A really interesting book about the author who found himself anonymously accused of all kinds of horrible stuff during the #Metoo Movement. The book tries to have a difficult, nuanced conversation where nuance isn't normally allowed or is outright shouted down. Royer wrestles with everything from the guilt and shame of his past behavior in an industry known for being on the edge, to trying to figure out what he actually may have done, given that he was never given specifics or even confronted by an accuser. Everything was anonymous and lumped in with other men accused of truly heinous behavior. He lost his career and livelihood, and instead of fighting about it, he decides to seek understanding and even offer a full-throated apology. This book is blunt, funny at times, heartbreaking at others. Very interesting and worth a read.
An excellent and much needed book. I hope people will read this and perhaps do some introspection and reconsideration. Ted has certainly done his share, and he does a terrific job chronicling it in this book.
