When Thomas Monroe's car breaks down on the side of the road, he's sure the day can't get any worse... until he receives a mysterious call warning him of impending doom. Seconds later, the United States is hit by what appears to be an electromagnetic pulse, knocking the power grid almost completely offline. Millions will die in the coming weeks, and Thom, like most of the country, is unprepared. Worst of all, his daughter, the only family he has left, is halfway across the state at college.
The world between them is a warzone.
Join Thom as he makes friends, outwits thugs, battles bandits, and struggles across the state to reunite with his daughter before they both succumb to the horrors of a post-apocalyptic world.

Can an everyday, broken man survive the apocalypse?

I love the humble nature of Thom, and the fact that instead of having a character start out with military background, preps, and end of the world knowledge you have a regular guy, with a regular job, totally unprepared for an EMP. I always enjoy a story line that comes from several different peoples perspective such as this. Makes it a lot more interesting!!

Okay, but some issues

Continuity issues abound. Character development of the protagonist could use some work. Grammar, punctuation, and spelling were marvelous though. The basis of a story is there, and I like the fact that Thom (the protagonist) is not a prepper. The fact it was free, also figures in. I will check out the next episode only if it is free. Continuing on after that, depends if I see any improvement in continuity and character development.

Great start

I can see this is b a great start to a great series. Thom is an ordinary man on a journey to get his daughter who is away at college. Is it an EMP or a CMP? Doesn't matter the affects on society will be the same. You can expect to see ttc hat in book two of the series.

Refreshing

While I enjoy prepped books, I really enjoyed this one. It is far more realistic of what most people are in ways of not being rich or prepared. I look forward to the rest of your series.

Breakdown review

Breakdown: Episode 1 is a good start to the post apocalyptic story written by author Jordon Quattlebaum. I still would rather buy the whole book instead of these serial episodes.

Good start

Short but good start. The lead character, Thom is likable and real, although his conversations sound a bit old or stilted at times. Still, a good start to the coming apocalypse. This is an EMP type. Thom has a daughter away at college and we hope they find each other.

Breakdown Episode 1

I love that this story is based on everyday average people, that the characters are being defined and developed before Hell breaks loose. I am looking forward to reading all of the books.

Good beginning

I like this tale so far, but it is way too short to qualify as a book. Nothing is more aggravating than getting interested and have it just stop. Try to finish what you started, and then write sequels.

Pretty good book.

It's a pretty good book. A bit short but it does say episode on the cover so it is to be expected. I will definitely continue reading this series.
