Cara Wells is focused on her career. As the owner of a publishing company, she doesn’t have time to focus on dating. And quite frankly, she’s tired. After so many failed dates, she’s giving it a break. That is until her friends convince her to try one last a speed dating event. It’ll definitely end like all the others, right
Vera Rojas works hard. She’s a construction worker, volunteer firefighter, and a big family woman. When she’s not working, she’s spending time with her large family. Her grandmother has been pressuring her to settle down so she attends a masquerade themed speed dating event, just to say she tried.
After one night of masked pleasure, the two never expected to see each other again. Especially in such close proximity.
Vera wants to pick up where they left off. Cara wants to pretend it never happened. Add in a misunderstanding, a wedding in Bali, and an agreement, and Vera is all kinds of complicated.
What will happen when these two are forced to spend time together. Will the be a match made in masquerade, or is one night all they will have?
4.5⭐️Having started with Fallon and Mackenzie’s and followed Cara and the rest through each book, it is both bittersweet and heartwarming to read the final book(and it was finally Cara’s turn!) Thank you to the author for the advance review copy for free! I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I adored Vera so much! While she was persistent, she was also just kind and supportive. Being different than Cara’s usual attraction choice put a damper on building a relationship but build a relationship they did lol. Everytime Cara would say Vera wasn’t her type and they wouldn’t work all the while drooling over her was such a contradiction and I was ready to jump in the story and shake her all around. I loved the epiphanies ;).
There were so many scenes with the previous characters and it was glorious! I loved the scenery and atmosphere of each location with the group.
Vera’s abuela stole the show! She was a hoot! She lit the pages every scene she was in :).
Recommend this and all the Sapphic in Seattle books!
I’ve been reading the Sapphic in Seattle series since the very beginning, so getting to see this little world come full circle was truly such a treat. Elee Rose gave these characters the perfect sendoff, while also leaving me excited for the spin-offs coming soon! But for now, let me just say that Vera completely stole my heart. I absolutely adored her character, and have daydreamed many times about her calling me “her princesa”. I especially loved the butch/femme dynamic between her and Cara. They were the perfect match (once Cara figured that out 🤣). I was seriously smiling through so much of the book! Having been lucky enough to read this as both a beta reader and an ARC reader, I can honestly say this story never lost its magic. It was the perfect ending to a series I’ve loved from the start!
I really enjoyed this read. Sweet love story Cara and Vera are perfect together. The characters are likable and interesting. Their friends are likable and are charters in previous books in the series. Thanks for a very good read.
