Third Time's the Charm
I thought I knew my fair share about love. I’d read about it in books, watched it bloom with my own two eyes, and even written novels around it. So I would’ve thought finding a love of my own would be a piece of cake. But after years of trial and error searching for the elusive “one,” I realized I’d already had that.

Advanced Reader Copy Review
This book was cute. I mostly rate on vibes and the vibes were good. This is the second book in the WItches of Bellevue series, but it's an interconnected standalone. You don't technically have to read book one, but there's quite a bit of character cross-over and location cross-over and relevant story details, so I think it will add more context if you do read book one first. Full disclosure, I did prefer book two to book one.
This book had just a dash of witchy-ness, a good bit of spice, some yearning, and lifelong friends turned more getting their third chance at a happy ending. It felt a bit like a Hallmark Movie, but rated NC-17 :) So if that's your thing, check it out!!

Adam and Maddie have been soulmates since they were kids but his big shot musician life and her secrets tore them apart 8 years ago. Now he’s a rockstar and she’s a popular romance author and they haven’t seen each other in years. When his mom gets sick and he rushes back to their hometown his mom isn’t the only one he’s coming back to.
I liked Adam and Maddie, the hopeless in love second chance thing is totally my jam so Adam was a dream. The spice was good and the characters were awesome but the plot left a little to be desired. I didn’t really understand the point of the magic aspect. It didn’t really play a role and literally was only present so there was some tension since he knew she was hiding things. It just didn’t make sense to me, maybe if I’d read the first book in the series first? That one seems like the magic played a more prominent role but who knows. There seemed to be a lot of things that were super important at one point in the story that don’t matter at all and never come up again a couple chapters later, just a little disorienting but not the end of the world. I’m def checking out the other books in the series and you should too!

The second book in the Witches of Bellevue series was such a good, cozy read! Third Time’s the Charm had all the small-town magic I loved in book one, but with a little more emotion, yearning, and tension.
Set again in Louisiana, this story follows Maddie (witch and author) and Adam (now rockstar 👀), who grew up together and were each other’s first everything, until heartbreak set in. Now he’s back in town, and it’s very clear he never moved on, but Maddie isn’t so quick to let him back in.
Their history is messy, and you feel it right away. There’s hurt, there’s longing, and there's a lot left unsaid between them. Adam is fully in his “I will do anything to win her back” era, and honestly, I was here for it!
Jessica continues to build out Bellevue in a way that makes it feel so lived-in and lovable, and I’m attached to everyone in it haha.

Third Time’s the Charm is the second book in the Witches of Bellevue series, but absolutely can be read as a stand alone. Madison is the middle sister and this is her story where she is the light in the darkness. Adam is the one, has always been the one since she was 6 years old. Two failed attempts at a relationship and both of them hurting each other the second time. Madison is the one who is guarded and tries to avoid Adam at all cost. She doesn’t want to be hurt, but also knows she hurt him because she can’t be completely honest with him. Adam is the rockstar who comes back home to take care of his mom, but also to get back his girl. He is relentless and knows that he will do anything to have her be back in his life in any way she will let him.
The only problem I have with this book is that I can’t decide which I like most, the banter with all the characters or of his unwavering pursuit of her.

The banter in this book, especially between the three sisters is charming. I laughed out loud in several spots. The sisters have a special talent. I can’t explain it in this short blurb, but OMG, the love in this book between all of the characters. It’s just beautiful. It just grew stronger and stronger, knowing no bounds, especially between the two main characters. Several years ago, there were many reasons why they parted. They eventually came back into each other’s lives and the story goes from there. This book was well written and a joy to read. It was a little bit spice, but not much. There were some very sweet surprises in this story. Some areas on the novels made me cry happy tears and a few sad tears in other spots. The characters were well developed. The story was easy to read, read fast and easy to digest. Fantastic ending. Loved this book so much. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

I felt a special kind of connection with this book as I had a similar experience with my now husband of an on-and-off again kind of love starting in our childhood! This book reached and healed a special part of my soul truly making my kind of love feel seen! I identified so much with the main characters and their development throughout the story!
It was beautifully written with so much fun family meddling that is always worth reading! If you love second/third chance small town romance with a touch of practical magic style family vibes - then this series is one that will tickle your fancy for sure! It takes a little while for them to steam up, but once they do - they are like a freight train together 🔥 🔥 I cannot wait to continue this series! They feel like family at this point!

I loved everything about this book, the tropes: friends to lovers, second-chance romance, small town vibes, girl next door, the setting: Louisiana, bayou, cabin vibes, and I loved the characters: witchy sisters, witty bandmates, a wise witchy aunt, and a loving boy mama. “Third Times a Charm is definitely a 5 ⭐️ for me!!!

This book is like one of those stories that quietly grows on you rather than instantly overwhelming you. I really appreciated the emotional sincerity because it didn’t feel forced or overly dramatic, just real in a way that made the characters’ struggles and growth believable. There were moments where I wanted a bit more depth or intensity, especially when it came to certain emotional turning points. Overall, it’s a warm, reflective read that leans more on heart than plot, and while it didn’t completely wow me, it definitely left a soft, lasting impression.

This was my first book by this author. I didn’t read the first book in the series; but I don’t feel like I’m missing too much. They were childhood sweethearts and first for pretty much everything. After years of being apart they are brought together. Obviously the MMC, Adam, still has a thing for Maddie. I loved the banter between pretty much all of the characters. The sisters especially. Even though I didn’t read the first book, it makes you want to pick it up as well.

Wow this book is magnificent. I was lucky enough to read an ARC of Third Times the Charm. It is extraordinarily charming in deed. Maddie and Adam are the cutest couple. Loved getting to learn their story and falling in love with them. So many obstacles to overcome but well worth it in the end. The spice is perfection to go along with such a fabulously written story. I can’t wait for the next one!

Ugh I love a good second chance when they are childhood sweethearts! Adam and Maddie’s journey back to each other was full of ups and downs (without a 3rd act breakup) and it made their story so fun! I also love books where the FMC is a reader or an author because the are always so relatable in how the look at romance and compare real life to the books that mean so much to them!

Maddie is an author who keeps her life as private as possible to avoid her family's secret getting out and Adam is the frontman of a very popular band. They fell in love as kids and couldn't make things work but neither ever fell out of love with each other. This was such a cute right person wrong time is it the right time now story. I'm loving this series.

That's usually a trope I don't enjoy but Jessica Hoffa knocked it out of the park! The chemistry between Maddie and Adam was intense which lead to a lot of tension filled scenes. Adam was a such a great MMC. Loved him so much. And Maddie was so valid about trying to protect her heart from heartbreak.
My favorite thing was that Maddie was a romance author and she read one of her spicy scenes to Adam! What a hot scene.
Absolutely can't wait for the next book that will follow Maddie's sister Meredith. Highly recommend Third Time's the Charm!
