He takes me to his stilted ocean village of striped, virgin cavemen who seem to think that I am there to destroy them.
Still, every glance from Crat’ax sparks heat I can’t ignore—his massive hands, the way his loincloth moves, how his purple stripes seem to light up when he looks at me. He makes me forget my worries, and that is both dangerous and addictive.
I fight the pull, insisting I’m no one’s gift and no one’s mate. I’m just a captive plotting my escape, and trying to get away from a chilling presence I sense at the edge of the village, but which nobody wants to talk about.
But as Crat’ax and I fight jungle beasts, defy suspicious tribesmen, and try to resist the fated bond we both feel, the line between captive and cherished blurs. I tell myself I’ll outwit him, outlast him, run when the time’s right… until the moment he finally touches me like I’m something sacred, chasing the old darkness out of my mind.
But I can't stay. Because that secret right outside the village is ancient, and angry, and has been watching me since the moment I arrived. And somehow it knows exactly who I am…

A fascinatingly different caveman story!
it’s a treat finding myself back on Xren again. The ocean tribe with its unique village doesn’t know what to think of the woman Crat’ax brought back. I am impressed with Callie and the projects she takes on, her ability to bring little improvements to the village. Crat’ax is obviously a very creative man, himself. Relationships, however, require an immense amount of work to get it right. I know you’ll love to follow along as they make that journey. Exciting, entertaining, and great reading!

I loved that we are introduced to another alien community on Xren. This one is literally on the ocean - a community built on stilts. However, it has the added bonus of a mysterious prisoner (hint: he loves gold) and a sweet and protective oceanic creature. Crat’ax is a community leader although without the title and Callie gives him a run for his money! I am so happy that there are more stories in this series - I can’t believe it is already book #28! I happily and voluntarily reviewed this book.

Another great book to read
I can't wait for the next one I love the seares so far how many girls are there left to match the cavemen to and how many tribes are there to pick from and will they all meet in one place at the end with there hunky cavemen.

Callie left the ship to get refreshed. Crat'ax thought he was saving Callie from the plood. She finds she doesn't mind too much being in the fishing village. However she needs to see Theadora to let her know she's ok. Stay go what to do? Enjoy

A very addictive series.
I absolutely love this entire series. Each new book is just as riveting as the first. Calista Skye never disappoints her readers. The characters all have so much depth they seem to be real.
