Sadly dissatisfied
The story picks up with Van visiting a coastal city and learning about ship building and some new characters are introduced which led me to believe the story would develop quickly. This book is basically just filler material. I've been waiting for months and no action takes place. A couple of interesting ideas unfold but nothing of significance. I hope i dont lose interest because Van has so much potential to change the course of the world. Get back to the engineering, craftsmanship, and raging battles please.

Going to see the sea.
A good continuation in the series. Van goes to a seaport city see a new boat and copies it. Van visits the Capital and see the King, then returns home. A good mix of with the other characters, I do like how his elder brother is growing and maybe finding someone special.

Good volume
I like the introduction of a ship and new kingdom. The political process between two nations will be amazing if they can form an alliance. Fiesta sure sent a lot of people to scout other nations. Too bad Van's power wasn't mentioned at the meeting.
