The author and the hero def gone too far with his open relationship and infidelity. I hate narcissist hero, miscommunication, secret baby, and the most I hate is a weak ass doormat heroine. A love that never ends, pshhh. Miss me with A HATE THAT NEVER ENDS, how abt dat?
Lawwwdddddd this book is messy, emotional, and completely addictive. Juniper’s story hit hard growing up in dysfunction and trying not to repeat the same toxic cycles felt so real. My girl was doing the most and I loved when she made Faheem feel ish in his chest!!!!
Faheem isn’t perfect either, which makes their connection even more complicated and intense. This man had all the damn audacity with how he wanted ish! One thing I know do know he love him some damn Juniper!
The drama is top tier! Jealousy, secrets, and everything in between! It’s the kind of romance that keeps you turning pages because you need to know what happens next.
Faheem and Juniper… this was messy and I was entertained the whole time 😅
At first I was like sir… you cannot be serious thinking this setup is going to work. But as I kept reading, you could tell Faheem had real feelings, not just trying to juggle women. That part made me stay.
Juniper? She worked my nerves bad. I wanted to root for her but some of her choices had me like girl… stand up.
Faheem grew on me though. He was upfront from the beginning and eventually had to face his own mess, which I respected.
Overall, funny, chaotic, and a good time. A little too much going on in places, but I was locked in regardless. (4/5)
I thought I would like this because it has a trope in it I really like, but I didn't because no one in this book has any redeeming qualities. Juniper sees Faheem committing a crime, and she is forced to marry him because of it. Sounds good, right? It sets the stage for a good marriage of convenience. However, the plot doesn't make sense. Faheem has a longtime girlfriend, and for some unknown reason, after he marries Juniper, she has to come live with him AND his girlfriend, Mixie. Faheem likes Juniper, though the problem is he doesn't want to stop dealing with his girlfriend, and he doesn't. This book is basically 300 pages of Faheem playing both of them and them knowing about it. Juniper was beyond stupid. I'm taking only air between her ears, and Faheem was a dog-a*s n*gga who was only about himself. I couldn't care about them being together.
First I don't think there's any spoilers but just in case tread light.
Now, I absolutely love every one of Ni'ssan's books. It's a click to buy without any question. This book was absolutely hilarious as far as the comedic approach that she brings to her books. On the other side Juniper and Faheem got on my nerves. I feel like Juniper annoyed me more just because nothing about her made sense. You want to be the super strong woman that won't ever put up with nonsense or be played after your ex but yet and still you're literally doing nothing to prevent turning into putty over this man. Like no lie I was annoyed with her even in that first chapters in the basement. Who gets snatched up and still talks mess like you're in charge? And then everything afterwards it just annoyed me. Who are you to get mad about the situation that you willingly walked into? I've always been of the mindset that if your man is able to cheat, or you encourage him to cheat whatever your reasoning for it is you're clearly satisfied in the relationship you're in. In fact I'm of the bigger mindset that if I am willingly letting my man cheat on me I want to make it easy for him. I'm cooking for the three of us. I'm laying out his clothes for his dates with his women. I'm going to do what I need to do because I have allowed it to happen. No point in making it difficult for him. Which is why I don't date men that cheat. And don't get me started on this secret baby trope. It is played out and there are so many other ways to build drama and suspense and whatever else it is without preventing a man from being a man if he wants to be a man. Again give him the option. And then to justify it afterwards never since right with me when I read it in novels.
Faheem, loved everything about him the only part that annoyed me was his issues with Juniper entertaining other men. I get that it's supposed to be this alpha mentality but he certainly took things way too far for far too long. However I did respect that once he actually sat down with his parents, he got where he messed up. Aside from that, I didn't have a problem with anything he did whatsoever. He was up front, he let everyone know what it was from the beginning. He was not ever disrespectful to anyone and if anything I felt bad for him because again, every single one of y'all allowed this but kept nagging the poor man about it.
I really did love Frankee I hope that we do get at least a little bit of her story with mookie cuz don't tell me what happened to him but don't tell me how it happened.
As far as Daelite goes I don't know if I want to read about her. I feel like she's going to give too much Juniper and it'll just work my spirit. Honestly cheating with consent from both parties is one thing but cheating when one is in the dark I can't have any parts. I did hate to see that it seems as if she turned fairly bitter towards the end and I hate that for her.
I don't want to give away too much more but I will say that the addition of Clive, Angelo and Angel, Jamie, Mixie, Big Frank, and Nancy seemed kind of unnecessary once everything ended the way it did. It felt like it was just adding a level of drama that wasn't really quite resolved and could easily not been included. The love triangle from hell is enough of a messy plot on its own.
If the next book is on Daelite unfortunately I might have to skip the next book. Annoyance aside I still love her books and I'm glad that I did read this one.
I feel like this started out good and could've been a great plot but it feel through for me. Too much repetitive back and forth with a mystery lingering in the background that didn't make much sense at the end. Seemed unnecessary honestly. I was excited for an enemies to lovers, kidnapping trope. Secret babies are a no for me but that ended up happening. Frankee was really the only likeable character. I'm glad she got her happy ending.
Juniper was a weak, dumb FMC and that's always annoying. She didn't know if she wanted to be tough or weak, bothered or unbothered when it came to Faheem and Mixie. Then she jumped from Faheem right into another dumb situation with Kojo. Mixie's pregnancy was a wild card that could've added some interest to the plot. After all of Juni's and Heem's back and forth and lost time, Mixie's baby could've been for Clive in the end. And the disrespect of naming him Forrest?? No way. What was the point of Juniper losing her mom? Then no real explanation of what happened (we can assume mixie and/or Clive offed her) but that added nothing to the story.
Daelite and Gee- not interesting. Dumb and dumber. Gee is unhinged and since Daelite has a child by another man, their story should end there.

Saw a recommendation online a few times to read but it was nothing like I expected. This book was completely all toxic energy and messy. I got a third through book and kept debating about finishing it. The main characters Juniper and Faheem were messy then mix in the triangle with Mixie ugh. Raheem going in between them then one minute Juniper strong then next have weakness for Faheem and Mixie was just there. The storyline with these 3 were surface level and didn't seem to go beyond sex. The book was too long I thought. And the plot and how everything wrapped up just didn't make sense. Felt like it should have been way deeper to get Juniper and Faheem together and then the big secret that was hanging over them the whole book I forgot about it until the end because we were to busy dealing with the messiness of it all with the characters, triangle, and babies. Then when we get to the big secret it still didn't make sense to me. Faheem set all this up and it didn't make any sense really on why, just needed to be more to the story. Just didn't seem like the plot and characters were well thought out. Went through a whole book full of messy stuff. Not of fan of the triangle trope, it just never seems to be executed and the books end up being too long.
I HIGHLY recommend reading this book. My goodness, this book was so damn good. The way it was written, the story line, the characters I literally felt like I was there in the book. I swear this book will have you laughing, crying, crying happy tears. The emotions you felt in this book opened up wounds that I have been trying to heal from and grow through. And the way the FMC and MMC loved each other was beautiful in the end when Faheem got his shit right. I love me some Faheem and the way he loved Juni OUTLOUD AND PROUD. Yall go read this book I swear yall are gonna LOVE IT!!!! Thank you Nissan I LOVED ME SOME FAHEEM AND JUNI.
I think was my first book by this author. I will definitely be checking out the catalog, I can say this book u gotta be a cold piece to allow ur man of 5 plus yrs to get married cause daddy says do and then if new wife had to move in yawl house. And bounce from a different bed each nigh. And u and his wife bout to fight when yawl meet in the kitchen but ain’t nobody willing to let him go. Honey no ma’am
This book was exceptional. It kept me fully engaged from beginning to end, constantly surprising me and keeping me on edge. There were moments that genuinely pissed me off but that only speaks to how invested I was in the characters and their journey. I’m ultimately glad things unfolded the way they did. Without a doubt, this is my top book of the year so far.
This author never ceases to amaze me on how she will have my mouth drop to the floor . The main characters will her you side eyeing them , but baybeee this was on crazy ride . Ya parents can have more secrets then a little bit 😮💨 I ate this book up and if you download trust you will do the same
Faheem & Juniper! I really wanted to know how these two would end up! Faheem seamed delusional in the beginning. Surely he couldn't believe this would work? But as I read you discover he had real feelings beyond having his cake and eating it too. This was a wild entertaining ride. I felt for both Faheem & Juniper big head self.
This is one time that I remember the title being SO true. This book went TOO far and the love seemed to never end. A book that you keep hoping it would just end so you can go on to something else. I was really on the fence with my rating. The book was well written but where they do that at 😳
Nit knowing how to communicate your feelings without crashing out is very important. This book allows you to see that. And as much as these two loved each other despite all the hell they went through love still won!!! And I absolutely loved that for them. Keep writing and I’ll definitely keep reading!!!
This book was good! Yes, Juni did get on my nerves but so did Mixie. Faheem worked a nerve a well because he had no idea what he was doing in the beginning but with help he figured it out. Their fathers get the ultimate revenge in the end! I’m going to recommend this book! You will laugh, fuss with the characters and shed a few tears! Please enjoy!
This book was amazing. It had all of the different tropes in one. Kidnapped to lovers. Secret baby. I love it. The chemistry between Juniper and Faheem was of the charts. Even though there was times I wanted her to just say no and walk away. Mixie and Clive was trifling and she got her karma. This is a must read.
Raheem was truly unhinged. Juno was caught up. Whew this was a circle of truth, lies, jealousy, revenge and more. Whew I’m glad Forest was Fa son. Mystic had me nervous. Secrets spilling and happy ending.
Ok hear me out….i liked the story but i hated the toxicity and betrayal and the dang on characters! I will say that more often or not love triangles exist and there are situations where all parties are aware and this book painted the picture too good. I enjoyed this messy messy time!
