Uptight single dad. Corporate grumpy pants. Lincoln Raines checks every box on my do-not-touch list. Me? Fall for him? Never in a million years! …Pity I just agreed to be his wife, though.
It’s no secret Lincoln Raines doesn’t like me. He says I’m impulsive, obnoxious, too spontaneous. Good thing I don’t need his approval. I’m no stranger to rejection. I’m the outcast of my family, after all.
That smokin’ hot kiss we shared in the kitchen pantry was a mistake. What we did next caused a category-five disaster.
Now my life is on fire. And Lincoln claims to have the solution that will put out the flames.
A marriage of convenience.
Saying ‘I do’ to a man I can’t stand? Sign me up…I guess. How bad can it be?
Especially once we set out our rules in black and white. It’s all temporary. All for show. All for convenience.
I’ll get to claim the family inheritance that’s rightfully mine. He’ll be able to save his business from the brink of collapse. Our marriage is nothing but a business deal.
Fine by me. I wouldn’t want Lincoln if he were the last man alive. That rare smile that lights up the room? I can see past it. Those piercing blue eyes that show up in my dreams? They don’t affect me. Those biceps that bulge beneath his button-down shirts? I certainly don’t need them wrapped around my body.
But it melts my heart, the way he always sets out an extra dinner plate for me. The way he says my name like it means something special. The way he reaches for me in the middle of the night. He’s the first man who doesn’t look at me like I’m damaged goods.
I never planned on falling for my fake husband. Yet here I am, head over heels. And there’s nothing convenient about that.
Something Convenient is a steamy, hilarious small town marriage of convenience romance. It is book two in the Raines Family Series.

I’m not sure what this book is. The characters are all over the place, there is no chemistry between Jules and Lincoln, and some worked side plots. Why would you get married to appease business men who have no morals? If this is who they are before you’re in business together, this is who they’ll be when you’re in business together. Lincoln, think better of yourself and your business. Also, what is up with his ex wife? She gave so much of herself to parenting that she has to give full custody over to Lincoln? What was she doing as a parent???
Then you have the whole side cast of characters in Jules’ family. If you’re going to subject yourself to family dinners and interactions, at least have a backbone and stand up for yourself. They walk over you because you let them. I called that the half sister stole the marriage contract as soon as she “found” Jules’ purse. I hate that about convenient marriage tropes. You have the author write the characters make a contract purely so it can be found later as a 3rd act conflict. Like, why are you carrying it around in your purse???
When I saw this was 400+ pages, I thought…why???? I would skip this book whole heartedly.
I’d say this was an interesting read for me. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters were great. I did find it a bit difficult to identify with Jules. Don’t get me wrong, she was awesome. Strong, smart and funny. But we just didn’t click. I also didn’t feel the chemistry between her and Lincoln. But there were so many great moments. Like when Jules took the business partners’ wives for the night. And her dinner with Lincoln’s ex-wife. It was a fun and sometimes mature read.
I’ve got to hand it to Cassie-Ann L. Miller… her books are consistently so good!
I really loved Jules and Lincoln together. They are such opposites, but also so similar in how they initially fly off the handle so easily. Still the Love Fairy managed to love bomb them big time!
Thoroughly enjoyable read. The ending was a little understated, but these two and Cameron are the perfect trio!
This story is a breath of fresh air with everything happening in the world. Jules and Lincoln's story is a series of sweet moments, LOL moments , drama and spiciness. Lincoln has finally met his match and she will give him a run for his money and then some. Their marriage of convenience will blow up in their faces as it might be real.....Cassie-Ann L. Miller has done it again! A guaranteed good time and these opposite attract characters are the captivating!
I think what i most enjoyed about this story was the way both Jules and Lincoln are once they come to an agreement! I love Jules’s sass, she’s definitely someone I’d want as a friend! Lincoln being the grumpy single dad, who’s caring side made me swoon! I especially liked the way Lincoln redeems himself especially after the way he treated Jules initially! Needless to say entering into a fake marriage could be potential for a disaster or will they realize what they both truly want! I adored Lincolns son, what an adorable kid! I really enjoyed this book! It has great banter, sizzling chemistry and weird family issues! Plus some great friends for support! All in all a wonderful read that made me tear up but also laugh!
In Something Convenient, Cassie-Ann L. Miller delivers a marriage-of-convenience romance where grumpy Lincoln and fiery Jules collide at every turn. Their sharp banter, sizzling chemistry, and playful sarcasm keep the tension alive. Shared routines, protective instincts, and family interactions slowly transform the practical deal into a heartfelt connection, blending humor, emotional warmth, and steamy moments into a truly satisfying romance.
… especially if you love Enemies to Lovers. I fell in love with snarky Jules when we were introduced to her in Alba and Easton’s story. I wasn’t too sure about Lincoln, but I knew he was always there for his brothers and son. The banter between these two is perfection, and their chemistry is off the charts. The grandmother needs her own novella! Can’t wait for the next brother!
Something convenient - leading to inconvenient feelings.
Divorcee Lincoln is desperate to ensure that he and his son, Cameron, have enough funds. Jules was happily thinking that with her 27th birthday coming up that she would receive a nest egg from her great grandmother, only to be told, at a dinner party, that would only happen when she was married. Lincoln was told by the sports management team he wanted to join, that he would only be eligible if he was married.
4.5 ⭐️’s What a LOL, delightfully steamy, enemies to lovers romance that is filled with wit, sarcasm, dysfunctional family members and a fake marriage that suddenly starts feeling like the real thing. And when said fake marriage is outed will Lincoln be able to convince Jules that they have that love they’ve always wanted? Grab this all of the feels journey and enjoy!! ❤️❤️❤️
It was refreshing to read Lincoln and Julissa's story Jules is so sassy and gives Lincoln a run for his money and Lincoln being so uptight it was like mixing oil & water @ first. This book has a little of everything A marriage of convenience, 2 people trying to get ahead, it's steamy and it has an HEA ending.
Jules and Lincoln's story was a charming blend of humor, heart, sweetness, spice, emotion, tension, snark and drama that I found delightful. I thought both characters were wonderful and that their banter and chemistry was superb. I loved it.
Just finished Something Convenient and it was adorable, funny, and unexpectedly steamy. The chemistry snaps, the banter is perfect, and the “convenient” arrangement turns into the cutest chaos. A fast, fun, feel-good romance. 💕📚
Ohmygosh! I’ve been binging on a Cassie-Ann addiction since January, discovering the Westbrooks and the Brightons and now the Raines family. I have a couple of faves among all these gorgeous hotties, but now? Nope. THIS one is my new top fave! I laughed out loud at all the fun and nearly cried at the broken places and full-body shivers at the steamy scenes. Well-f’in’-done, Cassie-Ann!!!!
