Jane Macelvey is a genius bioengineer. Her first human guinea pig is also the one person who has any chance of keeping her alive against all the secret government agencies and private corporations that are after her. He is the first Nano Man. He has no idea what he can do, and neither does she.

But one thing is certain, the special interests closing in on them have their own nexgen human prototypes, and they know exactly what they can do. They also recognize that the first to market with their prototype wins. For that reason and that reason alone, the Nano Man must be eliminated at all costs. Budget no object.

While action-packed sci-fi/techno-thrillers set in the near future are my forte, I also stray into other genres from time to time, such as space operas, paranormal fantasy, and detective stories. All my novels can be described as action-thrillers, no matter the sub-genre.

You can sample my writing with a free sci-fi e-book set in the near future by visiting my website https://deancmoore.com and signing up for my email list.

I live in the country where I breed bluebirds, which are endangered in these parts, as my small contribution to restoring nature's balance. When I'm not writing, or researching my next book, I may also be found socializing with friends, or working in the garden.

If you'd like to know what compels me to write, it's simple. I write as a force for peace. Fiction has a way of engaging our whole minds, not just our intellects, but various layers of our conscious, superconscious, and unconscious. Novels also encourage our left and right cerebral hemispheres to get in sync and, with just enough magic and wizardry, can help to transform people into more enlightened souls (the writer included) better than a hundred years of therapy or rational arguments to the same ends.

I've remained a lifelong student of philosophy, spirituality, psychology, science, and the arts.

Mark Freeman Enterprises (MFE) is my company. I sometimes publish under that label or simply under Amazon Digital Services.

This is another sensational Cyberpunk novel from the very talented and prolific Mr Moore. This book has everything, a brilliant imagined future, a sassy and intelligent heroine, and a turbocharged storyline.
I don’t like spoilers in reviews so all I will say is that there are far from philanthropic forces at play in the shape of a ruthless government and giant corporations in the robotics field, all vying with the other to manufacture the perfect product. Juxtaposed with these forces is Jane, a well-regarded bioengineer, and Nano Man, a hugely successful human experiment; too successful, as it turns out.
Nano Man is as determined as The Terminator but Mr Moore’s imagination, it seems, no knows bounds, adding the very successful element of shapeshifting to Nano Man’s armoury. This heightens the tension and suspense. Added to the Cyberpunk are excellent elements of action-adventure, classic sci-fi and fantasy, and this mixing of genres, together with the twists and turns in the narrative, especially the explosive one at the end, make for a thrilling read. As always, Mr Moore is nothing less than professional in the execution of his craft, his prose being a delight to read.
What transpires will blow your mind. If you think dystopian novels paint a bleak future for humans, it’s nothing to what Mr Moore has conceived. It’s difficult to fathom how he comes up with his technological worlds, which in some ways mirror the worst police states of the last century, but he obviously has his finger firmly on the pulse of what is achievable scientifically in the future, and sprinkles his magic dust to make it believable. Is Mr Moore surreptitiously developing something like Nano Man in his basement? It wouldn’t surprise me!
“Jane watched on the monitor as the nanite, no more than an elaborate assemblage of peptides itself, manipulated the complex protein molecule until it found a configuration it liked, just like playing with a Rubik’s cube, albeit one at the microscopic scale. The nanobot then released its creation to do what it was designed to do, infiltrate the cell.”
There is great character development here, as well as splashes of humour, and this together with the huge amount of detail makes this a five-star treat not to be missed. Highly recommended!

Nano Man is set in a futuristic world where robotics and nano-technology have taken over, a place where corporate greed and an obsession to rule the world have led some powerful individuals to go to unthinkable lengths just to see their not-so-noble-ends met.

Most characters are interesting and relatable. Others I would have liked to see more of. But one thing’s for sure, characters in Nano Man are well-developed overall. That’s all I can say about this particular theme without giving too much away.

The love story that develops between Jane and Mike—the two lead characters—amidst conspiracies and assassination attempts, happens in a most unconventional yet charming, intelligent, and most of all, witty way. Some of the scenes between these two had me busting a rib in laughter.

The book is fast-paced and action-packed, yet at the same time Nano Man is filled with witty passages that help break the tension and give the reader a breather while projectiles go flying and deafening blasts roar all over the place.

The book I believe is meant to be fun, action-packed read; it reminded me of some good spy thrillers I’ve read in my time, such as Robert Ludlum’s The Matarese Circle and the Bourne Trilogy.

Also, despite taking place in a futuristic world filled with technological wonders, everything is explained to the reader in the simplest terms. You don’t have to be a computer or technology geek to understand and enjoy this book.

Despite the presence of tech stuff all over the place, Nano Man is still appealing to human nature in the end. That is a very delicate balance that the author was able to pull off in admirable fashion.

Some passages were a bit confusing and felt rushed. Hence the reason why I give Nano Man four stars. Author Dean C. Moore dives straight into the action, but he might be sacrificing some detail and exposure in the process.

There were also points in the story where I felt that the relationship between the two main characters was a bit on the juvenile side, and many of their antics defy the boundaries of suspension of disbelief. That being said, these problems were only minor nuisances that did not take away from my enjoyment of Nano Man in general.

I believe these details can be easily corrected through a minor revision that could make Nano Man an even better, more enjoyable read. I also believe that the book’s premise is so smart and well-developed that this alone helps the book overcome the shortcomings mentioned above.

Although I admit that I may be biased, because Nano Man touches upon many subjects that I also touch upon in my own writing, this book grabs you right off the bat and it doesn’t let go. Personally, I look forward to reading more of author Dean C. Moore’s work. Once you’ve given Nano Man a chance, I believe you’ll agree with me.

This is a novel that brings a whole new meaning to Miranda’s famous line, “Brave New World” in the bard’s final play, and by the time we hear them uttered near the end of this gripping science fiction tale they couldn’t be more fitting.

Nano Man wasn’t quite the novel I was expecting. I had something more akin to Generator Rex in mind before I started but it is in fact a non-stop, action based sci-fi thriller, one with a very high body count indeed.Due to corporate espionage and their infiltration of cyborgs and AI sentiences, the very fabric of society changes around us until the characters find themselves living in “a turncoat world where anyone is reprogrammable on a dime.”

Despite a multiple cast, human and cyborg alike, A great deal of the tale centres on an initially one armed super soldier and master of disguise and Jane, a scientist and inventor. Moore creates an interesting dynamic between the two (especially as her protector/partner's unpleasant back story is revealed) and their conversations often verge on dark comedy, especially when they take place during violent episodes. We’re roughly a fifth of the way into the novel before the Nano Man plot line kicks in but already we’re in the middle of a maelstrom of murder and intrigue that expands to go beyond a simple dual protagonist story and doesn’t let up right until the end.

As with all of Dean C. Moore's works, this is a hugely entertaining and thought provoking work stuffed full of enough characters and plot points to span a whole series of books.

An easy 5 stars

This is an amazing Cyberpunk novel, written by someone who makes the unbelievable seem completely normal! The story moves at a frenetic pace with wonderful and intelligent descriptions of a life in the future populated by robots, who can impersonate humans but with all the added benefits of advanced technology. They are faster, cleverer and sexier!
The production of these robots is big business and the fierce competition between the major manufacturers is at the heart of the story. It is the equivalent of a nuclear arms race updated to the future.
Both Michael, the first Nano man and Jane, the brilliant engineer, are very engaging characters. The writing is high quality with some sharp wit in places.
The imaginative world the author delivers, requires very little suspension of disbelief given the direction technology is moving. I imagine the author is somehow a combination of a complex engineering genius and a very literary writer, which is a very rare mixture! Or perhaps he just has an amazing imagination.
This is now the third book I have read by this author and all have been excellent reads. I look forward to reading number four!

When I buy a book by Dean C. Moore I know I am in for the adventure of a lifetime. Nano Man delivers that and so much more. When technology becomes too big too fast, who knows what might happen? Dean C. Moore does! We have companies fighting companies to be the first to get ahead in AI in robots, but their is something else even better for people to be investing in, human enhancement using nanobots. Now you have robots, half robots, humans and enhanced humans all in a race to more or less rule the world. I loved the characters in this book and felt by the end I knew each one personally. I love that about this author, the character development runs hand in a hand with an amazing story I couldn't put down. The author has combined science fact with science fiction in a novel that will make you wonder just how close we really are to discovering and using the technology found in the pages of this amazing story. I like the humor the author added with a bit of wry romance that makes this a story readers are going to find intriguing to say the least.

“Nano Man” by Dean C More is unlike any book I’ve read. An intelligent play on Artificial Intelligence and robot culture it is pitched perfectly in the twilight of human robots and robotic humans.
Owing as much to science as to science fiction, a thriller and an intelligent read this book has a lot going for it: A fascinating subject, great characters, originality and excellent entertainment.
The central story involves a bioengineer and her experimental prototype, the Nano Man, whose existence soon comes under threat. If you like science fiction with substance and skilled writing this one is for you.

NANO MAN is the first instalment in Dean C Moore’s NANO MAN sci-fi thriller.

Told from third person perspective NANO MAN follows bioengineer Jane Macelvey as she is stalked by a number of assassins for who she is, and what she has developed.

Jane Macelvey has developed a nanite serum, using herself as a test subject then injecting into former US solider Michael Murphy, creating a nexgen prototype cyborg, more advanced than anyone or anything known to man. On the run, Jane and Michael must stay ahead of the government organizations, tech companies, a powerful Android named Serena, and special interest groups including Gunther, the man, who ten years earlier, introduced the world to the age of robotics. Believing himself to be a god in the world of robotics, Gunther has set into motion an android war between cybernetic powerhouses but all does not go according to plan as Jane Macelvey’s nano technology and her nanites are evolving, gaining knowledge and power, such that the power of the cybornetic beings that are now Jane and Michael, have quite possibly destroyed the world as they know it. As Gunther ushers in a new world order of the Singularity, he begins to replace the people in power with androids, robots and cybernetic organisms.

NANO MAN is a complex, detailed and elaborate story of cyborgs, robots, androids, AI and the fallible human capabilities of understanding. From sentient androids to the ever evolving hive-minded cyborgs, the knowledge and power gained is beyond comprehension for the human brain. Dean C Moore pulls the reader into a fantastic and roller coaster journey reminiscent of I, Robot™ and Ex-Machina™, Terminator™, The Machine™ , Westworld™ and Star Trek’s™ ‘the Borg’.

Never a spoiler in my reviews, let me start by relaying that this is not a genre that I would normally read, but since I was offered a copy for the express purpose of providing an honest review (good or bad) I felt compelled to accept the challenge for both this book and the next in the series. I am SO HAPPY that I did. In one word, this book is AMAZING! Well written in a way that is easy for anyone to read and absorb, it explores areas that just plain boggle the mind. This book offers a look at what the future might hold in the quest of major corporations to embrace world dominance.

This is without a doubt a Sci Fi masterpiece even for those who are not or didn't think they were sci-fi fans. This story is believable and infused with humor, wit and just overall, cleverly written and may I add by no means dry and boring.

So, from a former non-sci-fi fan and to sum it up succinctly, an entertaining read that is completely enjoyable and draws the reader in from beginning to end. Take the chance, and just so you know, I'm excited to start the next book in the series now.

I thought this story was hilarious to read. It is on the edge of the future were the tech is just ahead of where we are now with its super solders really nex-gen. It was over the top with action, danger, intrigue and a tech race with some wild wild scenes. Just a riot to read and both believable and yet not at the same time. Loved Jane and Mike and their race to stay alive from everyone out to get them. And the characters were wild and crazy and many soulless and out to win it all. Had to keep reading to see what craziness and insanity would pop up next.

An excellent futre story involving robots and nano tech. Humor and romance Adam and Eve (Michael and Jane) style and plenty of action and intrigue and action between competing corporations. A long read but once into it, you will not realize the time it takes to read.

I really can’t praise this book highly enough; as a lifelong fan of science fiction, and having read some of the all-time greats – Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke to name but two - I’m not easily pleased when it comes to this genre but here we have a rollercoaster blend of hard sci-fi, almost non-stop action, plots and conspiracy, all interwoven with absolutely loads of fun and humour. It would be impossible to describe entirely the mix of characters, but suffice to say it includes power and wealth hungry businessmen all hell bent on world domination, cyber/human hybrids, regular robots (if there is such a thing), shape-shifting nano- technology super-humans, and a host of others, including a lovely female robot with a deadly inferiority complex; anyone expecting an Asimov style of robots will be pleasantly taken by surprise, as the ones here most certainly do not obey the three laws of robotics!

The book starts off quite conventionally, with one of the robots chatting away with various humans, demonstrating his abilities. The reader quickly gathers that there are hidden agendas behind, but it does take quite a while for the wider picture to emerge. This is quite a substantial read, and it does require the reader’s full attention to keep up with what’s going on. If I had bit one criticism I would have liked the action between Mike and Jane, and their pursuers toned tone just a tad, as I did think that even for a Science fiction novel, that I had to suspend my disbelief just a bit too much, though this opinion might well be due to my being more used to more conventional or traditional science fiction.

In a nutshell, what we have are a number of evil corporations, all hoping their particular robot/hybrids will become the dominant product in their bids to dominate the world as humans upgrade to cyber enhanced robot bodies. Alongside this there’s also a rival corporation with an entirely different agenda that would rather have everyone uploaded to something akin to a blissful Matrix type world. Thankfully there are two heroes in the shape of Mike and Jane, the former an ex super soldier, now even more enhanced thanks to some very strange nanonite implants, and alongside him, Jane, a brilliant scientist, also enhanced with said nanonites. You can’t helped but be gripped as you follow their journey as they’re hunted by an assorted collection of robots and regular soldiers, all seeking to destroy them; how they deal with this, and the romantic interaction between Mike and Jane will have the reader in stitches at times. I think it prudent to mention at this point that there is some highly comical sex scenes and mildly sexual content, but all within the humorous context of the book. Another example of the book’s humour is clearly illustrated when a military killer robot is trying to destroy another whilst at the same time force feeding donuts into a woman’s mouth, when he notices a another woman writing up a book review on goodreads, and quite casually recommends a book by none other than the author, Dean C. Moore, and later on, yet another robot saying how he must stock up on Dean C. Moore’s eBook steampunk for a coming journey – priceless!

All in all, an exciting action filled book, lots of speculative technology and some more familiar sci-fi themes, all combined with some subtle, and often, not so subtle humour – a great read.

What a thrilling read!
The near future is uncertain, what will the digital revolution bring? Or maybe it's a biological revolution or both of them? Cyborg, robot, human, trans-human, hybrid human, it's all happening in this fine read.
Unlikely couple Jane and Mike try to stay alive, change the world and learn to be in a human relationship all at once.
I laughed, cheered, was horrified, cried and was stunned by the insight and wisdom:
"This is what tearing each other down does to people," he said gesturing. "It creates every form of cognitive impairment imaginable, starting with low self-esteem and trailing into faulty memory, until our minds are nothing more than a temple of doom."

Nano Man by Dean C. Moore

I am reviewing this book on a read-to-review basis.

The Nano Man is a book in its own element. I have never read a cyborg/humanoid/robot novel with so much detail and scientific background. Dean C. Moore MUST work in this industry. He had me believing he did anyway. That was the extent of information in here.

This is a great read for anyone heavily into their science fiction. I will go a step further with authentic science fiction also. This doesn't mean it's a dry read. There is humour regularly spaced throughout the book.

I loved Selena, I thought she was hilarious and, on this note, I commend the author on sticking to the impersonal, logical voices of the robots. I didn't notice any inconsistencies in this at all and this was one of the best parts for me. Though many of the characters are emotionally detached, the author manages to get the reader to warm to them as well(no small feat either).

For me, a slight cut down on the lengthy dialogue scenes and more hype put around the CATASTROPHICALLY UNEXPECTED twist at the end would have gotten this a five. I have to say I felt a little flat after finishing because of the ending. But them the breaks! Some of the relationships were unusual, but somehow they worked well in this novel when combined with the 'emotional detachment' I mentioned above.

Overall a good read and perfect for a lover of science fiction.

I love science fiction. I’ve been reading it ever since discovering ‘Childhood’s End’, Arthur C. Clarke’s apocalyptic vision of the future, at the age of eleven. The idea of robots and A.I. transcending human development is one that has excited and terrified all of us ever since the Singularity became a distinct possibility. We already have much of the nanotechnology described in this novel. Dean C. Moore has taken the concept that bit further and created the most incredible kaleidoscopic adventure ride out of it. I loved this novel for that reason. It is clever, funny, fast-paced and utterly improbable... or is it? Interweaving a complex plot and a cast of equally complex characters, blurring the lines between robot and human, the book throws up important questions about where the future is heading, as well as offering an intriguing story full of sub-plots. One thing that stands out is the author’s wit and humour. It is this that makes the sometimes unlikely scenarios a little easier to imagine. At times it was all a bit too much, especially when it came to scenes of violence, and I felt I needed to take a break from it, so in that sense it didn’t engage me as much as it might otherwise have done. For that reason only I’m giving the novel 4 stars – but I nevertheless highly recommend it, and will read anything else by Dean C. Moore with confidence. He is definitely an accomplished writer to watch.

The name Nano Man tells you everything you need to know before you read the book. This is a cyber-punk adventure that is filled with technological elements that will make you think about what's really possible. The author's description of the androids is so life-like that they can even replace people without anyone being none the wiser.

Our heroine is Jane Macelvey and she finds herself in trouble with the government. I'm going to to say much because this story is deep and i highly recommend if you're interested that you grab the title yourself. You'll be rewarded as you follow along with Jane on a story that shows you just what these androids can do.

I'll be the first to say, the whole techno-punk thing isn't my normal genre, but I'm so glad I took a chance with this book. Mr. Moore is very inventive and creative with his writing and in this setting it really shines.

Poltical sabotage, corporate spying, assassination, replicating humans with robots, it's all here in one heck of a ride. Excellent read and an eye opening experience.

Dean C. Moore’s fantasy novel Nano Man offers a dystopian future where human and robots interact, and in some cases where the boundaries between both are fluid. As governments and global corporates fight for supremacy in the development of robots with super fast ‘thinking’ powers and incredible strength - even shape-shifting abilities - top robotics scientist Jane and robot Michael get close. The race and competition for supremacy in this field holds the prize of unbelievable riches and world domination. The story is fast-paced with gains and setbacks for the protagonists and jolting moments of violent action that stretch belief to the limit – but this is fantasy! Right? Yet Moore raises questions about what kind of future society humanity faces as technological advances evolve both people and robots. A fascinating read for both fans of the genre and readers like myself grounded in more ‘realistic’ fiction.

Cyberpunk? My first ever interaction with it and I loved it. Artificial Intelligence at its best. It took me a few chapters to get into but once I did it was a fast paced ride to the end. Why did it take me a while? Simply because I am new to the genre, nothing more. A lot of characters come and go (I particulary liked the Hulk's exit)
Some of the dialogue is tongue in cheek and I chuckled a few times. The author, in a great way, is able to explain in normal language what is going on - none of the unintelligile vernacluar that comes with this sort of genre. Well done Dean C Moore and thank you for an entertaining white knuckle read! It left me breathless!

Wow!
Throw a hatful of genres into a bowl, add next century technology, comic book smart zippy banter, a spoonful of the impossible, a gram of amphetamines and whisk, and keep on whisking!
The dialog is fibre optic fast, but after some genetic enhancement surgery I was able to read it, and then read it over, before I understood that I was on a rollercoaster in a tornado during the blitz.
When the action kicks, punches, shoots, stabs, explodes, rips apart and chews in, we are gifted to a body count greater than Hardcore Henry, and although there are some similarities to the film, Nano Man has far more detail and complexity, and is viewed from a wider, richer choice of angles.
An astute, creative, imaginative chunk, of an ulterior world that I’d rather not be immersed in, but a whirlwind of a read.

Neither our hero or heroine know exactly what the nanotech he has been given will do, but science requires experimentation. Too bad their competitors don't feel the same way.

This is book one of the series, so no worries there.

This is a science fiction story with a nice dose of humor. The story is well written but not always easy to read. There is a lot going on here and sometimes it takes a bit of careful reading to get all the details, particularly in the fight scenes of which there are plenty. Both the setting and characters are well done with nice, and sometimes amusing, details thrown in to bring things to life. All of that supports a fast paced plot with plenty of action. This is a long book, but a very enjoyable one and I look forward to more in the series.

Highly recommended.

I received an ARC from the author for review purposes.

Having read several books by Dean C. Moore I have come to expect a story arc that will be complex and at times feel disjointed, however, he always ties everything together by the end of the book. So, if you are new to Dean’s books be patient and you will be rewarded with an enjoyable experience. Additionally, his characters are always well developed and by the end of the book some will feel like old friends and others will feel just as loathsome as they did at the beginning of the book. Lastly, I know I can reliably rely on Mr. Moore to feed my need for a Sci-Fi techno-thriller fix in a most enjoyable fashion. Nano Man is no exception, the action character and technology in this story not only entertained me but left me wondering just how much of this stuff is currently possible.

Nano Man 1 is brilliant as science fiction in bits and precise. every section has brilliantly written portions especially related to nanite and robots. Having said that I felt that sections miss continuity across. characters appear suddenly. context is not very clear couldn't relate well. I could not put together a complete picture of the plot. till now and slowly losing interest. only that some wonderfully written science technology stuff has stopped me from abandoning the book. I am still hopeful though. I also feel that a prologue would have helped the book. I have read a good number of science fiction thrillers. I will rate nanoman 1 2.5 on a scale of 5.

This is a fast-paced book, with a lot of humour. The speed is breakneck, with quick repartee … as it said in the book … “the whole thing seems to hold together with duct tape, but (it’s) a definite page turner”! It’s a dire look at the future of humanity – hybrid humans, minds uploaded to androids, digital nirvana … hopefully not prescient! Definitely an adult book due to sexual innuendo, and swearing – the swearing is why it was 4 stars rather than five. However, if that doesn’t bother you, consider it a 5! I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.

An amazing, action packed story, with humorous banter throughout. This sci-fi blurs the lines between humans, cyborgs and robots. Nano bots are winning the battle to enhance humans beyond any capabilities thought possible. While the struggle to gain world domination by corporations, all are engaged in chasing down the latest and greatest, at any cost. A thrill ride.

Let me start by saying that I have seldom - perhaps never - encountered a writer whose depth and breadth of imagination matches Dean C. Moore's: His ability to create completely new worlds and believable alternative realities is nothing short of amazing, in my opinion. The fact that his novels are also crammed full of the information that those of us who are not scientists need to comprehend some of the mind-boggling scenarios he creates makes reading his stories all the better.
'Nano Man' is, at first glance, a scary look at the future of out-of-control mega-corporations and governments that will do anything to dominate the world and its people. They are moving ever closer to the day when they will have successfully reprogrammed or replaced everyone capable of dissent and they are doing so in the way that charismatic, power-mad men and women always have: By promising people a new world in which all of their desires will be met. Moore's characterizations of some of the corporate leaders who are racing against one another to make this happen to their exclusive advantage is spot on as are his characterizations of the scientists who obligingly do their bidding in exchange for huge salaries, comfortable lives and plaques on the wall proclaiming how smart they are.
But 'Nano Man' is more than just that: It is a love story as well. Jane, a brilliant scientist, is a long jump ahead of her colleagues when it comes to creating next generation nanites than can turn even ordinary men and women into super beings. Because that's true, she has been marked for elimination by assorted governments and corporations and she is constantly on the run. She, however, has a champion who is working hard to keep her alive even though she does not even, at first, know of his existence. Michael is that champion and they do not, at first, get along well at all. She finds him shallow; he finds her occasionally insufferable. They fall in lust long before they fall in love then go through a period when they can barely stand one another. That changes, however, and when it does some very interesting things happen to their nanite-infected bodies and minds.
Those two elements would be enough for most writers, but Moore has also packed 'Nano Man' with hair-breadth escapes, shoot-outs and hand-to-hand combat to make it an enjoyable adventure story as well.
If you like your science fiction to be something more than weird aliens and spaceships then you'll like 'Nano Man.' It is a novel full of sharp observations about the state of mankind, witty dialogue, interesting discourses on the nature of good and evil and plenty of whiz-bang science that appeals to even those of us who are still writing letters by hand using fountain pens.
I highly recommend it.

Ever since getting hooked on Asimov as a teenager, I’ve been fascinated by stories involving robots and artificial intelligence, so I picked up this book by Dean C. Moore and gave it a try. As far as the subject matter goes, the author has imagined a world far more detailed than anything I’ve read before, brimming with original concepts. The abilities and motivations of the robots, humans and those in-between are explored to an incredible depth, with the ability to enhance oneself with the nanobot technology blurring the distinction between what is human and what is not. Over the course of the book all sorts of new abilities are introduced with the ability to evolve being a key plot point. These abilities are so advanced that you begin to wonder if there’s anything that this technology couldn’t achieve, given time.

There is a large cast of characters, all with different agendas and the plot is pretty complex, so this isn’t a quick read, it requires a lot of investment from the reader. With the stakes high, there are plenty of kill or be killed scenarios. The story verges almost on horror in places as those who get in the way are calmly and emotionlessly despatched, with a body count that puts Terminator to shame. It paints a pretty scary picture of what could happen in the future and I don’t think I’d feel too safe if I was just a standard human living in this world.

Of all the characters, I naturally found myself rooting for Jane and Michael, the two main leads, and between the action sequences there is plenty of comic relief with these two. There’s also more than a hint of romance bubbling under between them, even if it is a strange and unconventional romance compared to our cosy real world imaginings of romance.

If you’re into Cyberpunk stories, I thoroughly recommend giving this a try.

Dean C Moore never fails to amaze me with his innovative storylines and rampant imagination. I can see this as a movie. it's just up my street and has a recipe that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

What is a Nano Man and what can it do? What we learn is that powerful people will do anything to get it, and the young scientist who developes it is running for her life.

You need to buckle up with this. It is edgy, fast paced, and as always, Dean C Moore gets you right inside the characters' heads.
