The very young child will learn basic vocabulary and come to recognize the various milestones in the Divine Liturgy. For the older child, the guide includes several longer psalms, quotes, and prayers; the 12 feast icons and kontakia; plus an extensive glossary filled with terms and vocabulary often heard throughout the liturgical year. Read this to the kids in stages as to ask them questions or provide answers (as best as I could). I grew up Catholic and have been a practicing Orthodox Christian member (specifically Serbian) and I feel at home in this community. The pictures here are beautiful and bright with simple explanations of what the church is and what it does for children. It has the Nicene's Creed prayer that we read a few times. Just a nice feel good book for the kids to learn about God and his Son in simple terms.

A lovely, simple book for children to understand what is occurring during the Divine Liturgy. Includes an explanation of the priest’s vestments and feast days.
