall series and continues on from the first book with the main characters - Hunter, Holly, Ivy and River. These 4 characters are trying to navigate their life and relationship in Maple Books Fall. I found the characters more emotional in this book which I really enjoyed. The spice is very hot and entwined throughout the storyline. Do these 4 characters work their life out as one? You will have to read it to find out.
This is an honest review. I received an advance copy from the author, and I appreciate the opportunity to read this story before its publication.
I enjoyed the book and seeing the dynamic between this couple again, although, as in the previous book, I think many themes are touched upon but not fully developed. Undoubtedly, the dynamic of their relationship continues to be defined and is a bit confusing.
The Good Girls takes us right back to Maple Brook Falls with Hunt, Ivy, Holly and River. Not only do Ivy and Holly want to make this the perfect Valentine's Day for their guys, we also see the group grow and their relationships with each other develop. The ups and downs of learning new partners and sharing lives is multiplied in their new polyamorous relationship. I love how it shows the real highs and lows of navigating the relationships between everyone.
Four people -- Hunter, Ivy, Holly, and River -- just living their lives, working within the new relationship dynamics, and creating a work/life balance that functions successfully for them. We see their struggles, inherent flaws, and all the characteristics that make them human and relatable.
It was nice to see the love and support they had, lifting each other up, and becoming the best fit and true self, they could be.
Thank you to K.M. Avery for another good read! This book is book 2 in the maple falls series so make sure you read that one before diving into this one! This one was even better than the first book and I’ll stand by my choice Daddy Hunter is whew! The story is amazing and I love how diverse the characters are even when they are flawed but they are perfect and Ivy has grown into herself so much and I can’t wait to see what other shenanigans they get into in book 3!
Second book in the Maple falls And OmG didn't disappoint this book follows ivy Hunter Holly and river while they navigate their relationship as a foursome Does it work will it work find out I absolutely loved the characters so much I hope there more soon The banter the spice and the story that follows in general while they get ready for the big event
This was such a great addition this series and is my favorite so far! I loved reading how River came to terms with his sexuality and navigating that with his family. I also loved reading how the 4 main characters navigated and built their new relationship with each other. I absolutely can't wait for the next one!
