Love, Lies, Redemption

Rate this book
A dramatized memoir

“When love feels like a lifeline—but becomes your undoing.”
Amelia’s world is a whirlwind of passion, betrayal, and resilience. From toxic cycles with the man she can’t stop loving to the heartbreak of shattered trust, she fights to protect her children while searching for herself. Through devastating losses, impulsive choices, and a relentless battle between heart and mind, Amelia discovers that redemption isn’t found in someone else—it’s found within. Love, Lies, Redemption is a raw, unfiltered journey of survival, self-worth, and the power of choosing peace over chaos.*This is not a fairy tale. It’s the truth behind closed doors—the nights spent crying on the bathroom floor, the bruises you can’t see, and the silent war between hope and heartbreak.*

✨✨ ADVANCE READER REVIEW ✨✨

A story of true heartbreak and finding the strength to overcome. I was given an arc copy of this book by the author who happens to be a friend of mine and this story was so beautifully written. It was so raw and so real. I resignated so much with a lot of the things in this book from a past relationship which made this book so much more heartbreaking! I highly recommend this book. Ashley, I love you so much and you write an absolutely beautiful book.

Thanks Ashley for the ARC!

Love, Lies, Redemption was such an emotional read.

First of all, rating a memoir always feels a little strange to me because this is someone’s real life, real pain, and real healing. It doesn’t feel the same as rating fiction. But as a reading experience, this was really impactful for me, and I’d give it 4 stars.

What stood out most was how raw and honest it felt. There was no glossing things over, no trying to make painful experiences sound prettier than they were. It felt very open, very vulnerable, and I think that’s what made it hit so hard. You could really feel the emotional weight of loving someone who keeps hurting you, while also trying to hold yourself together for your children and figure out who you are underneath all the chaos.

I think this book will resonate with a lot of people, especially anyone who has ever been caught in toxic cycles, struggled to let go, or had to rebuild themselves after heartbreak. There’s a lot of pain in these pages, but there’s also strength, growth, and a real sense of survival.

It was a lovely read in the sense that it felt deeply personal and meaningful, even when it was difficult. More than anything, it felt honest. And that honesty is what made it memorable.

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ 4.5 Stars for Love Lies Redemption by Ashley Olmeda
As someone who spent ten years in a relationship with a diagnosed narcissist, this book hit me harder than I ever expected. Love Lies Redemption didn’t just tell a story—it reopened wounds, forced me to confront PTSD triggers, and reminded me of the emotional chaos that so many people silently survive every single day.
Amelia’s journey felt painfully real. The manipulation, the love bombing, the lies, the repeated cycles of hope and heartbreak, even the pregnancy aspects and emotional phrasing—it was all so authentic that at times I had to stop reading just to breathe through the memories it brought back. That level of realism is exactly why this book matters.
What made this story so impactful for me was the validation it offered. Survivors of narcissistic abuse often question themselves for going back, for believing promises, for falling for the tricks again and again. This book captures that cycle with honesty instead of judgment. It shows how trauma bonds work and how deeply emotional manipulation can affect someone’s sense of reality and self-worth.
This isn’t an easy read emotionally, but it’s an important one. For anyone who has lived through toxic love, emotional abuse, betrayal, or the exhausting push-and-pull of a narcissistic relationship, this book will likely resonate on a very personal level.
The reason it’s a 4.5 instead of a full 5 stars is simply because some moments felt so emotionally heavy that they were difficult to process—but honestly, that also speaks to how powerful the writing truly is.
A raw, painful, validating, and ultimately meaningful read.

The book is about a girl name Amelia she is a single mom of two and as she starts to fall in love with this man named Devon he makes her believe she is his world until she wasn’t she went through abuse with him he promised he would change and her believing he would she would move back to Arizona with him not once or twice but three times thinking he wanted her and he would change but while she went back the third time she heard the devastating news about her best friend not only that before she moved she just lost her grandpa, when I tell you this book had me so invested in reading this book needing to know what was going to happen it truly did its job it hurt my heart at times what she went through and relating to what she went through hurt me but this is a must read book about what life is actually like with an abusive narcissistic manipulative man and in the very relationship I was in .

✨ARC REVIEW✨

if you’ve read a love letter to whiskey and loved the toxic romance boy have i found a more toxic romance.

“it took two to tango and we are both at fault. I will never again allow myself to forget my worth and dim my light to appease another. My happy ever after may not be your typical love story ending. For me it is so much more. It is the best ending for a girl in love with a narcissist, its freedom.”

the fmc find the most broken men and thinks she can fix them. she’s been with abusers, narcissists, alcoholics, you name it. in the end is her happy ending. not theirs.

i loved reading her story. her trauma is like many of ours and the reason we escape into books into another reality. she’s strong and a survivor and so are you!!💓

This was an emotional rollercoaster. The writing from this author, sharing her life experience had to hard. But I hope that by doing this, she also found strength and a release from that life. I feel privileged to be able to spend a moment in her life, reading about her struggles and experiences. The sadness and hurt. This story touches on a deep level. This was such a heartfelt story. I couldn’t imagine half of what they went through. I’m really thankful that they were able to find the strength in life to get away from that and move forward. To blossom and find happiness. This was truly a wonderful story. And I’m honored to have been able to read this as an ARC. ❤️

This is an official ARC given by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Ok, wow, what a story! 3.5⭐️

My heart is broken. I feel like a friend just told me her deepest secrets and I sat and listen without any time to catch my breath. That’s how immersive her life tale is. Through this novel, the author, Ashley, reveals all her emotions and worries, her struggles, and how she dealt with her demons.

Amelia is a dreamer, confuse between reality and fantasy. Her love choices are questionable and mostly influence by her heart desires, ignoring her guts feeling and her minds warnings. She desperately wants to belong, to be chosen, to be the one.
This is a compelling story about love, pain, destruction, losses and recovery.

The writing style is fine; she is telling her story. However, (this why I could not give a 4⭐️) I do feel that a lot of information or event were incoherent to the story. More characters content, story details and growth would create a better understanding of the MC surroundings. We know nothing about her 1st love, her kids, her pregnancies, her best friend, her relationship with her father (which seams to be her most important and constant support) etc...

This journal could easily serve as a guide to a complete series of 3 or 4 books. I do hope to see more of Ashley’s writing in the future.

It’s very hard to review a book that is based on the authors life experience, so I hope I didn’t overstep. Thank you, Amelia, for sharing such a raw and personal story. ✌️

A story of heartbreak, overcoming, and fighting to become your very best. The ups and downs of this story are so real and raw. There are times when you want to shake her and ask what she was thinking and times when you want to wrap her in a hug and hold her through the struggles. Highly emotional 5 star read. Highly recommend to anyone who has ever been on the crazy roller coaster called love.

This book is a memoir of the authors journey thought few traumatic events. I have not had the pleasure of reading and reviewing a book of this nature to someone I know on a personal level of some sort.

I do want to say that it had earned its 5 star status from me. It is well written. It had all the components a good story needs. Plot, characters and spice.
