Being selected for the most prestigious tattoo reality show of the year is Hale’s dream come true.
Money.
Fame.
Career-making glory.
The only catch?
Aksel is competing too.
Aksel is a rival artist, a walking ego, and the last person Hale would ever choose to spend twelve hours a day under studio lights. The tension is instant.
The glares are sharp.
The chemistry is… deeply inconvenient.
A COZY, COMEDIC MM OMEGAVERSE FULL OF INK, CHAOS, AND UNEXPECTED TENDERNESS.
I have known this lovely author for a couple years and when she said “Hey… wanna ARC read this book for me?” I quickly replied with “Don’t ask me a silly question like that, send it right now!”
Ugh. I truly loved this book so much and obviously my favorite character is Askel, love that guy so much and Eric comes in second and (HE BETTER HAVE HIS OWN BOOK, MADAM AUTHOR LADY!)
This book was such a good read and a quick read as well and obviously it is an omegaverse which hello, let’s get some more of these out there!
Truly a 5/5 star, loved it, cherished it, I’m going to re-read it again soon.

Loved this MM Omegaverse. Askel and Hale have a chemistry that routes deep down. Even though Hale fights every aspect of Askel in the beginning of the book, he slowly starts to melt and stops fighting his hatred. Also, you can’t forget about Eric. His energy is light and airy and definitely deserves his own book. ;) Thank you Rory, for letting me ARC read this. Congratulations on your publication!
Tentacles, snarky MMC, and angst what more could you ask for? This book will have you kicking your feet and giggling all while swooning over their love. I fell in love with the characters and the colorful world Rory Steele created. Full of longing, witty banter and shifters. Hale and Aksel now live in my head rent free! Not to mention a certain bestie I’m hoping will get his own book! If you’re new to omegaverse this is the perfect first step into the genre!
I enjoyed the first 100 pages. Eric was such a delight and a great character, and the plot had its funny moments, but I couldn't ignore the feeling that there has been a lot of AI used in the writing.
The text formating is weird to me and I haven't seen anything similar before. Why do we need so much empty space and a whole empty line after a 4 word sentence?
Saying "I couldn't contain my omega" was also something that ircked me as it was mentioned like 10 times. Not sure if it has something to do with the secondary races or something, but still.
The last thing that made me give up with the book was that even within a singular chapter, the plot wasn't consistent. First there were 4 final contestants and then before the families come in, an extra 5th contestant appears out of nowhere and it is not mentioned any further.

As a tattoo artist, there was research, but not enough. As a reader of this genre, there was charm, but a fair amount of abrasive. 3.5 for the indi artist, whatever formatting was used to get this ready for kindle did this author dirty.
I think this author will be really wonderful to read after a bit more seasoning.
I truly enjoyed Siren Ink. The yearning and emotional connection between the characters felt incredibly authentic and drew me in from the start. While the tattoo competition was a highlight, I would have loved to see even more depth regarding the event and the other competitors to fully flesh out that world. I’m honored to have received an ARC of this book!
Okay so I really do like how this story just started with creatures and in an omegaverse. There wasn’t an intro on how things are sorted and why and how the reveal happened. That made it refreshing and made it easier to read because you didn’t have to remember historical plot points. It did take away from learning how they found their creatures/ designation. But the story felt rushed even though it seemed like it was happening over a longer period. There were multiple events that had a big lead up an then the next chapter we learned about it in past tense and that was frustrating because we’re right there with it, why would you wanna skip it just to talk about it later? As a memory ? I think this style of dual POV was very unique, Hale controlled the book but we got sneaks at Aksel’s thoughts with the on going interview chapters and I’m glad we do get Aksel’s POV at the epilogue which did fill in some holes but did he ever tell Hale this stuff?? Learning how obsessed he truly was with Hale makes me feel that I missed out on some good stalking that would’ve really helped shaped the character more, I also NEED to know if Aksel stayed a virgin or not since he decided his chosen in 4th grade. And, the grandkids; how many kids did they have? Just four? If so, what creatures were they? And are the grandkids? The comedy part truly only comes from Eric’s commentary. So it felt a little forced to me. Some details, for me, were missing and felt like they really really should’ve been there. Like I thought Sirens and Merpeople were very similar? It never specified if they were or not. At the end when both characters shift, is Hale’s tail like a mermaids? Or vertical like a sharks? Overall, the idea of it is fantastic; a competitive event bringing enemies to lovers with a drunken Vegas wedding and forced proximity within an omegaverse.

This was so sweet!! It was definitely romantic and funny but I love that it still had a lot of depth. Hale's issues were tough and his life wasn't easy and I loved how that wasn't glossed over for the sake of being a light-hearted book. Eric was such a great character! He was hilarious but always supportive and the fact that even after Hale and Aksel got together he was still a form of comfort and protection for him was great. So many stories I've read, especially omegaverse, the friends fall to the way side for the "all encompassing pheromones and bond" of the mate. Eric had a lot of great moments and I think I would have read an entire book about him. The epilogue was so sweet and I'm so glad we got to see a glimpse into Aksel's mind. It felt like the icing on the cake for this story.
The story itself was pretty simplistic, not too many details of the tattoo competition and more focused on the relationship which I was loving honestly. There were great moments of connection between the MCs that weren't sex focused which is always a win for me! The sex was great and not overwhelming. I do think there could have been a little more detail on thier shifter-ness because we really only get 1 scene where it's even relevant but the omegaverse aspects were front and center which was fun. Contact-heat was something I don't read a lot about so that was fun. Any complaints I have are so tiny, I just really enojyed reading this. It was so cute and refreshing without being cavity-inducing or boring.
1st person POV Dual MM Omega verse Plot 4/5 Spice 1.5/5
I fell in love with these characters from the beginning! Askel and Hale have a one sided enemies to Lovers thing going on! Askel is over the moon in love from the first time he saw Hale in grade school and Hale is a traumatized boy who has so many walls up he can't see the things that Askel did were there to protect not hurt.
It's also been a while since I read a book where the side characters almost completely outshines the MCs but Eric is definitely a star in this show! He is chaotic goodness wrapped in a flirty package and I can't wait to see more of him!!
I've had the honor of knowing this author for a couple of years and I have loved every moment of it. When she asked for ARC readers I had to read her masterpiece.
This story was so heartfelt and wonderful. The characters are relatable and they are all amazing. While I demand Eric gets his book, I kept cracking up with Hale. This is not your typical book and I'm very thankful that it is different. It's refreshing and had all the great aspects of other books I love.
I was going to read a few pages to check out the vibe. But that somehow translated into me staying up till 2am to finish the book. This was great - short, sweet, funny, self deprecating. The slick was a bit much for me as it was constantly mentioned, even when "damp hands" was available. Other than that, no notes.
Siren x Kraken Omega x Alpha Both are tatoo artists Reality TV competition Crazy best friend
Just finished this book and I’m already missing the characters. This book had me cackling, and feeling all the things. Eric? Officially my new bestie. Everyone needs an Eric in their life. This was my first omegaverse and it won’t be my last especially if this lovely author continues to write more. Thank you for the laughs, and for this magical book!
