Deathless Death; Amartya's Story

Rate this book
When Amartya spurns Orpheus’s proposal, she finds herself the victim of a curse forged by a malevolent necromancer, and a single bite from Merlin, a divine-touched mouse, condemns her to an existence between life and death.
Yet instead of making her a victim, undeath turns her into something more.
Using her newfound strength and longevity, she turns her curse into justice, hunting true monsters; killers, abusers, and the wicked who wear humanity’s mask, across centuries and continents, with Merlin at her side.
She is the monster even monsters fear: undead, forever in a deathless death.

Amartya has the audacity to reject a man’s courtship. Scorned, he enlists a necromancer to condemn her to an eternity of undead existence, forced to survive by consuming human flesh.

Amartya is not the zombie that the movies would have you believe. She walks amongst us, unnoticed but ever watching and listening. If she must eat she will harvest her bounty from those who have abused and violated. This undead vigilante means business.

Sparrow’s poetic backdrop resonates with her use of short sentences to construct the ‘telling’ aspects of the narrative. This has the dynamic effect of driving tension so when you hit the ‘showing’ depictions you are gripped by the neck and forced to watch them unfold. You might squirm but there is no escape. The viscera is plentiful and requires a strong constitution - you have been warned!

The beauty of the eternally undead is the opportunity for more. Amartya has only just started…

Pure feminine rage meets the zombie lore! A gross and gory, funny tale of one beautiful woman magically turning into a deathless cannibal, and going on the rampage against pedos, serial killers, and r*pists. So satisfying! Sick and messed up entertainment for veteran extreme horror readers! Short and sweet, the first part of what may very well be an ongoing series!

Deathless Death by Lolly Sparrow.

Amartya is taking it upon herself to take revenge on the scum who hurt and tortured their victims.
One by one they go and they don’t see it coming. Awaiting for their demise.
Amartya isn’t just any simple human, well she was, she got turned into a zombie but you wouldn’t think that though. She looked very human like, very deceiving actually.
No human went to waste of course. She had to feast along the way!

'Deathless Death' by Lolly Sparrow
REVAMPED
Release Date - March 2, 2026

As a survivor of DV that left me with PTSD and a sometimes cynical outlook on life, I love a good feminine-rage/revenge story.
While the plot of this is dark and gore-soaked, Sparrow does an excellent job of making it feel dreamy and ethereal right out of the gate. We get the first few pages that are full of descriptions that make the characters dance off of the pages and come to life, and I let my guard down. I kept going, and a fog lifted. I remembered where I was, that monsters are human, and what Lolly Sparrow was capable of putting us as the reader through.

There are so many different and interesting elements that come together, and while the pace is fast, I didn't feel lost of confused at any point which made this easy to digest! (Easier than most things Amartya consumes 😉)

I’m sat here reeling after just finishing this 68 page novella in one sitting… If you like horror, gore, undead zombie-like tendencies, powerful women, vengeance, justice…all of the above? You ARE in for a treat!

I knew I needed something stronger than a cuppa tea for this one, so today’s drink of choice was a strong coffee!

Lolly writes cleverly through decades in time as Amartya’s existence between life and death gifts her the ability and strength to bring violent, horrific and terrifying justice upon some really depraved, disgusting individuals. I love how the language develops with each chapter as she enacts revenge in different eras from 1912 to 2019.

This is only the 3rd novella I have read in this type of genre – usually I would not go out of my way to pick horror, gore, splatterpunk themes. However, this reader is glad she did.

Lolly, I loved it! I give you 5 stars and I cannot wait to pick up another story of yours. I already have my eye on January!

ARC REVIEW OFVA REPUBLISHED NOVELLA.
Thank you Lolly for the ARC!!
This book was soooo well written! Lolly combines visceral imagery with educated prose. The FMC is a woman cursed all because she said no to a man.
The kills are imaginative and artistically beautiful yet hideous. I really hope there is a sequel!!
if yoU love female revenge and the evil being punished then don't hesitate to read this!

If you’re in the mood for a twisted revenge horror story, Lolly has cooked up a tasty dish for you!

Deathless Death:Amartya’s Story is a feast of macabre visuals spinning through my head as I read it.

Orpheus is madly, and one-sidedly, in love with Amartya. When she spurns his adoration, he curses her to living death. She finds herself with newfound powers, and instead of using them for vile purposes, she decides to exact her revenge on the evil-doers of the land.

Lolly takes the zombie trope, and injects it with her own magical touch. It’s bursting at the seams with violence and gore aplenty. Are you hungry for more? Grab a copy today!

This is female rage without apology. No softness. Just calculated revenge.
She doesn’t run. She hunts.
The plot is brutal but intelligent, layered with tension. Ya girl Amartya is more than vengeance she's reclamation.
If you like your stories dark, controlled, and merciless this one bleeds beautifully.

Splatter, female rage, all the gore, and a mesmerising FMC who happens to be a zombie.
This is Amartya’s story.
A woman condemned to eternity after denying a necromancer’s proposal. You’d think that would stop her, but instead she takes control and spends her life getting revenge on those who truly deserve it — the real monsters — feasting upon their bodies along the way.

Deathless Death gives us a creature feature with a twist. It’s well written and creative, and even with some very graphic scenes, it’s an absolute delight to read.
We all know that female rage can be so satisfying, and this book hits all the marks while leaving you wanting more.

Now I think it’s time for me to catch up with Lolly’s work, because this one was an instant five star read for me!

Arc Review - Deathless Death from Captain Lolly Storm Sparrow 🖤🩷

I really enjoyed this one from Lolly! I loved the progressive timeline and the progressive splatter too!

Here’s what I thought!

Amartya is akin to the forbidden fruit for Orpheus. His unrequited love. Much to his displeasure Amartyra has her own plans. Orpheus’ love transforms into a hateful wanting. But Amartyra will have the final say.
Captain Lolly delivers a gothic piece combining fantasy with splatterpunk. The splattery goodness seemed to ramp up as the story and timeline progressed. This is a short novella and well worth a read! I especially loved the ‘human donut’ 🍩

Loved this novel. The original was already great but by spacing the deaths out over the centuries it adds a new touch that works better. And the violence is off the hook
