Tielle (pronounced "teal") St. Clare has had life-long love of romance novels. She began reading romances in the 7th grade when she discovered Victoria Holt novels and began writing romances at the age of 16 (during Trigonometry, if the truth be told). During her senior year in high school, the class dressed up as what they would be in twenty years-Tielle dressed as a romance writer.

When not writing romances, Tielle has worked in public relations and video production for the past 20 years. Tielle moved to Alaska when she was seven years old in 1972 when her father was transferred with the military.

Tielle believes romances should be hot and sexy with a great story and fun characters.

Unexpected Alpha
By Tielle St. Clare

Craigh is a sweet, albeit tall and heavily muscled, Omega. When his cruel Alpha continues to raise the pack taxes and then demands to claim "jus primae noctis”, the right to sleep with every female the night of their mating, he challenges his Alpha. His sister is to be mated soon and he doesn't want that for her.

Rowan has always kept a constant eye on the sexy Omega. When he learns Craigh has challenged his Alpha and then finds out Craigh's Alpha plans to make an example of him and kill him Rowan can't let that happen.

The book is well written. No angst. Rowan and Craigh are great together. On my rereads list.

Craigh has been encouraged to challenge the Alpha of his pack. He might be large but is described as a gentle giant. Concern for Craigh's life motivates Rowan to make his desires known to Craigh. He has watched him from afar for long enough and it's time to act or lose him.
If you are expecting a story of pack politics and Lone wolves causing trouble then look elsewhere. This story is about Rowan and Craigh's relationship over one short but very intense day. From the time Rowan learns of Craigh's challenge through to the outcome of the Alpha Challenge.
An enjoyable read based solidly on their feelings and arousal.

This is a quick read – some typical shifter stuff and some really, really hot sexy times.

Rowan is an Alpha, but a lone wolf. He’s got his eyes on an Omega who thinks he’s an Alpha (read a bottom who thinks he’s a top).

When Craigh challenges his evil Alpha for control of the pack and to wrest the pack from tyranny, Rowan knows he has to make his move. In a move that was a little Deus ex Machina, Rowan manages to take over the challenge thus saving his Omega, and saving the pack.

But… Craigh is really strong and ends up saving Rowan back – so it’s a great partnership.

I really enjoyed this – though there’s nothing too exciting or new here, but it was well written and a fun read.

Cute story more focused on pair than on Alpha Challenge - although things got interesting in the end. It's short so not to mych to tell. I was annoyed, a lot, by Phillip  with such friends who needs enemies? I'm curious what will happen at the end of his exiled year... I'm waiting (im)patiently for next book in series

Rowan knew Craigh was his mate for an entire year and didn't do anything about it. He had sex with other men, he saw Craigh take other men home and didn't even care. Then this whole alpha challenge happens and so he claims Craigh. I kept waiting for an explanation of why Rowan hadn't already claimed Craigh if they've known each other for an entire year! I never got one. The entire premise just didn't make any sense in the context of a shifter world where fated mates exist.

Git this book as a freebie in exchange for a review. I'm a big fan of omega verse stories and this was no let down apart from it could have been longer. Really a 3.75 score. Got that great mix of fated mates and men who need to be together, the alphas you love to dislike and a prince coming to the rescue. Will read more from this author.

A really good book.

Tielle St.Clare is a good storyteller. This is the start of a series and can be read as such or taken as a stand alone.

More of a 2.5 than a 2.
I've no complaint with the writing or characters. It just ends so abruptly. When you're reading, it feels like you're missing the second half of the book.

I enjoyed it, but I couldn't help hoping that the story was more fleshed out.

I love shifter stories and I thought this book had an interesting idea behind it--shy, gentle giant challenges horrible alpha to save his sister from having to sleep with the alpha on her wedding night (before she sleeps with her new husband.) This could have been so good--the author seemed talented enough to make this a worthwhile story. Instead I found one of the mc's downright unlikeable, at least til the very end. The two mc's either thought about, talked about or had sex for 90% of the book. No connection except that the one mc was obsessed with having sex with the other mc. He supposedly liked the mc for a year, meanwhile he's having sex with many others. boo--Very disappointing!

Unexpected Alpha

Craigh was from a pack who has a bad Alpha. Rowan is a lone wolf who is a strong alpha who has two other lone wolfs who work at his bar just outside of pack lands. Craigh and Rowan are mates but Craigh doesn't realize it yet. Craigh is not an alpha personality he is an omega. These two go through some up and downs but everything works out and they do become mates and Rowan does become alpha of the pack. I just liked this book a lot and cannot wait to see if their is another one. Erin

Short but entertaining

This was a quick read . Entertaining. I would've liked to seen more of the relationship between the two main characters . Either before the challenge or after . I would've liked to have them explore the Omega side of the main character since it seemed like only the Lonewolves recognized the fact he was omega.

I could definitely be interested to see where more of this goes.

I didn't feel like there was a LOT of together time between them and the mate issue is not explained so don't know if its insta knowing or what. Rowan has known for a while that Craigh is his mate but Craigh doesn't seem to be aware of that fact.

Still, I did find myself liking and rooting for the Lone wolves.

Short and hot. Loved the tension of wondering how Rowan was going to get Craigh out of the challenge with the Alpha. The sexual tension and Rowan's cocky play was wonderfully done. Good beginning to a new series.

I liked this book. The characters were developed. There was sexual content and violence in this story. Looking forward to Kia's book.
