A new adventure set in Fern Port, where a certain half vampire is about to wreak havoc on the heart of one stubborn woman! A cozy paranormal romantic comedy perfect for fans of My Roommate is a Vampire and Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

He is thirsty for her… in every single way.

Faye Montogomery isn’t looking for a relationship.

Life in Fern Port, where the supernatural co-exists with the mundane, is hectic enough; between taking care of her younger siblings and keeping her family’s small movie theatre alive, romance is not a priority… and she can’t forget the dangers of letting her guard down.

If only she could stop thinking about what almost was with the half-vampire that moved to town and his relentless courting techniques that shouldn’t be working.

It doesn’t help that everyone, including her entire family, is smitten with him… and that his bloodlust is not as scary as it sounds.

Marcus Campbell can never go home.

Banned from setting foot back in England by his father, who hates him and his own ex-wife for carrying vampire blood, Marcus is trying to start over in Fern Port, in a place his brother Cedric secured for him. A town where there are others like him sounds like a favorable change of scenery, and yet Marcus was determined to dislike it—Until meeting Faye, his sister-in-law’s best friend, and the most stubborn, fascinating woman he has ever laid eyes upon. When Marcus receives mysterious threats and his thirst for her reaches new peaks, he’s torn between pursuing his heart’s deepest desire… and facing the choice of letting her go.

With their feelings becoming undeniable and Marcus’s blood cravings making him an unpredictable presence for Faye, will the perils surrounding them and Faye’s complicated reluctance draw them together, or push them inexorably apart?

First and foremost, a huge thanks to the lovely author, L.V. Oaks, for the arc copy!!
4.5⭐️

I was so excited to return to Fern Port because I loved the first book in the duet, A Peony For Your Claws. And I was even more excited because I knew Marcus would be the guy for me.😩

Right off the bat, the writing style is very true to the author, she has this very everyday tone (in the best way) which makes it easy and funny to read, but still leaves space for touchier or heavier subjects, in a way that's close to the reader and makes it relatable and you can feel for the characters.
We already got to know the characters a little bit in book 1, but I really liked being inside their heads. Faye especially, really grew as a person, mostly in opening up, trusting people and taking care of herself too. Marcus is a fun guy, and I was obsessed with how obsessed he is. He adores Faye and he makes it known and yearns hard. I love a yearner. There were also many other familiar characters who I was happy to meet again, especially Delilah and Cedric, sweet old lovebugs. (Also Grandma was a personal favorite meddler of mine🤍)
I was quite surprised with the mystery element of the story, but I liked it. I gotta say, I was suspicious of quite a few people, mostly wrongfully. Anyway, the only thing that I wasn't really satisfied with is how quickly the last conflict was handled, felt a little rushed.

All in all, I loved the love story, I loved the characters and their growth, I loved the family, the friendships, the writing style and the whole vibe of this supernatural small town romance book!

I've said this before, and I'll say it again - if L.V. Oaks writes it, I'll read it!🤍

Fang Me Later is about two people, both, in their own way, hoping to find love that demands nothing of them.

Faye Montgomery is proud of her family's ties to Fern Port. She's never considered leaving this small haven, home to humans and monsters alike. And besides, people need her. Her family needs her. And as long as she's needed, she feels she serves a purpose and that's worth setting aside any of her own wishes or wants.

In a way, maybe that's why Faye is so alarmed by Marcus's obvious crush on her. It doesn't feel earned. She did nothing but be her usual grumpy no-nonsense self, and he LIKED it. Weird, no?

Marcus, a half-vampire (dhampir) was essentially forced out of England by his father, who was ashamed of having a half-vampire as a son. Forced to live in Fern Port, he was quite set on hating every moment of it until he laid eyes on Faye. He instantly liked her. She, on the other hand, went out of her way to avoid him. But Marcus is nothing if patient and charming, and maybe one day he'll win her over.

Marcus is probably one of my favourite MMCs, I love how devoted, funny, and talkative he is. A delicious contrast to Faye's more sullen temperament.

It was really lovely to see this two characters reach and grasp for the HEA they both clearly deserve. I'm so glad Marcus has found a place to set his roots, and I'm so proud of Faye for having the bravery to finally state what she wants and needs.

This book was a great way to start spooky season, and I can't wait to read the first book in the series!

ARC REVIEW

I was so excited for this book and it was even better than I hoped!!

Since A Peony for Your Claws I was very curious about Faye's and Marcus' story and I loved going back to Fern Port and getting to know them better. They're such great characters. I was completely in love with Marcus from the very beginning, he's so charming and funny. I honestly don't know how Faye could resist him for so long. Faye is such a badass, she's fierce and loyal but she also has some fears and insecurities that I related to a lot.

I really like the way their relationship developed, it was very sweet and heartwarming, there were a lot of great moments for me. And I loved how both of them had to evolve to make it happen. I especially liked to watch Faye figure out her feelings and how patient and considerate Marcus is with her. Also. He's the consent KING and I love it. For me, it was a great balance of cute and hot moments.

Faye's family is really fun, I loved getting to know more of them, Therese is the best!!! And it was amazing to see more of Delilah and Cedric! They definitely have a special place in my heart.

The book is great, 10/10 would recommend it. I had A LOT of fun, was very curious to figure out what was going on and I just LOVED Faye and Marcus, they have a great dynamic and I honestly could read so much more about them and never be bored.

Return to Fern Port with our grumpy FMC, Faye, and adorable besotted vampire MMC, Marcus.
This book was a wonderful supernatural small town romance with found family (both blood and friendship based) and lots of character growth.
Marcus is a gold star MMC and the consent king
Faye may seem sullen and cranky but once you are in circle her depth of care knows no bounds
This book kept me guessing and intrigued as the mystery of where the threats against Marcus are coming from.
There is funny banter between multiple different characters but especially Marcus and Faye
All in all this was a 5⭐️ read for me and a great book for spooky season
**I feel like it is critical to read the first book in the series Peony for your Claws because you have a solid groundwork on all the characters **

3⭐

First of all I want to thank L.V. Oaks for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I really liked Marcus's character and how he devoted his days to Faye. He is obsessed with her and would do anything for her. And I loved the world. It explores vampires, werewolves and humans living together and making friendships.

I liked the writing of this book, it was nice and easy to read.

It was a nice change of scenery for the FMC to be the grumpy one, you don't see that offten in books.

Overall I liked the story and I saw the potential, but I have to say there was something missing for me, it did get a little boring a few times.

I think it was unfortunate I hadn’t read the first book. I didn’t know who all these characters were once introduced to them. I feel like for me the story dragged out. It had good bones but was missing a little for me.

Loved the cute, small town vibes of this book.
Plenty of *awwwww* moments reading Marcus' POV.
Strong side characters, which I enjoy as it creates a world to disappear into.

Enjoyed FMC being the grumpy one! Can relate, and is not something I find often enough while reading.

* I received this book as an arc in exchange for my honest review.
