I found this book well written with richly detailed well rounded character descriptions, a realistic view of the mafia world and great suspense between Lucia leaving the abusive relationship with Marco, having the encounter with turn and then being dragged back into both their worlds with the events that happened years apart.
Turo was a complex man, a mafia don in a violent world of family, betrayal and constant vigilance who still at 48 was fighting the left over trauma from childhood abuse and trying daily not to let that trauma overtake him. His son Marco was a mean nasty drug addict who thought the world owed him everything. After years of abuse Lucia finally managed to run. She meets turo on the plane and he recognizes the abuse signs. He helps her and they have one night of comfort in each others arms before parting never knowing each others names. 3 yrs later Marco finds her and the son shes hidden and drags her back into his world where she finds the man is Marcos father who takes one look at her son and realizes it’s his child. Tharp changes everything and turo must keep them safe from his grown son and his rivals who will see them as leverage and weakness. Together they must navigate the danger they face, the simmering feelings they have, a child whose world has exploded into danger and fear and the mafia. Exciting
For the most part, this is well written. The author does a good job of character building. There's tons of action and drama. I REALLY appreciate how the author let the FMC actually contribute her strengths to the MMC's world. She saved his life and she wasn't just a lame, damsel in distress like so many authors choose to do w their FMC in these Mafia books. I would like to give it 4.5 stars instead of 5 just bc there are many parts in the book that made me double take and re-read a couple times due to poor syntax. There were parts that just didn't make sense or were worded poorly. I honestly felt like perhaps an editor might not have touched this book. The author is really talented but the story just needed some polishing. I'm still glad I found this author and I intend to check out more of her books.

She ends up having a heated one night with a stranger and ends up with a sweet bundle of joy. Things go bad again when Marco finds her. But thankfully Turo steps in and claims what is his. Dark, passionate, and consuming romance with plenty of ups and downs tossed in.

I really liked how they were open and honest with each other after they reunited about them looking for each other again and it was a discussion rather than an argument.

This is a compelling suspense tale of death, danger and falling in love under unexpected circumstances. I could not put this book down. It does include the dark subject of abuse at the hands of a partner but not from the main male character. I liked that the story was not predictable and the most important thing that stood out is that the main female character is strong and endures much to find her happy ever after.

This is an age gap mafia romance between Lucia and Turo. These two flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an interesting read. What starts out as a one night stand turns into something more. It is a love story with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters. This was a great book. I truly enjoyed it and finished it in one day because I couldn’t put it down. Some parts were slow because it was explaining everything going on in between time but it was wonderful and the ending was something you don’t see in these books often.

This book was full of unexpected twists and turns that kept me engaged from beginning to end. I found myself completely immersed in the story and thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
