When Angels Bleed Silver chooses the second question, and in doing so, becomes something rarer than fantasy—it becomes a quiet meditation on survival.
Odessa awakens with little certainty except her own heartbeat, discovering that memory is not the only thing capable of disappearing. Identity can fracture. Trust can erode. Hope itself can become unfamiliar. Yet the novel gently argues that healing is not hidden inside forgotten memories waiting to be unlocked. This book was a delicious marriage between dystopian and fantasy. With training scenes that had Fourth Wing meets Divergent vibes, creatures inspired by D&D lore, a magic system with so many mysteries, and political intrigue that had me questioning who the good guys were, this author created a unique world that leapt off the page.
There were so many elements to this story that made the world new and exciting. The magic system that has yet to be fully revealed gave us characters with fearsome abilities. The dystopian aspect left me so curious about what led to the state of the world. The diverse characters each had their own relatable traits that made me both adore them and want to throw my book across the room.
A.E. Amaris introduces us to characters that nestle into your heart and then destroy it as the story unfolds. My favorite character, Kieran was a slow burn--his initial indifference that slowly turned to brotherly warmth and fierce protectiveness left me wishing he was on every page. Rune enters the story as a formidable enemy, but when secrets are revealed, I had no idea who to fear. Inkie is one character I cannot wait to read more of. I really hope we get to see more of her magic and back story! My heart broke for Odessa, our main character, each time she learned more about the world she awoke to in that hospital room. I cannot wait to see what her story will bring and how her character will grow! The author does an incredible job leaving reminders of love lost, love found, and love that should never have been. Each turn of the page had me wondering what would wrench my heart out this time.
And, while some may say he's the true villain, I'm obsessed with Kythus. I ate up his part in the story like delicious chocolate devil's food cake. His anger, his frustration, his completely unhinged methods brought a darkness to the story that stuck with me long after I finished reading.
The world of Angels vs. Demons takes on a unique interpretation as we have two factions pitted against each other while the world bleeds. And, the more we learn, the more we wonder who the actual bad guys are. I loved the conflict between these two groups, how the author brought our MC into the fray, and how the truth only revealed more questions.
The beginning of the book was a slow build to the ultimate conflict, but I blasted through the last third of the book without putting it down. While a few conversations between the characters felt like they'd reached their resolutions too soon, the author ultimately has created a story that readers will love. I still have so many questions that I'm sure the author will reveal in the sequels, and I cannot wait to have answers.

So I want to start off by noting that although this is a dystopian book it is very fantasy coded in how the writer structures the world surrounding you. From the descriptions to the creatures, the book is set in a beautiful otherworldly place ruined in turmoil and chaos. Amaris does an impeccable job at formulating such an intensely vivid and complex world with wholesome characters that are real enough to touch. This book was intense and witty with amazing banter, loving relationships, and a plot that was thickly planted in lore that was easy to absorb. The world building, although detailed, was not chunked together but spooned to you sporadically allowing you to process information fully but without unloading it onto you. The representation of strength, determination, and pure friendship love that’s displayed in this story is moving and so well written you are experiencing everything deeply and profoundly right along side the main character. This is an amazing book that cannot recommend enough. The fact that it is a debut is mind baffling to me, as the writing is something I’d expect from a very seasoned author. Thank you so much for the deepest honor of being able to read this story as an ARC! I cannot wait for the sequel! Pins and needles waiting!

This book made me feel ALLLLL the feels!!
From the very beginning, author A.E Amaris did an incredible job of luring me into the story. She painted such vivid descriptions of the world, as well as created so much depth to each one of her characters. Reading each page made it feel like I was actually there in the world that she was building! Amaris is also incredible at showing the emotional depth of her characters. I felt every single ounce of emotion that Odessa felt, which helped me connect to her on so many levels.
I loved the sense of found family that she created with her characters as well. It made me invested in wanting to know more about how all of them were going to work together to traverse the state of the world that they were in.
I loved ALL of the plot twists! Just when I thought I could take a break, nope, something unexpected would happen! Like Rune!!
I cant't wait to see what else unfolds in the next book, and what the fate of all of her amazing characters will be. I'll be waiting anxiously until Book 2 releases, because the way you left us with that ending makes me have ALLLLL the questions!!!

Eerie, intense, and layered with mystery—When Angels Bleed Silver had me completely hooked from the start. There’s a constant sense that something isn’t quite right, like danger is always just beneath the surface, and it creates this haunting atmosphere that never really lets you relax. The plot pulls you in fast, but what makes it unforgettable is how it keeps tightening its grip. Every reveal adds another layer, every twist makes you question what you thought you understood. I found myself both thrilled and uneasy, desperate to figure out what was really happening. It’s dark, immersive, and just unsettling enough to linger in your mind long after you’ve finished. If you love dystopian fantasy with a haunting edge and a story that keeps you guessing, this one absolutely delivers.

What I absolutely love about this story is the mystery behind the Angels and Demons. The constant twists and turns. When you think the story is going one way, it goes another. Odessa is the main character and she’s feisty and strong. She does go through A LOT of trauma, so be sure to read the trigger warnings before reading. It can get dark, but that’s what I love. Odessa was hurt or injured throughout most of the story, which is fine, but I wish there were times when she wasn’t having to rest from her injuries. Rune is a character that was constantly in my head. I need to know more about him, his past, his character. The way he talks to Odessa is so eerily beautiful. I don’t know how else to describe it. I can’t wait to read book 2! I need more Odessa and Rune!

This book will have you reeling from the start. Odessa is a strong-willed FMC that bites back. This is her story of trying to remember anything after waking in a med hall. There are angels and devils, and everything is post-apocalyptic. You meet such a great cast of characters and don't know who to trust. The people you think will help don't and the one that do have to atone for their actions. The world building is great, and you can see this happening. The ending will make your jaw drop just from a question. Can't wait for more.

I wasn't so sure i was going to actually like tgis book but boy am I glad I was wrong. It turned out to be a good book. I like Odessa Rhyl and Aideens characters Rune still has some groveling to do..

If hunger games met dungeons and dragons with so much more trauma! Such a fast paced read that keeps you engrossed the entire time! 10/10!
