Alex always said it'd be a cold day in hell before she'd step foot inside the OIO again, and the blizzard conditions outside prove her declaration true. But clipping on the badge doesn't mean taking a seat behind a desk or investigating a crime scene. It means infiltrating a local drug ring led by the city's most ruthless gang, the KXDs. Alex's main goal is to determine the international source of the drugs, but as usual, nothing can ever be that simple.
While working undercover as a junkie stripper, Alex has to defend herself against gangbangers and perverts while convincing Steele, a KXD lieutenant, that she's just a girl willing to do anything to feed her addiction. Steele's demands start out simple, requiring Alex to use her position at the club to pass along product, but soon he wants her to branch out. The situation goes from bad to worse when she hears whispers that a gang war is brewing, and getting in deep enough to uncover the evidence might mean not being able to get out alive.

Dying for a Fix was intense, and extremely good. I loved the heroine, and how she did things, except one thing. I hated how she kept Martin int he dark, it just didn't make sense to me. Other than that, I loved the plot line and how she handled herself and figured things out. And I feel like the cops and feds don't treat her right considering how much she's helped them.
Another suspense filled book that kept me on the edge of my seat. Alex Parker is facing a perilous task again and making me turn the pages to see what happens.
Good storyline, Alexis temporarily rejoins the OIO to go undetcover as a junkie stripper to infiltrate one of the city"s main gangs dealing drugs. Unable to tell Martin her assignment, he believes she is still working security in the private sector. She attracts the attention of the gangs second in command. which gives her access to more info. whilst increasing risk to herself. Lots of tense encounters & some cofusion as other agencies have been working towards bringing down the gang, but haven't shared their doing so with each other. Very good read
Alexis really plays a crucial undercover role in bringing down a cartel, drug gang boss etc all by posing as a woman dying for a fix. This was non stop action and at times I was afraid of the scary situation she found herself in. Alex and Martin are are at risk as well but all ends well at least for now. Can't wait for the next one. If you have not read this series ,you are in for a real treat.
I began reading this series with book one and the characters got my attention. However, as the series progressed the continual back and forth of Parker’s indecision about her career became tiresome and overshadowed the plot lines of the books until the point where they were lost in the constant angst of the main character’s indecision about her career choice. I vowed that once I finished this title I was finished with this series and I am.
This time Alex is reinstated at the OIO and goes undercover without telling Martin. She's instrumental in bringing down a leg of a cartel a d 2 gangs. Her communication with Martin sketchy but in the end she tells him all, even moves in with him and at the same time she agrees to stay at the job under the condition no more long term undercover.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series. Alexis Parker is a believably complicated character and I care about the other characters as well. In addition to an excellent story, if I can’t care about the people, I don’t enjoy the book. I’m not just enjoying these books, I’m devouring them. I strongly recommend the series!
Alex is going to lose Martin if she isn't open about her job. Going back to OIO without telling him and going undercover without telling Martin. All these secrets that Alex keeps is hard on their relationship. Going undercover with a gang almost killed her and Martin. It's time she opened up to Martin or lose him.
Maybe it's just me but there seem to be so many characters and different things going on I had to go back and really do some thinking to catch up to what was going on. Especially when I had to put the book down and come back to it later. I like her books but this one just was a little too much I guess you'd say.
Action packed but need to get Martin more involved...would add to the story in a great way. Can't wait to read next book...only other author I like this much is J D Robb.
I have have read all of the books so far and just cannot stop reading one after another. The action and emotions in this one was riveting and the different characters in play was enthralling . Please keep writing this series I am now a #1 Fan !1
Still reading this series! I like the characters and its not heavy reading. Just what I'm I'm the mood for! I've got two more books downloaded and then I'll go from there!
I enjoy the effortless way you are taken through the trials and obstacles thrown at Alexis. You see her struggle and root for her all the way. Thanks for sweeping me through another adventure! I am looking forward to the next book.
Enjoyed this Alexis Parker more than all the previous ones, she seemed more of a real character then previously. Difficult to put this book down, and enjoyed picking it up to continue reading.
If you love crime thrillers with some real life scenarios this is a series yiu want to read. Shocking and yet Alexis makes you want to scream at her and then you want to hug her and tell her good job.
This might just be my favorite Alex Parker book so far! I really enjoyed how she went undercover and everything that came along with it, including how this assignment brought perspective to push her and Martin closer together in light of everything that she went through and returning to the OIO.
Whew, this was a tense one. I had to take a break halfway through, just so I could calm down and sleep. Alex got into some pretty dicey situations. G.K.Parks just keeps getting better and better.
I didn't read all this book as the topic made me feel ill. I spent so much of my life working with drug addicts that this particular topic just turned me off. I just couldn't read it. Sorry GK Parks.
