In a series of brief yet genuine vignettes about motherhood, homeschooling, and the simple life, one will catch glimpses of incredible moments that forever linger in the heart. Take a look behind-the-scenes into the joys and struggles of a young but “old-fashioned” wife and mother who homeschools her children, works, gardens, hangs clothes on the line and more, all as she recalls memories of her own childhood.
“When a Teacup Warms Your Heart” is about the artful simplicity of real prayer and work in the home, the sacrifice of daily duty as a Catholic wife and mother, and a domestic church that imitates the Holy Family in its unpretentiousness.
Written by a young wife and mother who grew up in a Communist country and who later came to the U.S. and converted to the Catholic faith, the author writes about her unique experiences of home life and community life, then and now, in an honest and timeless way that speaks to all hearts at home.
I read this book over time. Many of the stories brought me to tears as it was such an aha moment . Some caused me to say YES outloud. There is such joy in reading that there are others who share faith and love in God as I do. As well as craving a simple life.
This book was beautiful. It was such an encouraging read. You felt like you were there with her. The chapters were short but have a lot to ponder on. Well worth taking the time to read.
