Still Spinning
Toni and Steel. A love that most could say was never supposed to happen. On one end, Steel believed that he would never fall in love again, and then on the other, Toni believed that she’d already reached a point in life where there really wasn’t anymore good men out there. Coming into the relationship, they were both guarded, and full of fears. They were in their head about a lot of things, but somewhere along the way, the two of them decided to give love a spin, learn to take on second chances, and see what comes out of trusting again. Taking a chance on love, these two are now the picture-perfect family.
Toni easily took on the role of being a bonus mom to Steel’s son, Zayne, and they even have a beautiful baby girl of their own. Toni is raising her teenaged niece Brooklyn, and Steel took on the role in Brooklyn’s life, being that positive father figure that she needs.
The two are now engaged, and just days away from their wedding. With the biggest wedding coming up in Miami, there’s going to be a lot of good, and bad that comes with it. Toni finds herself allowing the comments, comparisons, and the outside noise from social media to get to her. A lot of women want her spot, and some women are going out of their way to make Toni feel like she’ll never live up to Steel’s late wife, Sapphire, and what she meant to Steel. The noise is creeping in, making Toni question her spot in Steel’s life.
Steel, on the other hand, has never been the type to care, or entertain the outside noise. He’s focused, locked in with his family, and the only thing that he cares about is marrying Toni.
This story takes you into the final days leading up to Toni and Steel saying, “I do”. In this beautiful love story, you’ll get to see the vulnerabilities, the tears, the doubts, along with the fun parts, as they prepare to get to the altar. Through it all, both are determined for nothing, or no one to stop them from walking down the aisle.

Girl it’s always you for me and your artistry in this pen game for real. The way you write these stories for our people, our experiences and the way it could be or is possible always takes cherry on top. Thank you for ever deciding to put your talent out for the word to have and sit in. Steel and Toni are the epitome of black successful love. They show proof that it is possible and it’s not fiction to me because there are couples just like them in this world that set such good examples on how love should be and definitely is. I’m so sad to see them go but loved seeing their happy ending to the end. I was really shedding some tears through the chapters and I’m like nahhh Author Diamond got me shedding drops out my eyes I gotta charge her for making me emotional lol 🤣. I always love how you present Florida and rep your place ! Always makes me feel like I’m there with these people or from there. Loved seeing the cameos of our other fav couple Alecia and Daddy Tana. Them all being just friends fit right in a puzzle. I definitely can’t wait to hear more on Brooklyn and Temperance my chest hurts for the sisters having to be apart but I know this was a lesson learned from temperance. Now you got me looking out for the time Brooklyn and Sergio pop out I know it’s about to be something. Lastly Love love love Steel and Toni’s parental personalities they are raising some well rounded kids together and always makes me gush when I read those scene’s. I hope you continue to get your flowers Author Diamond because your it 🙌.

It was nice to catch up with Toni and Steel, but this made Toni a lil unlikeable. Idk the level of judgement she had toward lifestyles that didn’t align with her was interesting while partially absolving her sister from her own personal choices was a bit meh. A lot of the situations introduced or revisited just left me wanting more from Toni as a person. Like I totally understand wanting more for your niece but if you raised her right which you did the you have to trust in your parenting especially cus they close AF Brook don’t keep no secrets so to keep harping on it to anyone wit ears was annoying. Wedding scenes were super cute and I love when the Kings make a cameo

Whewwww baby, where do I even begin?! Diamond sista, you wrote the hell out of this book! Whenever I’m reading a Diamond D. Johnson book, it never feels like fiction. These characters are experiencing real life issues and you really feel like you are sitting with them having conversations and doing life with them. That’s a testament to the talent that Diamond has as a storyteller! Sis, the pen game is lethal!
Now let’s get into it! I was tapped in since I read the Spin series last year, I lovedddd this couple. I am glad that both Steel and Toni got their fairytale ending! I was crying all through the wedding day scenes, it was so sweet! From the scene with Toni’s mom, to the letter Steel wrote, to vows, down to Zayne speaking. Baby, the tears were flowing! I also laughed my ass off throughout the book, Steel and Toni’s banter is so natural, funny, and cute. Brook and Zayne get they jokes off too nie 😂 speaking of those two, Steel and Toni have really fostered a healthy and loving environment for them and little Lani! I smiled showing all 32 reading the scenes with the kids.
Can we talk about the reception?!! As a true Miami gworl, I liveddddd, okay! I love me a good hood Miami party and that’s what that reception was. They were getting down, especially Steel with his mannish self, he love him some Toni and Toni love her some him. This was the perfect ending to their love story, even though I’m sad to see it end.
I’m excited for Brook and Sergio and hopefully seeing Temp get out and be back with her family! Diamond D. Johnson, BRAVA!!!

I really enjoyed reading Steel and Toni’s wedding edition story. I like how Steel loved Toni out loud especially when all the jealous bloggers/females was coming at her like they had a right to comment about their relationship when they were on the outside looking in. Steel played no games when it came to Toni. I like that Toni showed so much love, attention, and care to Zayne like she carried him in her womb. I like that Toni had real female friends that loved her and was happy with her success and happiness without being jealous. Baby Lani played no games when it came to Steel and wanted all of Steel’s attention when he was around and it was funny how she woke up crying and stopped immediately when Steel picked her up. I like the fact that this book had very little drama and that the book flowed beautifully. I like the fact that Brooklyn was the typical teen but she didn’t give her Aunt Toni nor Steel any real problems just typical attitude when she wanted her way. I know that she keeps saying that she’s leaving to go off to college and I can’t wait to see how her and Sergio will navigate that. Sergio may be a hustler in the streets but he stepped to Toni with manners offering to pay for Brooklyn’s meal when he saw them out to eat. I can’t wait for Sergio and Brooklyn’s book to drop and hopefully Temperance, Brooklyn’s mom, will get out early to make an appearance in their book.

Healthy Love Hits Different
Yesssss. I love me some Toni and Steel. This story flowed effortlessly and picked up right where the last one left off. There were so many subtle messages about love, loyalty, and how a man is supposed to treat his woman to maintain a healthy marriage.
The way Toni swerved ol’ girl but kept her composure until she talked to Steel was top tier. I also liked how social media was highlighted because it really can have you feeling a way. But when your man reassures you and keeps you grounded, you either humble yourself… or you get you a lawyer friend like Alecia. Baby, that cease and desist would’ve been sent immediately.
The build up to the wedding was everything, and getting to see Alecia and Montana again was definitely a bonus. Overall, this was a must read. Diamond did her thing and definitely didn’t disappoint.

I loved how Steel never switched up on Toni! It’s a shame when other women hate on a woman when she is being loved and treated properly. Great ending to a beautiful love story, even though it started off rough. To me that’s what makes it just that much relatable.

I'm so glad we were able to read about Toni and Zion still spinning. Everything in this read screamed LOVE and I loved that. While reading even though the book is fiction it felt so real and that's what I love about Diamond writing skills. It makes me feel apart of the story in real time. I love Zayne and how he shows his emotions and how he loves Toni. I hope we hear from Brooklyn again because I feel like she has a story to tell.
