loved the setting!
A book that had a plot that revolves around my decades-love of coffee and how successful it can be?!? Oh yessssss 👏🏻😮💨 coffee has been my best friend through many long sleepless nights, lol (and the flashbacks to my college days and my newborn baby are no joke 🤣).
Andrea (no age given for any character 😒) has been working at Sweet Seasons Coffee for a while now and keeps getting passed for a promotion 😒. So when her boss decides to sell, she’s hoping it’s for the best.
Harrison Cross has a bone to pick with his coffee competition- Starbucks 😑 his nemesis🤬. He wants to basically put them out of business, and what he intends to do is make superior coffee 🤷🏻♀️. So in the opportunity to buy Sweet Seasons Coffee comes by, he takes it 💁🏻♀️.
When he meets Andrea, he can’t help but smile. She’s the one that put him in his place when he cut in mine earlier in the day 🤣, and he loves that 😉.
In fact, he loves a lot about her 👀: not only her mind and attitude, but her body too 😉.
When he takes over and becomes the tyrant he’s known to be, Andrea isn’t going to let him get her.
But he’s gonna make sure he’ll do anything get her under him 👀.
What I liked:
— the banter 👀. I love that Andrea gives no Fs when it comes to Harrison 💁🏻♀️. She’ll tell him like it is 👏🏻
— the times I smiled 🤣
— the tension 😉. These two waaaaant each other 👀
— the 🔥. First kiss happens at like 32% and they do it all by 70% 😅
— he enjoys eating cereal 🥵💦
— Andrea’s moral compass ❤️. When she feels like Harrison crosses a line, she doesn’t let it go 🤷🏻♀️
— Harrison confronting people 😈
— the OMD 😉. That poor post it didn’t know what was coming 🤣
— the side characters ❤️
— how they get close 🫶. They both had to reveal their vulnerable side, and I loved that
— the epilogue 🥹. There’s a bonus epilogue, or maybe a deleted scene, that you can get if you sign up for WG’s newsletter. I gotta read it still 🤣
— that it wasn’t as short as some of her other newer books 👏🏻
What I needed more of:
— for certain plots points to be resolved better
— more in the future. The epilogue is only six months later 😭
— I want more buildup, more tension, especially when it came to the 🔥 scenes. Because I didn’t feel as much tension buildup, the scenes feel a little like want the dub/con side 😅 (which I don’t mind but others might 😬). I love to feel my tummy flutter when the MC’s are in the same room right before they kiss or do anything else 😅, and I wanted more of that feeling in this book (we do get some delicious tension though)
— less FTB scenes 😒 And some longer ones too, please 😅
— when the third act breakup happens, I felt like she needed to actually wait and listen to him, and he needed to be more forthcoming and get her POV 🤷🏻♀️
Overall, I really enjoyed it ❤️

This is exactly why I pick up Whitney G: a heroine who fought her own impulses and suffered deliciously terrible decision-making, followed by a hero who was equal parts infuriating and irresistible. Andrea’s inner monologue had me snorting and rolling my eyes one second and swooning the next, and Nathaniel Cross? He was the quintessential love-to-hate alpha, Cold, controlled, unapologetically dominant, and so maddeningly self-assured that every interaction felt like a power play. The banter was wickedly fun and the sexual tension simmered hot and heavy beneath every interaction. This was a bold, intense and completely addictive read!

Parts of this were still amusing as Whitney’s characters always are but the business overshadowed the romance for me. The corporate structure was all over the place (assistant to CFO….plus the CPA exam etc). The stakes were suppose to be high but ultimately they weren’t because Harrison already has a ton of money to fix it even before going to Mr Lewis for some of the missing money. I loved that the conflict was centered on ethics though with the lay offs being the main issue. Because that’s refreshingly real life. The resolution for everything just felt rushed though. Over all not a bad story but messy and not as satisfying when the emotional trauma is solved by spending money. I mean come on he buys Starbucks! I laughed and it was a quick read. Not my favorite though.

Hogwash. That’s a term that needs to be brought back, because that’s what this was.
I almost DNF this book so many times because it was complete nonsense.
I know many billionaires are probably complete and total douchewads and most likely egotistical narcissists, but I can’t EVER imagine one walking into a coffee shop, cutting to the front of the line to place a giant order and basically telling everyone to eff off and get over it. First of all, how many billionaires get their own orders, let alone orders for a group of people?!?
And that was just the start of the absurdity.
Nothing this man does is legal. He often gets sued —and for good reason— yet he manages to get away with whatever he’s done.
That being said, I did like him being brought to his knees -even as outlandish as the situation was.
I’m hoping Ms. G doesn’t continue with this quality of writing because I usually love her work.

Very average. 3.0 is really a gift. Love Whitney’s books….usually.

A new office romance to burn up the night. A boss with an unhinged workaholic personality and an employee trying to survive his slaving work schedule fill the pages of this story with their insane romance. It's more like a battle of wills.
I had a great time between fun and disbelief. I think this man is the most extreme boss coming from the author's imagination. His ideas on how to run a business and treat his employees are beyond illegal and crazy. Hence the hilarious scenario for the impossible relationship between them.
It's really a slow-burn situation with sudden bursts of sensuality.
The tension grows exponentially while she navigates his strict antics. He keeps her tied to him because he's obsessed and the reader learns about his company as if we worked there too. There's an interesting evolution going on with this relentless boss who only sees numbers until he doesn't. It's hilarious how blind he is to his own fall.

The Final Terms is an easy and quick read.
If you enjoy Whitney G's office romances with detestable CEOs and employees who stand up to them, if you like dynamic and funny verbal sparring, full of sarcasm, if you like steamy scenes... this novel is for you! The author is back to what she does so well... but this time, she doesn't develop her characters and story enough. Mr. Harrison isn't just a demanding boss; he's a tyrant who goes way too far with his demands. And when we're finally told where his anger comes from, the explanation is insufficient, too rushed, and glossed over. When he argues with Andrea, just before their breakup, he's too cruel, too disrespectful to her. And at the very end, his solution to his problems is ridiculous. His solution could have been used from the beginning; I don't understand why he didn't do it long ago since it seems so simple.
This story, despite everything, has an addictive quality; I so wanted to see Andrea stand up to him, show him how to behave like a human being and a good boss. So, yes, he does change a little, but it doesn't erase everything. In short, an entertaining book, but far from perfect.

I really liked this one! It is very “Whitney”, so those of you that know her work should be very pleased.
If you’re new and reading this, just know that she writes businessmen who are typically assholes and she does that very well. Her storylines are a little “rinse repeat”, but she’s Whitney, so we continue to get sucked in. LOL
I’ve learned she’s normally not that great with novellas but full-length is her jam.
In conclusion, I was entertained and that’s what counts. Until next time!

Wow! This story is just wow, full of back and forth banter between these two! The sparks of both anger, defiance and dealing with a boss who clearly has power issues. But the story is true about when two people fight each other hard, sometimes it's due to a fierce attraction, and theirs is as strong as it gets. Absolutely beautiful, powerful feelings. Loved this story ❤️.

Ok, so workplace romance is always a tricky thing if you really want it to be a romance story, not a description of a sexual harassment. Other than that, in what place of the universe it is allowed to torture employees with sleep or food deprivation? What lawyer would approve an employment contract stating that an employee isn’t allowed to quit the job? Slavery was abolished in the U.S. centuries ago, but what do I know? Anyways, as Ms. G. books go, this one seemed to be sloppy in the credibility department (ok, none of them are actually credible but you know what I mean) and this boss in particular hasn’t had a one single thing going for him. Not one. Other than old good BBS. Disappointing.

It’s a silly little book, with a silly little plot, but it was very enjoyable and easy to read. The alpha male persona is slightly exaggerated and the male character’s grumpiness is over the top, but hey, this book is not supposed to be too serious anyway.

This book was so unserious in the best way. 😆
Okay, so it's been a little bit since I read a Whitney G book, but she never disappoints. And as I said above, this book was silly. The MMC Harrison was a controlling bosshole, as you expect, and somehow he still gets his girl. Good for him. The FMC was intelligent and determined to make sure her baby sister got everything she wanted in life even if she had to put her own dreams on hold. I think we can all relate to that sacrifice.
Truly I didn't hate or love either character. Harrison I absolutely am sure I didn't quite like but I just couldn't hate him either. I liked that he was complex, and that he took protecting those he loved very seriously. While I understood his need for revenge, I didn't love how it hung over the entire book.
The FMC Andrea, I liked her for much of the book. I loved that she did her level best not to take Harrison's shit, as Ms. G's strong ladies tend to do. But I also didn't love how she didn't push back more in certain situations or moments between them. Especially when it came to sexual interactions. It screamed betraying body syndrome, and even Andrea acknowledged once her body betrayed her so... yeah 😆 I actually didn't want her to give him an inch in that area at all until he treated her better. But 🤷🏻♀️
Aside from not enough push back from the FMC, the fact the MMC didn't truly grovel really irked me. I understood why Andrea broke it off with him and cut him off completely but him simply turning around weeks later and going "Oh I miss you, and I didn't go through with it." was absolutely NOT enough for me. Andrea spent the last chapters basically moping and crying on and off over his crap and sure Harrison acted like he lost his will to live and all ability to focus on anything because he lost her but I wanted moreeee. He did lie, he did disregard her feelings, he did treat her like trash when she confronted him about it AND he never apologized for THAT behavior. He refused to consider he was wrong in any way and thought he deserved an apology from HER. But he got her back without really grovelling tbh and I needed him to sooooo badly to make up for all his previous behavior in their relationship because regardless of why he suppressed his emotions and why he acted like an unfeeling selfish workaholic to everyone in his life I needed HIM to see how terrible his behavior towards everyone had been and at least own that he needed to do better... especially to Andrea.
Because yeah, Harrison was a terrible boss and seemed like a selfish "I am always right and I know best" type of man driven by revenge y'all lol no way my ass would've stuck around to work for him and if he wasn't hot and wouldn't have sued for "leaving him" I doubt real world Andrea would have either 😂
I was also bummed even in the epilogue there was no "I love you" admittance. Not having it before was just perfect for me but the epilogue was a six month time jump and Harrison was outright telling her he was gonna propose that night. Like, I don't want to imagine they've admitted their feelings ok? I want to SEE it. No implying nonsense. Gimmie gimmieee 😩😆

Okay, so it's been a little bit since I read a Whitney G book, but she never disappoints. And as I said above, this book was silly. The MMC Harrison was a controlling bosshole, as you expect, and somehow he still gets his girl. Good for him. The FMC was intelligent and determined to make sure her baby sister got everything she wanted in life even if she had to put her own dreams on hold. I think we can all relate to that sacrifice.
Truly I didn't hate or love either character. Harrison I absolutely am sure I didn't quite like but I just couldn't hate him either. The book was honestly nice and easy to get into. The storyline was interesting enough to keep me reading, and I didn’t feel bored while going through it. It had a good plot and the idea behind it was actually strong.
But the main problem was the emotional side of the story. The characters kept going back and forth again and again, and it just didn’t feel right after a point. Instead of growing closer in a meaningful way, it felt like they were stuck in the same cycle the whole time.
Because of that, I never really felt a strong emotional connection with them. The only part that actually hit a little was when they both opened up about their past. That scene felt real and genuine, and I wish there were more moments like that.
Most of the time, their bonding was either them arguing or getting physical (not that they do it but yeah mostly more on a sexual side than an emotional one) and it didn’t really build any deeper connection between them.
Also at times it felt irregularly written as at a moment he was sad and depressed about her being gone and went searching for her at her sister’s home, the very next moment he’s there telling her that they were merely coworkers that crossed boundaries.. LIKE WHAT???
It also lacked that continuity in chapters they were very random, one moment they are in headquarters working, next they are going to businesses conference, then they are at their apartment, then her sister is hosting a party for her out of nowhere, randomly she’s ill having a flu then suddenly she’s at the headquarters at the wrong time when she should have been at his apartment with a nurse looking after her, and randomly she’s posing with a model for her sister or friend’s ? (I don’t remember) book cover! That was very unnecessary and out of context.. All this didn’t really set right!
The MMC was a jerk throughout till the very end but still only had his eyes on her, NO OW drama despite all the push and pull.
The FMC was a strong headed character that didn’t take bullshit and stood her ground but also kept working with him after all his jerky actions.. she was witty and fun.
Overall, it’s a decent read with a good storyline one that makes you want to read and know what happens nexr, but it lacks emotional depth, which makes it hard to truly connect with the characters.
It reads didn’t hit the ROMANCE mark for me.

“I bury myself in work as often as I can so I don’t have to feel anything after what I’ve been through.”
I love the way Whitney can bring an arrogant billionaire alpha-hole to his knees over love. Case in point, Harrison Cross, CEO, Swet Seasons Coffee, Founder & Owner, Cross Industries. I( laughed at the way he signed every email with both titles!) Harrison is typical of his species. He's swimming in money, drop-dead gorgeous, and a rude, arrogant jerk who's learned to repress all emotions. It's not that he doesn't let anyone see his emotions, he's just buried them so deep he doesn't think he has any. He was completely unprepared when Andrea entered into his world, knocking him off his feet and leaving him completely clueless. It's fantastic!
Andrea was also typical of these books. She's smart, hard working, confident, and compassionate. She's not afraid of butting heads with him and is the perfect woman to take on Mr. CEO.
Despite having instant chemistry, they both fight their mutual attraction and instead focus on verbal sparring. It was funny watching Harrison try to resist his feelings for her. There are also some fun and interesting supporting characters and an Easter egg or two.
I read so many reviews that complained about Harrison, but I honestly really liked him. Andrea is the one that irritated me. I didn't like her inability to cut Harrison some slack. Her emotions were all over the place. She kept jumping to conclusions and was often completely unreasonable. No matter what he did for her, she was ungrateful and constantly pushed for more. So annoying. To me, he showed unbelievable patience with her.
In conclusion, this is an amusing Boss/Employee romance and I enjoyed it.

I almost DNF this book so many times!! I don’t even know why I kept reading, but some thoughts now that I’ve finished:
1. Harrison is utterly unlikable from the outset. We learn he is a petty, vindictive man with far more money than integrity. And the scale of Harrison’s complete and utter asshole-ness (new word!) just kept growing.
2. I’m shocked that the author chose to use Starbucks (and not a pseudonym) to be the source of Harrison’s ire. He conveys that the CEO is without a conscious; that employees are miserable; that Starbucks cafes lack inspiration and that the coffee is so bad it shouldn’t even be called coffee. I have no personal interest in Starbucks at all, but I wasn’t aware you could actually single out a real business, even in a book of fiction, and defame it that way.
3. There were too many things that seemed both outrageous and plain stupid. At one point, Harrison demands that Andrea start work at 3am, like what?? Why would the author even write that?! And suggesting that Harrison works until midnight and returns to start his day at 3:30am was just dumb. Also, we’re supposed to believe Harrison is a billionaire, but spends his days visiting as many Starbucks as possible to pick up clues as to how he can best them. And given the company’s supposed dire straits, Andrea’s one hundred fold salary increase made zero sense.
Sometimes I wonder if an author goes all in on making a MMC so bad, that his redemption, through love of course, will seem all the more meteoric. Harrison missed this mark in so many ways. And the fact that Andrea put up with him for most of the book was entirely disappointing.

The Final Terms is a very enjoyable office romance story. It is filled with banter and humor.
Andrea works at a company and is highly anticipating a new job title. She works hard to support her sister who is in college. Her boss calls her in in what she thinks will be for her new promotion. Instead she finds out the company is being sold. The new owner is Harrison who has a reputation for being a terrible boss.
Harrison is a very wealthy CEO who manages his company with an iron fist. His reputation precedes him as being cold and calculated. He has strict rules for his employees. His employees soon find out that he doesn't believe in lunch breaks or time off.
When Andrea comes in to meet Harrison, she is surprised to learn that she will be his assistant. She soon learns that he has no heart for his employees and begins to understand why he has his reputation. She refuses to meet all his demands and tries to figure out a way to leave him. As she gets to know Harrison she sees that he is more than what meets the eye. He still has his rules but she is a challenge to him. She is a strong woman who will not back down when she thinks she is right.
I loved how Andrea was so strong and how she would banter with Harrison. I loved how their chemistry was just so good. If you are looking for a well-written, fun office romance you can't pass this one up. I look forward to more stories from this talented author.

Andrea works very hard at Sweet Seasons & is top employee hoping to move up the ladder very soon. That’s exactly what she thinks is happening when she gets a text from her current boss, Mr. Lewis asking her to come in for a chat. But she couldn’t be more wrong. Instead, we find out that Harrison Cross has now bought Sweet Seasons & he isn’t wasting any time showing his true colors. Colors that Andrea is quickly realizing she doesn’t like.
I have to say, I’ve read a lot of Whitney’s books & she has a lot of office romances that deal with bosses who are real jerks but Harrison Cross takes the cake I think! He is probably one of absolute worst bosses ever to have to work for. lol No days off. Long long long hours. Changes in schedules whenever he feels like it. Not wanting to really budge on anything. What a nightmare it would be. Buuuuuut as always, as time goes by, his little stone heart starts to soften.
I loved Andrea. She stood up for herself. She was selfless when it came to her sister. Harrison was very in his own ways. Stubborn, arrogant & intelligent. He was so hot and cold with Andrea a lot of the time. But it made the story interesting! I really enjoyed their first meeting before she knew who he was. That was fun!

Encima pensaba entre uno de vi y pen y el de two weeks notice(que amooooo) y whitney siendo su propia enemiga te manda el adelanto al final del libro Jajakja como te quiero
Cuestión va de un CEO mandon y estúpido y la empleada asistente con problemas para llegar a fin de mes.
El chabon compra esta ¿cadena de cafés? para vengarse de Starbucks🤌, le metieron mucho misterio al motivo y el desenlace fue re meh.
Esta empresa era el gobierno argentino con tanta gente sin laburar y cobrando todo muy raro, el chabon prota no se entero o sabía ni idea no quedó claro pero ????.
Bueno bueno cuestión que la relación de ambos es la típica jefe empleada/ asistente donde el chabon la tapa de laburo pero le tiene unas ganas tremendas, la mina tambien asique entre peleitas pasan muy rápido a las "piñas".
Algo que odio desde el primer libro que leí de Whit (duda razonable) es que a la mina le dan mil beneficios tremendo salario y ella ya se empiezan a comportar como en casa y a perder el respeto a sus superiores agggg.
Después siempre siempre la va a cagar el man y se va a volver arrastrando por su amada.

Whitney G. is known for her sharp banter, and The Final Terms delivers more of the same. Mr. Cross comes across as a bit unhinged for a CEO, but the story still offers plenty of enemies-to-lovers drama with unexpected twists.

Another Spicy Office Romance

Andrea Stone worked her way up from barista to the assistant to the Owner of the company. Andrea has been a dedicated and loyal employee for many years and Mr. Lewis held on to her by manipulating her into thinking he was going to make her an executive….after all he refers to her as “his secret weapon”!
Finally the day comes but instead of getting the promotion she is told that the company has been sold to Mr. Harrison Cross. Cross is a tyrant and does not accept working boundaries of his employees.
Now they are in a takeover and the employees cannot leave and the work situation is intense!
Well hot CEO and smart mouth assistants and you can imagine the fire works that are in the making!
W.G. is great at writing the explosion of an office romance and this story does not disappoint!

Rec'd this arc for an honest review:
I read the blurb & knew it was going to be a good story. AND I was happy that instead of WG's novellas this was a true novel - an emotional novel that was fleshed out. Billionaire Harrison was an amazing character - he ranks up there w/Andrew from "Reasonable Doubt" - a cold, heartless man w/past issues & obviously the past is what has made him the total *sshole he is in the present world. Andrea was a feisty employee w/no real job title until Harrison hires her to be his EA & she is really good @ her job. There are several push & pull scenes as the storyline unraveled. They end up in HI for a business conference & Harrison could no longer hold in his feelings - sparks fly & suddenly they are a couple (albeit short-lived). I won't spoil it for the readers as to why they broke up, but like all romance novels there is an HEA.
Aside: I was soooo happy to read that Damian Carter was mentioned. I will take any crumbs from the "Reasonable Doubt" world.
