Attending the wedding of an ex-girlfriend can’t be easy, especially if she broke your heart. But this is not Noah’s only problem in this story – there are quite a few shocking surprises and unexpected revelations for him as the story develops. They all center around the ex’s brother, Alex, who seems awfully familiar to Noah. Intrigued by this mystery and Noah’s reactions, I was pulled into the discovery of what was going on. The setting also added to my fascination – Hong Kong around Valentine’s Day is a fabulous backdrop to the unfolding personal drama.

This was really, really lovely. A quite but beautiful read, evocative and filled with a lot of depth. I loved the sneaky sense of the writing, how the story unfolded and waited for you to catch up. Really, really wonderful. I think I'll be thinking about these characters for a while.

Far Chance is the third book in the A Touch of Love series by Helena Maeve. I can say the book had potential to be a very good book. I like the idea of a transgendered man meeting the man he fell in love with as he was transgendering later in life after he transgendered.
Noah is visiting college friends, he is attending a wedding of an old college friend. From the sounds of it he likes her okay but really doesn’t consider her a good friend. At one point I wondered why he bothered to come at all. He seemed well non involved.
Alex he once broke Noah’s heart when he was a girl. Now that he is a man Noah still wants him. Noah is now gay at this point in the book and open about it.
These two really do not get together till the book ends. Then that is it. Like whoosh we are done. I felt if the story was finished and longer I would have loved it. But as it is right now I think it’s a potentially good half finished story. I would have liked to have seen a few issues resolved. Such as their feelings for each other now, what is going to happen to them, heck are they ever going to have sex? Anything. For a start of a story this is a great read, if you want an entire well developed story this is not the book to pick up.
