Draco breaks a time turner and starts jumping around in time. When he sees he's married to Hermione in the future, he's horrified and fights against it. Meanwhile, his future self is coming to the past to charm Hermione.
been a while since i read a fanfic, first for dramione but i liked it. quite a long read, definitely could have been shorter, but i liked the plot, something different from other concepts.
Ok so in this one it’s the Time Travellers Wife basically? Thought it would be a fun sexy one but NOPE. It was a crying on my sofa on a Sunday evening one. I just want to take a moment to discuss the length. It was approx. 311,000 words. So what like, Middlemarch length? I just googled it, it’s actually longer than the entire hunger games trilogy. Why do I feel the need to mention that? I guess like my close personal boyfriend Draco Malfoy acknowledged in this very story - it’s not how much time we are given, but what we do with that time that matters. This is how I’m using my one precious go at life 🙂
3.5 stars. This dragged a lot and was much too long..if I hadn't had a long distance flight with enough time to get through almost all of it, I'm not sure I would have stuck it out. However it was impressive how all the time jumps worked together and I loved the twists at the end - it felt like all the pieces came together nicely.
I genuinely don’t understand how this isn’t talked about more often. I found this fic an emotional rollercoaster in the best possible way. I loved the development of this relationship, it felt so real. And I loved the other relationships explored within the fic. I don’t have any comments other than I find this sensational, I feel a pang in my chest when I think about this fic. I truly love it.
There's so many things I love about this novel that I'll probably have to make a list about it. Number one, I love that this started off confusing, but you can tell that the writer had a vision and a plan, and she pulled it off so well. Literally everything ties together. I almost gave up ten percent in because of how confused I was, but I'm so glad I didn't. Because not only does it make complete sense halfway through, but you also get to experience the different journey of the character. Number two, speaking of character journeys, I feel like this is one of those fan fictions where you start wondering if they will actually ever get together because of how difficult it seems. But yes, they do. And not only do they do, but it's just written in the most beautiful growth ever. I love that they grow into these mature people that you see earlier in the book and you wonder how you get there, and then you get to experience how you get there. I love that it's a realistic view of marriage. There's a lot of marriage fics I can't read because of how unrealistic it is, but this shows both the annoying, the difficult, the tiresome parts of marriage, and how it's all worth it in the end. I love that the writer didn't shy away from making the characters flawed. Hermione is insecure, and Draco is short-tempered, and they both come together in such wonderful ways. I love that there's no Ron bashing or Harry bashing. I In fact, I love how Harry Potter is so into this plot. I really love whenever Hermione's friendships are supported. I love the overall friend group. I love the side plots. Even the different POVs make sense. I'm literally awed by the talent that the writer showed in this novel.
Read this in the plane and all the way home. This was absolutely devastating. Such a gem of a story that carried the voices of the characters so well. I could actually see and feel how this could have very well been an alternative ending to the series. The misunderstandings and yearning and the connections the characters built with each other were so rich and delicious. The author has a huge library of delicious quotes and strangely enough, a deep love for Lang Leav. But it was still beautifully written, and while I wouldn’t say predictable, it was still a comforting, familiar end to a well written story. Well done!
Great premise and concept! Some fun bits in here, but the characterization for Hermione was off - I know she was unhappy but I found her to be unusually insecure, immature, and clueless (very un-Hermione-ish). She'd get huffy over minor things. The characterization really put me off. Ending a bit abrupt too. I get where the author was trying to go, but the execution throughout the book and for the ending just wasn't for me.
It starts out so promising, but it just needed editing.
Things I liked: •Draco stuck in a time traveling loop •Different versions of Hermione and Draco interacting with each other
Things I didn’t like •The pacing just started dragging. I had to power through the last 40% •Bennet and Theo and Blaise and Daphne fell flat. Pretty much the only side character who was interesting was Harry.
