Gavin Scott is the eldest sibling in the Scott family and has spent the least amount of time in his home town of Elk Lake city as possible. He does have some good memories though, most of them revolve around the two summers he spent with Britton McKay who was holidaying with her Aunt & Uncle.
Gavin had a career in baseball when he was younger and when he decided to do something else his father was critical of his choices. He has felt the weight of that disappointment ever since so going home is something he would rather avoid. Having said that, he misses his mother and now that her ill health is dominating her life, it’s important that he spends time with her.
Gavin now has a successful career in the film industry and has a movie launch planned near Elk Lake so he can work and catch up with his family for a couple of weeks. What he didn’t know was that Britton now lived permanently in Elk Lake. No one in his family had mentioned it to him and it has been years since he last saw her.
Britton put down roots in Elk Lake a few years ago after her husband passed away and she was the benefactor of her Aunt & Uncle’s property. She has opened her own small business and devotes the rest of her time to her son Gee. Moving to a new place and losing his father has been tough on him but they seem to have settled into their new life in this community focused town.
When Gavin sees Britton again he is blown away by how beautiful she is. All the memories from those two summers come flooding back and he can’t seem to stop thinking of her. Britton is shocked to see Gavin again and like a fine wine, he has aged well. She has no idea how to deal with him being in Elk Lake. She knows that she will not let him in like she did in the past, it will only lead to heartbreak for her and she has Gee to focus on now.
Britton’s plan to steer clear of Gavin seems to go completely wrong, she bumps into him at every turn she makes and avoiding him is not going to happen. She just needs to get through the next two weeks and he will once again be a distant memory. However, there are some unresolved things that need to be settled between them and this time when Gavin leaves he may never return.
I think this was book number five in this series and I quickly fell back into Elk Lake city life. It was so lovely to be back with all the other characters I had gotten to know over the series. I really love these small town romances and especially enjoy second chance romances - although in this case it was a third chance romance :)
A light and breezy Summer Lovin story that touches the heart like a soft summer whisper on the shores of Elk lake. Very sensitive book, written with tenderness, Dunbar revisits the Small town once again and the circle of friends gets bigger. It's a story of second, third...maybe fourth chance at finding your destination in life by meandering down memory lanes, sometimes getting lost, hitting dead ends and sometimes saying, Voila! It's here!! "Our lives are a journey with multiple roads. You can take the path less traveled, turn back, start again, do a roundabout, or speed down the highway. It’s about choices."
Gavin Scott is the Prodigal son that returns to find his family and friends thick as thieves, his once teen crush still there, albeit a widow and a mother now And the small town still gossipping and being nosey. But he has missed out on all the small details, his mother's sickness, his loves travails and nobody is updating him “I’ll remind you of that when you realize home isn’t a place. It’s a person. Sometimes it’s even more than one.” It's like he's the maverick who ran away and now they don't trust him to stick around so they won't include him in their lives. It's pissing Gavin off!!! And also the love of his life, Britton McKay, is closed up tighter than Fort Knox and no amount of cajoling, teasing, flirting or hot passionate sex would woo her and relax her.
It's pissing Gavin off!! "I have this strange sense Britton holds the key to the thing I’ve felt missing in my life. The thing which seems just out of my grasp, waiting for me to catch it. Like that ball coming down the first baseline, ready to change my life forever." All his life & happiness is right there in front of him. His friends, his family, his parents, his siblings, the love of his life....but he hasn't opened his eyes yet. When his heart opens up, the view is astounding and takes his breath away. It's then that the realization dawns on him. But he has to work hard to gain them back and theres a secret that will tumble up his plans, his life, his trust in shambles. Oooooooooooh, it's the juicy part 4.5 stars for Candy Sports Follow me on: Email🌻 Bookbub 🌻 Twitter🌻 Instagram🌻 Blog🌻 Facebook🌻 Amazon 🌻
2 ⭐⭐ - Meh! =============== Zeroine never told him about their son in the countless opportunities she had. She deprived her son of having contact with Zero's family and having a relationship with grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. It was selfish of her. Zero is an immature and with the depth of a saucer. Boring...
Touch Screen by LB Dunbar I received this book from the author for an honest review. *Wipes nose on my sleeve* LB Did it again. *Hiccups* I am ugly crying and can’t stop. *sobs more* I loved this series and am a hot mess after this book!! *Deep breath in and out* Ok so let’s talk about Gavin and Britton. They have this summer fling every year for 5 summers. They are happy to be together and spend every second they can together over the summers. They try to stay in contact through the school year but at the younger ages its tougher. As they get older Gavin is in college and Britton is in High School so demands are different. Gavin left his small town to go after his dreams of being a star. He comes home for a film festival and sees Britton with a little boy. He needs to see her and talk to her but fate keeps them apart until he finally gets to talk to her. The chemistry is there and we can feel it. Gavin is unhappy with his life but once he sees Britton he NEEDS to reconnect with her and her son is an adorable addition. Now as the book progresses, we the readers, make some A + B = OMG moments before our boy Gavin can make them. All I can say is when the secrets are revealed I was snot sobbing…I am crying now rethinking about an important line in the book…..all these secrets are killing Gavin but then his Mum’s Cancer causes a big side story line and we are even more on pins and needles. Gavin had always been about him and what he wanted. He never really cared about what others wanted or needed so when he gets served a big dose of humble pie by his mum, dad and sister he really is a mess. Britton is such a strong girl who has loved Gavin her entire life. She knows he is only back for a fling but her heart won’t let her NOT be with him for as long as he will be back at home. In typical fashion, LB lets us meet up with the other couples in the series. We get to hang out with Emily and Jess for their wedding. We see Ethan and Ella falling even more in love, if possible. We get to see Jacob going alpha male all over preggo Pam which made my heart happy!!! I love this series and cannot wait for more. I think every book I declare as my favorite and this one is my new favorite for sure. I think this one is the one that made me cry the longest and hardest…so be warned. It’s a 10 tissue rating!!
Gavin Scott once left Elk Lake City, his family, his friends and the sommer girl he fell in love with to escape his hometown and make a career as a Baseball player. But he could never forget Britton and the love they shared. Years later and after changing careers from professional ball player to filmmaker he returns to his hometown to attend a film festival.
As a girl Britton spent her sommers at her uncle's house in Elk Lake City, where she also met Gavin. While Gavin left Britton and never looked back, Britton had to give up her dream of getting a dancer, got married, lost her husband to cancer and her beloved uncle and his wife. For three years she and her son are back in town, living in her uncle's house and trying to make a good life for her son. She opened her own business, a small tea shop and tries to enjoy life. Until Gavin is back in town and tries everything to reconcile.
View With Your Heart is the last book in The Heart Collection and as every other book in this series it is beautifully written. L.B. Dunbar really knows how to make you laugh and cry and swoon every time she brings words to paper (or my kindle). She describes small town life so idyllic, I want to live in a small town myself. Her stories and her characters are always realistic. I can't get enough. The scenery, the people - she creates a world where I want to be a part of, every time. I'm really sad, that our journey with the people from Elk Lake City is over and I can't wait for what's next. 😍
I have read most of the works by LB Dunbar and with each book the creativity and story development keeps getting better. Touch Screen is no exception. Since I first read Taste Test, I have been pulled into the Scott family and their close knit community. Gavin Scott had been made reference to in previous stories, but in this book he is home in all his glory. I love that Ms. Dunbar keeps the reader abreast of the happenings in the lives of all her beloved characters from the previous books in the series. The characters that the author creates are multilayered and so well developed you truly feel as if you know them. Like most men Gavin is flawed, a point that his sister and others do not fail to point out to him. I love the flashbacks being told in the form of a movie script or storyboard, a clever device to pull the reader into Gavin's movie world.
Gavin returns home after seven years to premiere his first movie. Having left to pursue his dreams of making films, Gavin not only left his disapproving father, he left the rest of his family and friends. Returning for the film festival and his best friend's wedding, he rekindles his passion for his high school summer love. Finding that she has a small child, Gavin finds himself drawn not only to Britton but her son. While he may be a brilliant film maker, Gavin needs a slap upside the head on repeated occasions in this book. I truly don't think I can say much more without dealing out major spoilers. I loved this book; I laughed, I cried and I sighed. Rated S for sexy and as in the movies, the final reel is worth the wait.
Touch Screen by LB Dunbar 5 Stars Received in exchange for an honest review
Holy Wow! Gavin Scott is somkin”! Gavin and Brittion were high school summer lovers in Elk Rapids where Gavin lived and Brittion visited her uncle each summer of high school. After 7 years of being in California Gavin returns to his home town for a film festival and sees Brittion with her son Gee. What Gavin doesn’t expect is to have the same feelings for her that he had then, especially since he has a girlfriend at home. As the spend time together over the course of the two weeks he his home, secrets of the past are revealed and we are left questioning if the secrets are too much for love to overcome. I have loved LB’s writing from the very beginning and was so excited for this release…she did not disappoint, I loved every second of it. We were introduced to the new characters of Gavin and Brittion and were able to check in one our favorites from early stories. It was overall an amazing read and I look forward to more.
Gavin Scott left for California to follow his dream of making movies and to escape his small town home. He returned home after 7 years for the premiere of his first indie movie at the film festival in a nearby town. Gavin is also reunited with the woman who was his teenage summertime sweetheart, Britton McKay. Gavin remains in town to attend a friend's wedding and has his world is turned upside down when a secret is finally revealed. This is an amazing story. The characters are wonderful and are vividly described so that you really feel like you know them, faults and all. The story is well written and captivating with some amusing moments as well as a few teary eyed ones. I especially enjoyed how the flashbacks were done, keeping with the movie theme. This is definitely one of those must read books!
*****Warning this book will make you emotional*** I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I loved this book. It was beautifully written as well as an awesome story. I found myself feeling the emotions of the Characters. So get your tissues ready. I also felt happiness, so it is not all sad.
Gavin returns to his hometown after seven years of being away, trying to escape a disapproving father. While back at home for his best friend's wedding and film festival, Britton and him rekindle their passion for each other. But there is an extra person that Gavin falls in love with, and that is Britton's son. I am not going to say much more than that because I don't want to give away any spoilers. Did I find anything wrong with this book? No, I didn't. Would I recommend this book? Yes, definitely.
let me start out by saying I love me some LB Dunbar!!! she is such a gifted wrighter. she pulls you into the book by making the characters real and dealing with real situations that you or someone you know has been through. the love the pain the happy times. you feel it all in her books!! you cry and laugh and sometimes throw things. and Touch Screen is no different. (no spoilers) but Gavin made Me laugh made me cry and made me want to smack the crap out of him on more then one occasion. Britton is sweet and has been through a lot and sacrificed a lot all for a very good reason I might add. I bawled like a baby in this book. and I wouldn't have it any other way. on March 3rd one click this book without thinking!! I promise you will not regret it
thank you LB Dunbar and please never give up. you turley are amazing!!!!!
What can I say? LB Dunbar writes beautifully. I love the gentle pace of the story unfolding. The descriptions of the lake, farm and town are beautifully painted. Many of the background characters we have met in previous stories, but Gavin, having been away from Elk Rapids for an extended period of time, we don't know too much about at the start., having returned for the film festival and Jess and Emily's wedding. We are also introduced to Britton. We get to know more about Gavin and Britton both through the current storyline and the wonderfully written 'scenes', the flashbacks Gavin has. Written from Gavins POV. This is a wonderful, touching, second chance love story, reuniting the young lovers. Oh, and tears, definitely lots of tears. ARC given by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Holy cow! I am ashamed to say that this is the first book of LB’s that I have read and I am currently asking myself, why? Gavin and Britton’s story was phenomenal. This book evoked so many emotions that I was floored at how skillfully written these characters were. I was not sure if I wanted to punch Gavin or take him out for a beer. While I cannot say that I completely agree with Britton’s decision regarding their son, I can say that I do understand why she handled things the way that she did. This touching story is written with an emotionally heaviness and underlying wit that pulls all of the characters and their situations into a wonderfully written story that will anxiously turning the page hoping that it will all turn out how you are hoping in the end.
I loved everything about this book except George Carpenter. He's such a slimy bastard.
But seriously, I have so deeply enjoyed following the Scott and Carter families through this series. The stories just get better and I'm so glad Gavin was given a HEA because he truly was not happy at the beginning of his story. Absolutely recommend this book (and all the others).
I love everything about my visits to Elk Lake City, I love meeting new characters as well as catching up with the other residents of this wonderful town. I was excited for Gavin and Britton’s story and it was everything I expected and so much more. Gavin Scott walked away from the town and Britton to make a career playing baseball but an injury has him going in a different direction and he finds himself back in his hometown, what he didn’t expect was Britton to still be there and for the feelings he had for her to come flooding back. Britton gave up her dream of becoming a dancer, got married and ended up back in Elk Lake City looking after her aunt and uncle. She is struggling to make a new life for her and her son Gee and when Gavin walks back not town it feels like this is the final straw...... This is the final book in the Heart Collection and for me it’s the perfect story to end this wonderful series on. It’s an entertaining read that will touch you on so many levels, I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I sighed as I watched Gavin, Britton and Gee finding the HEA they all deserved. This author really knows how to give us wonderful small town romances with characters we easily relate and fall in love with so I guess all I need to say is please one click this gem of a read.
Second chance romance. Older couple. I really like secret baby/ child troupe but it has to be a good reason for not telling the Hero. She does try, sort of but I wasn't thoroughly convinced. When he returns she tries a couple of times and they get interrupted. Both been with others during their 13 year separation.
Spoiler..
He was known as a player. He felt differently about her but didn't explain before a misunderstanding causes them to split up. It was a temporary relationship due to circumstances. She lives near his family but he isn't close with them and didn't see them when he had met with her so she doesn't want to expose that to his family. He never returned home after leaving the heroine all those years ago.
“She lied to me,” I blurt. “Did she?” “She withheld the truth. She should have told me the second she saw me here.” “Because you’re so stable and you’ll stick around.” Ethan’s sharp words hurt. “F*** you, man.” “The truth hurts, doesn’t it?” he adds. “But sometimes, it’s for your own good.” “Lying to me wasn’t for my good,” I remind him. “Nope, I’m thinking she did that for Gee. She doesn’t want you hurting him because you’ll leave.”
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. HEA.

5 Star Review View With Your Heart (Heart Collection #5) by L B Dunbar
I believe that this book was previously published as Touch Screen, Sensations Collection #4. I couldn’t wait to to find out what L.B.Dunbar had in store for Gavin Scott and Britton McKay. Gavin left his small town years ago and had no plans to return until fate plays a part and suddenly he finds himself back home with the possibility of a second chance at love. I love stories centred in small towns, it has quickly become one of my favourite story lines, add in that Britton is a single mum to her son Gee and I was hooked. The chemistry between Gavin and Britton sizzles and when they finally gave in to the re-ignited passion that flares between them it was intense. Sometimes decisions are made that effects the course of your life and ramifications can be extreme. The story was well written, the characters strong and this was a heartwarming, romantic love story of forgiveness and second chances and one I enjoyed. It was also good to see some familiar faces make an appearance.
I am so sad to see the end of this series. It had to happen eventually, but sad nonetheless. Gavin Scott, former pro baseballer turned filmaker and Britton McKay, TeasMe! owner, fell in love as teens and reconnected 13 years ago. He hasn't been back in Elk Lake City since then. So, color Gavin surprised when he finds out Britton has moved to town with her 12-year-old son. Their attraction is still there. It's hard to get rid of feelings for your first love, the one you let get away. Britton has lost everyone she's loved and cared for and is trying to make the best of everything for her son. But she has a secret and when Gavin finds out, I was a little afraid he wouldn't forgive her, but this LB... she doesn't disappoint in the HEA department. This story tells a lot about trust and confidence, forgiveness and moving on, loss (OMG... the ugly cry on this loss) and healing. I'm sad that these characters will no longer grace the insides of my kindle with their adventures and stories of love.
I received and advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.
As teenagers Gavin and Britton fell in love until he chose to leave his hometown to pursue his dream of playing baseball professionally. An injury changed the direction of his life and years later he finds himself back in his hometown for a film festival but he is about to find out that even though a lot of things have changed that doesn’t include his feelings for Britton.
When Gavin left town Britton’s plan for the future took a detour and since that time she has endured more than her fair share of loss. She has created a home and business for herself and her son and isn’t about to have her heart broken by Gavin for the second time.
The chemistry and connection between them hasn’t diminished over time but a secret from the past may derail their future before it really begins.
I have loved all the books in this series but meeting Britton & Gavin their story just pulls on the heartstrings just a little bit more. A story that spans twenty years, a young girl meets the boy of her dreams in the movies and life would never be the same. People grow, life separates you for all kinds of reasons but when that person comes back into your life can you find a reason to start again. Britton has seen so many changes in her life, a business to call her own, a son that she so adores and a home she will do whatever it takes to keep, But Gavin Scott is a question with the hardest answer to make. Gavin Scott always had a dream of leaving behind his hometown, his family and everything else, but when his life takes a different direction he is put right back into his past but can he make that his future too. There is so much history between Britton & Gavin, is it worth the risk to put yourself out there again or leave it in the past, thinking there might be a reason to take the chance you can’t help wonder if they can find that HEA finally after twenty year.
Talk about a small town second chance romance that will hit you RIGHT in the feels! When Gavin Scott returns home for the first time in YEARS he is smacked in the face with a LOT of things that he missed, one of them being his first love.
This book shows how hard it can be going home, but might be just what Gavin needs in his life. It broke my heart and then filled it up in other parts- I definitely am a fan! I give it 4 outta 5 stars and really enjoyed reading it. If you like small town and second chance romances- check it out now!
PS: Thank you to LB Dunbar and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly.
The books in this series keep getting better and better.
I really liked both Gavin and Brit. Their love was sweet and hot, exactly how I like my romances.
The story was anything but simple. There were so many layers as more and more was revealed. Gee was amusing with his silly jokes, and it was great to see he and Gavin bonding.
Anyone that knows me knows that I absolutely adore LB and anything she writes but as with the movies when you hear that there is a 3rd, 4th and especially a 5th sequel you get worried that it will be repetitive and that you won't love it as much as the first 2 but that is not the case here. The way LB weaves her tales is magical. She pulls you in right from the very first chapter, giving the right amount of detail about everything and everyone without going into too much detail as some authors tend to do. You can honestly envision the the way the town and places within the town are set up and what they look like, you can feel the way the characters felt when things were happening to them and you can picture yourself in the town with these people going to these places. Everything is just so realistic that you feel that it could be your town.
We have heard about Gavin since the very first book in the series. The son who went away against his fathers wishes and hasn't been back since. We've been curious about Gavin as little snippets about him have been told through the other 3 books but we really get to know him in this one.
This story is about summer love, teenage angst, coming of age and finally coming home. Not home as to where you live but where you belong. Gavin and Britton met when he was 15 and she was 13 while she was staying with her uncle one summer. When Gavin set his eyes on Britton he was a goner and just had to meet her and thus began their summer romance that lasted for 5 summers until he left to go back to college and never came back. When he finally comes home after 7 years to premiere his film for the towns film festival he catches a glimpse of Britton on the beach with a little boy and is transformed back to when they were teenagers. Although he has a girlfriend back in California he can't help but seek out Britton as if she is the moon he needs to follow to find his way home. When he finds out that she has a son he can't help but be drawn to this little ball of energy as much as he is his mother.
As most men are at 27 Gavin is selfish, confused and clueless to things that are staring him right in the face. Will Britton and Gavin be able to forgive each other and again find the passion that they had for each other during those long ago summers or will Gavin return to his old life in California? Well now you will have to read Touch Screen to find out. ;)
All of the books in The Sensations Collection are stand alones but they really should be read together so you can meet all of the wonderful characters that together form the Scott and Carter families. Whether it's writing small town love or rock star love, LB does not disappoint and she has quickly become my go to one click author for anything she writes.
Another hit in the Sensations Collection by L.B. Dunbar. I know that I say it in all of my reviews of this series but I am so glad that randomly responded to a post on Facebook about reviewing the first book in this Series, Sound Advice, because I have loved each book since even more than the first. I hope there is more to come from this series as well as the others that L.B. is working on. I loved that I have gotten to read every book by this author and I have got to watch her growth as a writer and I LOVE her style.
Okay so now about Touch Screen, I am not going to give away the best kept secret, but this book is a MUST read! I really enjoyed that it is told solely from Gavin's POV, I love that it wasn't a rushed story and that the author took her time and pulled the right emotions from you at the right times. I felt the confusion that Gavin was feeling and his conflicting feelings of wanting his life in California and trying to figure out how he can also want to be back home. I enjoyed getting to witness Britton and Gavin getting to know each other again, and what I loved the most is that Gee was always involved with whatever they would do and that Gavin was so easily accepting of Britton and her situation with Gee.
I really liked that Britton is such a strong and independent woman who made a decision that was selfless and put Gavin's wants before hers, even though her decision was a no brainer. I liked her character and her willingness to do any and everything for everyone else, but when it was time she did make a stand to protect herself and her child. I love a good strong female character and Britton is definitely that.
Gavin Scott, is now my most favorite of the series, it used to be Jess, but Gavin's character made a bigger transformation. When we first meet Gavin he is a bit self centered and everything is only about how it can benefit him or his career. I hate the shallow relationship that he was in at the beginning, but what I loved the most is that he realized, mostly on his own, what a toxic relationship it was and ended it. I always hate when there is that added conflict and tension between the main characters when they are trying to build a relationship and I was happy the Gavin wised up and didn't make the situation anymore difficult.
This is by far the most emotional of the series for me. I knew that eventually the time would come and I would be heartbroken, but the author did such a wonderful job writing those moments that really made me get choked up and misty eyed. This is a beautiful story about finding love again, forgiveness and second chances. I am eager to see if Tricia will her her HEA soon and I look forward to more from L.B. Dunbar.
Another 5 Star read from LB Dunbar. Touch Screen is the forth book in the Sensations Collection but it can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend all of the books in the Sensation Collection. You will not be disappointed.
In Touch Screen we meet Gavin Scott. He left Elk Rapids behind when he left for college. California is his home as he pursues his dream of making movies. He returns to Michigan as his first movie was a featured film of the Traverse City Film Festival. When he returns he sees Britton, his summer love as a teenager. It brings back many memories
"Home? Was that the right work for this area? I felt like a foreigner here and yet I knew this was still my home somehow."
The story is told from Gavin's POV. As Gavin recalls memories of family, friends and summer love he struggles with where home truly is. Highlighted is summer love that does not stand the test of time. However they are given a second chance. Can Gavin and Britton take that second chance and make it work?
LB Dunbar does a great job of writing a story set in a small town and making you feel like you are right there with the Scott and Carter family in Elk Rapids. You will be so invested in the characters that you will cry and laugh right along with them. Jess Carter and Emily Post (Sound Advice) make a appearance in this book as they get married. It was great to see all of the families come together for many festivities in this book. Along with happiness in this story there will be confusion, secrets revealed and heart ache. Make sure you have the tissues handy.
You won't be disappointed in Touch Screen. The angst will keep you turning the pages to see if Gavin and Britton can have a happy ending.
I received a gift copy in exchange for an honest review. Read and Reviewed for Stories and Swag Blog.
The epic story of the Carters and Scotts continues. Now is Gavin's turn.
If you have read the Synopsis, you know Gavin is the prodigal son. After seven years, he is returning home to the Film Festival that features his first feature film and to stay on for his best friend's wedding. He is rather lost once he starts revisiting the old hangouts. Heck! He even feels like a stranger at his parents' home where he was born.
Seven years have passed and a lot has changed. Even little details like his old room is no longer. It is now a generic extra bedrooms, repainted, refurnished, preserving none of the familiar memories. All this time and his father is still the same closed-mouthed, hard working man, who still resents Gavin for passing on his inheritance of the cherry farm and pursuing a career in the film industry. His mother's cancer is also playing havoc. He is shocked at the changes.
But all these changes cannot prepare him when he meets his teenage sweetheart Britton. She is unmarried but with a 6 year old child. Old memories and feelings will not stay hidden. He is drawn to her. He is a man now with a man's feelings. There is no way he can leave before exploring and re-assessing what's become of their relationship.
The story is told from Gavin's point of view. His recollections, feelings, and sometimes obtuse deciphering of their situation will draw you in and sometimes make you wish you could whack him on the head. He is in denial, sometimes still the selfish teenager at heart that he used to be. He is somewhat unable to see what is right in front of his eyes and accept it.
I am a fan of this author's writing. Her characters are so human, full of foibles, tender and strong, fighting for their dreams and sometimes fighting for that elusive forever love.
Ok, if I can wrap my mind around this and stop crying. Yes you will cry and for many reasons. So tissues ladies and lots of them.
LB you always seem to blow me away. I love all your books but Sound Advice was very dear to me. Yet, you have managed to make it a tie. This book will speak to you in so many levels. I loved the pov. It's always so much more touching when you see a relationship through the guy's eyes. Gavin had it all. He made you love him, hate him, worry for him, but most of all hope for him.
To see the connections between the characters, the weak links that grew stronger with every chapter. The need to want to figure it out, but allowing yourself to take this journey with him. You could see what he saw, the details intertwined wonderfully. I loved that LB used his passion for directing and films to tell you about his past and what the outcomes came from it. Using the director point of view for Gavin as he travelled to the past was just wonderfully portrayed.
I myself couldn't help but jump towards my on past and wonder if I would have done things differently. We all have moments we wish we could change, but that's what make growing up to find your path a great journey. Or in this case a wonderful storyline for a movie about us. Gavin had the best film idea in his own personal life. He just had to look closer and embrace it.
I loved the reference to second chances. It's rare to get them, and we always need someone else to point it out to us to embrace it. This book will definitely leave a mark in your heart.
