In Books I and II of The Sanctum Trilogy, Madhuri Blaylock took readers on a treacherous journey full of intrigue and corruption, horror and despair, as she wove the tale of Dev and Wyatt, the hybrid demon created to destroy The Sanctum and her lover, once a warrior for The Sanctum, now a member of the mysterious sect of Magicals known as the Ramyan.
Their tale continues in Book Three: THE PROPHECY as battles wage, loved ones are lost, and the world seems on the brink of madness.
Culminating in explosive horror, one is forced to ask: after all of the blood and torture and pain and death, can there be any room for hope and wonder and life and love?
Madhuri Pavamani writes. Things. As they pop into her brain. Sometimes prose, sometimes poetry, all the time love. She’s mad about whiskey, tattoos, Marquez, and yoga. She laughs constantly, says fuck a lot, and will dance anywhere. She is the author of the middle grade series, THE SURVIVAL FILES, the paranormal romance trilogy, THE SANCTUM, and the fantasy trilogy, THE KEEPER SERIES. When she’s not writing, you can find her hanging with her trio of boy magic: the kid, the pup, and the lizard.

Finishing this trilogy filled me with a great sense of relief, not that the series was over but there was finally an end to the turmoil. This final book was an intense emotional ride and I couldn't get enough. What Madhuri does well is vividly share the complexities of being human (or Magical) in relationships. I took a chance on a new to me author in a genre I don't usually read and it was worth every minute. I highly recommend this book and this trilogy.

6. Epic. Final. Stars. I have no idea where to start. This trilogy has reached it's fantastic end and I am still utterly depressed about it. I just finished this a few hours ago so it's only reasonable that the devastation I experienced at every turn is still fresh in my heart. I gave up sleep for this and I don't regret a single second of it. I tried putting this book off for as long as I could but... I'm a masochist. I couldn't leave it alone and I payed greatly for it. There was a moment (NOT LYING) where I seriously considered DNF'ing this book. Not because it was awful, no. But because it was ruining me. It was tearing me apart repeatedly with all of the agony written in every page and I couldn't handle it. My brother was witness to that moment of my weakness. I don't know how Madhuri is still sane after writing this because I know I wouldn't be. I can't tell you how many times I was a sobbing mess and tried reading this through my tears. Of course, once she hit me with the last few chapters, there wasn't a moment where I WASN'T crying. This world was extraordinary. For lack of a better word. All of the thought put behind it... it still amazes me. I just can't believe it isn't real. I wish I could meet the main gang (Wyatt, Ryker, and Dev) but we all know that won't be possible. The character developments were phenomenal!! All of them have come so far and it's difficult to not feel proud of all the things they've overcome. The multiple point of views added more depth and emotion to every character and it was hard not to respect them in their own way. Ryker and Jools broke me apart time and time again, way before that ending did. I couldn't read the word 'Ryker' without crying. Their relationship was so ugly and precious and perfect... You might think I'm crazy, but read the books and you'll see how right I am. I'm also a hardcore shipper of Wyatt and Ryker. Those two are my world. The things they said to each other... boy, I wish somebody would talk to me that way. GAH! How they can be so perfect for and to each other and not be together is beyond me. Oh, right. Because of Dev. But I didn't mind her since she wasn't a damsel in distress. She was a killing machine and she has my approval in the happiness and love department. Her and Wyatt melted my heart often. Also, just to have it in writing, Jools irritated and disappointed me to no end. I don't like her, but I like her badassery. Talking about not liking characters, I grew to despise a couple characters to the core of my being. I've said this before, but I'll say it again: Madhuri has created the most memorable and disgusting villains I have ever stumbled upon. It takes complete God-like power to make me experience such rancor towards a character but Madhuri achieved it. Twice. With Carter and Ava. They are the most disgusting duo that I am glad I will NEVER get to meet. I wish I had never read about them either but I'd be lying if I said that they weren't crucial to the plot. I loved the reports Madhuri scattered along the series. If they don't prove my 'realistic' theory, then I don't know what will. The sexuality and brutality in this book is three times what it started off as so I don't recommend this to those under the age of 18. And this book is LOADED with emotional despair (it was for me) so I don't recommend this if you aren't ready to get your heart torn out of your chest, piece by piece. There were SO many perfect quotes throughout this entire story and I would mention some but then I'd be writing the entire book in this review, so I can't. I'll let you experience them for yourselves. Don't let the covers fool you. They are so beautiful and simple but the plot is gruesome and devastating and as complex as a plot can get. This woman is epic. But thanks to her, I won't be able to ever get this world out of my head. I don't know what I will do without these characters but... I guess I'll do it. Somehow. I'm left trying to pick the pieces left from this roller coaster of a gem and I know I won't be done any time soon. (Chapter 21 was the death of me.) If you haven't read this trilogy, I don't know what you're waiting for. I NEED to talk to more people about this! I've already bothered Madhuri with my opinions along the way but now I want to bother readers too. This was a most heart-wrenching, brutal, fantastic, and perfect ending to an amazing trilogy.
This was a stunning and gorgeous way to end the series. You will get the feels especially the end and Wyatt’s search. That will kill you I mean seriously you will just shiver and feel so emotional for Wyatt and what he is going through. And the end when he gets to his house oh wow just wow so so gorgeous there are no words to express how perfectly beautiful this book and ending was.
We pick up where we left off in book two. Now Wyatt’s sister is running the NY sanctum and heading the war. She is going around gaining alliances as is Ryker. Her last trip has her looking at her past and bonding again with an old love. She begins to feel more and more rung out and this break was something she needed. I still find Wyatt’s sister to be selfish and really a pain sometimes but there are moments even throughout this book that you see a hurt girl or a girl that can be kind and loves with all her heart.
I think the turning point for Wyatt’s sister is the battle their father was in. That turned her into a mean lean killing machine and she didn’t care who she hurt or who died as long as she got what she wanted. It’s like in Vampire Diaries when you see Stefan turn his humanity off that is what she reminded me of. That cold bloodedness was unnerving.
We also get to see Qi be freed from his burdens and guilt. We see him learn more of the prophecy and it makes him lighter. He still hasn’t reconciled with Wyatt or Dev but now he realizes his purpose and that they in their own way will forgive and love him as well. Sam was one to just despise at first. She wasn’t a great character but it was because that was what she was meant to be a not great character. Brilliant there on Blaylock’s part. Sam was all about the prophecy until one day she has Wyatt bring her to Qi and she is freed like him. Free to love and be unburdened.
Ryker is a sweet, kind loving and understanding as ever. And how he sticks with Wyatt no matter what the danger is so amazing. Wyatt has so much on his plate knowing he is part of the prophecy and that he might lose Dev is so much to handle. His Ramyan ways has him smarter and more observant but his every fiber in his being lives and breathes for Deb. Ryker is still his boyfriend but his connection to Dev grounds him. The scene where they are fighting the evil was incredibly written.
The myth of the dragons beautiful but seriously nothing is as incredibly written and moving as the ending where Wyatt is searching. After all the battles, all the death and destruction, all the people willing giving themselves over to try to save others it is the journey of Wyatt and Asher in the end that is the icing on the cake. It’s emotional and carries with you. It is hauntingly beautiful and also so poetic. The words he spoke at the beginning of the novel where he tells dev he will always find her and be there ring true and stay with you in this gorgeous scene.
This is a emotional roller coaster of a book that deals with the final battle in the prophecy. We see bravery and cowardess. Pain and suffering. Heartache and love. Loyalty and true bone deep soul love. We get privy to a ending to end all endings. A truly wonderful way to end the series.
I dragged out this book because I knew it was the end and I didn't want to part with these characters. Gosh, that ending. So well done. This trilogy took me on a journey folks and I loved every second of it. This end felt like it just smacked me with the feels over and over again. Every book feels like it's gearing up for the big finale and with this it felt like every chapter was just an emotional ride where things were violent and intoxicating. I love, love the writing style throughout these three books because it's beautiful and descriptive. I felt fully connected to darlings Wyatt and Dev and firecrackers Jools and Ryker. I could read from the latter's points of view forever. I could go on forever but these are my initial thoughts after just finishing it. I have so many lingering questions and thoughts and since me and Madhuri are besties now ;) I can just fling them her way. I don't expect answers because the best part of any story is leaving it up to the reader to imagine. :)
“You know you’ve read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.” ~Paul Sweeney
That sums up how I feel after finishing this captivating third and final book in The Sanctum Trilogy. Blaylock is such a talented writer and her words flow from the pages with such creativity and poetry. I am in awe that she can create such intense scenes and complex characters with such beautiful words.
The third book in the series is full of amazing twists and turns and the characters continue to surprise me. I laughed, I cried, I cheered! The only problem with the book is that it is such a fast read that the story ended way too quickly. It’s another book that you pick up and can’t put down.
Blaylock has a gift and I can only say that I am so thankful she is sharing it with the world. Do yourself and a favor and read these books!
FINALLY we get to see how The Prophecy is fulfilled! Aside from the steamy erotic fantasy, there are some epic battle scenes and intricate political maneuvers here. Everyone you love and hate is on the scene, but like any good final book, we lose a few beloved characters. I have a feeling I'll wonder, "What are Wyatt and Dev up to?" for some time to come.
There comes that moment when the final scene in the final book plays out and one sits there, not knowing whether to cry because you must part or to fist pump the air because you just know that somewhere on some plane of existence, life continues for the characters you have come to know inside and out. Only an author that connects with both the readers and the characters can evoke that split second of silent limbo and Madhuri Blaylock has got the gift! The Prophecy had two high bars to hopefully stay on par with and it actually went above and beyond!
The balance of tension, overwhelming odds, chaos and deep emotional journeys all came together in a symphony of wonder and amazement! Madhuri Blaylock didn’t rush to get through this one; she set up the final scenes like an artist setting up for their first big showing! Betrayals must be dealt with, no matter how painful; trusts must be accepted and given freely, understandings of one’s place on Fate’s chessboard of life, death and eternity. The resistance is gaining momentum, and the houses of power are now standing precariously on the precipice of doom. Must it take the loss of innocent lives to bring harmony to a world so long paralyzed and controlled by the elite few? The Girl and The Boy have finally brought The Prophecy to fruition. Will it be a moment to remember for all times?
Do not expect to leave this trilogy behind without leaving a piece of yourself with it, you will NOT look at this genre again without remembering the writing of Madhuri Blaylock and the characters she so lovingly brought to life to battle the age out fight between good and evil.
I WON this book in a contest presented by Madhuri Blaylock! Lucky Day for ME!

In The Prophecy, the final book in the Sanctum trilogy by Madhuri Blaylock, The Sanctum stands divided. The Breslins (minus one now. Heh, heh), and their co-conspirators are determined to keep hold of their brutal reign and fight the prophecy through any means necessary. Jools is no longer Acting Head of the New York Academy and is now in complete control of the resistance and has formed an alliance with the imps, who bow to no-one. Darby must come to terms with Jedda's betrayal, while Dev and Wyatt, who stand in the center of the prophecy, try to snatch ever diminishing moments before their fate is completely controlled by the gods. Madhuri Blaylock is the kind of author that leaves you with a severe case of book hangover. The Prophecy is the last book in the trilogy and it is appropriately epic. Not so much in the battle scenes or the big displays of emotion, but in the taut drama of people aware of their fate, accepting their fate, but still fighting against it. Blaylock pulls no punches. Much like her previous books there's a lyrical style to Blaylock's writing that almost makes you hold your breath as she slowly sets up the dominoes that are her characters lives before tipping them over into chaos. The Prophecy is much bigger than the other two books in the trilogy, which is great, because it sucks you in and I tore through the pages all the way up to the point that I realized how close I was getting to the end and tried to slow down (didn't work by the way). There are tons of new twists and unexpected developments and the only spoiler I would give is to make sure you have lots of tissues handy. You're gonna need 'em.
Wow this girl can write! I absolutely loved the final book in this trilogy. I am almost heartbroken it is over, Dev and Wyatt,Jools and Ryker, Darby and Ahba, just to name a few of the remarkable characters in the story. I will be thinking about them. I have become so enthralled in their lives. Beautifully written, at times poetic. The beginning of the chapter where Lyth contemplates change, just a gem of a passage. The ultimate good verses evil and the boy gets the girl story. I Thank the author again for offering "the girl" in the reading group, if she hadn't I would have missed out on this wonderful series.
She killed it!! Madhuri Blaylock's Sanctum Trilogy got the closure it deserves with The Prophesy. Highly, highly, highly recommended reading! Read this on a cross-US plane ride and kept getting stuff in my eyes! So beautifully written, so much emotion - I don't believe in spoilers in reviews, so I encourage folks to pick up the trilogy and make plans to be entranced. I was!! Love her.
I can only imagine that Madhuri's keyboard was molded out of some top secret material. This is the only way it could withstand the words pouring from her fingers, and luckily for us, landing on her computer screen. Madhuri wrote a blog post (I will hopefully find the link one day) where her mom asked about the author of the poetry in the beginning of the book. Madhuri explained to her mom she wrote it, but never realized it was poetry as she isn't the biggest connoisseur (my words not Madhuri's.) It surprised me that she wouldn't think of it as poetry. In my humble opinion all of her books are poetic. The connection between one sentence to another is more than just the makings of a paragraph. Madhuri is a story architect. She strings words together to make sentences that make the foundation of an epic story. I feel wrong just calling it a book, because it was so much more. The flow of the paragraphs was flawless the story she built is exactly like the house Wyatt builds for Dev. (Sorry teeny tiny spoiler.) I normally read on my elliptical. Everyday I hop on my trusty NordicTrack, and for an hour I immerse myself into somebody else's world. I was unable to do that with The Prophecy. I found myself slowing down just so I could concentrate on the flow of the words. It felt like the book was one long sentence, the current like a river that ran together creating a beautiful story. I actually put notes in my Kindle on pages that blew my mind marking them as perfect. I am sad and happy that this trilogy is over. It makes sense that it would end with The Prophecy. The Prophecy is what brought The Girl, and The Boy together. The beginning of their bond. I'm not saying that once this perfect union was together The Prophecy didn't get a little jealous and tried to pull them apart (hey, no one is perfect. We have set friends up, and then lost them to the new relationship. It sucks.) This book had me laughing, and crying in certain places I did both at the same time. The bond between the characters gave me hope that the world will get it right one of these days. As long as good keep edging above evil, and love can conquer all we all have a chance. This story is a story of hope, love, and some freaking hot sex scenes. I can not recommend it enough.

Love is always the Answer! From the old to the new.
I have to admit, this was my least favorite in the Sanctum books. Don’t get me wrong, it was very good towards the end but the beginning left something to be desired. There was too much politics and not enough action, first of all. Aside from the death tolls on the casualty reports, I would have forgotten there really was a war in action and we weren’t just gearing up for one. On top of that, I didn’t see nearly enough of the characters I had grown to know and love. There was a lot of scenes with the darker, twisted characters like Sam and the Breslins and not enough of the heroes, leaving me feel depressed and wishing both sides would just destroy each other and get it over with already. I felt like there were too many sub-plots to make the story as tight as it could have been, which is why I liked the story a lot more after some of those plotlines were resolved or went away.
As the story got tighter and more action and more of my favorite characters, I started to like the story much more. There was plenty of action, smart-mouthed lines, and suspense to keep me reading, and it ended exactly how it should have ended with me on the verge of tears and sighing over Wyatt and Dev’s love story. The only thing I wish were different toward the end was less of the long speeches about how much the characters mean to each other. If we don’t understand the depths of their relationships now, we never will.
That being said, this book is definitely a worthwhile read and Sanctum fans will enjoy this final book in this thrilling trilogy.
(I received this free book by the author in exchange for an honest review)
This was a great way to end the series and it is bittersweet. I didn’t want this series to end. Every time I turned the page my excitement for the story grew. I did take my time to read it simply because I did not want it to end. I know a lot of us do that. LOL. From the twist, turns, and romance I was captivated by it all. When I finished the book I had to take a minute to gather my life back together LOL. I will miss this journey that Madhuri took me on with this series.
The writing was soo good!!!!! God..this woman can write. It all flowed so good and perfect. It made you have all the types of feels in the right places. The writing kept getting better with each book. The emotional feelings between the characters were on point and your heart went out to them. With The Prophecy being the last book in the series I felt that it ended well. You can't read this series and not have yourself poured into it.
I would have to say that even though I did love all three. I think the first one is my favorite in the series.
My message to the author....Please, Please, Please keep writing!!!!!!! Work like this is why I fell in love with reading.
It took me a minute to get into this book because of a close family death, then falling ill myself, but once all of the interferences I was able to really concentrate on this final book of the series. I really did enjoy this read. And yes I did cry. I don't want to give anything away so I won't say too much, but I am wondering if Ryker ever caught up with Carter? I would have loved to read how he went down. I would so recommend this book/ series. Great job Madhuri.
The final book in the series and I have to admit I put off reading it as long as I could because I didn't want it to end. I was so right about how I'd feel, very sad that I won't be visiting with these wonderful characters anytime soon (yes I'm hoping and wishing that in the future we'll see some if not all of them again - hint, hint). And thank you Madhuri Blaylock for giving me my 2nd book hangover.
The Sanctum is divided and Jools is leading the charge against the Breslins. The fight to fulfill the Prophecy is violent but it had to be, the story just called for it. We have the characters we love and see some again that were met in the beginning and meet some new ones. You also learn about the past which shows you a side of characers that I didn't expect but was thrilled about. The story had me laughing, crying and on the edge of my seat needing to know what was going to happen on the next page. And when I reached the last page I was sad that it ended but it ended well.
The author knows how to tell a story that will put her readers in the palm of her hand. She gives them a wonderful story with strong characters that you know from the start you'll miss when it's all over. You definitely won't be disappointed reading this Trilogy! I can't wait to read what she comes out with next! I received this in exchange for a honest review
The final book of the Sanctum Trilogy was quite a journey. Blaylock's prose is amazing and her worldbuilding is freaking FANTASTIC as we were introduced to werewolf packs and imps and mother-effin DRAGONS.
The fight scenes were amazingly written and gory and action-packed, the romance was epic and steamy and I honestly loved every part of this book.
Blaylock had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and The Prophecy was the perfect ending to Wyatt and Dev's story.
5/5 stars to The Prophecy. I can't wait for what Madhuri has planned next!
The amazing finale in this trilogy, I was hypnotized by these books! Brilliantly written, exceptional characters and storyline. In this final book everything comes to a head. It is violent and traumatic at times, especially at the end but it is worth putting yourself through it. Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. Loved this trilogy from the first page to the final word. Yes, it did break my heart a few times but still a exceptional work of art.
Finally, everything coming together. It is more violent than the first two books, but what can be expected when they face the final battle. This third part was a bit more difficult to bring together because so much happened in it. If you feel confused about things, just continue reading, it comes together in the end and is so worth it!
