Being adopted --- no known past , no heritage, a life of always wondering why… Aspin Carmichael was adopted as an infant. She’d never really thought about it much. Her parents made sure she had a great childhood. She never considered going to look for her birth parents why would she, after all…they gave her up. If they came looking for her then so be it. She and her best friend had finally opened their dental practice and she was going to be just fine...well only if she could get the hot ass man with electrifying blue eyes that lives across the street off her damn mind and that’s not the worst part …he was a member of the Aryan Brotherhood! Even though she knows it’s wrong, she can’t help but fall in love with his broken spirit, gentle touch and bad boy attitude. If her cousin Yaz could love her man…She could certainly love this man.
“I will stand by my brother, My brother will come before all others, My life is forfeited should I fail my brother, I will honor my brother in peace and war.” Those words were supposed to be binding for Eytin Waite member of the Aryan brotherhood. He had seen it all and pretty much done it all. He was taught to make sure that they secure the existence of their white race and for the most part he had... that is until he crossed paths with a beautiful black woman that set his soul on fire and made him want for something he knew was against everything that he had ever been taught. The AB would kill both of them if they found out but with help from his boy AJ and a few others, he was willing to turn his back on the brotherhood all for the love of a black woman that truly believed love was colorblind.
Although this could be read as a stand alone, I strongly suggest you read Finding Sweetness first to get the background of Yaz and Alton and William who play strong supporting roles in this story.
This is Eytin and Aspin's story. Eytin is a prominent member of the Aryan Brotherhood, and all he knows and lives is white power. Any other race is inferior. A spin is the pretty, black dentist who catches his eye,and as much as he fights it, he wants this woman something terrible.
The story takes us on the journey of Eytin and Aspin fighting their attraction to one another while also resisting the AB as they are both forced to comply with the rules of the brotherhood in such a way that won't get them both killed.
There is a huge secret that is revealed in this story that could shake up the entire AB and that will affect the lives of Eytin and Aspin as well as Alton and Yaz. Please read book 1 first because if you don't, you will be lost.
This is a really interesting and compelling storyline. There are still some grammatical and syntax issues to contend with that really kept me from rating this book higher. I think the author is a great storyteller, and I'm sure with a good editor, she will knock it out the park. Even still, I do recommend this book. It's edge of your seat engrossing, and I look forward to the final installment when all the pieces of the puzzles are put together and the secrets revealed.
A lot has been said about the editing of this author's books. All I will say is she is a great story-teller and she says she is sorting this issue out. This has not spoiled my personal enjoyment of reading her stories!
You need to read book 1 to understand the premises for this story. AJ and Yaz's story comes first. Then Eytin and Aspin's story is in this book. I enjoyed their story and it links with AJ and Yaz's story. At the end you will learn an interesting twist about how both couples are actually linked together.
I cannot wait for Book 3! I am sure it is going to blow our minds when the author ties up all the lose ends for us.
At first I was pissed because I was like whoa no ma'am where is Alton and Yaz? And who is Eytin and Aspin?? But after reading her notes, I was like ummmm ok I'll bite. Well in my opinion this was another job well done. It has it editing flaws, but you can't deny a good story. And it was indeed a good story. I fell in love with Yaz and Alton story. So much so that I was stalking Amazon and Goodreads every month looking for the second book. I'm just praying that the third book will be all that I need it to be and more.
This storyline continues to get better. When I was reading the prologue I was wondering how E's path was going to cross with AJ. My first thought was oh no he's going to interfere with AJ getting out of the Brotherhood. Not so.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole William and Ann scenario. William letting E and Aspin go and what happen to the three he had take a walk with him outside the Brotherhood compound. I can already anticipate the drama to come in book three.
Pleasantly surprised. Finding love where you do not expect it. This is book 2 and Yaz and Alton are not the main characters but they are mentioned. This story will have you upset and wishing for happiness all at the same time. The heart wants what the heart wants and we see this first-hand in this book, the two main characters Aspin and Eytin will have you on an emotional rollercoaster.
This was an follow-up to the beginning of a three part series and you are going to wonder how it fits in ,well if you read this next installment you are going to get a few answers and be intrigued. This was a suspenseful as well as a little sexy so I say brace yourself.Once again the editing is poor but it doesn't take away too much from the story. This is shaping up to be a good series with a lot of twist and turns,so sit back and catch a ride.
