Kya Rayne is an authoress, illustrator, and poet. As far back as she can remember, she has been weaving words and worlds in her imagination. She penned and published her first poetry book, Ways of Words, at fourteen. ‘One Bird Singing’ is her second volume of poetry, and takes an even deeper, more exhilarating look at life than her first collection. Currently she has an epic world-traveling adventure novel in the works, plus ideas for other fantasy stories that she can’t wait to dive in to.
Also an artist, Rayne was delighted to collaborate with her dad (Lockman), by illustrating his children’s book, ‘little balloon’. She looks forward to taking her art farther in the near future with maps and sketches for her own projects.
Rayne wants to bring readers works of a high standard. Her vision is to have people—especially young adults—be able to pick up her books with an expectation of adventures that are filled with twists and turns, unsentimental truth, and life-like characters—as well as clean language and a ‘good over evil’ perspective. She believes in choosing every word with forethought—having the end goal of giving her readers truth that will stay with them long after the last page is turned.
