For fans of Marianne Cronin and Clare Pooley, a warm, witty, page-turning tale of belonging, identity, and girl drama at every age centered on three generations of suburban Chicago women.
Mona is living the dream . . . until, at thirty-eight, her busy stay-at-home-mom life is upended. Suddenly, her grandmother moves into assisted living, her charity work kicks her to the curb, her teenager, Grace, doesn’t need her anymore, and none of her friends are showing up for her.
Suddenly, Mona has no purpose—unless you count stress-eating. But she’s the only one struggling. Shy Grace—ignoring her mother’s dreams for her to join the “it kids” in drama club—is off finding her voice (and a new band) at Bubby’s retirement home and making friends. Even Bubby’s too busy fending off resident mean girls and finding romance to pay Mona much mind. Then, on top of it all, Mona’s twenty-year high school homecoming goes viral for all the wrong reasons, leaving her convinced she’s wasted her life. But when tragedy strikes, she is forced to face the The only person who can make you feel small is you—and sometimes you have to lose everything you thought defined you to find what truly matters.
Heartfelt, funny, and refreshingly honest, Drama Drama Drama is a celebration of second acts, self-worth, and learning to skip the drama and live your own life.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Gerilyn Bass Greenberg’s debut novel, Drama Drama Drama. I really loved this book. The characters felt so real, and I found myself completely invested in the lives of Mona, Grace, and Esther.
I especially loved the three generations of women and seeing how each of them was dealing with such different stages of life. There was so much I could relate to—the mother-daughter relationship, trying to let your kids grow up while still wanting to protect them, friendships that are complicated even after years, marriage, aging parents, and just trying to figure out who you are when life starts changing around you.
The book was funny and entertaining, but it also had a lot of heart. There were definitely moments that made me emotional.
What I liked most is that none of the relationships were perfect. People hurt each other, hold grudges, make mistakes, worry too much about what other people think, and then figure some things out along the way. It all felt very human.
I flew through this and was sad when it ended because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters. Such an impressive debut! I can’t wait to see what Gerilyn writes next.

I loved this debut novel by Geri Greenberg!! I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC and thoroughly enjoyed this quick and fun read that candidly handled tough and relevant issues to women of all generations. The characters felt real and were relatable. As an empty-nester after decades of being a stay-at-home mom, I have certainly grappled with the same feelings Mona did throughout the book. I enjoyed seeing how the issues were resolved and each woman found her place as the story progressed. I can’t wait for her next book!!

I received an advance copy of Drama Drama Drama and am so happy I did! Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. You can easily identify with one or all of the characters in the story; whether you are one of them or know one of them. Fun to see how the narrative and the characters develop throughout the book. Interesting read with a great message—my favorite type of book!

A wonderful read. From generation to generation. We all experience challenges as women no matter what age we are. But what Gerilyn Greenberg shows us all is how resilient we can be. I cannot wait for my adult daughters to read this book.
